Printing in ECC5 on a external ITS

Hi,
We are upgrading from 46C to ECC5.
We still want to use the external ITS.
Everything works fine except that the printing in the iTS does not work anymore.
We are on ITS 620 and everything worked fine before.
We use the new LPD1 device that ECC5 needs but when printing we come always on this page error
http://sapits01.imec.be:83/sap/bc/bsp/sap/frontend_print/poll_front_request.htm...BASE_URL=/sap/bc/bsp/sap/frontend_print"
We don't have that path on our its.
We have implemented note 957292 as sap recommends.
The following BSP object was created LIMU WAPP FRONTEND_PRINT POLL_FRONT_REQUEST.HTM
This object has as property url '/sap/bc/bsp/sap/frontend_print/poll_front_request.htm' but this path we don' have
Thanks for any help,
Hans

HI,
Thanks for the helpful answer because i'm quite sure it must be something like this.
SAP help(OSS) however didn't mention it until now and i don't find any documentation.
I activated the service 'frontend_print'
This one was not active and indeed contains the path
/default_host/sap/bc/bsp/sap/
But still without result but it could easily be that i have to activate some other services like  the 'print' one
Thanks for your usefull help
Hans

    Hi,
    When i am trying to open the Tasks in UWL, the Tasks which are calling any Tcode are giving blank page and some Tasks are opening but the Attachments in that Tasks are not opening.
    Tasks and Attachments are pointing to:

  • ESS 50.4 and MSS 60.1.20 for R/3 4.7 using EP7.0 and external ITS 6.20

    SAP@WEB studio
    Hi All,
    we are implementing ESS 50.4 and MSS 60.1.20 for R/3 4.7 using EP7.0 and external ITS 6.20.
    1).
    first of all is this landscape possible ?
    2).
    If it is possible then do i need SAP@WEB studio along with the external ITS ?
    3).
    once i install external ITS what are the stpes to be followed next ? i mean how can i connect to r/3 from the portal using the ITS ?
    thanks and regards,
    PK

    PK,
    Please see the ITS Administration guide and the ITS Installation guide.
    You will see that when you install the External ITS you will be asked for R/3 connection information, such as logon group, hostname, system name, system number, message server, depending on what connection method you choose.
    As for connecting the External ITS to Portal, as I stated, you will create iViews in the Portal and you will be asked for a URL.  The URL is the External ITS URL, which should be something like http://hostname:port/scripts/wgate/service/!
    Please read the guides and FAQ.  Thank you.

  • Migrating Services From External ITS to Internal ITS

    Hi All,
    We are migrating from External ITS 2.0 (SAP R/3 4.6B) to Internal ITS 6.0 (SAP ECC 6). Can anyone tell me on how to migrate services which are there in External ITS to Internal ITS, so that the same External ITS services are visible in SICF or SE80 Transaction.
    Thanks and Regards In Advance,
    Sidhartha Chatterjee

    Hi Sidhartha,
    As Klaus recommend, you should start with help.sap.com.
    I would also suggest doing a search in this forum, for similar threads like your. There are many of them, with good links and tips.
    I think a very good practical start to understanding the internal ITS is to read Durairaj Raja's excellent webblog, "Running your first ITS WebGUI application in SAP Netweaver 04 ABAP Edition", /people/durairaj.athavanraja/blog/2005/08/21/running-your-first-its-webgui-application-in-sap-netweaver-04-abap-edition--nsp

  • External ITS change button text

    We are just implementing ESS 50.4 using WAS 4.7, Portal 6.0, and external ITS.
    In the Enrollment IAC, transaction PZ14,
    SAP Template Button href=URLPLAN
    button=TXT_INFO
    iconName=b_info
    The button displays the word 'Information' and we need to change that word.  Where does one change the text for a button on external ITS?
    I have tried SE93.
    Thank you,
    D. Maupin

    Hello Donna,
    normally the button texts are set by the application. But did you try to override it by providing the parameter buttonLabel="something" to the function that renders the button?
    With best regards,
      TJ

    I recently upgraded to Mac OS 10.8.1.  I had an Epson Inkjet printer (Stylus C88 ) that had seen its better days. I purchased a refurbished model (C88+ ) to replace the old one, simple enough. Since I've done this before, I didn't think I had to install the CD. I have since discovered the CD isn't recognized on my computer and/or by this Mountain Lion system and that I had to go to Apple to upgrade the new driver for this product, and which I did, but I can't find the epson folder  other than the attached. I just want to place an alias printer logo on my desktop but I can't find it anywhere.   What to do???

    Hi, one question & one suggestion...
    What possible things are connected at home but not at the store, inlude every cable, etc.
    One way to test is to Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, Test for problem in Safe Mode...
    PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive
    Reboot, test again.
    If it only does it in Regular Boot, then it could be some hardware problem like Video card, (Quartz is turned off in Safe Mode), or Airport, or some USB or Firewire device, or 3rd party add-on, Check System Preferences>Accounts>Login Items window to see if it or something relevant is listed.
    Check the System Preferences>Other Row, for 3rd party Pref Panes.
    Also look in these if they exist, some are invisible...

  • Concerns when implementing internal ITS (together w existing external ITS)

    Hi all,
    We are on SAP ECC 5.0, with SAP basis 6.40.
    In the system setup there is an existing external ITS server, which is used for CATS as well as MIRO/FB60 invoice handling functionality.
    Now in another project we want to start using the internal ITS (i.e. publish relevant transactions in tr. SICF). Are there anything we should be concerned about? Can these two co-exist? Are there any learnings that we can built upon.
    Thanks
    - Thyge

    HI Thyge,
    I think SAP note 709038 can provide you with answers for the Integrated ITS.
    From my experience, CATS is not supported in the Integrated ITS (see SAP note 870126): it has been replaced by a Web Dynpro (Java) version.
    I hope this helps.
    Best regards,
    Cristiano

  • Help and Exit button appears after upgradation from External ITS to Integra

    Hi All,
    Though there some threads with similar problem but still I am not able to fix the problem.
    After we upgraded from external ITS to Intergrated ITS some of the application started displaying "Exit" and "Help" buttons. Please note that most of the application are working fine though.
    Kindly suggest.

    Hi Edgar,
    Thanks for the reply. Do I need to maintain this parameter from SE80 or from SICF? I had read in SE80 but it not help. I do not have authorization in SICF.
    If it is to be done from SICF , please let me know.
    Warm regards,
    Aditya

  • How to print a dialog box with all its components ?

    Hi !
    I've written an application.It has a dialog box [JDialog] containing following components:
    1) 2 JLabels.
    1) A JTextField.
    3) A JTable with some values.
    4) A JProgressBar.
    5) A JButton.
    6) An animated gif image.
    I want to print the dialog box with all its components exactly as the are [ Except the button & animated gif ].
    Would anybody please help me?
    My Operating System: Windows XP

    The article over at http://java.sun.com/developer/technicalArticles/Printing/Java2DPrinting/ has some helpful information on printing Swing components.
    It suggests creating a subclass of the JComponent that you want to print, and have it implement Printable interface.
    So, something like (note, uncompiled / untested code alert) :
    import java.awt.Frame;
    import java.awt.Graphics;
    import java.awt.Graphics2D;
    import java.awt.HeadlessException;
    import java.awt.print.PageFormat;
    import java.awt.print.Printable;
    import javax.swing.JDialog;
    public class PrintableDialog extends JDialog implements Printable {
          * Or whichever constructor you need...
         public PrintableDialog(Frame owner, String title, boolean modal) throws HeadlessException {
              super(owner, title, modal);
          * Implementation of the Printable interface.
           public int print(Graphics g, PageFormat pf, int pageIndex) {
              if (pageIndex != 0) return NO_SUCH_PAGE;
              Graphics2D g2 = (Graphics2D) g;
              g2.translate(pf.getImageableX(), pf.getImageableY());
              getContentPane().paint(g2);
              return PAGE_EXISTS;
    }Cheers,
    John

  • When I print it always defaults to external modem

    The print & fax preference says default to the last printer used. Yet when I print from Pages, and Pages alone, it goes to external modem. Every single time I have to change it to my printer. Yes, at some point in the past I did print to the external modem from Pages but it has been a while. How can I get it to default to my printer? It never sticks. I have tried deleting the Pages preferences but it does not fix this.

    Yup, I'm having a similar problem. I have two printers: my default printer is set to "last printer used", but using Pages it ALWAYS goes to my Epson C1100. Even when I change the page setup to Format for my Docuprint printer, and then save, it reverts to being set up for the C1100 when I reopen it. I have to change the set up every single time I need to print a document on my Docuprint. It's making Pages unusable - I might have to go back to Word.
    And you're right - changing it on the templates doesn't work - because the next time I open a document, template or normal, the Format For setting has changed again.

  • Windows Printer Share-Worked... now its not

    I have 7 computers, mac and PC that are all able to connect to a printer share except for 1 computer. The Lexmark T522 is connected via Serial to a Windows XP box that has standard printer sharing enabled. For months all the computers on the network could print fine to it fine. 2 days ago i installed the latest security update on our intel-imac... now it cannot connect to the printer.
    Was there something in the latest security update that messed up printing to windows printer shares?
    I go to printers and faxes, Add a printer(the other was deleted through my troubleshooting) I have to choose "more printers", and then have to choose our "workgroup (called workgroup)" I see the shared computers and select the one with the printer installed. I hit the "choose" button and get a request for username and password. I get after about 30 seconds "Unable to connect to server with provided username and password" "error 256" and an Okay button.
    NOTE: i can connect via the same method with all the other macs here at our house (none of them have been updated with the latest security update yet though).

    Hey, man.
    This started happening to me, too, right after I installed the latest security update. Suddenly I could no longer print to the Windows shared printer at work. Got the exact same error you got.
    Thankfully, the printer happens to be wireless and ethernet enabled, so we were able to work around it. But after 4 hours of total troubleshooting, we haven't been able to figure out how to print to it as a shared printer.
    Weird,

  • Confirm hypothesis: bad DVD's & print to tape due to external drive format

    I bought anexternal drive about three months ago. Ever since that purchase my DVD's have had continuous errors. (locking up, massive pixelation, just won't be recognized). The interesting part was not all DVD players had a problem-some played fine.
    We thought bad DVD's, corrupt files, bad burner--all have been checked and was in to APPLE three times. I just opened the "info" on my external-that I thought I completed a Mac format-is labeled as MS-DOS (Fat32). I've heard FAT 32 can "silly errors". Can this be my problem.
    After you call me "an idiot" can you confirm my hypothesis? As was recommended yeterday here, I will be formatting this external to "Mac OS X extended" shortly

    FAT formatted drives have file size limits. FAT 32 is 4 GB, I think. If your file is larger it gets broken into chunks.
    An hour of DV footage is just under 13GB, so that would be broken into four chunks. The fun starts when you delete or move one of those chunks as it makes the rest useless.
    While this might be playing a part in your current issues, there could be something else going wrong too. Reformat your drive as Mac OS Extended -at least you have then closed off that avenue.
    Don't forget that reformatting will also erase the drive completely.

  • For some reason I am no longer able to print website pages. The printer works for regular documents but its not printing Firefox website pages.

    I don't know why it stopped printing documents that I want to print out such as airline confirmations or directions from a website etc., what are normal documents to print. It says "An unknown error occurred while printing"

    hello ahegarty, you could try using the [https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/pdfjs/ PDF Viewer] addon, for more details also see [[PDF files are blank and can't be downloaded on Mac]].

  • Dynamic (session) language setting not working in external ITS v6.20

    Hi everybody,
    We have upgraded from ITS 2.0 to 6.20 patchlevel 35.  In the service (srvc) file following parameters have been set;
    ~languages      tr, en
    ~language      tr
    So we want our users to log on in Turkish (tr) language, but they have to be able to switch to English (en) after the logon.
    This could be done in the 2.0 version without any problem using the appropriate querystring like
    http://.../~flN0YXRlPTExNTguMDA0LjA0LjA0?~language=en
    But it's not possible anymore in 6.20. I have checked the releates notes and forum posts, but still no solution. The intersting point is, we can switch the language at the logon page, but not after the logon page anymore. (following links work :
    http://.../wgate/zabc/!?~language=en
    http://.../wgate/zabc/!?~language=tr
    Has anyone got an idea?
    Best regards,
    Ozcan.

    Hello Ozcan,
    That is not the correct usage of ~languages and ~language.  The ~language parameter is used to specify the language for the service.  There should not be a way to change it.  The ~languages parameter should specify which languages the user is allowed to select from during logon.  Obviously, if ~language is set then the ~languages parameter is of no use.
    If it was possible to do what you have specified before then it was not intended.
