Printing in 2.0 with epson r380

I have an epson r380 that I am trying to get to print accurately in 2.0. I am having the same problem I had in 1.5. Colors are not rendered (purple tinge to all photos). Screen color is accurate. When printing in CS3 photoshop there isn't a problem. Printing in iphoto isn't a problem. Just Aperture. Anyone know settings that might help. I have updated to most recent drivers and tested all the different colorsnyc settings for the r380.
Is this a common problem with most people? Do some other printers actually work? If I need to switch printers, let me know.
Thanks,
Joe

Needed to delete all old drivers and reinstall new drivers for 10.5. Had installed new drivers previously but old drivers were still present. Now working wonderfully with Aperture 2.0.

  • Problems printing from photoshop CS4 with epson R2880

I just purchased an epson stylus photo R2880, I thought it was broken due to the fact that I could
not make prints from photoshopCS4.... it goes through all the motions and when its time to print, the soft ware just stops and nothing happens, no warning window, nothing, just no print, I have been three days with epson support by telephone and we have gone through every  possible scenario. I have repaired permissions, I have repaired the disks, I have reinstalled all drivers and I can  print
from iphoto, from epson software, Lightroom and from preview but not from photoshop, I am at my wits end...I have my agent in Italy asking for three new portfolios and I cannot deliver. please help

In conjunction with Jeff's suggestion, I suggest that you remove all of Epson's preferences for your preference folder especially if you are experience some other issues with other software. And especially if you have 10.6.1 installed.

  • Printing in iPhoto 08 with Epson R220

I'm a recent Mac convert and am trying to print using my reliable Epson R 220 printer. The colors aren't accurate and I realize I'm missing some colors in the cartridge. On my former PC I could check the printer utility and run a test to find out which colors are low in the cartridge. I can't seem to get this needed information from my Mac printer utility.Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If you installed the software that came with your printer, check in your Applications folder for the Epson Printer Utility. It gives you the Option to Check the Printer Ink Levels, align the printheads etc. If you don't have the software you can downloaded from the Epson website, the Driver & Support section.

  • Printing Problems in CS4 with EPSON R1900

I recent bought a new Epson R1900 and much to my dismay, I can't print from InDesign or Illustrator (haven't yet tried from Photoshop). Basically what happens is that the printer ignores any settings I configure, and prints with the "Default" settings. So not only can I not control the quality or media type, but by default it uses up the Glossy Optimiser, by assuming I want to print on glossy stock.
My workaround in the meantime is to create everything as a PDF and print from Acrobat. For some reason, Acrobat can talk to the printer.
Has anyone else found these problems? Is there any solution to be had?

Ive gone crazy trying to get ID CS3 to print on my HP Laserjet P1006. Various Adobe techs have spent hours trying to find a fix. They really have been very nice and all tried
to be helpful. And - THANK GOD - most of them spoke English. Im hard of hearing and
unfortunately speak very little Indian. (Someone told me that all ID techs speak english.)
It will print PDF. And CS3 Illustrator and Photoshop will print.
One tech suggested that I download CS4 for the 30 day trial to see if it will print. But, after
reading your problem, I will skip even trying.
For quite a while, I was told that it was an Apple problem and that 10.5.6 was going
to fix it. But it didnt. My printer prints a blank page.
Ive read other CS3 printer complaints. What good is a program that wont print?

  • HT204135 Photoshop CS5 Printing Problem on iMac with Epson 3880 printer

All of a sudden I can't print from Photoshop CS5 on my iMac with OSX Mountain Lion installed.  I am able to print from Illustrator, however.   Have tried to update the Epson 3880 driver. After clicking on "Print", it doesn't register with the computer, and from then on, the "Print" option is greyed out.

Are you using moab icc profiles or are you using one of the epson profiles?
I always use the moab profiles which you can download from their Web site. This way you are matching the specific epson printer with the specific moab paper.
At that point you change the printer manages color to Lightroom manages color and select the specific profile. Very easy to do - they even have instructions on the Moab site for installing the profiles if you haven't done that.
Once installed you can also use them through the system print dialogs in PS but it is really much much easier to use in LR - Since coming on board with LR last summer, I have switched to doing ALL printing from LR. Since you mentioned that you are having the same problem with LR and PS, I'm betting you are using epson profiles and this will solve your problem.
    Hope so

  • Printing on Preprinted form with EPSON LQ300 & EPSON LQ500 dot matrix print

    Dear Expert,
im having requirement to print form on preprinted page whose size is 6*9 inches which is smaller than A4 size paper and using EPSON LQ300 & EPSON LQ500 dot mattrix printer. my question is that
1)do i need to create diff.  o/p type for diff printer?
    2) also do i need to create page format with 6*9 inches lenghth or what?
if is it so will this thing be created by BASIS person?

When it's continuous paper, the printer is not able to detect "pages", so it must rely on paper dimensions you transmit.
So, you must define new Z device type, Z format type and Z page format with these dimensions.
For this device type, you must assign the Z format type and define "printer initialization" action by indicating paper length (you may copy the actions of an existing continuous format type like INCH11, for the device type you use, and adapt it). For example, we find the following "printer initialization" action for EPESCP/INCH11:
    # set page length to 11 inch (=66 lines at 6 LPI)
    \e\0x43\0x42

  • Alignment problems printing direct to DVD with Epson R220

I know this question isn't specifically related to iDVD but I wondered if someone could help please?
I recently bought an Epson R220 printer to print direct to DVDs created with iDVD as I know labels stuck onto DVDs are best avoided.
However, using both the bundled Epson Print CD software and 'disclabel', I find the print is about 1cm off centre. I'm really surprised by this, as I thought these machines would just work out of the box - detecting through the software where the centre of the DVD is? I've tried everything to remedy this (including the position adjustment within Print CD which allows up to 5mm fine-tuning). The problem is I need more than fine tuning - the print is way off!
I'd be interested to hear from anyone who has an R200 or R220 and might have had a similar problem as I've spoken to Windows users with the same printer, who report no such hassle.
    Many thanks,

Thanks Hardy - really appreciate the links to the Epson site. I've tried using the manual settings as you suggest, and I've certainly witnessed a vast improvement. Basically, it seems that if I alter the position adjustment slightly and then opt for a manual print, the disc is centred no problem. It isn't quite up to the edge of the disc - there's about a 2mm gap, using one of the templates from the Print CD app. Have you noticed this also - or does the image print right up tight against the edge of the disc?
If I go back and opt to just 'Print' from the first menu that appears after selecting File>Print, (i.e. not using Manual to print) the image is consistently about 15mm off centre - I've tried this on a dozen tests. However, using 'Manual Print' this isn't the case. I wonder if there is a glitch here in the latest edition of EPSON Print CD (V1.4), in that you seem unable to specify 'Page Set Up'?
I've also gone back to the excellent disclabel application. Here I find that if I change the 90% default under page set up, to 100%, the disc is also aligned correctly.
Thanks very much Hardy for taking the time to work through this one with me - much appreciated.

  • Printing from an ipad with epson sx525wd?

I have an ipad 3 and have tried both installing iprint epson app and looking for whether airprint is supported by the epson sx525wd but no answer can I find - the epson online support pushed a document to me which was immediately nuked by a survey when she went offline and I cannot find it - something I glimpsed about using itunes somehow. I will want to print from pages.
    Thanks
    Graham

    Miaartcart-
No, you can not print from the iPad via Bluetooth.
AirPrint compatible printers are listed at <iOS: AirPrint 101>.  The last time I checked, none of those listed were portable.
One option is to use a DC-to-AC inverter in your car, with one of the available AirPrint printers plugged into it.  You may be able to connect the iPad's WiFi directly to a printer set up to host an Ad Hoc network.  Otherwise you could also power a WiFi router from the inverter.
There may be non-AirPrint portable printers you can use with a printing App such as Print n Share or PrintCentral on the iPad.  These Apps can only be accessed from within other Apps that have the "Open In" option.  However they have their own text, E-Mail, browser and photo programs.  If you can use these programs, a printing App may meet your needs.

  • Borderless Printing Does Not Work With Epson Printer!!!!!!!!

I have never gotten Aperture to print correctly borderless on Epson. I have an RX580 all-in-one. I set aperture up correctly in the print setup, I have tried everything and it always has a white strip on one side. I am getting fed up - any help would be appreciated. I am tired of exporting my images and then opening up in Photoshop to print - what a pain.

I've gotten it to print to my Epson RX700 very reliably. There are several things to be aware of. First, when selecting the printer settings, make sure the paper selection is correct. If you choose matte instead of glossy premium, for example, the print will be off-center. Next, make sure the size of the paper is set correctly in the printer settings, e.g. 4x6 borderless. Once you've finished setting up the printer, in the print dialog, also make sure you have the right paper size set up (why do we need to do this in two places?) and make sure it's configured to print on the whole page, not the whole photo. Finally, there's a slider that controls the border all around the photo. Slide it all the way left until it's at zero. That should get you a nice borderless print.
Oh, one other thing, always double-check the printer settings before making your first print. After shutting down Aperture, the next time it seems to forget my last settings. Subsequent prints should print out properly without changing settings again.
I've never needed to use the calibrate button. If you make sure the paper type and size are set properly in print settings as well as in the print dialog, and borders are at zero, you should be set to go.

  • Problem with Epson Printer and Time Capsule

I have a new Time Capsule, already gone through first backup etc... I tried to connect my 2 month old Epson RX 680 to the TC via USB. I have tried everything and still cannot print wirelessly. I have uninstalled, reinstalled, rebooted both TC and printer, running out of ideas. Any suggestions why I can't print wirelessly?
BTW, works fine with USB from printer directly into macbook pro.

I attempted this routine with my Epson R380 and this did not help. I do have a working HO OfficeJet 6210xi working off Time Machine. I'm wondering if an expert with CUPS can help determine the problem from the logs?

  • Wireless print server that works with Macs and Epson R1800?

    Hi,
I'm looking to buy a wireless print server, which I could use as if the printer was connected directly to my Mac. So basically, it just needs to have printing over IP port (like port 9100 on HP JetDirect) and drivers for Mac OS X (or ideally, no special drivers needed at all). Devices that do sharing of the printer only over LPD (older Unix), SMB (Windows), IPP (Cups / newer Unix) or similar protocols is not what I'm looking for here.
The reason why LPD, SMB and IPP are not an option is that I'll need utilities such as Epson Printer Utility to work over the network too.
It looks like Linksys, Belkin and some other have products that allow access to the printer over port 9100 (standard HP JetDiret's port) as if the printer was connected directly to the computer. However, for the most part I was able to find only success stories for Windows users.
Windows has standard driver that allows connection to the printer to be easily switched from USB port to network port. Does OS X comes standard with that feature, or is the special driver needed?
Most importantly, has anybody had success with printing from Mac through wireless print server (any brand) to Epson R1800? Did the Epson Print Utility (checking the ink levels, checking and cleaning the head, etc) work? Any special drivers needed?
    Thanks

direwolf has hit the nail on the head - the Epson driver won't work for IP printing. The Epson driver is a Carbon driver, where they build the comm protocols into the driver instead of enabling use of the standard protocols on OS X (that are part of the CUPS system). You'll need a CUPS driver to use the standard network protocol(s). The printfab driver is a CUPS driver.
Exception - the Apple Extreme/Express/etc print servers have firmware that make them work like Macs - Mac-to-Mac sharing works with USB-only drivers! I hesitate to recommend the Extreme/Express, because Apple can't seem to get all the kinks out.

  • Printing problem with Epson Workforce 840 & iPhoto 6

My iPhoto 6 works fine with our other printer - HP Officejet.
However, when I try to print a 4x6 photo with the Epson Workforce 840, the "iPhoto" tab in the print settings doesn't offer the usual set of paper options.  It only offers a limited set including Letter, A4, and a bunch of weird papers called: EPKG; EP8x10in; EPHiVision102x180; EPPhotoPaperLRoll; etc.   No, there's no "EP4x6".
I choose 4x6 in page setup, but that doesn't help.  I've downloaded and installed the Epson drivers and rebooted.
    Help!

I have an Epson R320 and have communication problems. You start the job and after about 5 seconds you get a ! in the dock on the printer icon and on opening you see "job stopped".
I am no expert but it seems to me that the program e.g.MYOB accounting fails to pass the data to OSX.
If I de install and reinstall the epson drivers and repair permission it will work ...but then the next day on re-booting we are back to the same state of not working.
I have informed Epson and am waiting for a reply. The epson printer tests and standalone mode works. OSX problem?
