Printing ID CS4 Spell Check Marks

I'm running ID CS4 on a Mac OSX Leopard. ID has the nice feature of underlining misspelled words, but they are only visible onscreen. I'd like to be able to print these marks. I've looked through the print dialogue box, I've searched help, but with no success. If this is possible to do, can someone tell me how to do it? Thanks.

As far as I know, this is not possible.

  • Spell Check Marks Word with Punctuation as Misspelled

I am working in 5.5 and suddenly my spell check has a bug. If a word is next to an exclamation point or question mark, it flags it as misspelled. It didn't used to do this.

I have this problem, too; and as ~200 people have viewed this, perhaps others do. Can anyone help?

  • Spell Check Marks Correctly Spelled Words

Does anyone have this problem on their iPad? I'm getting correctly spelled words marked with red underline as misspelled. For example I have had the word "that" marked as misspelled. When I click on the word "that", it does not give me an option for the word. I could go on with several examples of common words that are spelled correctly, but the iPad is marking them as misspelled.

    Thanks! I'll check this out.
And yes that seems to be the problem. The international button is a toggle that goes through all languages set up on your iPad. I have English, Russian, and Spanish. It seems that I have accidentally toggled to Russian and then when I toggled agin, it went to Spanish, which I thought was English.
So the next question I have is if I have the Spanish keyboard on, does it spell check in Spanish?

  • Spell check greyed out

Contribute CS4 spell check is sometimes greyed out.  Why is that and how can I prevent it from happening?
    Thank you.

make sure you are doing it while in a mail composition window, not in message viewer. the spellchecking option is grayed out in message viewer because you can not edit received messages.

  • How can I mark large sections of a topic to be skipped during RH spell check?

I have a RoboHelp Webhelp project in which many of the topics have sample code and other entire lines of package, class, and other names that I want
    the spell checker to bypass.
Unfortunately, there is no option to select the text and mark it to be ignored.
When I run spell check, RH flags certain words or phrases and asks me how to handle them, one at a time.
If I close the spell check dialog, RH bounces right back to the spot where I stopped it during a subsequent spell check.
This is tedious and I end up with multiple <rhignored? = "text to be ignored".> in a single code sample, for example.
Is there a better way to mark sections of text to be skipped?
I see this as basic functionality, and maybe I am missing something I did not find on this forum or in the help files.
    Thanks so much!
    Cynthia
I meant to add that I am using RoboHelp 9 on a PC running Vista.

Sorry but there's no way I have seen. I state that quite categorically as what will hopefully happen is that someone will now respond they do know a way.
I'm not sure I would agree what you want is basic functionality but I do understand your need for it.
The more people who request a feature, the more likely it is to be actioned. Please follow this link.

  • This is a test of mark as question from Spell Check.

This is marked as a question in the main form. I will go to spell check and submit from there. If it isn't marked as a question it is because that setting doesn't persist to the spell check form and subsequent submittal. If that is the case how do we get that fixed?

    Hi Doug,
Yes it is. The workaround is that one can go into the post and set the flag again.
I know this is not great, but works until we find the time to change it.
    Best, Mark.

  • Acrobat 9 Professional - Adding Spell Check before Printing

    Hello,
As a new user and unfamiliar with how to manipulate Acrobat, please help me with setting up a form that automatically detects and alerts the user of spelling errors prior to printing or emailing. The form will be distributed to about 200 users so all settings may not all be automatically set in Adobe (e.g. spell checker box checked in preferences) among each user's Reader copy. But the idea is to make sure this form is completed without spelling errors, so how could the form be programmed for any or all of the following :
    1) The spell checking in preferences is automatically set to "checked" upon opening the form.
    2) The form has a PRINT and EMAIL button within it already. How would a script or whatever look like to first spell check the entire document prior to executing the print or email function?
    3) Could a pop-up window be added to alert of spelling errors during the previous process (#2)?
    Thank you.

What type of form are you using? Is it an AcroForm or a Designer XFA form?

  • Can no longer drag icons, copy paste, print, spell check, drag and drop etc

All of a sudden I can no longer do any of thoses things. Also I get a message that ClamAV can not find the scanning agent either (I use ClamXav). the spell check in Safari does not work either. it claims it can not find my printer, and who knows what I did not find yet.
did several restarts. switched users. dumped com.apple.finder.plist to no avail.
    any suggestions?

Create a new account, name it "test" and see how your apps work in that User acct? (That will tell if your problem is systemwide or limited to your User acct.) This account is just for test, do nothing further with it.
Open System Preferences >> Accounts >> "+" make it an admin account.
If the problem is present in the test account also, then it is systemwide. In this case try repairing this with the 10.5.5 Combo Update This is a fuller install, as opposed to an incremental "delta" update so it should overwrite any files that are damaged or missing. It does not matter if you have applied it before.
Remember to Verify Disk before update and repair permissions after update from /Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility.
If the problem does not appear in the test account try starting in "Safe Mode" (It will take a bit more time to startup because it runs a directory check first).
If that works go to System Preferences >> Accounts >> Login Items and remove them. Boot normally and test. If there are still problems, go to ~(yourHome)/Library/Contextual Menu Items and move whatever is there to the desktop. Then do the same with /Library/Contextual Menu Items. Lastly, try moving /Users/Home)/Library/Fonts to your desktop and restarting.
Log out/in or restart, if that sorts it start putting items back one at a time until you find the culprit.
    Let us know.

  • Spell Check Dreamweaver cs4

For spell check in CS4 besides "shift F7", is there a way to setup so that spell checks while I am typing ?
    TIA
    Carl,

    That's a bummer...
I was thinking of switching to Dreamweaver because it's Live View and limited excess tagging.
    I"m rethinking that now...
I work in numerous systems that require web based editing of text (Drupal for one).  These web based editors are a pain when it comes to spell checking!  I type fast and some of my fingers are actually faster than others.  My typical typo is a word that has all the correct letters, but with a couple letters mixed (for example, I might have an 'i' before a 't' instead of after).
I've come to rely on Word helping me to deal with this idiosyncrasy by underlining the misspellings as I've gotten used to for most other editing environments that operate locally on my PC.  I'm going to have to re-think that process now...  I may just stick with Web Expressions which is better about extraneous tags than Front Page was, but doesn't display the Drupal templates as I'd prefer.
I agree that DW should have the in-line spell check - it would not require any additional HTML in the code, would help the developer significantly and is basically a check-list item for most other editing environments where text is a key form of communication!
I understand there is a spell checker that can be done in batch mode - that's great.  However, most of the environments where I do my editing (including many, but not all web pages through some Google add-ins) on both Mac and Windows systems have in-line spell checking...

  • UK spell checker - correct 1 word and the other marked errors dissapear

I use the UK spell checker quite often a few red marked errors appear during typing an e-mail. When I fix one the other marked text are unmarked. Pressing the spell check button just brings up the message you are using a spell as you go bla bla. The problem stared a few weeks ago.

How do you mean "don't know what software I'm using?"
If the phenomenon occurs across most apps that are word intensive, then it appears not to be tied to any one.
Something is recognizing a problem not there & "correcting" it, because I can see it happen & its not all due to operator error typos.
I gather there's predominantly one spell checker engine across most applications, not one for each, if the symptoms are broad. IF that can be pinned on a "spellcheck" function. It isn't strictly a spellcheck.
"Substitutions" yes is more accurate than calling it true spellchecking & I might be rmisrepresenting the phenomenon to call it that.
Whatever is causing it, is learning & auto-correcting words that were may or may not be wrong. 2 letter pairs is mostly what happens. Or a capitalization of the 2nd letter in a word, to match the first letter: "IT" paired at the beginning of a sentence is a common manifestation.
I can't find anything that could be left from an uninstalled test driven application.
Your pointing to "Language & Text" may be valuable. The "ie" & "ei" substitutions are fairly common & German was one of the language options turned on, along with French & Italian – although I'm not sure what that panel even controls. I'm removing all options except English.
I haven't seen a lot about this kind of thing on here, so I am assuming that its rare & likely something not part of the Apple suite of applications. I'm simply trying to narrow down what's going on.

  • Check marks not showing in "options" spell check not working at all.

I am using the latest but not greatest version which is 13. The spell check feature is not working at all. It works in FF 3.6.28 when I remove this great upgrade but of course I always get the standard ,"your version of Firefox is outdated"
The check marks in the option tabs do not show at all. I have to guess if I have something checked or not.
I have I think the dictionary installed. I went to the add on page for American English and added it. It said it did but when I look at my add on list it does not show.
I like Firfox I really do, but I may have to completely delete it and relunctantly use Chrome, because spell check works in it.
It works in Safari, it works in IE, It works everwhere except FF13.

    * You can see which dictionary is selected if you right-click in a text area and open the Languages submenu.
    * Open the "Add Dictionaries" link to install a dictionary if you do not have one.
    * Make sure that [X] "Check Spelling" in the right-click context menu is check-marked.
You can enable or disable spell checking globally:
    * Tools > Options > Advanced : General: Browsing: "Check my spelling as I type"
You can look here for dictionaries:

  • Spell Check All Pages in Dreamweaver CS4

With a new converted web site of over 150 pages I need to spell check the pages.
Is there any extension or method to spell check all of the pages at once?
    Thanks

Unfortunately, you can’t do it.  As I have noted before, Adobe should be ashamed of itself that I have to import my entire site into FrontPage 98 in order to get an effective spell-check.  I get laughed at for using FrontPage, but it's a far better program, sadly.

  • Force spell check before save or print form

    Hello,
I'm using LC Designer 8.2 to create a form & wonder if there a way to set up or scripting a force spell check (like before email send - a spell check box pop up when the send button is selected).

  • Why won't the spell checker learn?

Several times now I've spell checked Numbers documents and told the checker to "learn" unknown words, only to have the same words marked as misspelled or unknown the next time I open the document. Is there some Numbers or system setting that is preventing the spell checker from adding learned words to the dictionary?

    Hi there,
Could you provide the community with a little more information to help narrow troubleshooting? Things like your printer model and your operating system help out a lot.
