Printing for spiral bound

Hi,
If I have a doc of say 24 pages, with currently 3/4 inch margins, how do i print it for spiral bound, duplex, where I need the margins to shift to 1 inch and 1/2 inch, depending on which side the spiral is on for that page? It would actually be a margin shift of every other page left, every other page right, but I'm not sure how to do that.

It's personal taste obviously, Randy, but I find that a spiral bound book with inside and outside margins symmetrical always looks a bit crowded by the binding and perhaps gives the impression that it was a bit clumsy in the planning. The eye tends to discount the part of the page that's inside the spiral binding, and sees the apparent width of the page as stretching from the outside edge of the binding across to the outside edge of the physical paper or card. If the inside margin is identical in width to the outside one before the binding, then afterwards it can look cramped and skimped on.
I would suggest that if you want the finished (printed and bound) page to look centred and balanced, the inside margin should be wider than the outside one by the distance the spiral binding intrudes into the page.
It might be of value to look at some sample spiral-bound books, compare the margin sizes and see which approach gives you the look you see for your book in your own mind's eye. Once it's printed and bound, it's too late to realise it doesn't look how you expected !

That is essentially a 2 up format as shown.
2 pages duplex will equate to 4 pages per sheet.
Your document needs to be divisable by 4. Add two blank pages at the end of your document.
Toggle "Print Blank Pages" from the Print Settings
Remove the blanks after creating the booklet.

Despreading a doc OR Bleeds when exporting pdf for wire bound book

Using ID CS3 Windows.
Creating PDF using PDF X1a for offset printing
I created a standard 8.5 x 11 page size annual report that is going to be wir-o bound (ie spiral bound).
It was created with page size as above and done as facing page spreads.
When I export the pdf, the bleed of a picture on the left side page that bleeds to the inside margin appears on the right hand page in the bleed margin, and no bleed is on the left page inside margin where it should be.
Just wondering if there is a way to solve this, other than going through and making the whole document not spreads in ID
IF I do have to 'despread' the document, is there a quick way to do this or do I have move each page in the pages panel?

How about File > Document Setup and uncheck the facing pages box? This will have an adverse effect on things if the book uses mirrored or different elements on left and right master pages.
As far as I know, if you leave facing pages on, the only way to "despread" is to disallow shuffling and drag them apart in the pages panel. Whether that is faster than splitting up and reassigning masters is debatable.

Spiral Bound Books

I'm new to Aperture, and maybe I'm completely missing something here.
I want to create a spiral-bound book like that of iPhoto. I just don't see it though. All I can find is hard cover and soft cover books of several sizes, the same as here: http://www.apple.com/aperture/resources/print-products.html.
So, are spiral-bound books an iPhoto only product?

I just liked the feel of laying out the books better in Aperture. I actually use Adobe for editing; so I'll save my money for now. I know I should do the layouts in InDesign, but this is just simpler.
BTW, have you ordered many Apple books? I'm just curious about their quality. I'm going to order some for Christmas for family gifts, and they would be thrilled with the photos I restored if I printed them at home; but for professional work, I'm a bit pickier.

Adjusting Files for Spiral Binding

I am looking to use one InDesign file or PDF that will display my material symmetrically (vertically and horizontally) in which material does move around when I scroll through the PDF pages. However, I would like to use this same PDF file to be able to print hard copies that will be Spiral Bound. Is there a feature, setting or command I must set either in InDesign or with my office printer to shift the content over just enough to not lose any material to the binding area? I understand it may "Shrink" my content horizontally, but as long as I don't lose my content, that is okay!

You could create a page 8" x 11" with a 1/2" bleed on the inside, and equal inside and outside margins. For your viewable PDF, export without bleed. For your printable PDF, export with bleed. This method will keep intact the layout of the document between both versions, however the page dimensions will be different.

PO print for fax/email transmission

Folks,
Have a generic query. How would you print the POs that were transmitted by FAX or EMAIL without adding a new message type?
The users in Prod. system have access to ME23N alone. If the message type was set as print, then no issues as they could go ahead and just reprint it.
However for the POs set as FAX/PRINT, the print icon does not appear.
What is the way out then?
Have tried with SP01, but could not get the PO print.
How is the spool no. found for a given PO. I checked in the processing logs for the messages, it said 'No processing log exists'.

Excise invoice Print for multiple invoices

i have developed a z smartform and attached to standard tcode J1IP o/p type J1I0 . The o/p is comming fine when i select one excise no after excecuting tcode J1IP But if selected multiple invoices by checking the checkbox and press print preview or print
button each time it is giving print preview/print diaog. i.e i need to execute print for first invoice and again i have to come back and again it will ask print prview/print dialog for second like wise n times for n no of selected documents .
my requirement is like when i execute tcode J1Ip and when i select multiple invoice i should get only one print preview or print dialog for all documents . how to achieve this

Its simple.
Put all the invoices in a single loop. I think you will be calling the smartform function module for each and every invoice. Don't do like that. Just collect all the invoices in the final table first and after that display the invoices.

SSRS & Report Viewer control - Show the print button and fire print for multi page report in Mozilla & Chrome

I have reports in SSRS. I am using remote reports. Reports have multiple pages.
In IE, the print button displays, but in Firefox and Chrome, it does not display.

The common workaround about print button on ReportViewer control for non-IE browsers is add ActiveX print control or create Print function. It has pros and cons.
I am not good at programming. But you can try to disable page breaks by setting InteractiveHeight to 0 so that the report will rendering in single page with Report Viewer control.

How do I get multiple lines to print for a blank text field so that it can be filled in by hand?

I have to design forms that are fillable electronically and by hand. The problem that I am running in to is supplying multiple lines that will print for people that are hand filling the form. I have tried to add an image of lines behind the text field, but these would get in the way when the form was filled in electronically.
I am using LiveCycle Designer ES2 v. 9.0 on a Windows machine.

Take a textfield
Go to Object | Allow multiple lines
Go to Layout | Height | activate "Expand to fit"
Go to the initialize-Event or readyform (You have to change the _ for your textfield)     this.rawValue = "___________\n___________\n___________";
Go to the enter-Event   this.rawValue = null;
Go to the exit-Event
          if(this.rawValue == null)
                this.rawValue = "___________\n___________\n___________";
          }else{}
With this solution you can simulate the same as pattern see above.

There are plenty of all-in-one printers made, but the problem is finding one that can print a twelve foot by twelve inch layout. To do this you will need a printer that accepts roll paper, and unfortunately the only printers that accept roll paper are high end photo printers that don't have a scanner, fax, or copier built in. I would suggest getting a dedicated photo printer for your layouts, and an all-in-one printer for your general home/office needs. A very nice photo printer that Best Buy® sells that should meet your needs is the HP Designjet 90, which accepts 18 inch roll paper. I hope this helps out!

Looking for a mobile printer for my car/ on the road work for my IPAD2

Looking for a printer I can use in my car and where ever necessary.

I've been happily printing for a while from my iPad to my battery-operated HP H470 with absolutely no wires (and no router / pre-existing WiFi connection - it operates in AdHoc mode). Literally just the iPad and the H470 - in fact, one time in a marquee in the middle of a muddy field with no power and a long way from the nearest WiFi connection, so it can be done from literally anywhere.

2.Just copy the standard program into Zprogram and make chanes and assign in NACE with the form.
3.But,in smartform lable printing is not possible.
4.you can print barcodes.

Unplug the USB cable from the printer. Plug your printer into your wireless router with an Ethernet cable.
Next, on each computer, get the latest software for your printer from the "Support & Drivers" link at the top of this page. Install it and select "Network" installation when it asks.
