Printing from a web page

No trouble printing from word processor document, but somehow my other print jobs run into trouble. The "Scale" box contains 75% and I do not know how to change it. In some cases, with PDF files I can change the option to fill the page and it works but i was trying to print the brackets page for the NCAA tournament and it would not fit properly, always part was off the page. My printer is an Epson Stylus Photo R300, and I have the updated drivers. Is there some place I can find out more info about the "Scale" box? or isn't this my problem??? Thanks, Jerry

Thanks for your time. Yes the scale is greyed out. I am using Safari, the newest version. If it should say 100% then I changed it to 75% but I don't know how??? I guess this is a general printing problem, where should I post it?? Thanks Jerry

  • Suddenly, system produces a "microsoft image writer," freezes, then crashes when I try to print from a web page. This is new, just past week or so.

For the past week or two, when I desire to print from a web page or email and hit the "print" command, instead of my printer name the printer window displays 'microsoft document image writer." Then it asks me to save (in which case it appears in my documents) or print to file. Then, if it works, it produces a window with an image of the page. And once or twice, I can then print. But usually, it produces a blank screen, an endless hourglass, a "not responding" message, and then the blue screen of death.

  • Initiating report printing from a web page to a network printer

I want to print to a user's network printer from a servlet. My development environment is a single machine so everything works just fine. The production environment is 3-tiered -- database server, web server and client. In the 3-tiered configuration the PrintReport class executes on the web server and seems to get lost. How can I print in the 3-tiered environment and still give the user the chance to change the printer or the print attributes? My java code currently displays a print dialog box to the user in the 1-tier environment.

I don't think you're going to be able to do that from a web page. Imagine if you visited my site and I decided that your printer should print every image in my "Special Donkey Pictures" directory...
You might be able to create an applet that you can feed the webpage into - into a JTextPane for instance, implement Printable and print from that. I say that without any real knowledge of Applets or what sort of security/signing issues there might be with that.

  • Print outs are blurry when printing from a web page.

I have sorta a strange problem with my printer that I'm hoping someone might be able to help me with. I have an HP 895 series printer that I got from an website not long ago. I bought (remanufactured) ink cartridges for it because it looked like the ink was running out, but after I put them in the prints started to look really blurry to where it would kind of hurt my eyes to look at it. I tried cleaning around the cartridges and printer as best I could and aligned the print cartridges. The problem is that the alignment page prints ok, I even printed a word document which looked fine, but when I try to print any type of web page from firefox, it still comes out blurry. It seems as if it is still not aligned. I'm not sure if there is anything else I can try or anything I can do to correct this. I'm just wondering if anyone has some suggestions.

If it is blurry after you installed the remanufactured cartridges, then it is the cartridges. If there is a printhead cleaning utility in the print driver, then run that, it may help. The only other possibility I can think of, is if you also changed to a different type of paper, but that is less likely.

    Hi mince,
If you are able to print documents from the computer and Firefox then you will need to contact Microsoft support so they can assist you with fixing IE 9.

  • When I try to print from a web page (email printing is fine), it doesn't "prepare" and printer error box comes up with "unknown error occurred while printing".

You have selected your default printer as the Microsoft XPS Document Writer. To solve this, go to Devices and Printers, right-click your printer of choice, and select 'Set as default printer'.

  • Deskjet F4480: what causes horizontal gaps when printing from the web?

I just installed a Deskjet F4480 printer. I'm using Windows 7 64-bit.  Printing a word-processing document works just fine - no problems.  Printing from a web page, however, produces horizontal streaks or gaps in the print.  The bottom of some lines is clipped off.  How can I correct this?

    Hi Michael,
Thanks for the suggestion, I tried USB, Ethernet and FAXing in a document.   All three print with the horizontal gaps.    The funny thing is that the copy (both color and blk/white) print out just fine.     I've run the available maintance functions serveral times, with no improvements.       I wound up purchasing another Canon Printer, because of being a need to print bind.   But would still like to get this one working, as I was very statisfied with it.
    Thanks, Roman...

  • Silent print a PDF from a web page using Flex. We are targeting Windows and Mac with Arcobat reader installed

We are planning to Silent print a PDF from a web page using Flex. We are targeting Windows and Mac with Arcobat reader installed. I have tried using the AIR appliaction and it worked, But our requirement is NO INSTALL to the user machine for the silent printing. It is just from web page and silent printing to the default printer to the desktop/Laptop. Can anyone share your thoughts and experience with us. It will be very helpful..
For AIR : I tried the thread Re: AIR and PDF showing/silent printing

    Hey CodeMonkey & Ross,
Did you either of you ever find a solution? I'm stuck too, it seems I can get remote printing on all these PDFs to work but it just prints a blank page since I've been using Javascript in the browser, not Adobe's (they are Engineering drawings that I do not have permission to edit so I can't just insert code into them but I need to make work instructions). I've been scouring the internet for hours now, it seems that this thread is the only relevant/useful one at this point. No one else was trying to achieve this for similar reasons to mine.
    Thanks guys,
    Lox

  • Since latest upgrade I cannot "print" or show "print preview" from any web page. This is true of both of my printers and I have followed directions on plug-ins and have reinstalled Firefox etc. I am about ready to switch to Internet Explorer! w

Since upgrading Firefox, it doesn't respond when I click on print and/or print preview while displaying web pages.. No error message, just no response. I tried using both my printers..a HP and a Canon and get no results with either. I have no problem printing from any other place (including "Print" instructions within web pages, usually). I have recently upgraded my desktop (Dell Vostro 220) to Windows 7 and it went smoothly. The Firefox upgrade came at about the same time, so I don't know if Windows 7 is part of the problem. I need be able to print from the screen of web pages!

    Hi jjoyceeric,
Have you looked at the Knowledge Base article [[Firefox prints incorrectly]]? There is some good troubleshooting information in there. I would suggest that you try resetting your print settings.
    Hopefully this helps!

  • Printing a selection from a web page, word document etc.

It embarrasses me to say, I cannot find a way to print a selection--a paragraph for example--from a web page or a Word document. In Windows it's done with a few mouse clicks: file/print/selection. I'm sure there must be a simple way to do it in Leopard, but what is it?

While there is no "print selection" command, you can use one of the globally available services to open a new window in textedit containing your selection, then print it.
Select something and then go to Safari>Services>TextEdit>New Window Containing Selection
and a new textedit window will open with your selection pasted in. Now you can print it.
I suppose if you do this a lot, you could write a short applescript that'll do this, print it, and quit textedit, and then stick the script in the script menu. Just a thought.

  • Why can I not print anything from a web page?

Why can I not print anything from a web page?

Thank you, but I still haven't solved my problem. I tried the reset suggestion. But I cannot find print.print_printer preference. Maybe the word "printer" is to be replaced with the name of my printer. But because of the warning that making any changes is a very dangerous thing to do, I hesitated to do anything.
I have located the Print to file option, but it is not checked.
This problem did not exist before the Firefox update of about 6 months ago. Today I downloaded the latest Firefox update, hoping that would solve my problem, but it did not.
Thank you for your continued assistance.
