Printing from Portal (horizontal scrolling issues)

We upgraded to Portal (3.0.9, I think) in March, from WebDB 2.2. We have a couple reports that scroll horizontally fine onscreen, but both the print preview and print function only will print what appears on the screen without scrolling, and don't provide a means to print the subsequent pages (this seems to be an issue regardless of browser). I'm pretty sure this is only happening since we went to Portal - I don't think WebDB had a similar problem.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

There you go then, I'm saving for an Intel, on my brothers rig (intel Quad) these graphic features seem to work fine. There's a lot more Core Graphics stuff going on in LP8 I've noticed, i.e. transparencies & window behaviour so I imagine this will increasingly work better on later mac models with the latest OS. You may however want to try turning some of these window transparencies off or down, which I have seen in some settings or possibly a preference pane.
Anyone else feeling the clunk on there PPC machines vs Intel?

@Frank:Issue is reproducing in sample application as well
To reproduce this issue do following
    1.Use Page Template
2.Use frozen property to one of column so that horizontal scroll bar should appear for rest of the columns.
3.Data should be large enough so that vertical scroll bar should appear

  • Has anyone resolved the printing from Safari with borders issue??

I go to print from Safari and it won't let me set a border, it always prints right up to and over the left hand edge even when set at less than 100%!!
    Can this be corrected??

So it sounds like you're starting with Safari's "Print" command, only there is no printer!  I understand you're trying to end up with PDF, and that this worked for you in the past.
Here's an alternate approach to accomplish what you're trying to do: Take a screen shot.
You can either press Shift Command 3 to take a shot of your entire screen, or Shift Command 4 to take a partial screen shot (scroll the crosshairs over the rectangular region).
The resulting shot will end up on your desktop.

  • Unable to print from Portal inbox

    Hello Gurus!!
I am using a ESS portal. I have some documents that are assigned to me in the portal inbox and when I try to print these documents, I get a error "Invalid plugin detected. Adobe reader will quit". Could anybody please let me know, what could be the issue?
    Thanks much!!
    ~MariaKutty

    Hi,
Do you have any 3rd party plugin installed for Adobe Reader?
If not, close all running instances of Adobe Reader and delete the entire folder at: C:\program Files\Adobe\Reader 10.0\Reader\plug_ins.
Now goto Control Panel > Programs and Features. Locate the entry for Adobe Reader X and chose to repair the installation.
If you do have a 3rd party plugin installed, try uninstalling them and see if the issue is related to the same.
seem babylon plugin might cause trouble with this.

  • Issues rendering WDA from portal

    Hi,
When opening a WDA from portal, we encounter issues where the WDA does not seem to render and hangs.
This issue occurs sporadically.  When this does occur, if re-activate the "UR" service in SICF, the issue goes away.
Can anyone shed some light on this issue?
    Thanks and regards,
    Duke

    Hi Duke,
I don't know that it is even potential a problem - but are you running on a multi server environment? Is it possible that some of the WD components are published and active on one server but not the other? And it might just be a load-balancing issue which is causing the rendering issues- if the app is running on a particular server it doesn't work?
Not sure if you have explored this possibility - but it might be worth looking into. Certainly it seems strange that reactivating the service would cause the rendering to work...
Have you also tried clearing all local files in the browser - clear cookies and cached files? Does that resolve the issue?

  • PDF Printer not working from portal

    Hi Experts,
    We are on EP7 SPS13 & ITS version 620 patch level 20.
problem we face is PDF printing from Portal. But when we directly access through ITS, PDF printer is working.
Could anyone give some inputs on this.

A server exception would suggest you are using Acrobat in the cloud. I don't have an answer in that case other than trying later. Is the Adobe PDF printer indeed installed on your machine or in the cloud?

  • Problem when printing Excel sheets when downloaded from Portal

    Hey,
I am using the desformat=spreadsheet option to generate Excel files for my reports downloaded from Portal and this works fine. The trouble is that when users go to print the downloaded Excel reports it seems that the scale of the report changes and everything is made smaller to try and fit on the one page. The font size decreases, and the scale of the report decreases to the point where the report is nearly unreadable when printed. But when just viewing the reports in Excel everything looks fine.
Any suggestions on why this is happening and how it can be fixed?
    Thanks

    Hello hermannedem,
If you cannot see any content on pages you printed or in print preview, the cause might be margins which are set too high.
#In order to check the margins, we need to go to ''File'' > ''Page Setup''.
#Once this is done, switch to the ''Margins & Header/Footer'' tab.
#Check what's set there under ''Margins''.
The following are the default values for ''Margins'':
    '''Right''': 12.7
    '''Top''': 12.7
    '''Left''': 12.7
    '''Bottom''': 12.7
Check these values accordingly and change them if necessary.
Please let us know, if this resolves the issue.
    Thanks!

  • 8500A horizontal steaks when printing from ipad and other devices

When I print from a remote device (I-pad, I-phone) my documents have horizontal streaks that are bad enough to prevent you from seeing the words.  This also happens when I print from my Mac to the printer when printing a PDF or other document from the internet.  These all are situations where the print window doesn't give an option to print the highest quality.

    Hello  @Alfount ,
    Welcome to the HP forums.
I understand that you are having a print quality issue with your Officejet Pro 8500A.
    I would like to help.
Try going through the following print quality document.

  • HP Officejet 6800 e-All-in-One-series - issues with printing from MSWord / Setup

I have been trying to set up the HP Officejet it seems for over 2 weeks - it works then doesn't - I dont want to return it but if it doesnt work proper .... I removed and reinstalled software - yesterday printed from MSWORD - today its not --- it will print pages off the internet but not from my MSWORD - its set up wirelessly - so frustrated - and what's worse is I am HP lover and now I cant even find a HP support phone number to call and I am pretty sure I remember being told while I was making my purchasing decision I could call HP for support with reference to set up when I bought the printer. Can someone tell me if the printer then not working is normal for this printer - with reference to printing MSWORD etc and if not is there some special place I am suppose to click to fix - thank you in advance

    Hi @TheoD,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
Sorry to hear about your frustration with not being able to print from MS Word with your HP Officejet 6800 printer. But I am happy to help!
It is definitely odd that this printer is not printing from MS Word but will from the Internet. I am not seeing much documentation for an HP Officejet 6800, is it possible that you have the HP Officejet 8600? Just double-checking to make sure I provide the correct information. To find your printer's Product/Model Number follow instructions in this link. Finding Your HP Product Model Number.
For further assistance, I will also need to know what Operating System you are using. Windows or Mac? What version? If you do not know the Operating System you are using, please visit this website. Whatsmyos.
If you are using Windows, please try our HP Print and Scan Doctor, and let me know what happens!
Otherwise, if you still prefer to call someone, please call our phone support at 800-474-6836. If you live outside the US/Canada Region, please click the link below to get the support number for your region. Country-language selector.

  • I am using Aperture 3 to edit RAW and JPEG photo images on my Macbook.  I am having color printing issues with my Canon MP640 Pixma color printer.  The image I see on my macbook is not reciprocated in printing from my printer?

My issue is that I am not getting print quality compared to the image I see on my screen.  Just recently it has been very wishie washie.  My printer is supposed to be excellent for producing color prints
I have contacted Canon support but they told me that the signals that are sent to the printer originate from an Apple product, therefore, it is an Apple mac problem not there's.  I am wondering if my on screen proofing and/or printing profiles are correctly set.  I notice that in 'print profiles' there are nine different options for printing from my particular printer.  How confusing is that?
I have also found that when I choose a high standard print option my photo print comes out very red.
Can some kind person please help me?  I don't seem to be getting any help from anyone else!  Thanks in anticipation.

You didn't mention any color calibration being done on your monitor.  This is an essential part of any color-correct workflow.  What are you using to calibrate your monitor (and your printer)?
Print profiles (for soft-proofing as well as printing) are for specific combinations of paper & printer.  The nine you have are each, most likely, for a common paper (perhaps mfr'd by Canon) to be used with your printer.
I don't know what you mean when you say "I choose a high standard print option".
Have you read the User Manual chapter on printing?
    Printing Your Images
There is also a good appendix on calibration:

    Hi,
I have a BW report iView and I would like to print the BW report from Portal. I don't see an option to print directly from Portal.
Is it the only way to print is "export to Excel and print it from there" ?
We are on EP6 and BW 3.5.
    Thanks for your answers.

    Hi Megha Bokam,
I'm not a BW person but as far as I remember there is an HTML section when creating BW reports.
    Try to put:

  • HP 2055 Printing from selected tray issue

    Hey all,
This is my first time posting here but i need some serious help.
We have a networked HP 2055 printer that 3 workstations are printing to.  We have the native drivers installed on the machines, and have it selected to print tp tray 3 (the bottom) tray only as it has plain letter paper in it.  When the plain letter paper runs out it will start printing to any other tray.  I know on other HP printers you can select the printer to use the requested tray only, but we dont see that on this printer.  How can we fix this issue?
    Thanks
    Rob

When you print from "File", "Print," select Tray 3 specifically in the driver. You probably have the paper source set to 'Automatically Select" now, in the "Paper/Quality" tab.
Although I am an HP employee, I am speaking for myself and not for HP.
