Printing full calendar invitation?

I use OS X Mail and iCal connected to my company's MS Exchange server. Sometimes a co-worker sends a calendar invitation (using Outlook) with lots of agenda details in it. I'm trying to find a good way to print that.
iCal has an option to print the day's events in list format, but the output is in two columns and a few of the lines write over each other and are completely unreadable.
If I try to print the invitation as it came to me in Mail, the output has an iCal icon showing the attachment -- not the contents of the attachment.
So, short of copy/paste into TextEdit, Word, etc, is there a clean way to print this

It's your lucky day. I found your question while looking for the answer. Seeing as no one answered you, I had to keep looking ... and I found it.
While viewing the message, click on View -> Message -> Plain Text Alternative. (The keyboard shortcut is <option> + <command> + .) Then you'll be able to print the full message, including the event details.
You're welcome.

Thank you so much... I put this in another thread too, but, through help I learned that it is the errors that's causing this. The problem is that I don't know enough to fix it. It happens in a nested table, (don't know CSS well enough either to use it instead) and I can't figure it out... its a full page table, 50% on each side, and a center cell that should contain a same-size nested table... as in, I want to put all the content in the center.
The error:  "table" is not allowed within: "tr"

  • Printing/Preview Calendar Month View shows no appointment

On some clients when the user clicks on Calendar and then choose print calendar both preview and the print(obviously) show no calendar events. There are calendar events on those days and other users with some of the same calendars can print.
We've updates the client to 2012 SP2, Firefox is the latest and we tried changing IE to be the default browser in case that was involved. We also changed their default printer to be the same as a working client and rebooted the workstation. No effect - although changing the default printer ended up showing a gray screen instead of at least just a blank calendar. We also checked all options to see that they were the same as a working client.
I am at a loss. Does anyone have any other ideas as to what to try to get this fixed. They really need the option to print their calendars on a regular basis. Thank you.

    Hi Laura,
I see TID 7011876 that talks about "Unable to print shared or subscribed calendars" and how it prints just a blank page with date range. Our problem is similar - even the print preview comes up grey. We seem to have fixed it on one workstation with a client repair install from another Windows profile but it's a fluke because it hasn't fixed anyone else.
Anything that you can do to help us get this through to Novell is so greatly appreciated. This is a major problem for us. I have full departments that have migrated from using Google calendars to GroupWise. As an organization we are trying to all use the same calendaring system. Some of my departments have a real need to print and cannot do so. This is keeping them from communicating with staff. That TID I mention is from SP1 and listed Reported to Engineering in March.
I know in Enterprise Calendar it would seem that printing to paper would be a low priority but my Administrators have shown me very good reasons to do so. Hopefully, Novell can look at this as more of a priority to fix. We are on SP2 at this point. Thanks again. 8^D

  • Accepting calendar invites puts appointment at wrong time

When I get a calendar invite via Mail on my iPhone 3GS (iOS 6.1.3) and accept it,  it puts
the appointment in the calendar based on the invite time basis (eastern time) rather than converting it
to my iPhone time zone (mountain time).    If I pull that same email invite up on my iMac Mail program and click on the
link then accept it, iCal on the iMac places it at the right time.   And, when I sync the iPhone with the iMac,  the appointments transfer correctly.
I have time zone support on settings set to mountain time on the iPhone.   Is there some other setting I have to make to
have the iPhone "read" these invites correctly?  Any clues as to getting this corrected would be appreciated.

    Hello Bruce,
Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities.  You may need to turn off the Time Zone Support for the calendar entries to match your current time zone on your iPhone:
If you do not use Time Zone Support, your iOS device will default to the current clock setting. iOS devices that are location aware will automatically set their time zone, date, and time using Location Services. You can verify your current date and time settings in Settings > Date & Time.
To disable Time Zone Support for calendars
Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
    Scroll down to Calendars.
    Tap Time Zone Support.
Slide the slider for Time Zone Support to OFF.
You can find the full article here:
iOS: How to adjust Time Zone Support for calendars

I hope this helps get you back on track!
    All the best,

  • Printing a calendar, help!

Hi, I never used this feature before but now I'd like to create a calendar and print it at home. I exported it in pdf but I cannot manage to set it in order to fit an A4 sheet. The problem is it prints in one sheet the photo and in the other the calendar, so it would be 24 sheets for the months plus one for the cover. Any ideas? Thanks

    AU:
There is a way you can print a calendar to A4 paper, both sides. First do a Print to PDF with the option Save PDF to iPhoto as seen in this screenshot:
This will create a 2000 x 1600 pixel jpg file of each page of the calendar. Once in iPhoto you can print a photo page onto A4 borderless paper, turn it over and print the corresponding calendar on the reverse side.
If you want to create a higher resolution jpg for printing you can edit the Send PDF to iPhoto workflow with Automator and change the dpi setting from 200 to 300. This will create a 3000 x 2400 pixel jpg of each page.
The workflow to edit can be found in the HD/System/Library/PDF Services folder. It's called Save PDF to iPhoto.workflow. Make a copy of it, drop it on the Automator icon to open in Automator and make the necessary edits. Name the copy appropriately and put in the same folder with the original workflow.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There's now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • Mac Mini envelopes printing full page size from contacts

    Good day.
    So here’s my story.
In early summer I printed out enveoples form "Address Book" for our wedding invitations from a Macbook pro 2.16 GHz running 10.6.8. Everything worked out perfectly.
I then got a Mac Mini 2.7 GHz Core i7  for a wedding gift and I did a data migration from my Macbook Pro to the mac Mini. It was running 10.8.5 and is now running the latest version or Maverics. The printer I used for both envelope printing jobs, an HP CM1415fnw color MPF has also been updated to the latest software version.
The problem I am having is that the Mac mini will NOT print envelopes in the custom envelope size, it always prints full page. It has done this since the data migration form the Macbook Pro running "Address Book" to the Mac Mini 10.8 running "Contacts". I thought is was an operating system issue so I waited for the new OS Maverics.  I did another print out from both computers tonight to see if the issue had resoleved it's self. NOPE. I even do a print preview on the mini which loads up Preview and it shows the custom size, though it prints out full page
All settings on both computers are the same for the custom envelope size.
Anyone know how I can fix the paper size issue?
    Thanks for anyhelp I get

    Hi Rodger_
Thank you for the additional information, it was helpful.
I was speaking with one of my colleagues and we would like you to try the following steps. Once you have completed the steps please try printing again.
    1)    Please reset your printing system, I have included a document on how to do this. Please be aware that this reset deletes all print settings and pending print jobs from your Mac.
    2)    In the "Printers & Scanners" please click on the '+' and choose "Add another printer or scanner from the options (see screen shot)
    3)    Choose your Laserjet CM1415fnw and at the bottom where it says "USE" please change it to the HP Laserjet (see screen shot) instead of AirPrint

  • Outlook calendar invitations showing up as .ifb files in Mail

Up until this morning I was able to accept Outlook calendar invitations sent by clients from their PCs. They came in Mail and showed up as .ics file attachments, and would populate iCal perfectly.
Suddenly, now all invitations are showing up as .ifb files. They open as text files and won't work with iCal. It's not the sender's problem, as she was sending invitations just this morning that seemed to work fine.
    Any suggestions?

Use Edit > Paste Special > Text only.
This strips away the MS Word formatting.

  • How do i send a calendar invite

how do i send a calendar invite from the iphone?

The only documentation that comea withe iPhone is a quick start guide. The full manual is online. The section on the calendar says:
    Invitations
If you have an iCloud account, a Microsoft Exchange account, or a supported CalDAV account, you can send and receive meeting invitations.
so if you calendar is not one of the above (on the server side) is not one of the above you can't send invitations
As to when Apple will add the ability we are all just users so we would have no idea but it's not up to apple as it's having the support for invitations in the underlying calendar system

  • HT4489 CAN YOU PRINT YOUR CALENDAR

Can anyone tell me if you can actually print the Calendar from Icloud.com?  It's nice to hold in your hand on IPhone, but it's also nice to print it and see the full visual.

Yes - as long as you use a third party app. The built in calendar has no print feature in it.  I'm not familiar with it but take a look at CalPrint for the iPad in the App Store.

  • My Outlook/iCloud calendar invites to others appear to work on my end and sync with my PC and mobile, but when other people "accept" the invite, it will not populate/add in to their calendar. How can i fix this without turning off iCloud?

My Outlook/iCloud calendar invites to others appear to work on my end and sync with my PC and mobile, but when other people "accept" the invite, it will not populate/add in to their calendar. How can I fix this without turning off iCloud?
I am at a new office that uses Outlook (not Outlook Exchange) which does not sync with my mobile... I just got iCloud set up on my PC to sync my contacts, calendar, reminders, etc... The sync worked (not without flaws, but the other issues seem solvable... I think), so that i can now see all my appointments on both my phone and on my PC. The problem I am having is that iCloud moved all of my calendar items from Outlook into iCloud calendar and now when I send out meeting/calendar invites the recipients may accept them, but the meeting does not get added to their calendar. This is a huge problem and may mean that i need to turn off iCloud.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
    Thanks!

I am replying to my own post here as I seem to have fixed the problem.
I do have some calendars that are shared. Some of those are shared with users who have time zone support turned on. So i activated time zone support on my iphone, then deleted my icloud subscription. I then signed in to icloud again and voila... problem solved.
It is a weird one as the other calendar views were always fine and when you opened an event that appeared in the wrong day (on list view), the correct date of the event was shown in the information...
one more bug in a complicated system I guess

  • How do I print monthly calendars in iCal 5 with location?

    Hello,
Our office uses iCal to manage our schedule. I cannot get a monthly printout from iCal that displays location information i.e. information entered as location on iCal. Previously on our windows machines we had to use Outlook Calendar Assistant for this (which I still can't understand because this seems to be a very trivial problem, at least to me). The printouts are demanded by some older employees that absolutely need paper versions.
Can I export an iCal file to another program to print my calendar the way I need it? Can I do it from iCal directly? Outlook 2011 isn't an option at the moment because it does not sync with Google Calendars yet. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    With pleasure!
Great to know it worked for you

  • Printing blank calendars in iCal

How do I print out a range of BLANK calendar months (eg, October to December) that I can then fill in manually?

I'm glad you figured it out because I don't think I would have.
I think your request (ie printing blank calendars) is unique enough as to not be found in any help or tutorials but I think after reviewing some info and playing around w/ iCal you'd discover the answer yourself. You might want to look here for a nice overview: http://www.apple.com/support/ical/ and especially the link: http://www.apple.com/support/mac101/work/10/ as well as iCal's Help menu.

  • Printing 'checked calendars' in iCal

I have 25+ calendars in iCal and always found the following functionality useful (which is described in iCal 2.0 Help online):
+By default, the calendars that are currently selected in the main iCal window will be printed. Selecting or deselecting calendars here does not affect what's checked in the main calendar view, it only affects what is printed.+
I didn't realize just how useful this feature was until I upgraded to 3.0 and it stopped working this way. Now whenever I go to print a calendar, ALL calendars are checked to be printed as the default and I have to uncheck the ones I don't want one by one (or by group).. even more annoying because the window they give you to do this in the Print dialogue box is tiny not resizable.
Has anyone else experienced this? Any help on how I can get iCal to work properly? I checked iCal help within the application and it says the default is the same as I listed above from 2.0. Your feedback and help is much appreciated!

I'm adding a "me too" too. This is making me crazy. I have about 10 calendars that I have to uncheck to print one calendar every day!

  • How can I print my calendar from I-Cloud?

How can I print my calendar from I-Cloud?

If you computer is syncing calendars with iCloud, you can print it from your computer's calendar program (such as Outlook or Mac iCal/Calendar).  Otherwise, you'll have to take a screenshot of it on icloud.com and print the image.

  • How can I print the calendar from my iPad?

How can I print the calendar from my iPad/iPhone 4?  I would like each month on a separate 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper.  Thanks!

What print app do you have? I think that you need certain printing apps in order to print the iPad calendar. The print feature is not built into the app itself ...As far as I know.
