Printing from acrobat pro 9 with yosemite on iMac retina

My new iMac will not print an annotated form using a completely updated Acrobat Pro 9.5.5. Is there a driver that is missing? When I try to open the form in "Preview" it comes out garbled. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

thanks for the push to getting a cache cleaner -- tried and will see if it keeps the problem in hand.

  • Can't Duplex print from Acrobat Pro 9.3.2 to Epson Artisan 800

I can not duplex Print from Acrobat Pro 9.3.2 to an Epson Artisan 800.
I an running it from a MacBook Pro with OSX 10.6.3
I called Epson support and they could not help me.
However they suggested that I try using Adobe Reader.
Well that works OK if I choose to print the document as an image, but I would prefer to just be able to work within Acrobat Pro.
Does anyone outthere have any settings within Acrobat Pro that would enable duplex printing?
    Thanks

Have you tried going back to the default print settings in the Print dialog under the Advanced button and select Acrobat Default under the Settings dropdown?

  • Cant print from Acrobat Pro 9.4.4?

Just get a message saying "this document cant be printed". Then another saying "no pages were selected". This happens on two different printers and has been going on for months. Driving me mad.

Has nothing to do with the OSX version you have.
I would lean toward the possibility of outdated Print Drivers, or bad Print Drivers.
    Do the following:
Go to Printers' Websites, look for current driver file for each printer, download.
    To System Preferences > Printer/Fax, open Printer/Fax.
While in Printer/Fax delete the first printer that is not working.
install the driver file for that printer, then try that printer
repeat steps 3 & 4 above for second printer.
If that doesn't correct the problem. You have a Bad install of Acrobat 9.4.4 or possibly the preference files for acrobat are bad.
Also if you just installed try repairing permissions.
Another thing you can do is try restarting, in Safe Mode.  once you have signed in and the system is finished rebuilding. Try to print Something.
If the above don't work you possibly havea document with minor corruption. I which case you can creat a PDF from Blank Page then copy contents of the defective PDF  (Command-A)  then paste into new document.

  • How to fix extremely slow printing from web pages with latest updates (iMac) & HP Office jet printer. (It was not a problem with earlier versions of Firefox & same computer & printer.)

The latest two updates of Mozilla Firefox are not useful for me because of extremely slow printing of web pages. It was never a problem before. Same iMac and HP officejet printer. How can I either fix it, or revert to an earlier version of the browser (without losing all my bookmarks) which didn't cause this problem?

Try scanning from your Mac.  Use Image Capture app in your Applications folder.
Click once on the scanner on the left side, then click on Show Details along the bottom.  Along the right side you will see LOTS of options for scanning and saving.

  • Garbled text printing from Acrobat pro 11.0.09

I tried printing a PDF invoice from one of my suppliers yesterday and though they have printed fine in the past, suddenly all the text that is set in Arial Narrow is printing as random and squashed symbols and characters. I've checked and I have Arial Narrow active under Suitcase Fusion 5,  but it is listed as embedded anyway in the document so that shouldn't be an issue. It prints fine if I open in Preview and of course if I select print as image in the print dialogue. I'm using an Epson AL C2800. Anyone any thoughts on what might be causing this? It will be a pain to have to select print as image every time I get a document from these people?

Hi Dov and thanks for your speedy reply. I've tried downloading the latest driver for the AL C2800 which reports on Epson's site as 7.10. However after installing The printer utility still reports v 17.04 and printing still has garbled text.
Using PCL mode doesn't seem to make any difference either. I assume I'm doing this correctly ny selecting PCL as an portion from the printer menu - or do I have to download a separate driver? I tried sending you a message but I don't know how to send one of the pdf files in question. Then I click on attach an image it rejects a pdf file. So how do i get a copy of the file to you?
What is so strange is that everything worked fine a couple of weeks ago when I last printed one of these documents. The only conscious change to my system or printer is changing a leaking black printer cartridge a couple of days ago, installing the MS Onedrive app (and then deleting as it seems pretty useless), activating a couple of system fonts to handle foreign language/symbol encoding and updating a couple of minor apps - Fetch and an update to Suitcase Fusion 5 (I tried quitting Suitcase through I know it's not the culprit as the font is embedded - but I still get the garbled text)

  • Solution to the problem printing from Acrobat 9.4.2

Since there are nearly 200 posts in the original thread, It might be best (for those looking for a quick solution) to do this in a new thread.
The problem is that you cannot print to a network printer from Acrobat (pro) 9.4.2.  Printing to a local (USB) printer seems okay.
The solution (for us) was found at http://www.hypersensory.com/content/fix-printing-after-installing-adobe-acrobat-942-update
    The approach I tested was:
    [T]he fast and easy way:
1.) go to the installation directory of Acrobat (C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\Acrobat)
2.) Look for the file "Adobe.Acrobat.Dependencies.manifest"
3.) Open it and delete the line <file name="atl.dll" />
4.) Reboot your machine after saving that file
This should fix the issue of being unable to print PDF file after installing 9.4.2 update for Adobe Acrobat.
With thanks to the folks at HyperSensory.com!  It works!

Could someone from Adobe respond to this specific issue so that we know we are being heard?  Will the fix for the print issue also resolve the 'attach to email' problem?  Is there any work around other than telling users to attach directly from their email programs?
Thanks in advance for your response to our concerns.

  • HUGE BUG printing Booklet from Acrobat Pro 11.0.10

I spent an hour chatting with Adobe support in India. They could not solve this issue.
I submitted a BUG REPORT at Adobe - Feature Request/Bug Report Form
    Here is the BUG Report:
    ******BUG******
    Concise problem statement:
    Steps to reproduce bug:
    1. Export individual pages from InDesign as pdf (16-page booklet, each individual page is 5-1/2" x 8-1/2")
    2. Open pdf in Acrobat Pro 11.0.10
    3. Choose actual size, then choose booklet, and print. (printer contains letter-size paper, and page set-up is set to 100% scale.)
Results: The printed booklet is the WRONG SIZE! The pagination is correct as usual, but each individual page is being REDUCED, and now each page image is too small, and there is now a GAP between pages, and the entire booklet is useless. If you can, please see case number: 0186447426: support chat: it covers everything we have tried so far ... (We tried everything they could think of, but all attempts failed.) This bug was introduced somewhere along the line with Yosemite.
Expected results: As usual, when printing booklets from Acrobat Pro, we expect the print to be the right size, the same size as the InDesign doc, and as it has been printed previously by Acrobat Pro prior to Yosemite. Thanks for fixing this disaster of a bug. Please contact me if you need further info, copies of the individual page pdf, etc.
I am literally stuck. I can go through the laborious process of using InDesign to "print booklet" to a postscript file and use Distiller to make the booklet pdf, but under Yosemite, I am prevented from installing print drivers unless that printer is locally available on my network. Unfortunately, the printer is located at my client's place of business.
I realize there is typically a leap-frog effect between operating system updates, hardware, and application updates, but combined with other Yosemite issues, this Acrobat Pro bug is killing my business.

DrStrik9 (sounds a bit poisonous to me!),
The issue, regrettably, is that Acrobat is performing as designed. And it has nothing to do with either MacOS 10.10 or anything new or different with Acrobat 11.0.10 (versus earlier versions going all the way back to the initial implementation of the booklet printing feature). And this isn't directly a printer driver issue, either! The same behaviour occurs both on MacOS and Windows.
The problem, simply stated, is that the Booklet print option in Acrobat (and Reader) is attempting to avoid loss of content due to the paper's non-printable margins. The scaling factors in the Size print option are not utilized at all in the Booklet print option. The Booklet print option attempts to fit two logical pages of your PDF file into the printable area of each physical sheet of paper. Assuming that your printer's Letter page is defined as having a printable area of 8"x10.5" due to a 0.25" non-printable area surrounding the page, then the Booklet print option will force each of the 5.5"x8.5" pages of your PDF file into a  5.17'x8" area centered on each half of the 8.5"x11" printed sheet.
There are three workarounds that I know of:
    (1)    Many high end printers have booklet printing capabilities in the printer or printer driver itself. Check the detailed driver options to see whether in fact your printer / printer driver does support a booklet printing option. If so, try that first. That would likely solve your problem.
    (2)    Assuming that this is a PostScript printer, edit the .PPD file for the printer you are using to to modify the specification of the Letter printable area. In the PPD file, you will see an entry similar to this:
        *ImageableArea Letter/Letter: "18 18 594 774"
    or
        *ImageableArea Letter/US Letter: "18 18 594 774"
Edit the entry to change only the four numbers as follows:
        *ImageableArea Letter/Letter: "0 0 612 792"
That indicates to the PostScript driver that there is no unprintable border on your pages. Then save the .PPD file. I would then suggest rebooting and then trying to print. Note that the side effect of this is that Fit and Shrink oversized pages options will not take into account the non-printable area of your printer.
Note that a similar hack can be done with Ledger (i.e. 11"x17") page descriptions in the PPD to fix a similar issue affecting printing 8.5"x11" pages to 11"x17" sheets as booklets.
    (3)    There are some very reliable third party plugins for Acrobat that provide full advanced document imposition capabilities, creating what are known as printer flats as a new PDF file from your logical pages. There are n-up, booklet, step-and-repeat, etc. options galore in such packages. Examples include Quite Imposing and PDF Snake. I have personally used Quite Imposing for nearly 15 years for this purpose and can vouch that it works beautifully. I don't have personal experience with PDF Snake, although it is less expensive.
Good luck and let us know if any of this helps you at all!

  • Printing difference from acrobat pro or acrobat reader

    Hi,
I noticed when i maken pdf files from inDesign ansd print from my computer the fonts are printed fine and sharp (from acrobat pro) but when other people are printing the documents from the reader version the fonts aan kinda blurred and grainy..
I first thought fonts were nog embedded right, but that's not the issue.. The pdf says it's embedded just fine, and eve with the font installed locally it doesn;t make a difference..
For the rest the computers are installed the same and printer settings are equal. The only difference is i have installed the CS5 package on my machine and the rest doesn't.
Is there a difference when printing from the acrobat reader?

  • Since upgrading my Macbook pro with Yosemite, I have problem with my Xerox Work Centre 3045 - the printer works normally but it does not recognise the scanner, can you help with this?

Since upgrading my Mac book pro with Yosemite, I have problems with my Xerox Work Centre 3045 printer. The printer works normally but it does not recognise scanner, I can not scan anything. Can you help?

Open Disk Utility and select your hard drive, then Repair Permissions, it will probably return a very large number of errors, primarily printer and library errors, so run it a second time.  Then restart the MacBook Pro.  If it still will not scan, try using Image Capture from Finder > Applications and see if that will work.  If not, contact Xerox about updated drivers.

  • Can't Print from Acrobat 9 Pro on windows 7 64bit....

I have a windows 7 64-bit computer that can't print to any printer from Acrobat 9 Pro.  When you try to print I get the following error:
"print driver host for 32 bit application has stopped working"
Any thoughts, it's driving me crazy....

I'm having the identical problem and the only way I can get it to work is by not trying to change the title suggested by Acrobat for the PDF.
If I try printing from Firefox and pasting in a new PDF title, it crashes Firefox.

  • PDF prints from Acrobat 8 Pro, but not from Acrobat 9 Pro

I have a PDF that prints fine when I print from Acrobat 8 Pro, but when I open the same PDF in Acrobat 9 Pro, only portions of each page actually print out.
All systems running Windows XP Pro, SP3
    A8P 8.1.2
    A9P 9.1.1
    Any ideas?

Well, for those following this thread or needing a solution, I found a work-around though I'm still not sure why the initial problem exists.
In Acrobat 9 Pro, once you have the main print dialogue box open, follow the steps below:
    1) Click ADVANCED
    2) Select PRINT AS IMAGE
    3) Set DPI to 300
    4) Click OK
    5) Make any other typical print setup adjustments as you normally would and finish printing as usual

  • I use Acrobat X1 Pro. When I launch it I get these pop up about buying or trying DC. I pressed the privacy link to stop it, but it hasn't. It says Acrobat Application Manger. It literally overrides launching Acrobat x1. I use a macbook pro with yosemite.

I use Acrobat Pro X1. I use a macbook Pro with Yosemite. Was working fine. Last time I launched the software, I got this Abrobat Application Manager poping up and overriding the Acrobat launch asking to buy or try Acrobat DC. I can't make it go away, even when I press the privacy link. Please don't tell me this is some malware bug. Should I uninstall the current AX1Pro and reinstall it. This is very frustrating.

  • Cannot Print in Acrobat Pro 9.4.2 (XP Pro SP3), but Other Apps Can

I am unable to print PDFs on my workstation unless I drag them from a Windows Explorer session and drop them on an open printer window (Start, Printers and Faxes, double-click on printer to open window). I have Acrobat 9 Professional (ver. 9.4.2) running under Windows XP Pro (SP3). I cannot print a PDF from within Acrobat or from within a browser window. I have done a "repair install" on Acrobat and rebooted. When I try to print from within Acrobat or a browser window, I do not receive any form of error message. There is no indication of any problem. If I have the printer window open window (Start, Printers and Faxes, double-click on printer to open window) and I try to print from Acrobat or a browser, I never see anything appear in the window, even briefly. If I drag a PDF from Windows Explorer and drop it in the printer window, the document name appears briefly in the window and the document prints.
I have double checked my printer settings from within Acrobat to make sure that it is not "printing to file." The correct printer *is* selected.
I've tried printing to different printers in the office. I've even tried printing to the "virtual printer" which is a front-end to our fax server. No dice. If I monitor the printers folder (which lists every printer that my workstation can print to currently), the "documents" column (which shows the number of documents in the queue to be printed) never changes from zero.
The fact that I can drag a PDF from Windows Explorer and drop it on a printer and get it to print really puzzles me, since I thought that this was only possible if either Acrobat Pro (or other paid version) or Acrobat Reader was installed. That is, I thought that Windows XP cannot print a PDF unless some sort of PDF reader (Acrobat, Nitro, etc.) is installed. Then again, I may be mistaken. *IF* indeed Windows XP doesn't know how to print a PDF without help from a PDF reader of some sort (Acrobat Reader, Nitro, etc.), then how is it that I can drag, drop and print, but I can't print from within Acrobat Pro itself? Meanwhile, all other apps print just fine to any given printer.
FYI... this question has languished for two weeks with no solution at experts-exchange.com. I've never stumped them before. I've never waited more than 24 hours for an answer there before, and usually a solution takes just an hour or two. This suggests to me that my situation is quite rare. Can anyone get me on track?
