Printing events that aren't there!

I just installed Tiger (10.4.11) on my G4 1.25 GHz PowerPC. It has iCal 2.0.5. When I bring up the Print dialog, there are entries that aren't on the calendar itself (I just have one calendar). I have recurring events every Thursday & Friday. In the Print preview, it duplicates these events on Friday & Saturday. Anyone know what's up?

You can submit suggestions for the iTunes Music Store through the Request Music page. Whether or not your suggestion will ever be acted upon will depend on a number of factors, some out of Apple's control (to start with, the artists and record companies have to be willing to license the tracks to Apple), so don't expect instant action.

Have you restored the iphone through itunes?
You say the unread messages aren't there but then they appear?

  • Keeps trying to update thumbnails that aren't there

I'm trying to open iphoto, but it is trying to open a bunch of old thumbnails for which the pictures don't exist anymore.  So it takes me about 30 minutes to cancel each photo it tries to open.  Anyway I can get rid of this?  So annoying.

    You have a corrupted Library.
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In Library Manager it's the FIle -> Rebuild command)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • 70 photos that aren't there, but iPhoto and Bridge say they are

I have an iPhone (first gen) that has a problem. When I plug the iPhone into the computer that it always syncs with, I am unable to get the photos to display correctly in iPhoto.
The computer thinks there are 70 photos on the iPhone that are no longer on the phone.
Both iPhoto and Adobe Bridge report the photos as being on the iPhone. However, those photos are not there. And can't be downloaded or deleted.
But when I plug the same iPhone into a different machine, I see the correct photos and can delete them correctly.
I'm sure there's just some plist that has to be deleted, but I don't know what.

    Hi Mary,
Try resetting the iPhone by holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons as described here: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305743
Also, make sure the iPhone is directly connected to the Mac using the cable that came with it. Then disconnect any other USB devices.
Do the photos show up in the Image Capture? You can find Image Capture in the Applications folder, just launch Finder and click Go(top menu bar)> Applications> Image Capture.
If they don't try rebuilding the iPhoto library as described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2638

  • Only copy files that aren't there...

    Hi
I keep my itunes stored on my Macbook, it's quite a large library (1.25tb). Every few weeks I back it up to an external drive, the easiest way i've found is by copying the whole folder, all 1.25tb and overwriting whats on the external drive each time, this obviously copies a lot of files which already exists there for the sake of 50 or so gb of new stuff. Is there anyway of just copying the stuff over which doesnt currently exist on the external? Sometimes it comes up with an option to "keep newer" but that seems to suggest that what is on the external disk is newer than on the macbook which doesnt really fit the bill...
    Cheers
    Rob

Just specify the iTunes Folder and CCC will only copy files that have changed.   If you deleted a file, it will also delete it on the backup (but there is a setting to change that behavior).
    Google https://www.google.com/#q=carbon+copy+cloner+to+backup+itunes
and you'll see others have recomended this,  See: http://www.everythingicafe.com/how-to-backup-your-itunes-library/

  • Shows e-mail notifications that aren't there

E-mail notifications show 18000 messages there are no actual messages. How do you clear the notifications. Has occurred since updating to the new iOS 7 system

    Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
No data is lost due to a reset.

  • I get ads on websites that aren't there when I use IE or a different computer.

When using Firefox on Facebook, I get ads that are all over the place on facebook and other websites I normally visit nearly daily. However, using Internet Explorer or other computers and visit the same websites, I don't get the ads issues. I've also had Facebook log in to my account and they don't see the ads on their end either. Therefore it must be in my computer side somewhere. I've tried to delete EVERYTHING involved with Firefox and tried to redownload it. But its not solving my issue. I've deleted cookies, history, temp files, everything, and nothing is getting it to work proper again. But again, works if I don't use Firefox or if I use a different computer. My 3 programs that search and destroy all spam, viruses, malware, adware, etc. are not solving my issue either. Please help.

I actually did one other thing I hadn't done yet....I had opened the "Add-ons" section of Firefox, noticed there was an add-on I actually never placed there, called something like "Shopanywhere.com" I believe. Once I disabled it, restarted Firefox, reopened the Add-ons, and then removed it. Restarted Firefox once more, now the ads are gone completely. Did another clean sweep with my 3 awesome adware/virus protection programs and have no more issues. Thanks for the help!

  • Putting Songs On My iPod That Aren't There

I wasn't sure of a title for this problem, but heres whats wrong:
I can plug my iPod into the computer and use iTunes to play songs from it etc...
I have 312 songs on my 60GB Colour iPod Photo, and I want to add more, but when I do add them to my iPod via iTunes (like i did with the other 312) they do not appear on the iPod.
About 3 weeks ago this problem started. I put a song onto my iPod, eject the iPod, go to find the song on the iPod but it just isnt there. Then I plug it back into the computer and the song that I added only a few minutes before is not there. I have updated my iPod and everything, but am still clueless as to what to do to solve my problem.
    Need help quick, thanks.

    James,
I am in the same boat as you. i got the 60gb video ipod and I am having the same problem. i have songs on the ipod, but when i want to add more there is nothing on there. It shows as if it adds ok, but when ejected, nothing. Did you ever find out what the problem was? Id like to know, this is frustrating especially since I just got the thing last Sat. Also, did you get a message saying something like there was a corrupt file or something? I tried transferring songs from 2 different pcs, and nothing.

  • GB scans for things that aren't there, and then crashes

I apologize if this question was answered elsewhere - I searched this forum in every way I could think of.
I just got the latest version of GarageBand via an AppleStore download. I went through the whole install procedure, including the "wait, we need to install more" download. I can't freaking start it. It goes through a "scan of audio units" and barfs on some programs I haven't had in 8 years or more.
For context, I recently re-uped my whole system from backup, after getting a creepy viruslike symptom in my Parallels virtual machine. But just to be clear and prevent wasted time of yours and mine - the GarageBand is running in pure Mac OS on pure Mac hardware, without any virtual machine ( I just do that to run my chess software.)
Please, I have done everything known to do:
    - searched for any plist file related to garage band and deleted it
    - searched for any files ANYWHERE in the system related to the apps it's crashing on, and deleted everything I could find including preferences
These apps that GarageBand demands or chrashes - it's not like I'm cheap because I dont have them anymore. THEY DON'T EXIST anymore. They have been discontinued. But it seems like GB will never start unless I find some way to resurrect defunct apps out of the ether.
Look, GarageBand is not crucially important to me. But I do use it as a convenient scratch pad for my other audio software. And I felt strongly enough about that need to download and pay for a new version from AppStore. Now, I feel completely screwed. Is Apple trying to persuade people to shop for their apps elsewhere? Or to buy non-Apple apps because they will actually work. That's how I feel now.
All I need is a freaking scratchpad. GB formerly provided that to me, and despite my paying for it, it's now dead.

There is the feature of Alternate layouts in Indesign CS6 which saves you alot of time and effort. You may create renditions in the same format tergetting the device dimensions.

  • Dock showing 10 unread mails that aren't there

I have checked all the folders within both accounts (Gmail & MobileMe) & there are no unopened mails. I have checked both accounts on-line to see if there are any discrepancies. There are no RSS feeds to open no reminders & nothing in the trash but still, the icon on the dock is showing 10 unread e-mails.
    Any advice please???
    Thanks!

Empty your mail trash, and then rebuild all of your mailboxes using the option in the mail application.

  • Ipod failing to sync old podcasts that aren't there

I have a 30GB video iPod. Trying and failing to sync with iTunes on MacBook Pro.
First of all it says some items in the iTunes library including xxxx were not copied because they could not be found. It then gives a list of OLD podcasts that I can't find in iTunes or in finder.
It gets so far and then says "attempting to copy to the disk yyyyyy failed. The disc could not be read from or written to.
However it is NOT an iPod problem. The same iPod will sync fine with iTunes on a windows PC and a Shuffle suffers the same problem with this MacBook Pro.
    TIA

What do you mean by old files?   If I am cleaning up a variety of unwanted items I usually put them all into a folder and delete the folder.   Are you talking about Time Machine records?   If so, be very careful how you delete them.

  • .mac Startpage shows Homepages that aren't there anymore....

I published quite a few homepages by iWeb and as well setup a filesharing iDisk page via the online .mac portal.
Then I went to my iDisk via the Finder and deleted all sites that are in the /web folder. I also deleted all files that I initially shared via this iDisk webpage.
But when I move to my .mac startpage I see still all those pages in the left overview pane. Evene after clearing my chache, many reloads etc.
When I press one of the shown links to the homepage I always only get to the "We're sorry, but we can't find the iWeb page you've requested."
When I click on the "iDisk public folder" link, thats shows 9 files, I only see an empty folder.
What can I do to get back a clear startpage pane?
I cannot delete the pages in iWeb as I use it to create my homepages for another account!
    Thanks

'homepage' actually refers to .Mac's HomePage, an online website creation and editing suite that's included in a .Mac subscription. It is what and where you wind up when you click on the HomePage icon in the .Mac site's tab bar.
HomePage comes with .Mac, iWeb comes with iLife. They are not the same thing, and iWeb is supported through it's own support areas and its own dedicated forums.
Mods might get around to moving the thread, but probably won't. Your question in short; just cut & paste it to a better forum.

  • Movies that aren't there but are taking up space

I've just moved my files to my new MacBook Air. All is going well, apart from when I check the storage in About This Mac, it reports that I have 21G + of movies. I don't. Anybody know how I can correct this, or find out where these movies might be?

  • Submit Songs That Aren't There?

Is there any way to, like, ask for a song to be put onto iTunes??
      Windows XP

You can submit suggestions for the iTunes Music Store through the Request Music page. • How do I search for data that's not there?

    Scenario:
The store managers are supposed to upload the previous days data by 11am the following day.
I have a table of stores (74 records, 1 for each store) and a table of events (3600+ records,1 for each store per day). When I look at the event data selecting a specific date, I can see I only have 71 records, but I can't easily tell which stores are missing.  I want to gather all the events for a date, then look for the store records and report only if the store is NOT there.  I have tried the following linking options:
store.store_no (equal to link) event.store_no (gives all 71 event records, as expected, but not the ones that aren't there)
store.store_no (not equal to link) event.store_no (gives all 71 event records, for each store record, store1, event 1, store1, event2, store2, event1, stove2, event2, etc) I believe this is because it's looking for the store match first, not the date, then the store)
store.store_no (left outer join) event.store_no (gives all 71 event records, as expected, but not the ones that aren't there at the bottom, like the help states)
I thought of subreport too, but you can't like on what's not there.
    does anybody have any clues?
BTW, I'm using 8.5 but can change to 10.
    Thanks,
    Clare

    Carl,
Thanks so much. I took we a while to get the formatting correct, here's what I ended up with:
    SELECT
        store."store_number", store."address1"
    FROM
        "sac"."store" LEFT OUTER JOIN (SELECT * from "sac"."posj_event"  WHERE  posj_event."business_date" = {d '2009-07-08'} ) ev  ON store."store_number"=ev."store"
    WHERE
        ev."store" is null
    ORDER BY
        store."store_number" ASC
My original report was set to look for CurrentDate-1, which translated to {d '2009-07-08'} will that still work here?
