'Printing Error' error when trying to print in Safari

Hello, I am running OSX Mavericks and ran into this problem tonight. I have been using my new Macbook air for over a month and never had this problem happen at all. Whenever I try to print something from a webpage Safari gives me the error ' Print error' and no other info. No printing happens obviously. I have deleted the printer and added it again, I have deleted the drivers and installed them again. The only thing that seems to work is that if I restart the computer and try to print it will work 1 time and 1 time only. Then I get the same print error warning. Any ideas??? Thanks in advance!

Linc, thanks for the help. I have kind of figured it out...maybe. I have never had this issue at all on any of my Macs (3). Last night when this started to happen I was attempting to print some reviews off of Amazon (which i had never attempted before either). So I would print one page of the review on first attempt no problem but then have to shut the computer off to be able to then print the next page of reviews. I then tried to print off other sites and I had no problem. I just now printed our convo above and it cabme out no problem and I can print PDF's and word documents no problem. So it looks like maybe Amazon has something that stops you from printing their reviews maybe??? I had to save the review webpage as a PDF file and then print it, which worked. So looks like Amazon does not want their reviews printed I guess. Cheers for the help though!

Error -31000 when trying to print

I've recently started getting an error message that says, "Error: pstopdffilter/pstocupsraster failed with err number -31000" whenever I try to print. I've tried recreating the PDF file, using Reader X instead of Reader 9, and restarting the printer with no luck. I can print as an image, but that takes a LOT longer to print a multipage file. Any suggestions?

My reader version? This is the first I have ever had to look so the best I can say is "Adobe Reader X" .. I think.
My files are local, on a flash drive (E).
I ran chkdsk e on the drive and it all checks out as ok.
Browser is Chrome

Negative error code when trying to print from Linux OS

What does a negative error code mean when trying to print from Linux OS.
Terminated with error: REP-50157: Error while sending file to printer apps_dev. Exit with error code -1
It is Oracle Application Server 9.0.4 on Redhat Linux when I'am directly sending the output to the printer.

I keep getting an error message when trying to print.

When trying to print a pop up box keeps telling me I need to purchase Pages. I already have purchased it. I did have the trial version does it need to be deleted? The 30 day trial has been long gone and I purchased Pages months ago. Never had a problem until tonight. I do notice when I go into launchpad there are 2 pages icons??? Any help??? Thanks!

Getting error message when trying to print (LR4)

Hi All,
I am getting this message (/Library/Printers/EPSON/InkjetPrinter/Filter/pdftopdf.app/Contents/MacOS/pdftopdf failed) when trying to print
through the LR4 print module to my Epson 3880
I am running OSX 10.7.3 and have just downloaded and installed Epson driver v8.64
Cant seem to get around this.
Any ideas?

Got this one today.
In the end I solved it by deleting /Library/Printers/Epson, then used Software Update to install new drivers.

Printing error message when trying to print an email from Outlook 2010

I am having an issue with a client machine. The user is using windows 7 pro and office 2010 pro. This issue i am having is when you go to open an email that you need to print i get the following error "the item could not be found".
It does not make any difference if the printer is a local or a network printer. I have tried creating the profile again and still get the same problem. The problem is machine based and not user based. How can i get around this. At the
moment the user is having to copy and paste the message into word when they are then able to print it. It only seems to effect outlook and not other Office applications

If you recreated the Outlook profile and still got the same problem, please try to recreate the Windows Profile:
Log on to client using local admin account->rename the profile folder under c:\users.
By the way, did you try to print the mails in OWA?

Error message when trying to print

Hi, I have photoshop elements 8 that I am trying to print some pictures from. I am using it on my laptop that I just got that has windows 7 on it. I am getting an error when I try to print anything. It says "Could not complete your request because of a program error' and it won't print. It printed on time on my laser printer, but when I select my other color printer, I get the error message. The other printer is a HP Officejet 6500. I have the printers plugged into my laptop with a usb cable.
Any ideas how to fix this?

4 months old. I tried reinstalling it and then I set it as default and then tried to print something on the printer B as you called it. Then it came up with something asking if I wanted to fax it even though I selected printer and not fax. I also have a desktop computer so would it work to hook this printer up to the desktop and then print it through the network? I can't find anywhere on photoshop to select a printer on a network. Do you know how I can do that through photoshop? When I click print, it only brings up the 2 printers I have installed on this laptop.

That's lovely, but it doesn't tell me what the error is nor how to fix it. As usual I was trying to print out a walkthrough for one of my adventure games. Dear Drakster: This is Indy. Greetings from Canada!!! For openers, I did a system restore on Gus (my computer) to get rid of another annoying problem that wasn't related to my printer. As for browsers, I don't like Internet Explorer (too troublesome) and I'm working from Firefox. In fact, it was Firefox from which I was trying to print. I like Firefox. Now, Chrome I haven't touched yet. I think I might give that shot. It worked okay when I first put it back to work after the trouble I was having with my HP Envy 5530. That printer will be taken to a friend to sort when I can get back to the mall in which he's working. I will try Chrome and tell you what happened. Thank you very kindly for your reply. Error message when trying to print from the Preview

When I'm trying to print from the preview menu I have an error message and it won't print. Anything to do with recent upgrade to OS Lion?

Error message when trying to print to Designjet T2500

I am running an imac 10.8 attempting to print to a designjet t2500 with the most up to date drivers installed.
I am hoping that someone at HP can help me with this issue that I have been encountering. When attempting to print through the Preview app (it works with Layout but I need to use preview), it will not let me change the paper size from letter to the custom size I wish to without an error message. I wish to change to print size from "letter" to "36"x12"". The error message I then receive is:
"Changing the destination paper to 36x12 would cause a conflict that cannot be resolved. No change will be made."
and then changes the paper size back to letter. The t2500 is a large format printer so it should be able to print in this size and I have had no problem printing from my macbook running 10.10 in preview as well as other programs. Are there any known fixes for this issue?

Getting error message when trying to print to HP photosmart 8050

When I try to print something, it stays in the print que as "pending" then says "error-printing". I using a dell inspiron 1525. My printer is connected by USB. Help!

Got this one today.
In the end I solved it by deleting /Library/Printers/Epson, then used Software Update to install new drivers.

Error 9672 when trying to print using airport extreme

I have just purchased a new imac running os x 10.5.1 and an airport extreme base station. I have a canon pixma mp530 printer and have on occasions successfully printed using the printer with the airport extreme but it has been inconsistent and I have never been able to locate the printer drivers in the utilities folder. So I thought I would download the latest drivers located in the canon website claiming that they were os x 10.5.1 compatible. Now I am unable to add the printer to my printer list in the finder as I get a 9672 error message and my screen freezes and I still have no printer in the utility folder. I have a ibook running tiger and the printer when connected to both the ibook and the imac using a firewire works perfectly. Has anyone else had these problems using a printer wirelessly or is there something I am missing. The internet works with base station with no problems.

Despite being a total newbie, I good the damned thing to work--At least for now.
I first unplugged the airport and then the printer. Plugged them both back in and then went to Canon's site to redownload the drivers. Restarted the Macbook pro and to my astonishment it worked. Again, at least for now.....

I'm getting a Runtime error message when trying to print with Web printing.

Have selected item and clicked to print and error message comes up saying runtime error and will not allow printing.
Printer works without using web printing. OS is XP and browser is IE7

I had the same problem when using web printing 4.6; I uninstalled it and downloaded an earlier version. Now have no problems. Apparently there is a problem with version 4.6. Hope this helps.

I just bought the new laptop, and when I try to print to a network printer (one that I've always printed to before), I get a message: "The Active Directory Domain Services is currently unavailable" - I can't seem to add any network printers at all! Help!!!
Is there a setting I need to change to be able to add network printers?

I think you should contact your local administrator and let him install this network printer. He knows how to install right driver and how to find the printer location.
