Printing from PS 5 wont "center" on page?

Equipment: MacBook Pro Unibody, 8 gigs of RAM, 300 GB HD.
OS.10.5.8
Epson 4800 printer.
I've just updated from CS3 to PS5, printing to an Epson 4800 with all new drivers. When printing an 8x10 image I can't get the image to center on a sheet of 8.5x11 inch paper. I've tried "center image", and manually adjusting the margins; when using "center image" I always get even borders on top/left/bottom sides and 1 large border on right side when printing landscape. Turning off "center image" and either adding factions of an inch to the left side of a landscape, or grabbing and dragging the image to the right, does move the image over but always cuts/crops off the right side when printed!
Just tried same technique on friends MacPro, same OS & PS5, printing to Epson 3800; his prints ALWAYS center up!

Dave, I did/do have the latest print driver and Firmware update from Epson for my 4800. I just downloaded them again this morning (exact same files) and installed again.
I took your advice and created a Custom Paper size: 8.5x11, with top/left/bottom margins set to 0.00 and right side set to 0.00 & then 0.13 inch; I got the exact same results;
The Print dialog box shows the following;
The image appears to be centered in it's custom paper size BUT when printed the print area always has the following margins;
Left = 8/16in, Right = 9/16in, and the print is always cropped on the RIGHT side buy exactly 1/16 of an inch ;~(
This is driving me nuts and wasted lots of cheap paper and expensive ink (started at 9am, now 2:30pm!) but when I print to regular letter paper I only have to cut down one edge and my prints aren't cropped. Full bleed is limited to certain papers, usually off rolls, I think.
Thanks for the help anyway, BTW, there is no "Non-Printable Area" option anywhere on my Mac, not that I've found anyway.

When I print from Firefox my printer firsts spits out a blank page before printing what was expected.

I have a similar issue -- a page before is printed and after the actual document.
yes -- the blank page appears in preview. I was able to get rid of the first one with this CSS:

But I still get the blank page afterwards.
Not sure why, but I'll let you know if I find anything else

Friends need help desperate-- Second page not printing from the beginning

I have a large layout whose main-section is 8.5x20 (Width&height) which has 2 frames each having 2 repeating frames and about 20 fields in each repeating frame. When I run the report it shows the report right, but when I print, it prints only the first half since the report is long. When I change the property of the second frame of 'Page break before' to 'yes' it prints the second frame on the second page but print it at the same position as it printed on the first, and top of second page is all blank. How do I make to print from the beginning of the second page. Need your help.

Most of the times, these problem are solved by "enclosing" the "Repeating frames" in frames with "Vertical Eleasticity" set to "Variable"

Automatic pdf print from a servlet?

Hi..I have a one servlet that displays a pdf file in the browser (IE). Under normal circumstance, the user would print the pdf from the Acrobat Reader toolbar displayed within the browser. Well now, the user wants to have the pdf file printed automatically, because it is "too confusing" to choose between the browser print button and Reader's! My idea is to have the servlet contain a method for handling pdf print. Any ideas on an existing API or if this can even be done? Thanks!!

I ran into a similar situation recently and found one cheap (smells a bit like a hack) option to give the illusion of direct printing. If you embed Acrobat Reader as an object in your page then you can give it a width and height of 0, effectively hiding it. Then use the print() function to make it print from your own button in the page. Something like this:

<PARAM NAME="SRC" VALUE="/servlet/MyServlet">

Your confused users still have to choose that button however -- I don't think you can override the behaviour of the browser's print button.
I've heard of some plug-in called ActivePDF that might also help you but I don't know much about it (do a search).

Why won't pdf files print from Safari?

why won't pdf files print from Safari? I get blank pages. They print fine from Firefox. OS X 10.8.4

Back up all data.
If Adobe Reader or Acrobat is installed, there should be a setting in its preferences such as Display PDF in Browser. I don't use those applications myself, so I can't be more precise. Deselect that setting, if it's selected. Otherwise do as follows.
Triple-click the line of text below on this page to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
/Library/Internet Plug-ins
In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste into the text box that opens (command-V), then press return.
From the folder that opens, remove any items that have "Adobe" or “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari, and test.
The "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can also interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you may need to remove it as well, if it's present. The same goes for a plugin called "iGetter," and perhaps others.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again.

Designjet 500 doesn't print from Windows 7 64 bits

The problem:
We got our first Windows 7 64 bit laptop and we can't print to our Designjet 500. Windows submits the job to the printer without errors but it doesn't print and the error 61:05 is displayed on the printer's display. The printer is connected to the network infrastructure with HP Jetdirect.
Things I tried:
I tried to connect this laptop directly to the printer through USB.
I tried to print from Autocad and the Windows test page.
I tried the Windows Update drivers and the ones provided in HP's support website.
I tried all the different flavors of the Windows 7 64 bit drivers (w/ HPGL2 card; PS; Plus; 24/42 inches)
I tried to print from a 2nd W7 x64 laptop that I got temporarily just to troubleshoot this issue.
Conclusion:
All 32 bit OS's print as expected. None of the new W7 64 bit systems print. None of the things I tried made a difference, the job is sent to the printer and the error is always the same.
Any ideas to go on from here?

New ImageClass LBP6780dn doesn't "see" paper in tray. Prints from side tray only.

I purchased my LBP6780dn online and it is under warranty, but before calling the company I wanted to ask here, because maybe I am missing something - or doing something wrong.
I have 1 paper tray filled up with paper, but when I send a document to the printer - it won't print because of "no paper".
So I have the side tray opened and it only prints from there.
Questions:
Is there a sensor that I could access or "clean" maybe?

The paper size is A4 and it is loaded in the bottom loader.
Since it can't print from there - I always have some pages in the side opened tray.
The printing problem was intermittent in the beginning.
I initially didn't notice - it was like it would get stuck with this error "no paper" - I had to push few buttons and it would start printing without any further problems.
So it did print from the bottom loader and I did not need to play with the side tray.
I did not change anything since I bought the printer - even the paper is from the same package.
(I do not print much - and it is my first paper pack I bougth)
The printer page shows the following:
Paper Information
Paper Source
Multi-Purpose Tray Loaded LTR (LT)
Drawer 1 Loaded A4
I did not set the paper size.
Does the above mean I need to select A4 for both?

My wireless hp 5660 envy printer prints from my iPad but not my mac book pro

I can print from my ipad but not from my mac book pro, when I try to print from my Mac Book Pro the page just comes out blank...

Welcome to the HP forum.
I understand you can't print from your Mac book pro. I would like to help.
Since your iPad can print I think it is a software issue.
Go into system preferences and remove the printer.
I would also uninstall the HP software if any is present.
You should then verify and repair the disk permissions.
Then do an Apple update.
Reboot your Mac book pro.
Then install the HP software.

PDF Print from joomla

Hello everybody
I am newbie and dont know much about PHP coding.
Now i have a design for a Calender and I am using joomla for my website. In joomla i have a component names Eventlist.
So what i want to do is, to print all the events of everyday as PDF on my Design.
Can anyone help me or explain me what to do.
Is it possible to install Acrobat on my website?

I see by your post that you are having issues printing from a web page. I can help you, but I will need some more information.
In the mean time, try another web browser to see if you have the same results.
What web browser are you using?
What is the full name and product number of your printer? There are several Laserjet 200 series. How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
What operating system are you using?
How to Find the Windows Edition and Version on Your Computer.

[none] on center of page when printing from CS5

All of the sudden a [none] is printing accross everything I print from CS5. There is no error message and the print goes through without a problem.
I can print from MS word and other programs without a problem. I'm printing to an HP3800 and my OS is Win7.
Any help would be appreciated!

I did the ctrl-alt-shift pressed while starting photoshop. I also uninstalled the only plugin I had installed.

Just updated macbook running snow leopard it is now 10.6.8
and pages wont allow me to print documents
have tried some of the answers others have provided but to no avail
the printer drivers are there as can print from web pages and other stored documents that do not need pages to open
at a loss what to try next

What exactly have you tried as suggested by those other answers? The usual cause with Pages is that you have the trial of iWork installed & it is past 30 days. You need to delete the trial & then reinstall from the boxed DVD or the Mac App Store. The files to delete are the iWork ’09 folder from the main HD > Applications; the iWork ’09 folder in HD > Library > Application Support & the individual iWork application plist files found in HD > Users > (your account) > Library > Preferences for each user. Yvan Koenig has written an AppleScript that removes the files. You can find it on his box.com account in for_iWork'09 > other_iWork'09 items > uninstall iWork '09.zip.
Also, please do us all a favor & don't use all capitals in your posts, either the body of the post or the title. All caps is the internet equivalent of shouting & is very hard to read.

I can't print web pages since a recent upgrade to 4.01. The print command works but the page comes out empty. right now a copy the link to IE and print from there. HELP!

When printing from the mozilla 4.01 browser the printer spits out blank pages. It seems like it happened after downloading and running mozilla 4.01 browser.
I have to copy the link to IE (boo!) to print the coupon or page on my printer.
Why?

The "Use custom settings for history" selection allows to see the current history and cookie settings, but selecting this doesn't make any changes to history and cookie settings.
Firefox shows "Use custom settings for history" as an indication that at least one of the history and cookie settings is not the default to make you aware that changes were made.
If all History settings are default then the custom settings are hidden and you see "Firefox will: (Never) Remember History".
"Never Remember History" means that Private Browsing is active and "Always use private browsing mode" gets a checkmark.
You need to remove the checkmark on "Always use private browsing mode" to leave Private Browsing mode or chose the "Remember History" setting.

Full page prints from iPhone but not from iPad using photo app with AirPrint ? iPad only prints 4x6 on full size paper. It's an HP 8600.

I also have this problem printing photos from an iPad to an Epson WF-2540 printer. It prints only 4x6 and without border (so print starts at extreme top left corner of paper). Borderless printing is not selected on printer. Printing a square photo just crops to 4x6 size.
