Printing from photoshop elements 6 for mac

I have an i-mac and use photoshop elements 6. I have created hundreds of images but when i have contacted printers to print cards i created from these images using indesign i have been told by many printers that there is an issue regarding RGB vs CMYK . Where and how can i get my RGB images printed for a reasonable price. billrene

The main question I have is whether or not there is an efficient way to get a rgb images printed. I have an Imac whose screen is a rgb pattern so even if i convert the images to cmyk (which i can do in a couple different ways -- through indesign or putting the images in photoshop). however since my sreen is a rgb format i can not acurately see the changes I have made through converting to cmyk. also i have several hundred images i have created and would rather not have to convert them all before printing. I have had problems finding a printer that will even attempt to print rgb images. I have checked at kinkos as well as several print shops in montana where i live. each time i am told they can not print rgb. the images I sent to those printers were unusable because of the color distortions. When I talked with some one in the Apple store they suggested I get a different computer. It has also been suggested i get a printer that could be calibrated to the rgb format and i could print the images myself. another suggestion i received was that there may be a calibration program/software that i could use to make the converesion. I noticed that (until midnight PT, anyway) Amazon has Photoshop Elements for the Mac at a lower price than usual. This brings up a question for me: What output formats can Photoshop Elements 6 produce? In particular, can it produce PNG? Also, can it accept PNG as input?

I think that all the formats like .bmp, camera RAW, EPS,PICT, TIFF, Filmstripn, IFF, JPEG, Photoshop pdf, Photoshop RAW,PNG etc are supported for both input and output.

Upgrade from Photoshop Elements 4 for Mac, for Lion?

I have Photoshop Elements for Mac 4. I upgraded to Lion, and now it won't work. Is there an upgrade, or do I need to buy a new product?

Printing from Photoshop Elements 9 with MAC

There is no drop down menu showing paper sizes 4 x 6 or 5 x 7 when printing photos. It is a pain to move everything to iPhoto to print these sizes. How do you do it?

I have a problem with color prints from photoshop elements 12. The pictures are too light and with strange colors. I have a Canon pixma mg615I0 printer and use mac os X yosemite. The pictures are taken with a coanon eos 550d in the color space sRGB. I have followed adobes recommendations and have tried both letting the printer respektive photoshop manage the colors. But nothing works. I see that there are different opinions about which is best to do so I tried both. I have the latest printer driver installed. Can anyone help me with this?

Do the following:
Print a test page from the printer. Perhaps the print head needs cleaning via its maintenance facility.
Let the printer manage colors, not PSE
Calibrate the monitor

I answered my own question: There's a difference between "download' and "install." Hunt for "install" (1.5 hrs in my case) and line up your passwords, Adobe ID, etc, then install. Took 15 min. The right choice shows up in Applications. Now it's on to figuring out why photo selected for edit in iPhoto does not show up on screen in Elements.

Loading .gif animations into Photoshop Elements 8 for Mac

For years I used Photoshop Elements 2 for Windows to make .gif animations with great success.
Then I switched to a Mac and bought Elements 8 for Mac. Now, I am finding out that I can not load any
of the animations I made using Elements 2 into 8. (And yet I can load animations I made using 8 into 2.)
In fact, I can not load any .gif animations into 8, other than if I make one and save it
as .psd. 8 allows me to make them, but not load them as .gifs.
My question: Is there an easy way to load .gif animations into PS Elements 8 so a
person can work on the individual frames? Am I going to have to convert any .gif animation I
want to import into 8 first into .psd? All I seem to get when I try to load a .gif is the message
"This is an animated gif. You can only view one frame." I have searched manuals and the
Net looking for a specific method of using PSE8 to load gif animations intact (not just one frame).
Is it possible? Thanks. (I also have noticed that Elements 8 will not allow me to change the frame
speed -- it is unchangeable at .2)

I followed the directions detailed in your blog entitled "Moving a Catalog from Windows to Mac" as well as your description of the process on page 58 of your book "Photoshop Elements 9 - the missing manual."
I installed PE9 for Windows and converted my catalog. I then backed up that catalog to an external hard drive. I then connected the hard drive to my MAC on which I also installed Photoshop Elements 9 for MAC. I opened the Organizer and tried to restore that converted catalog. However, for each file in the converted catalog, a dialog box opened that said "Could not restore file: /Volumes/Name of External Hard Drive/Filename.JPG."
I then made a second backup of the converted catalog using Photoshop Elements 9 for Windows and then tried to restore that catalog again on the MAC using Photoshop Elements 9 for MAC, again to no avail.
Do you have any idea what the problem may be?

Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 for Mac OS X don't install

Hi, I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 for Mac OS X. My system currently is
System Information:
Operating System OS X 10.8.2 = (12C60)
Locale = pl
Macbook Pro, 10 GB DD3, 1333 MHz, 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7
I tried to install from the disc, but jumped out error that I can not continue with the installation. I also tried the trial version, the same error. ADOBE SUPPORT ADVISOR tool, which reports:
"Inspection could not identify any issues. Please contact Adobe Support for further assistance."
What should I do?

Is anybody use LR with Photoshop Elements 6 for Mac ?

I've just bought Photoshop Elements 6 for Mac on a PM G5 (OS 10.5.2). PSE works but LR don't find it as external editor. I have done what is the Knowledge Base, I've deleted all adobe products (and all related files in /Library an home/Library) and reinstall only PSE 6 and LR 1.3.1 .
In KB, they tell that LR uses a com.adobe.Photoshop.Elements.plist but PSE 6 creates a com.adobe.PhotoshopElements.plist (without a dot between Photoshop and Elements). I've tried to duplicates this file but that does not work.
I don't understand why LR does not provide a way to specify where Photoshop (or Elements) is. I don't know what to do now.

For some reason Adobe decided to change the bundle name for the PSE6 application from com.adobe.photoshop.elements to com.adobe.PhotoshopElements. This change is also reflected in the Preferences file names.
Lightroom (1.3.1 and 1.4) seem to use the MacOS core services to find PSE - but use the com.adobe.photoshop.elements (and com.adobe.photoshop for full PS) bundle names.
The immediate fix, if you're handy with a hex editor, is to go into the Lightroom application bundle, find the file AgEditExternally.lua and patch the string "com.adobe.photoshop.elements" in the file so it becomes "com.adobe.PhotoshopElements" (remember a null terminator and make a copy of the file first!).
If that's Greek to you then either live with it and wait for an official fix or set up Elements 6 as the 'Additional External Editor'.

Can't install Photoshop Elements 10 for Mac: Exit Code 7

I recently purchased and downloaded Photoshop Elements 10 for Mac (my OS is 10.6.8); when I try to install, I receive the error pasted below. I have tried the fixes posted on the following pages and none have worked. Any ideas?

Importing Albums into Photoshop Elements 8 for MAC

Has anyone had experience in importing a series of Albums - created in Photoshop Elements (6) for Windows - into Photoshop Elements 8 for MAC? I have thousands of photos, arranged into separate Albums, that were created in Photoshop Elements for Windows and which were backed up onto an external harddrive, that I want to move into Photoshop Elements 8 for MAC. However, I do not see how to do this. HELP!!!

My printer takes forever to print from photoshop elements 9

my printertakes forever to print from photoshop elements 9 then when it prits the crop is wrong, lots of noise or distortion. It only does this in adobe photoshop elements 9.

Yes it is different from what I see in print preview. I have been saving the file and picking it up in windows to print its so much faster and predictable. It takes forever to print from p-e. I read somewhere the printer needs to be calibrated for color but shouldn't have anything to do with crop or printing speed' Thanks

Adobe PhotoShop Elements 6 for Mac

I've downloaded, without difficulty, the Adobe PhotoShop Elements 6 for Mac 30 day trial onto my Pismo running OS 10.4.8 with 1GB of RAM. As soon as I try to open a photo the application crashes. I know the G3 processor (500 MHz) will be slow but it shouldn't be impossible for it to cope. Adobe's site says that G4 or higher is required. Perhaps I should look at earlier versions of the application. Any advice/suggestions would be appreciated

Can't open Photoshop Elements 6 for mac

I've had Photoshop Elements 6 for mac for over a year and it was working fine although RAW was never able to update. About a week ago I went to open it and it would not open. I've tried daily, have done all Apple updates and all Adobe updates and it still wouldn't open. Then I uninstalled it and reinstalled it and it still won't open. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Over the decades, I've found that HOW you start an application can make a difference. Applications that refused to run when started one way would work very well when started another way. Speaking as an ex-programmer, this shouldn't happen. But someone once said that in theory, there's no difference between theory and practice - but in practice, there is.
You might try to start Elements in different ways to see what happens.
Try to start Elements by going into the Applications folder and actually clicking on the Elements icon.
Try to start Elements by double-clicking on a picture.
Try to start Elements by going into iPhoto, selecting a picture, and clicking on the "Edit" button at the bottom of the screen. I assume you have told iPhoto to open Elements to edit your pictures. I've also told iPhoto to open a picture in iPhoto when I double-click on a picture in iPhoto. I didn't specify that above because I wasn't sure you had done the same.
At some point, you should realize that you're spending a lot of time trying to get an old version of an application to run. Elements 8 is out and is running very well on 10.6.3.
How much time are you willing to spend to get Elements 6 to work? I'm not trying to be a salesman for Adobe, but at some point, you should think of paying the money and buying a copy of Elements 8.
