Printing duplex from template - won't flip

When I use the Birthday Card template and wish to print it using the duplex feature of my printer, the second page does not print upside down (or whatever that orientation should be). When printed, the card when folded would have page 2 - with the message, upside down on the top half of the back of the card.
Does my description of what is happening make sense? In other words when it is finished printing double sided, I should be able to fold the card in half, top to bottom, and have a picture on the front and the message right side up on the inside.
How can this be adjusted? Does it happen in iPages or should it be something that I need to find in my printer?
Dave

I think the template is set up for most users who don't have a printer capable of duplex printing & have to re-feed the paper to print the second side.
I opened the Birthday Card template & added an inside page. I selected both objects on the inside page, grouped them under the Arrange menu & then rotated the grouped object 180º in the metrics inspector to get them upside down.

  • Cannot print duplex from Preview

When I use my Epson Stylus Photo RX680 to print a document in Pages, I can use the duplex setting to print on both sides of the paper; when I print a document from Preview, the duplex setting is unavailable—grayed out. I've tried opening a PDF in Acrobat Reader, but that has almost no flexibility in print settings, thus no duplex setting.
How can I print a PDF on both sides?

I don't have an Epson RX680 and regrettably am not familiar with that printer, but let me ask you a couple of clarifying questions that, if it doesn't solve your issue outright, will hopefully provide some additional info for other pro bono helpers here to guide their troubleshooting suggestions.
    1. In the print dialog box that presents the printer pulldown menu and presets pulldown menu, there is a button to the right of the printer pull-down with either a ▲ or a ▼ symbol. If it is ▼, click on that button to expand the print dialog box to reveal additional print dialog box configuration options.
    2. Underneath the newly revealed "Orientation" buttons, there is another pulldown menu that, at least on mine right now, has "Preview" selected. When you activate that pulldown menu, do you have a "Layout" choice? Can you select it or is it grayed out?
    3. If you can select that, some additional pull-down menus will be revealed, one of which is "Two-Sided." Choices within there, at least for me, are off, long-edge binding, and short-edge binding. Do you have those options and can you select any of them other than "off" or are those options grayed out?
    4. If you can get that far, then you should be able to click on the print button, in order to print duplex from your duplex-capable printer.

  • Is it possible to print duplex from InDesign CS5?

There is no "duplex" option in the print dialog box of InDesign. I have duplexers on both my printers. When I tried to save it as a pdf and print that way, half the page sides are oriented upside down. I don't have a choice of "Flip on long side" or "Flip on short side", which I expected to see in either Adobe reader or InDesign.

    What Jacob Bugge said.
    In InDesign CS5:
Print (brings up window) > Printer (tab at bottom of print window; clicking brings up another window) > Layout (drop-down menu) > Duplex Printing & Margin > click "Duplex Printing" and modify Print Area and Stapling Side
In Adobe Acrobat 9 (full version -- don't know if it's the same in Reader):
Print (brings up window) > Copies & Pages (drop-down menu)  > Duplex Printing & Margin > click "Duplex Printing" and modify Print Area and Stapling Side
I have a Canon printer. Don't know if all the submenus are exactly the same, but I'd imagine they're similar.

  • InDesign CS5 Won't Print Duplex

    Hi,
I have InDesign CS5 and a Laserjet 2605DN printer. I printed duplex pages using InDesign with no problem on my old computer (Windows Vista) but now that I have another computer with Windows 8, I not able to print duplex.
There's no two-sided option available in InDesign's print dialogue. I have to choose "Setup," where a popup states, "If the desired print setting is available in InDesign's print dialogue box, please set it there to avoid printing conflicts."
I can print duplex from Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Word... just not InDesign. I've searched for solutions, but haven't found anything related to InDesign. I'm hoping someone here can offer some help.
I don't understand why InDesign wouldn't have a duplex option available in its print dialogue box like other programs do.
    Help, please...
    Thank you.

Okay, I read through a couple of "More Like This" posts mentioned on the right-hand side of this forum and one post mentioned setting the paper size as "Defined by Driver." When I checked my setting, I saw it was already showing "Defined by Driver." So, I changed it to "Letter." And that solved the problem; I'm able to print duplex now, thankfully. I hadn't even noticed the paper size wasn't showing letter to begin with.
Hopefully this might be of help to someone else now.

  • Brother Printer not printing in duplex from MacBook Pro

    Good morning, all;
I'm hoping I can get some help on a printer issue. My lab runs a number of Macs, but also a pair of PCs. I recently got a new Brother duplex printer (HL-5370DW) and networked the computers to it. The printer is working fine, except when we try to print duplex from the MacBook Pros in the lab. It will behave like a duplex printer in that it prints one side, then feeds the paper back through to print on the reverse, but the reverse never prints and it ends up going to another page. I have verified that all Macs are using the correct OX X 10.7 driver.
Curiously, this doesn't occur when we print in duplex from the PCs. Even more curious, we have the same make and model of printer in one of our offices (with the same driver and networked similarly) and it will print in duplex just fine. Brother is claiming that this is a problem with our Macs and were rather unhelpful in trouble shooting. So any advice would be greatly appreciated!

i have a brother HL-5370DW as well and my duplexing ability disappeared over the past couple of weeks.  i finally googled the problem tonight, and was happy to find this thread explaining the issue (the link to the thread from byline above helped further).
i went to brother's site, downloaded & installed the latest cups driver, and viola, problem solved (i did not have to restart the computer or printer, just installed the new driver and duplexing was good to go).
for the record, the brother site has this to say about the update history:
    Version 4.1.0
Corrects the issue of being unable to do 2-sided (duplex) print. (Only for machines supporting 2-sided (duplex) print)
    Version 4.0.0a
Compatible with Mac OS X 10.7.

  • Cannot print duplex Acrobat X Pro (Mac OS X 10.7)(Brother MFC-J625DW)

I just purchased a new Brother MFC-J625DW and I have lost the ability to print duplex.  This printer is a able to print duplex.  I have attached a screen shot of the printer dialog box.
I have installed the most up-to-date driver.  I have unistalled the printer and reinstalled the printer without success.
I am able to print duplex from Adobe 9 Standard from a Windows machine to this printer.
Anyone have a fix for this?
    Thanks

  • Won't let me print documents from website link

For this specific website, when I try to print a document it will automatically download it for me but it won't print. I will click on the download and it will open up on Word, but since it is coded it will not show properly. How can I get it to print directly from the print link on the website? I've tried resetting it and it still won't print.

[[Fix printing problems in Firefox]] may help, but if it also happens in other browsers you may want to ask the site developer.

  • My iMac is printing duplexed documents on a wirelessly connected Epson printer extremely slowly (minutes), but prints fast from and IOS device using AirPrint.  Settings don't offer any help.  Can anyone advise, please?

I have a one-year old (intel) iMac, now running on Mountain Lion.  I have a wireless network with an Epson Photo Stylus PX830FWD printer which has an auto-duplexer.  My problem is that when I print a two-sided document, the print takes minutes rather than seconds.  It prints at normal speed if I use the print facility on my iPad or iPhone (AirPrint), which suggests that the Mac settings are at fault.  I have been through all the settings on System Preferences that I can find, but nothing makes any difference.
I didn't notice it prining at slow speed on Snow Leopard or Lion OSX!
    Any suggestions, please?

I just figured out the print quality issue for my wife with her new iMac and new printer.
She replaced both at once and she couldn't understand why her Artisan 730 was lower quality then her Epson R280 when they had the same specs.
Turns out the newer printer had the option to connect via wifi which we used during setup.
The driver options are completely different depending on how you connect.
Once I connected via USB the correct options were available and the print quality was better.
Looking at the R2400 it dies not have wifi, but while researching the problem for my wife someone esle was having an issue updating to the latest printer driver.
If you go into the print utility from the Printer and Scanner system preference and under the general tab you should have driver 5.5.
One user had to delete the old printer driver before Software Update loaded the newer printer driver.

On my MacBook Pro (w Snow Leopard) I always had to reconnect my wifi at home when it woke up. I upgraded my router from an old Netgear to a newer N D-Link and stopped having to do that.
I would be surprised you would have that problem with an Airport Extreme, you might check to see if there is a firmware update for it.

  • My MG8120 won't print wirelessly from my MacBook running OS 10.9.5. Works fine with HP printers.

My MG8120 won't print wirelessly from my MacBook running OS 10.9.5 (Mavericks).  It works fine with all of the other HP printers in the office.  Another user has the same problem with her PC running Windows 7.  And she, too, has no problems printing on the other HPs.  I or she cannot print to any of three Canon printers in the office.

    Hi,
    Please try the following steps,
Download every updates from Apple and HP
Reset or Delete the printer from your mac (it may work trhough USB)
Reset all settings into default settings on your printer
Turn off or unplug mac, printer, modem, router
    Plug everything and reboot all
Reconnect the printer to home wifi network and mac also reconnect to the correct network

  • Since I updated to Mountain Lion I can't print to my Epson NX430 from my Mac. Though it prints fine from my iPad. Suggestions? I have already uninstalled and reinstalled software. It won't show up on my list of printer options.

My printer is showing no errors and printed fine from my iPad, but it will not connect wirelessly to my mac mini.  When I would try to print the printer status would remain at "idle" and the print queue would give an error message saying no printer was connected to the network.  I searched for a driver update and couldn't find one so I decided to uninstall the software and then reinstall.  I have done this and now the printer will not show up on the list where it should be to even install it durint set up.  What can I do to resolve this issue?

  • B110 won't print directly from iPhone

I've posted on this before, but didn't get any help with the problem, so I'll try again.
Basically, one of my B110 printers will not print directly from any iPhone or iPad. All devices come up with 'no Airplay printers found' message.
Before anyone asks, yes, of course the printer is on the list of Airplay compatible printers, yes, it prints fine via eprint emails, and yes, I have followed the very limited (switch on and off type advice) from the Apple support site.
It is connected via the D-Link Powerline N type wireless devices.
    Any help appreciated.
    Thanks.

I am trying to print photos from my HP Photosmart 6515. I have loaded the photo paper as the videos show, but the printer does not want to pick up the photo paper. • Printing photos from my computer using hp 6520 printer won't pick up photo paper.

I have a new HP 6520.  When I try to print photos from my computer, I get an error message that the paper tray is empty.  It does not pick up the photo paper and print.  Help!!!

    1. My paper tray(s) are propertly loaded, I'm not a novice. 2.  The bottom tray is LOADED properly.  3.  The UPPER PHOTO TRAY is also loaded properly, shiny side down of course, properly filled and pushed forward as far as it can go. (It worked fine an hour ago when I printed a couple of photos). 4. Now no matter what I do, how I specify photo paper size, IT ONLY PRINTS OUT ON REGULAR PAPER FROM THE BOTTOM TRAY (8"X10") ordinary paper!! 5. When I UNLOAD the bottom tray, in an attempt to "fool" the device so that there's is NOTHING BUT photo paper, I get a prompt telling me I must load the paper before it will print the photo!  Of course when I reload the bottom tray with the ordinary paper, it still prints out the photo FROM THE BOTTOM TRAY PAPER!!   I'm wasting ink and paper and I'm not happy. I was on the phone for more than 2 hours two weeks' ago getting the first NEW printer set up and it was decided by all four techs I spoke to that I indeed needed to have a new device. 6.  I received this replacement device just 4 days ago, another couple of hours speaking to India, finally worked ok, even unti earlier this evening but NOW it will NOT use photo paper from the upper tray. WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THESE TROUBLESOME HP6520'S?   I had a Photosmart 560 for years until it "died" a few weeks' ago and since then, this is my story with this product. You can check with India tech support to find my complete dealings with them vis-a-vis this product.
AND when I tried to sign up for this support 3 times I got refused telling me that the screen name I offered was already taken. Apparently the app was taking my information from when I may have signed up a couple of years' ago when I had an issue with my Photosmart 560.

Welcome to the HP Community Forum.
Sometimes you do have to restart everything again, including the Router - even after you have installed the Full Feature Software.
If that does not work (restarting the Router), you might try this:
Remove the Printer software from Control Panel > set icon view > Programs and Features > Right-Click on the program > Uninstall
    Shut down the computer
Shut down / Switch off the printer
    Switch off the Router
    Wait around for 2 minutes...
Switch on the router and wiat for it to boot completely - say, 1 minute.
Boot the computer and log in
    Switch on the printer
Install the Full Feature Software for the printer following the instructions:
