Printing from a System 9 program

I can run programs from the classic mode, but am having difficulty printing with them. I tried reinstalling the printer, but now am just getting error messages. Before that I was just getting nothing. This is a Mac Mini running 512 memory - System 10.4.4
I thought I could print from this computer in classic prior to the upgrade, but not positive of that - This is in a computer lab and it is possible that no one needed to print from a classic program before today.
I am getting these error messages. -8882 and error -609 and not the latest is that it is not AppleEvent aware and Desktop Print 2.0 software is not installed. Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated.

You may be able to see it (in the Chooser), but is there a printer driver installed for it? You might need to look in:
<Macintosh HD>/System Folder/Extensions/Printer Descriptions/
For a file like "HP LaserJet 4050". If there isn't one, then you might see the printer but not be able to set it up or print to it. Take a look at HP's site here. (That link may time-out.)

Client copy & condition records: Printing from QA system to production

Hi,
We have the following problem: When production system is copied to quality assurance system (full system copy / client copy), also the condition records are copied. This means that when e.g. a sales order is printed in QA system, this printout goes to a business printer by default. This is a matter which is definitively annoying to the business.
Is it possible to find an easy way to fix this problem? For example, can the condition records be cleared after the full system copy? Or, is it possible to add word "TEST" on top of the printout if it is printed in QA system? We are looking an easy and simple solution to this.
I tried to find a solution in SAP Printing Guide, but couldn't find any help in there. Do you have any ideas or suggestions where can I find more help? Do you know if there is an SAP Note for this? Is the Message Control (CA-GTF-BS) http://help.sap.com/saphelp_46c/helpdata/en/c8/19878343b111d1896f0000e8322d00/frameset.htm right place to start the investigating?

After the system copy we go in and lock all printers then clear all the queues. Simpler ways we've not found.
We wrote ABAP programs that lock the printers then deletes the queues thus giving us the chance to clear things up as soon as the copy is done.
Be nice to hear if anyone has a better way.

Why can't I print from internet. system check prints ok. problem only in firefox. I have ubuntu 11.04

If I copy from the internet and paste to libre office it prints fine
When I try to print from firefox my Hp printer green lights starts blinking quick. indicating ready. But status bar stays "pending..."
When I go into system check printer test page prints as it should.
This only happens with Firefox!

When I go to file then print - nothing happens. I can print from email (yahoo) and I can print from any other program on my computer but not from Firefox. Why?

I cannot get the print menu to work in Firefox. I have no trouble printing from anywhere else on my computer. I go to file and the click on either print or print preview and nothing happens - no window of even an error message appear.

I'm glad you found the coupons.com app and you might also want to take a look at the GroceryIQ app from the same company. Please note that at this time, printing is only support from iPad to HP wireless inkjet printer. That's most likely the reason why your Canon isn't displaying when attempting to print. The other way to go might be emailing the coupons you want to your email address, then open that email and print from a conventional desktop or laptop computer.

Printing from a Dos Program which uses LPT1 running a Virtual XP under Windows 7 Professional.

The Virtual XP uses the printer assigned to Windows 7 Professional by using Microsoft Terminal Services so you see a TS... pointing the the printer
in Windows 7.
It works fine in the Virtual XP system.
When you open the DOS application to print you must first do a Net Use lpt1:
\\Virtual XP computer name\Shared name you assigned to the printer you want to use /persisent:yes
This works well when you are running in a regular XP machine, but will not work from the Virtual XP machine running under Windows & Professional.
I believe it has to do with the fact that the Virtual XP machine is connecting to the Windows 7 printer that is connected via a Net Use command
for the TSclient prn12 pointing to the Windows 7 HP network printer.
Has anyone encountered this situation and if so is there a way to correct it.
The error message I get in the DOS application says the printer is offline or not connected.

Have you tried to share the printer over the network in the Windows 7 environment - and then do a net use from inside the virtual machine (rather than using the terminal services printer redirection)? Note that for this to work you will need to be using
a direct network connection on the virtual machine - and not shared networking.

PL/SQL log messages are not printing from Java concurrent program

Hi,
I have a strange issue while submitting the Java concurrent program through PL/SQL.
I have a PL/SQL concurrent program which will invoke the Java concurrent program inside the package by use of "FND_GLOBAL.SUBMIT_REQUEST". It worked and submitted successfully. From that Java concurrent program we are calling some other PL/SQL packages and printing some log messages over there. But problem here is the request is only printing the Java log messages in view log but not the PL/SQL log messages. But if I submit the Java concurrent program directly from SRS form at that it is printing both Java and PL/SQL log messages.
I am just wondering how the log messages has not printed. Please provide your inputs to solve this problem.

How to remove 'My Printer' from XP 'System Tray' ?

Installed MG3100 series Printer, and 'My Printer' appeared in the System Tray.
Still want to use the printer, it works fine, but would like to remove icon link from the tray (scrnshot below).
Possible ?

Printing from CrystalReportViewer causes program to be unresponsive.

We are running Crystal Reports 2008 with our VB.net programs. Users are reporting that the programs become unresponsive(5-10 seconds) once the print button is clicked from the Crystal report viewer. They reported that the dialog that shows the pages counting was causing the problem.
We created our own print button and hid the counting dialog but the form was still unresponsive for the same amount of time. We then moved the print process to a separate thread to get around this. We have a solution for this problem but would like to know if there is already a fix for this issue?

When I try to print from Lightroom the program appears to go into safe mode(light gray) and never opens print options

I am trying to print a photo in Lightroom. I go to the print tab and it appears the program goes into safe mode(light gray) and does not open print options. All other functions of the program are working. I am not getting a memory low warning or other error messages. What would cause this problem?

Formating problems when printing from googlemail text program

I often use the text program in my google mail account to write letters. However when I click on print preview the format is altered in an undesireable way.
How can I avoid such unwanted format changes?

After Installing Acrobat X Standard, Cannot print from another Windows Program

I am having a strange problem. Once I installed Acrobat X Standard, another Windows based program stopped printing. It now comes up with a usp10.dll error, but most of the time it just crashes the program. Tried reinstalling the program and no luck. The error points at a Helvetica Font being the culprit that was installed with Acrobat. I am not sure how to clear this up.

I have not removed it. One of the things I did try was going into the Registry and to FontSubstitutions and change the Helv to Helv,186 or something like that.

No print from any Adobe program

I've tried everything, and cannot get my 7400 Xerox Phaser to print any Adobe document. Has ANYONE had this problem? I'm using CS5. I've downloaded drivers, driver updates, driver patches. I've reinstalled the Adobe programs. I do get a "communications error" on some other programs, but they still print. I used to get this message with the Adobe programs, but they were still printing until yesterday. Xerox says it's a "Mac thing." Adobe's site is absolutely no help. Anyone got a clue about what could be wrong?

Unable to print from hotmail program

I can't print from hotmail on my Macbook. In place of where the document to be printed would show, it says: "Print using system dialog" (don't know that that means but it doesn't work either.) I click on that, but it still doesn't print. Am able to print from all other programs on this Macbook. What am I missing? Thanks.

Currently, only certain printers support printing from iPad using the native print function. Your printer must have AirPrint built in to do so. Not many do at the moment, and I am pretty sure yours does not. You can see the supported printers at a link I have posted below. Of course there are many 3rd party apps, which can print like PrinterShare, but this cannot print mail. Sorry!
