Printing From Firefox

I am having a problem printing from firefox. the print window pops up, i click print and then I get the spinning beachball. I am using 10.4.6. its a standalone eMac with three users on the computer. Here is the twist... The Administrator can print from Firefox with no problems, but when I login on as the other user who has admin rights I can no longer print. I have no problem printing from any other application

If you haven't done so already, open Disk Utility (Applications > Utilities) and run Repair Disk Permissions.
If that doesn't help, have a look at the cups error log and see which process is having trouble when the other accounts try to print. The log can be found via System Profiler > Software > Logs.

Is there anything I can do to get a flash movie to print from
Firefox or some other browser running under Linux?
I created a program in flash that uses both flash and php to
access MySql but when the data is displayed in the movie, it can
not be printed. Tried the browser print button, flash menu and
action script to print but only get blank page.
    Any Ideas?

I have not tried a different distro, could this be a RH

on peopletools 8.44 firefox is not a certified platform. from peopletools 8.48 they started certifying firefox and safari.
please look into My oracle support for a list of certified browsers and platforms on Peopletools 8.44 release.
please try to use IE as a default browser.

  • All of a sudden I can't print from Firefox. I reinstalled the printer and also reinstalled Firefox. No joy. I can print from Safari.

    I have an IMac, OS X 10.5.8
I've had it for more than a year and have always been able to print from Firefox without a problem. I have an HP deskjet 6850 printer.
Now I can't print from Firefox. When I hit print, I get the dialog box but if I click print -- or even click "preview" nothing happens. The dialog box disappears and nothing prints.

  • I can not print from Firefox, Firefox is not responding

I can not print from Firefox on one PC in my office. At one time printing was operable from Firefox on this PC, the user told me about one month ago Firefox would no longer print.
I went to the users PC - Windows XP Professional SP3 - Firefox opens no problem, I can go to any website, but when I click on the print icon, or file, print, nothing happens. I do not see the print icon in the task bar which shows you something is spooling, printing, I open Task Manager and I see Firefox is Not responding. I must end task.
We can print anything else on the PC, Internet Explorer 8 prints successfully, just Firefox will not print.
I also uninstalled the network printer, re-installed. Connected to another network printer, Firefox still will not print.
I also uninstalled the latest version of Firefox on the PC 15.0.1, went back a few versions and Firefox still will not print.
Can someone assist why Firefox refuses to print and when you try to print Firefox goes to a Not responding status ?
    Thanks,
    Bob

  • Can't print from Firefox - "Printer Error- An unknown error occured while printing"

I am unable to print anything from Firefox! I am using Firefox 19.0.2.
I performed a "Reset To Default State" for Firefox yesterday to fix some performance issues. Those issues are resolved, but now I can't print!
I am able to print to 'Microsoft XPS Document Writer' and save as an .xps file. But I am unable to actually print to my HP LaserJet printer.
Here are the steps I have taken trying to resolve the printing issue-
I opened the prefs.js file in WordPad and removed all entries beginning with 'print'.
(When it did not resolve the issue, I restored the prefs.js file with a backup)
I downloaded and installed the latest driver for my printer from HP.
Still unable to print from Firefox after taking those steps. Note that I am able to print from any program other than Firefox.
What steps can I take to fix this issue?

    @sklein65
I thank you for your reply. My problem occurred when trying to print to the XPS printer, I found, that, if I disabled the UAC, the problem went away. You may want to give this a try. You can access you UAC by entering 'UAC' in the Window's Search Box. I had an additional problem with my 'Pinned' websites becoming unusable, I traced this down to Firefox version 24 (beta channel). I reverted back to v23.0 and I never had the problem, again. Note, that, all versions of v23.0 worked, the problem occurred when v24 was installed. I disabled all auto updating in Firefox.

  • Can't print from firefox with HP Pro 8600

I just bought an HP Officejet Pro 8600.  I am able to print through Internet Explorer but not Firefox. The printer icon comes on but  It just won't print anything.  I am using Windows XP.
My second problem is - I can receive faxes and fax to a person with a separate number from their home number.  But I can't fax to a person who has the same number as their home phone and fax.
Any help on these 2 issues will be so appreciate!

    HI sjane39,
Here is a support page for troubleshooting printing from Firefox. It appears as though if you can print from IE that your print drivers are installed and working properly. It sounds like a setting in Firefox.
Let us know if this helps.
For your fax issue you can run the Fax Diagnostics Test. It will help diagnose and resolve common fax issues.
Also let us know about this one.
    Good luck.
If I helped you at all it would be great if you clicked the blue kudos star!

  • I cannot print from firefox. I can print from open office. It seems to have something to do with when frames open because in IE, I can print a whole page, but when I try to use a print button embeded in a page or frame it does not work.

Cannot print from firefox at all.
In Internet Explorer, I was able to print by pushing the print button, but when opening a frame, like in mapquest, the embedded print button brings up an options window that has print frames options in it, but when hit OK in this box, a second error box comes up with a yellow exclamation point and nothing prints. I have a feeling that it is the same problem with both browsers, but would prefer using firefox. Can you help with this?

Yes, I tried that.   The files were ordered by their original numbers as imported from the camera, but I batched them through Phocoshop to downsize all of them into a more manageable file size.   I opened that destination folder from quick time  from where it said select image sequence.   I clicked on the first one and opened it.   The result was a large image with an arrow indicating a movie was ready to go.   When I pressed the arrow, though, I realized it had only imported that one frame so there was no movie.   The files are Jpgs and are about 450 KB each.
To your knowledge are there any links to iMovie tutorials or quick time tutorials that may address this situation?  Maybe there will be one I haven't looked at yet.
        Thanks

  • Cannot print from Firefox

For some time now I cannot print from Firefox. I thought it might be a glitch after an update, but have updated again since and it still does not work. If I try to print to a printer, nothing happens. If choose print and then save to PDF it seems to work, but then when I try to open the file I get an error message from Adobe saying "There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired.". On the other hand, I can print and save to PDF from Safari without any problem. I am using Mac OSX 10.5.8, Firefox 6.0.2.
Any help would be much appreciated!

    Hi,
    Please do a CLEAN install:
Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a Clean reinstall. This means you remove Firefox program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:
Note: You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.
Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu).
Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
    Windows:
    C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
Mac: Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.
Linux: If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see Install Firefox on Linux. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.

  • MacBook Pro unable to print from Firefox

    Hello,
Fairly new to the mac world. I recently purchased a MacBook Pro and it has been running great! I had no problems printing or creating pdfs from Mozilla's Firefox. After running some regularly scheduled updates, I can no longer print from Firefox, either directly connected to the printer or to create a pdf document. I can print and create pdfs from safari as well as word documents. All my software updates are current. Anyone have any suggestions?

You could try deleting just the FF application from the Applications folder and downloading it again. Your cookies, bookmarks, and history are stored elsewhere so would not be affected.
It's possible that repairing permissions might find an ownership issue. That's the easiest thing to try.

  • I can't print from Firefox (on a MacBook) since I tried to instal the new version. How do I uninstall it (all components), and then reinstall?

Can't print from Firefox - it crashes.
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
    == I upgraded ==
    == User Agent ==
    Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10_5_8; en-us) AppleWebKit/531.22.7 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.5 Safari/531.22.7

Also can't print from FF 3.6.12, but it doesn't crash. There's no error message, no job gets queued to the printer. Other applications (including Safari) print without a problem.

Printer Model: CE-875AOS: Mac OS 10.8.3Browser: Firefox v 20.0  When I print from Word or Excel, all is OK.However, when I print from Firefox, any website (example):http://www.gentrustwm.com/wp-content/uploads/GenTrust-Perspectives-April-2013.pdf It prints ONLY in Landscape mode. This truncates pages.I want to change the default setting to Portrait for all printing from Firefox and from Adobe PDF.I can't find a way to change the setting to PORTRAIT.  After Command/P, I see PRESETS/SHOW PRESETS/DEFAULT SETTINGS... this shows Orientation=Landscape. However, can't find the way to change the default. Please advise how to do this?
