Printing Gartner Templates

I'm having such a difficult time transferring gartner template 60022 to illustrator. The margins don't show up when I save it as a PDF from Word. I've even tried tracing the margins but no matter what I've tried it will not print out correctly.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can fix this?
Thank you!

It looks like that's a template for some sort of table card. If they've made a Word template, it probably won't translate to Illustrator very well.
Does Gartner offer a template that is just a PDF? If not, you're probably going to have to measure the paper you're printing on and construct a simple template in Illustrator. That shouldn't take too long, as compared to the time it will take to figure out how to make the word-illustrator translation work.
In illustrator: show rulers, drag guides across the Illustrator canvas to the right x and y dimensions that you need.
Or you can cheat a little and make rectangles the size of your cards and place them all over the page, then apply the guides. And if you need repeated elements on your card, play with Symbols. They're super handy.
Then save it as a template so you can reuse it.
Hope that helps a little.

  • Print Module templates layouts do not update on the fly

    Print layouts do not update on the fly when attempting to choose between various Print Module>Template Browser> Lightroom or User templates. This occurs in all three Layout Styles. The very first layout chosen in Single Image/Contact Sheet, Picture Package, or Custom Package is the permanent 'default' and cannot be changed. The Preview will show as expected however any image stays stuck in the very first layout I chose after installing LR4 beta.
    For example, I first chose Template Browser>Lightroom Templates>Maximum Size, and Layout Style>Single Image/Contact Sheet. Clicking through any other Templates (Lightroom or User defined) will alter the preview but not the layout display in the Print window. Same problem in either of the other Layout styles. I have been trying for days to rectify this, but it seems somehow more difficult than LR3. and not what I expect.
    As a comparison, using the same steps in LR3 works perfectly as all print template/layouts can be changed on the fly as expected. I have no problems generating different layouts in LR3 and have been using LR print module since version 1 without this issue.
    Is this a bug or are there any extra steps or workarounds I have not discovered? Any other testers seen this?

    Update with more info. What am I doing wrong, if anything?
    Print layouts do not update on the fly when attempting to choose between various Print Module>Template Browser> Lightroom or User templates. This is not a hang since the layouts do not change after the initial choice no matter how much time elapsed.
    iMac OS 10.6.8. 8GB RAM.Processor Intel Core 2 Duo. NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GS.
    The steps as follows:
    1) Lightroom 3.6 & LR4Beta exist side by side.
    2) LR4 Beta> Print Module;
    3) From filmstrip choose image;
    4) Template Browser> Lightroom4Beta Templates>Maximum Size;
    5) Preview displays as expected;
    6) Layout Styles>Single Image/Contact Sheets
    7) Template Browser> Lightroom4Beta Templates>click through any other templates (Lightroom or User defined);
    8) Image layout in main window does not update;
    9) Previews update;
    10) Layout Style>Picture Package;
    11) Template Browser>Maximum size is then automatically shown, however the template in the main window is actually (1) 7x5, (2) 2.5x3.5;
    12) Any further attempts to change the layouts regardless of Style Layout choices are not successful.
    13) Close LR4Beta>re-open LR4Beta;
    14) Repeat test;
    15) Print Module layouts do not update on the fly as expected;
    16) Close LR4Beta and all applications;
    17) Reboot iMac.
    18) Open LR4Beta only;
    19) LR4Beta>Print Module>Template Browser >Lightroom Templates>Maximum Size;
    20) Image displays in main layout window with Template and Preview display as expected;
    21) Choose different image>Template Browser>Lightroom Templates>Maximum Size;
    22) Click through templates, layouts DO NOT update in main window although previews do automatically update.
    23) CONCLUSION - In Lightroom 4 Beta>Print Module>Template Browser, image layouts do not change after initial choice as expected.
    I posted this on Photoshop.com as a problem.

  • Edit print layout template for dunning letters

    Hi,
    Our customer want to edit the dunning letter template. They want the TOTAL which is a system variable field be seen also in the start of report
    I copied this field from "Field_057," which is the field with the same name in the end of the report, then pasted it in the above area. (because I wanted to show the total due balance of the BP in the middle of the report as well, However, I believe merely copy and pasting in another area does not work. The following error occurs if I try to print the template above:
    Printing error:Invalid variable number (RPT-6300)(Field: Field_203) Variable '148' [Message 200-38]
    The selected field ("Field_203" is what I believe causes the error when printing because only when I add this field does the error occur).
    Can you help how we can have the same data in the start of report.
    Thanks,
    Janice

    Hi Gordon,
    Thanks for your reply. Do you mean it is not possible to have the same data in the start of report? Is there any other workaround like creating a fromula?
    Thanks,

  • Problems with check printing RTF template

    To BI Publisher Gurus,
    I am working on the check printing RTF template and facing a few issues with page breaks, filling the insufficient invoice lines with template and positioning of the table(s) itself inside the RTF template.
    For page break, am using the following piece of code just before the end of all of my FE loops.
    <xsl:if xdofo:ctx="inblock" test="position()-1<count($inner_group)"><xsl:attribute name="break-before">page</xsl:att:attribute></xsl:if>
    the $inner_group is my group for G_INVOICES to loop through all the invoices of a check in G_CHECKS group.
    The problem I'm facing is, everytime a check is printed its printing a blank page in between. Searched all the earlier forum posts but none of the solutions worked in my case.
    Second issue, for filling the insufficient invoice lines (in my case, am printing 26 invoices per page per check), the call to the blank lines template is repeating twice and found no way to get rid of it.
    Third issue, if the check is running into a second page, the call to the blank lines template does not work and the position of the bottom part of check is getting misaligned.
    I am ready to send my template and the sample XML file to look at. Thanks for your time and effort.

  • Change font size in printer friendly template

    Basically I want to change the font size only in the printer friendly page of the report and not in the orginal report. Any ideas?

  • Documentation for Print Publish Templates

    Is there documentation from Adobe, or from some enterprising soul, for the code used in the Publish to Print Doc templates (Handouts, Lesson, Step by Step, Storyboard)?
    Since the templates that ship with CP are so lousy, I'd need to either modify or create my own. I can get into them, but don't really know what to do except brute force, one-var-at-a-time modification/testing.
    I see that some folks are just living with it and others have completely given up and developed workarounds, but are there others who have conquered this?

    Hello Jeff,
      Thanks for the quick response.  Your idea for subdiagram lables does indeed provide a good method to add a description to the diagram, and I will be using it.  Still would be nice to have a description "outside" of the diagram, as it would stand out better in the html file, but this will suffice.  Any other suggestions are still welcome.
    Thanks again,

  • Saving print layout templates

    In a future release, would it be possible to have a function whereby you can save your print layouts in a folder, as a backup precaution incase you accidentally delete or alter an original one?  At the moment, you can only back the PLD templates up via daily database backups.  I have a customer who has spent a very long time perfecting their print layout templates and he thinks this functionality would be very useful and reassuring.
    Thanks

    Hello Kate,
    Within 8.8 release, we are introducing new control of 'Report and Layout Management' which enables joint management of PLD and Crystal Reports layouts. This enhances the usability of maintenance of print layouts and should reduce a risk of accidential deletion of the print layout.
    Moreover, Crystal Reports can be also saved outside SAP Business One as a separate file (similarly like those for XL Reporter).

    I have to print a report in printer frndly format that has Print and return commands on the page . I have actually got the format but
    1, I need to be able to change the size and shape of the fonts in the report,
    2, It should fit into A4 size sheet.
    3, right now i am getting dotted lines after each record , it should changed into a horizontal line.
    Is there any example which explains this to me.

    Hey Lucy,
    Look at both links, that last link has print-friendly on yes, this will make the theme use the print friendly template.

  • Editing the Printer-Friendly Template

  • Help needed with Printer Friendly template.

    Hi
    I know there loads of posts on here about "Printer Friendly" Templates which are far from being printer friendly. My problem is that most of my reports are very wide and therefore if you print it you loss the right hand side of the report even if you change the page layout.
    Any Ideas or working examples of getting my reports onto a page without it been cut off?

    Can anybody help me?

  • No Lightroom Templates in Print Module Template Browser

    I recently installed Lightroom 1.1 on a Windows XP Prof PC. Print/Template Browser/Lightroom Templates is empty, although other templates (e.g. Web) do appear when the appropriate module is selected.
    I looked for these templates on the Lighroom CD, but didn't find any.
    The folder C:\me\Application Data\Adobe\Lightroom\Print Templates contains only another empty folder User Templates. Other folders do have templates, for example, Text Templates.
    Do I have to do something special to install these, or if not, and they weren't installed as they should have been during installation, where can I find them?
    Thanks,
    Martin

    What photograph size on what paper size do you want to print?
    You can select Contact Sheet / Grid as you layout engine and adjust the number of rows and columns.
    If you want to print different photographs at arbitrary positions, you'll have to wait for LR3.

  • Printing Multiple Templates' output in a single PDF

    Hi All,
    I have a requirement wherein I have to print the data from several or a few templates into a single pdf.
    Requirement:
    All the Service Contracts created on a particular day will need to be printed in a single report
    For eg: If there are 5 different Service contracts created on a particular day, then each of the service contracts will be associated with a different template, but the output should be printed within a single report.
    Also, there can be more than one instance of the same service contract.
    Explanation
    Suppose I have SC1....SC9 and I have 5 templates Template1....Template5 and each of the SC1...SC9 may or may not be associated with a template
    Consider that SC1..SC5 has to be printed in Template1, SC6, SC7 in Template2
    SC8,SC9 to be printed in Template3.
    Issue
    Now I do get the output in a single report, but I get 2 blank pages when there is no data for Template4 and Template5.
    Approach
    I have create a single template file with all the 5 template in it and each of the templates are in a single page.
    TEMPLATE 1+
    COMPANY LOGO
    <?for-each-group:G_TEMPLATE;TEMPLATE?> <?if:TEMPLATE = ‘TEMP_A’?><?for-each: G_MAIN?>
    ..... Template Body.....
    <?split-by-page-break:?> <?end if?> <?end for-each?><?end if?> ?><?end if?> <?end for-each-group?>
    The same thing repeats for Template2... Template5, with only the difference being the Template Body.
    Subtemplate Approach not feasible:
    I have worked with sub-templates and I know for sure that it is not feasible for this approach becuz all the pages have to be printed within the single report
    Is there a way to resolve this issue of eliminating the blank pages when there is no data in the xml file for the particular template.
    Thanks in advance to all who might give a thought to this

  • BPA Balance Forward Bill Print Program template (rel 12.0.5)

    Hello,
    Has any one tried to get the xml file for this concurrent program?
    This is the only program that has beginning balance in it's out put. I tried Statements and Invoice Print program but either of them do not spit the beginning balance unless you customize it. If any one has worked with this, could you please share the template and the process to get the xml file from this program?

    Your question was "... but the font on the footer is much larger than that of the template", yes?
    I only can repeat, look at the difference of:
    1. index.html (Font-size > medium) >
    2. Calendar.html (Font-size > no entry):
    > "... font on the footer is much larger than that of the template",

  • Need help for Lightroom Print&Web Templates

    Hi,
    I have just downloaded/installed my official Lightroom version (Mac OSX 10.4) and I have realized that there is no Print nor Web Templates accessible in the Template Browser section. I think I have done a mistake since I have erased completely the files from the beta4 version (including obviously the libraires containing those templates) before installing the official Lightroom V1.
    Can anybody tell me where/how to get those original Adobe Templates files again. I have tried to re-install several times the V1 version but it does not help. Thanks a lot in advance for your help.

    They were in User/Libray/Adobe Lightroom, no at User/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Lightroom
