• Unable to format print field on Smart Form

Hello,
I have a problem trying to format a print field so that it displays correctly.
The field in question is a display of a percentage (KOMVD-KBETR).
I currently have the following in a Program node:
IF NOT <KO>-KBETR IS INITIAL.
WRITE <KO>-KBETR CURRENCY <KO>-KOEI1 TO GV_KBETR .
ELSE.
CLEAR GV_KBETR.
ENDIF.
GV_KBETR has to be a character field for the WRITE to work. However if I use GV_KBETR in my TEXT node it appears some of the formatting options don't work on character fields. The one in question is (<)
I created a variable GV_KBETR_DISP type KBETR and added GV_KBETR_DISP = GV_KBETR to the program node above. Thisformats fine on the smartform. However using this setup I occasionally get an error when executing the smartform which I diagnosed that the GV_KBETR_DISP = GV_KBETR statement doesn't handle the data correctly if the data has a space in it.
Has anybody got any suggestions I could use to get round this problem?
Regards
Mike.

Hi,
Why can't you use the field - KOMVD-KBETR to display ?
IF you want to map the currency to this currency format, then you can simply add it in the Gloabal defnition -> Currency / Qty fields tab.
If you do not want to display the initial value, then you can use the text formatting option
&symbol(I)& Suppress output of the initial value

• PDFMaker ignores pdfmarks in Word 2013 PRINT fields

I've updated from Word 2003 to Word 2013.
I'm using PDFMaker of Acrobat XI.
My Word documents contain PRINT fields with pdfmark instructions.
These instructions were processed correctly when I used PDFmaker
in Word 2003 to create PDF documents.
They are NOT processed now when I use PDFmaker in Word 2013.
Note: My pdfmarks are processed correctly when I print to Adobe PDF
from Word 2013, which I take to mean that Word options are set correctly.
Is this a known bug?
Reinhard

Thank you very much for both of your answers.
I've had a closer look at the PDF documents that
are created by my two software combinations.
What works:
Acrobat XI with Word 2003
Application: Acrobat PDFMaker 11 for Word
PDF Producer: Acrobat Distiller 11.0 (Windows)
What doesn't work:
Acrobat XI with Word 2013
Application: Acrobat PDFMaker 11 for Word
PDF Producer: Adobe PDF Library 11.0
The PDF Producer explains it. Without your help,
I would have wasted (even) more time with futile tests.

• Some fields in form not printing but do print when printing fields only

Hope that someone can help with this. I have filled in some forms (supplied by a third party) and when I print these forms the content of some fields are printed, and some are not. I have found out that if I cut a field's content, then paste into the same field, then tab out of the field, then the field content will be printed. I have about 20 of these forms with a lot of fields, so I would prefer another solution ;-)
The strange thing is, when I choose to print fields only (I have Dutch version of Acrobat, not sure if it has that exact name in English) ALL fields are printed correctly!
I have scanned the forums and tried several printing options, including printing as image.
I have tried using Acrobat 8.1.6 Standard on Windows (at the office) and the latest Acrobat Reader on both Ubuntu Linux and Mac OSX (at home) with the same results.
Any suggestions?
thanks
Paul

The first time I chatted with iTunes support they ended it by giving me 2 free song downloads. No offense, but I don't want to download anything but what I've already paid for. The second person to help me through email support gave me 6 free song downloads. This is frustrating because neither can offer a solution to why iTunes says 6 of this album's tracks are downloaded to my computer and won't allow me to redownload them... BUT on another device I can redownload the album in its entirety. That sounds like a very technical question that I just don't think they train their support staff to handle.
So, does anyone know how I can get this computer to UNRECOGNIZE these songs as downloaded, thus allowing me to download the full album to this computer?!

• Why do I get spaces between the printed fields? (Oracle 10G)

Hi!
I use Oracle 10G and I have a program that doesn't work the way it does on previous versions of Oracle. Or maybe it's a wrong options?!?
Well i need to print the fields from a table with no spaces between them. Instead I get spaces between the fields. As if the dimension of the printed field is three times the real dimension of the field (even if I use SUBST, RTRIM, LPAD).
For example I have
SELECT '1', '2' FROM dual;
I get "1 2 " instead of "12"
The program is something like this:
SET SCAN ON
SET SPACE 0
SET PAGESIZE 0
SET PAUSE OFF
SET FEEDBACK OFF
SET HEADING OFF
SET EMBEDDED ON
SET VERIFY OFF
SET TERMOUT OFF
SET LINESIZE 4750
spool &&4
Select campo1, campo2 from tabella;
Oh! It's not possible to concatenate the fields. campo1 || campo1. I get error, I presume, because of the dimension of the line (4750).
Thanks,
Miky

SET COLSEP doesn't work! SPACE 0 should do the same, but doesn't work either When you complains that solution doesn't work, you should provide us the output you got. Because as I showed, and as shoblovk show it worked fine on our side.
Anyway, what's the version of your Oracle client (SQL*Plus), OS... ?
Nicolas.
PS : and use tags as well [pre]paste your code here[/pre]

• How to Print Fields that are Centered on the Label

Labview 6.1 - Which VI do I call or Attribute do I set to make a String Field "Centered" on its Row on a Zebra Label? I need to specify the String Data, the Font Size and Centered about Position. One Centered field per Row (3 Rows). I am using the NewReport.vi, SetReportOrientation.vi, SetReportFont.vi AppendReportText,vi, PrintReport.vi and DisposeReport.vi

LabVIEW does support the windows printer driver, I was thrown off by the fact that you said "zebra label." We have a report generation toolkit that will allow you to create more advanced reports and can programatically control microsoft word and excel to create as complex of a document as you desire.
Our basic report generation toolkit that ships with LabVIEW supports simple reports and layouts. It also allows for HTML reports. You can then append any HTML formatting to the report that you desire (such as the center tag).
You could also continue to use the standard report by appending spaces to the string you are printing. For example, if you know that your printer is 80 characters wide (using a fixed width font), you can take the size of the string "len" and append (80-len)/2 number of spaces to the string. If you need help doing this, let me know.
We actually implimented a barcode label printing VI that printed an entire front panel. We created a VI that had an array of controls and we formatted the controls to our desire (one was a centered string). We then used the "print panel vi" in the block diagram. That we we simply wired the inputs to the VI and it printed the front panel to the printer onto the labels (we use this on our large shipments that have more than one item).
The ActiveX examples that ship with LabVIEW and on our website are very good starting points for creating word reports, but if you are going to use LabVIEW to manipulate Microsoft Word and Excel, I really suggest getting our Report Generation Toolkit for Microsoft Office. The RGT (Report Generation Toolkit) contains a complete set of easy to use VIs to programmatically create and edit Word and Excel documents. The Microsoft Office ActiveX interface is huge, and it is often times hard to find good complete documentation on how to perform certain tasks. The RGT VIs hide all of the ActiveX complexity and really simplify the tasks, but as a developer I really appreciate the fact that the VIs contain all of the ActiveX code on the block diagram so that I can look at them as examples and modify them to my desire. You can find out more about the RGT from ni.com, click on Products, LabVIEW, LabVIEW Addons, LabVIEW Toolsets, LabVIEW Report Generation Toolkit.
I hope some this gives you an idea you can run with.

• How to print Field name with value of a Class object?

hi, In C#, I need to print a class field or property name with value without using reflection or string.join method.
For eg.
protected void Button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
List<EmployeeInfo> obj = new List<EmployeeInfo>();
obj.Add(new EmployeeInfo { eid = 123 });
obj.Add(new EmployeeInfo { ename = "abc" });
Response.Write(obj.ToString()); // output must be => ename ="abc" , eid = 123
public class EmployeeInfo
public string ename;
public int eid;
It need to be resulted as follows automatically with property name and value :
ename ="abc" , eid = 123
It need to be resulted with good performance and simple way.

You could override ToString method in EmployeeInfo class:
public class EmployeeInfo
public string ename;
public int eid;
public override string ToString()
return string.Format("ename =\"{0}\" , eid = \"{1}\"", ename, eid);
protected void Button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
EmployeeInfo obj = new EmployeeInfo() { eid = 111, ename = "aaa" };
Response.Write(obj.ToString());

• Print fields with multiple lines

We set the field for multiple lines in a pdf form. When
entering info, a scroll bar appears so they can enter multiple
lines. However, the mutiple lines don't print. If we increase the
field height, the scroll displays when info is typed beyond the
height and we cannot turn off the scroll.
Also, the field is in the middle of a form and the rest of
the form needs to adjust to accommodate the number of lines entered
in the expandable field. How??

I'm assuming you are authoring this pdf in Acrobat. If so,
double-click the text box field to open it's properties. In the
OPTIONS tab, select the "Multi-line" check box, but DESELECT the
"Scroll Long Text" check box. This will prevent folks from entering
more text than the box will allow (has space for). Therefore,
nothing will be hidden when the page is printed. If you DO want
folks to be able to put as much as they want in that box but are
limited in space on the page, printing will not be an option as the
printer will not realize text is hidden in that box. Hope this
helps!

• Printing field values to a PDF using a template

Hi
I have a set of field values stored in variables, I need to print these fields into a
PDF file. There is a template for this PDF , and each field value should go to a
specific location wrt the template on the new PDF. Could you any one
recommend a 3rd party API that can be used to do this purpose.

I used iText (http://www.lowagie.com/iText/) to do
this.
I created the template as a PDF and used AcroForms to
create named fields within specific formatting within
the PDF.
// Create a BAOS into which to write the
PDF.
ByteArrayOutputStream baos = new
ByteArrayOutputStream();
// Load the PDF template and open the form fields.
InputStream inputStream = new FileInputStream(
"template.pdf" );
PdfReader reader = new PdfReader( inputStream
PdfStamper stamp = new PdfStamper(reader,
baos);
AcroFields form = stamp.getAcroFields();
o set the text in a field:
form.setField("field_name", "field value");
// close the PDF and return the bytestream
stamp.close();
return baos;
It looks like that you are loading a PDF template from a file, and straight
away attempting to fill the form by using the name of the field. To do this shouldnt the
template PDF be formatted in a specific way to access the specific
location of the template where the field is.
Can you tell me if the template PDF file should be formatted in a specific way
to do this using iText. I was thinking of calculating the offsets of each field
and just print the data at that location.
And I very much appreciate your help so far.

• Automated Word Report Printer from a Cluster filled with controls Vi

I am sharing this Vi that i made to solve a problem i had.
Basically this Vi will take what ever is inside a cluster and print it to Word. you should have a Word template with Bookmarks to work. The bookmars name should be the same as the label of the control( i am explaining the function more in depth on the block diagram comments). This way you can make fancy word templates to print in the report your own values of your test.
express vis come limited in the number of inputs you can feed to a template. so this will make you life easier on printing a report. you just need to worry now about putting the values in the cluster.
You can find it here

Hello, take a look at this article. Unfortunately the Generate Report Get Data to Modify.vi was remove since RGT 1.1.3 release. That being said, we can try to find a workaround. See "Configuring a Printer Through the Windows Dialog in LabVIEW", open the GetPrinterSettings.vi, at the PrinterSettings property node you can select the from/to page. I hope this helps.
