Printing in iCal 1.5.5

Is there a way in iCal for Panther to print the notes in the calendar event? Not the task list. Either just that event or all events in a month with the notes included.

In replying to another post today I was refering the OP on to software called iCalPrinter which seems to me to be relevant also to you.
I haven't used it and I was only aware of it as I have purchased another software published by the same developer.
It claims to be able to print, "Your Own Custom Date Range", so it may allow you to use iCal the way you wish. It's only US$10 so it's worth a look.

I would ask them if what you want is possible before purchasing. A customer of mine got it to make many other custom formatted pages. Don't have them anymore, but they I'm sure could tell you if it is possible. Be sure to also indicate your printer model.

What is the best way to do hi-res printing for iCal?

I am trying to figure out a way to print some iCal calendars in a hi-res format that can be imported as a PDF or TIF into a (ugh) MS Publisher 07 document. When I use the straight 10.6.2 print to PDF format, it loses resolution. Any suggestions on how to do this? Is there a better font to use, and if so, how do I change the font?

I'm now using BusyCal, which is way better.

I'm having trouble printing iCal pages. The printer only prints about an 1/8 of an inch of the left side of the calender. I've had some problems printing out some PDFs a while ago, they did something similar. Everything else prints fine.
Is it glitch in my printer, or iCal.

I have exactly the same problem with my HP printer which works fine with everything else. The print preview pane shows the correct object but still only a fraction of it comes out on the page. Looks like a printer problem.

OK, now I think I understand your problem.
If it is your calendar that is being shared with other users who have been granted editing priviliges, you will not be able to exclude those events from printing.

This is an easy fix. You indicate that you get these emails just fine on your desktop, so they are not getting lost. They are just not making it to your iPhone or iPad. This tells me that you need to change the preferences of the accounts on your desktop machine. Each account will have a setting for what to do with mail on the server after you have checked it. The choices are to leave on the server, or to delete it.
If you have it set to delete, it won't be there when you later go check your mail from your mobile device. Most of the people I see post here with email issues have the opposite problem from you. They check their email from the phone during the day, then can't get it on the desktop later. It sounds like your iPhone and iPad are already set to leave on server.
All you have to do is go into your mail client on the desktop and in the individual preferences for each account change this setting. You may also want to check how you have deleted mail set up. It also can be set to be removed immediately, at a later time (like a week, month), or never. If you have it set to delete it won't be in your trash folder.

Printing from iCal with total time

Is there a way when printing from iCal to show the total time that an event took place for? IE: If I print a day it will show at what time the event started and not when it ended. Is there a way to do this? Is there a way to get it to print the total time an event took? I say event but it could be a meeting as well.

Can I print my ical calendar in a orientation other than landscape?

I like to print my monthly calendar and slip it into a monthly pocket divider in my binder that I normally take to meetings etc. Unfortunatley the ical calendar only seems to print in a landsape view that does not work well in binders. This has always been very frustrating and because of it I have always used other calendars. I really would like to use my ical. Does anyone have a suggestion? Thanks in advance.

iCal doesn't offer you this option. You might like to consider BusyCal, which does:

You should design you front panel to more closely match the aspect ratio of the paper.
A possible solution would also be to create a special subVI with the desired print layout. Whenever you want to print, call it with the current display data and make sure to set it to "print when complete".

How can I make "big" the default setting for printing in iCal?

When I print a calendar from iCal, there is an option to set the test size as small, medium or big? Each time I launch iCal it resets this to "small." If there a way to change this such that the preference is for "big?"

Make that "Firefox ->Preferences -> General -> When Firefox starts: "Show my windows and tabs from last time" is not selected as this is not the default.
Basically this setting will make Firefox start with whatever windows and tabs that were last open when a user closes Firefox by way of File ->Quit/Exit as if Firefox was never closed.

Print Current iCal To Dos

I would like to print a list of my current to dos. How do I do this?

Please can you help? I know how to print the 'List' view from ICAL to show to dos but it seems very limited.
I really need to see the to dos in the order shown in ICAL, i.e. if I sort them by priority or by calendar this should be how they print, but they seem to show in a random order? Also the priority does not show on the printout which I want to be able to see.
I would prefer to just print my to dos with little or no calendar info. If I choose to show no all day or timed events, none of the to dos with due dates show on the printout. If I just show a couple of days worth of calendar only the to dos with due dates in this period show on the print, when I want to see them all. Also to dos with due dates that are past do not show. All a bit frustrating. I've started duplicating any to dos where I want an alarm as an event and then also having the to do without a due date so it shows when printed.

The general support page did not list iCal under applications for support either. The Tiger upgrade is only an issue for me due to existing 3rd party software (PtoTools). Right now I have iCal 1.5.5- is version 3 a download or a purchase? and how can I be sure it will address this issue? ahhhh

hello, hoping i could find some help here. i am trying to print a month of my ical but i am getting the same problem. i want the event to list the title, but not have them next to it.
i want the 9am out of the picture, but i cant seem to find a way to do so, can anyone help?

I would like to print only one appointment in ical. Neither a whole day, nor the week or month. At the moment I copy the appointment in Pages (drag and drop) and print it from there. That is very complicated. Is there any solution to print appointments directly from ical?

I don't think you can do that in a direct way, although you could create a calendar, and move the event you want printed to that calendar, then go to print, select list and then only select that calendar and you will only print that event you wanted to print.
