Printing emails that contain barcode

My husbands computer info:
HPE-170t bought in 2010 (I think)
Operating System 64-bit
Windows 7 HOme Premium
ServicePack 1
Internet Explorer (latest version)
485 GB FREE of the 687 GB (Used 202GB)
Printers:
HP 8600 All In One
HP M401 Laser
Wireless: Cox Cable (top of the line speed....up to 50)
Problem (NOT the first time this has happened but certainly time to ask questions)
My husband received an email (Yahoo-free email) from PF Changs that he responded to in order to receive a coupon for $10 off a $40 meal. He received the coupon and it had a barcode on it. "no forwards or duplications allowed". When he tried to print the coupon, the coupon printed but WITHOUT the barcode. (Just an "x" in a box)....but, could still SEE the barcode on the computer screen.
He wrote PF Changs......who sent him a direct link to the coupon with the barcode (with their apologies, of course). Same problem. Will print the coupon but no barcode PRINTED. (This may be because PF Chang's program recognizes that his email has already been used for a coupon? Don't know!)
Things tried to fix:
I tried several things to fix the issue but the only thing that worked to get the barcode was to PrtScrn and paste to a WORD document and then print the WORD document. I am sure that PF Changs won't accept that form of barcode. Regardless, we still have the issue of getting the computer to send the entire information to the printer.
He sent me the original email that I then clicked on and requested a coupon. I received the coupon in MY email (Yahoo-paid service) and it printed without any problem. I have a DELL computer.
He also sent me the email that HE recieved with the barcode in it. I could also print THAT one. However, his original email that he sent to me with the barcoded coupon, now shows up with "x" in the box. (forwards not allowed, so I think this wipes HIS coupon out.)
We are using the same wireless, same email provider (Yahoo) and the same printers. (HP8600)
He is ready to throw out his HP computer but I think it is a setting that I can't figure out which to change. He has had problems several times with Adobe Reader, PDF, and printing emails....and windows that won't open at all.
Any ideas?

To make the icon the default view of attachements, do the following:
Use the Terminal to set the preference.
Terminal is in Applications>Utilities. Open Terminal and type:
defaults write com.apple.mail DisableInlineAttachmentViewing -bool yes
That will make every attachment you send act like an attachment instead of a pretty unusable decoration.
If you decide this isn’t what you’re looking for, to restore inline attachment viewing type:
defaults write com.apple.mail DisableInlineAttachmentViewing -bool false
Restart Mail and you’re back to normal.

WMP is a windows proprietary format.
It is not supported on iOS devices.
QuickTime player is built into ios and used for all video playback-nothing is being converted.
You can try downloading an alternate player that can playback wmp or use a computer.

Why does an email that contains a video in WMP etc format and I try to open it on my iPhone coverts it to Quicktime which is not supported. How do I get this to stop?

All emails that I try to open on my iPhone 4 OS 5 that contains a video which was in windows media player format when sent to my email box will convert the video to Quicktime player when I open the email on my phone- which the iPhone does not reconize. Printing Emails that have pdf attachment icons

WHen I send an email that has a pdf attachment, I generally make sure that the attachment is "View as Icon". Even so, when I need to print the email for archive purposes, the printout always includes an image of the first page of the pdf, not the icon. This can result in unnecessary page prints.
In Lion, this used to happen only with pdf attachments that had only 1 page. In Mountain Lion, it seems to happen also with multi-page pdf attachments.
Is there a way to force print only the attachment icon in the email, not the full page?

I Have a email that has 2 documents that I want to convert to my adobe file . Can it be done?

I assume that your mail app on your iPad/iPhone is Apple Mail. You can open a MS Word/Excel document in Adobe Reader for iOS and convert it to PDF at a time.
In Mail, long press (press & hold) an attachment icon.
Select "Open in Adobe Reader".
Follow the instructions shown in Adobe Reader to subscribe to a paid service called "Adobe PDF Pack" to convert the document to PDF.
Please note that Adobe Reader for iOS itself is a free app but the subscription for the Word/Excel to PDF conversion is a paid service (i.e. not free).

Cannot send emails that contain other asian languages

i can receive emails that contian other languages, like chinese and korean. However, well i reply emails in those languages, people only receive smybols. I try to send it to my own email address as well, I also only receive symbols, like question marks. I'm using rogers but I don't think it has anything to do with the carriers because it was okay before.

The problem I have can be explained with what has happened to me just today!
I was sitting in the back garden and wrote two emails. (Normally my EE Brightbox router will allow me to use wifi in the garden so I thought it safe to send them.)
Wrong!
Because I had no wifi signal for whatever reason, the emails were sent via my network (3) and not via the EE wifi network.
3 then attempted to send them via smtp.orangehome.co.uk (specified in my mailbox setup on my phone since EE insists I use that outgoing server) and I assume that EE then refused to accept them since they did not originate from an EE user. The phone (Lumia 920) at that point froze with the 'Sycnhronising' message static on the screen. When I went to 'email setup' I got a message to tell me that there was a problem with my email setup. Whether the main problem or not, my email password had been lost and even when re-entered, I had to switch the phone off and on to stop the 'Sycnhronising' message and get access to email.
This was slightly different from previous situations - normally I get the numeric error message mentioned earlier. Even now that I have deleted the two emails from the outbox I still cannot use email until I delete and recreate my email account.
I have my own email server which I would prefer to use for outgoing mail as opposed to EE and the Lumia does not offer any facility to alter outgoing ports (as far as I an see).
Sorry if the reply is a bit wordy but I do feel that this situation deserves wider exposure as had I known earlier I would have chosen a broadband supplier who did not dictate the setting for outgoing mail server.

Hows this sound? Send an email that contains HTML button to update DB?

My thought is to send an email containing a link that when clicked it calls a page with several items and their values and the page has no authorization or authentication to update a record in the DB.
Can I send a session id or key to secure it as good as possible?

We do this to confirm the email address a user has entered in a registration form. We write a unique code created with SYS_GUID() to a field in the USERS table, then send an email to the user containing a link that includes that code. When they click on the link, they are confirmed as registered and the activation code is deleted so that the link can't be used again.

TS4002 If I send an email that contains a link or a simple attachment, the person I am sending it to either never receives it or they get it several hours later.

When I send an email with my icloud account it is delayed if it contains a hyperlink or attachement.

It sounds like you are trying to send emails but for some reason, thousands show activity. I would start by re indexing the mailbox to help troubleshoot the issue:
1.Quit Mail if it’s open.
2.In ~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData, delete any file that begins with “Envelope Index,” such as Envelope Index or Envelope Index-shm.To show your home Library folder, hold down the Option key, then in the Finder choose Go > Library.
3.Open Mail.Mail creates new Envelope Index files. This process may take a few minutes, depending on how many messages Mail is reindexing.

If the issue persists, I would next remove the account, restart the computer, and re add the account:
1.Choose Mail > Preferences, then click Accounts.
2.Select an account, then click Remove.

Removing an Exchange or IMAP account doesn’t permanently delete the account’s mailboxes and messages because they’re stored on the mail server. To retrieve the account’s mailboxes and messages from the server, add the account again in Mail.
To add the account again, click the rather than the as described above and retest the issue.

It's a phishing attempt to get your account and payment info, Apple send emails like that (accounts aren't 'suspended', the English in it is poor, it's not a personalised email, and the links don't take you to an Apple site). You could forward the email to Apple : [email protected]

HTML Email that contains Flash Video

Does anyone know of a way to send video (or Flash Video)
embedded within an html email so that it does not trigger the
Active X security warning?
Sending the file as an attachment is not an option. The main
objective is to have the video ( of Flash Video) start playing when

even if it was possible, the variety of mail clients is
indeterminable, and different mail clients allow/dont allow certain
things for incoming/outgoing email.. most email clients dont even
allow you to add pictures to the body of your email.

I recently got a new computer and lost the email that contained my serial number.

I recently got a new computer, my old computer had all my adobe products installed on it and was backed up to an external hard drive. Consequently, I don't have my serial number that was sent to me via email, because it was lost when I lost my other computer. Is there a way I can get one resent to me?

Your serial number should be available online if you purchased from Adobe or if you purchased somewhere else and registered your product with Adobe.

So I clicked a email that contained a 2 hour lecture on it, and then my screen went black and wont turn on or even connect to my Itunes. What could be wrong?

It was about 30MB, it was loading and then I turned off the screen. A few minutes later I tried turning it back on and it stayed black. I tried connecting it to my Macbook Pro and it says that its receiving a wrong response. What could be wrong?

Have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider if it appears), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

TS3899 I cannot send emails that have attachments on either my iPhone 5 or my ipad. This has happened before.

For some reason I cannot, out of the blue, send an email that contains a PDF attachment. I have shut off my ipad and iphone5 , as this is happening on both, removed and added email accounts, and nothing works.

We are not remote at all. Sitting in the fantastic Pavilion Hotel in Phnom Penh. Another couple here having trouble but not bigpond. Hotel staff have tried to help but to no avail.
Giving up and stick with gmail until we get home then start trying to get resolution.
Problem actually existed on a personal wi fi network in Melbourne before we left so I should have tried to resolve it then.

Email messages containing PDF's with hyperlinks

When I create my PDF (from indesign) with web links and email hyperlinks and send an email that contains the attached PDF, is there a way to allow the recipient to be able to click on those links in that PDF, from within the email message window? Thanks!

Your viewers need to open the attachment to read the PDF.
I'm not sure exactly what you are trying to do. ID really isn't the program for making email blasts.
