Printing in sequence

Hi Gurus,
When processing transaction VF04 (invoicing) the printed invoices do not come out from printer in a logical order.
Examples:
Printed invoices numbers 1-2-3-4-5
Then the invoice no.1 is printed again after no.5
Also duplicated invoice pages are printed between invoices.
I have 2 output types assigned in there and both has 1 as message in communication tab so they are suppose to process 2 printouts each for original & copy as well.
Kindly explain if it is working as desired..
Kindly help
Bawa

Looks like the page order setting is incorrectly set in the printer properties. Follow the steps provided below to fix the issue:
1. Open the Solution Center application in your computer.
2. Click on the 'Settings' icon at the bottom.
3. Click on the 'Printer Settings' button.
4. In the window that appears, select the 'Advanced' tab.
5. Under the 'Layout Options', select the option 'Front to Back'.
Now, try to print and check whether the issue is fixed. Reply with your findings.

  • Leopard Terminal.app no longer supports ANSI print escape sequences?!!

I print my email using pine's "attached-to-ansi" option, which used to work great in Tiger with Terminal.app. It no longer works in Leopard. It also breaks things like the "ansiprt" Unix command.
This is a start/stop escape sequence that diverts text between the start/stop sequences to the printer. See http://www.termsys.demon.co.uk/vtansi.htm as a reference.
Is there some Terminal.app setting I need to use to enable this? Some specific terminal type perhaps?
Suggesting that I use enscript or other techniques don't work, as I use the Terminal to ssh into my mail server, then run pine on the mail server.
Anyway, any idea how to get this very desirable feature back?
    Thanks,
    -John

    HI,
I tried to set "Escape non-ASCII input" without any change. I didn't see an option to change "Escape non-ASCII output". I tried a few other things without success either using a different terminal type and so forth. I looked in the .term file and didn't see anything text related to ANSI or ASCII or escape.
If I change a Terminal preference do I need to quit and restart Terminal to test the change, or does the change take place as soon as I change it in the menu? I tried quitting and restarting after checking "Escape non-ASCII input" and when I restart the box was unchecked. I couldn't find a "save preferences option either.
In Tiger, my terminal type was xterm-color- same in Leopard. I had checked off "Escape non-ASCII characters" under Tiger.
Here's exactly what I do, *which used to work in Leopard*.
I run Terminal.app on my MacBook, and ssh to a mail server. On the mail server, I run the pine command to read my mail. Pine has an option to print email using ASCII escape sequences. Terminal.app sees these escape sequences and diverts the text to the default printer on my MacBook.
Under Leopard, the Terminal doesn't catch the ANSI escape code, and just spews the text to the terminal window. Nothing has changed on the mail server side. I;m using the sane ssh command.
Enscript won't work, as the printer connected to the mail server is often as not in a different state than my MacBook.
Not all terminal emulators support the ANSI print escape sequences. Terminal didn't before Tiger, if I remember correctly. I used to use a very nice terminal emulator called Data Comet which did it.
ANSI printing used to be a fairly common way to print to a local printer connected to via a parallel cable. Besides pine, the Unix command ansiprt http://kb.iu.edu/data/abye.html could be used to print remote files on the local printer. Some terminal emulator programs used the idea to hook the ANSI escape sequence to the printing system, extending the functionality to use any printer accessible by the local system.
Thanks again for all your help. I hope I've clarified what I'm trying to do.

  • HP LaserJet P1007 Not Printing in Sequence

I Own a HP LaserJet P1007 printer. While printing several pages at a time, its printing in an arbitary sequence. Its creating a  big problem for me. How it can be resolved, please suggest me.

    <Is this because i just upgraded to 10.5.6? </i>
No, probably not. I have no problems printing to my 3015 from 10.5.6.
Is apple going to do something about this?
Doubtful since it's almost certainly not Apple's problem, per se. Make sure you have the latest printer update, HP Printer Update 1.1.1, which should appear in Software Update if you haven't installed it and will probably appear in the "Installed Updates" pane of the Software Update preference. And if course if it's a networked printer you'll want to ping it to make sure that your system is actually reaching the printer.
If you continue to have problems, you'll probably want to take it up with your IT people or with HP. But you can keep an eye on this thread and see if suggestions to the OP would apply in your case as well.

  • Printing interrupted sequence of pages

I need to print a interrupted sequence of pages the following JavaScript will only print pages 6 and 7 but not pages 2 and 3.
    this.print({ bUI: false, bSilent: true, bShrinkToFit: true, nStart: 1, nEnd: 2, nStart:5, nEnd:6 })
What is wrong with this code?
    JB

It's not how that function works. You can only specify each parameter once.
If you want to print an interrupted range of pages, you must call this.print for each sub-range, like so:
this.print({ bUI: false, bSilent: true, bShrinkToFit: true, nStart: 1, nEnd: 2 })
this.print({ bUI: false, bSilent: true, bShrinkToFit: true, nStart:5, nEnd:6 })

  • Print hdv sequence to dvcam tape

I've never tried it, but can you print a hdv sequnce to a dvcam tape?
I've had a look at the forum and a few people mention using compressor, but I have fce 4 which hasn't got compressor.
Does anyone have any experince doing this in fce 4?
    Thanks.

Do you have a DVCAM camera or deck? Do not do this with copy and paste. Take your edited HD sequence and place it inside a DV anamorphic sequence to scale it properly and correct the pixel aspect ratio. Before you do that make the the HD sequence is fully rendered and mixed down. Then once inside the DV anamorphic sequence, render and mix down that, then print to video.

  • Printing from sequenced Adobe Reader 11

We have sequenced Adobe Reader XI which works fine apart from a printing issue.
When the user prints an Adobe document a lot of the text displays as small boxes.....looks like a driver issue?
If the user goes to the advanced printer settings and ticks 'Print as Image' it prints out fine
    Any ideas?

Take a look here, I beleive much of this guide can be applied to Adobe Reader XI

  • Reports 2.5 Printing in sequence

I have 4 reports that need to run in sequence. They all have common parameter which need to get passed from one report to another. I have a customer who has multiple projects. If I run the report for a customer
what has to happen is report one need to run for that project, report 2 for that project, 3 and 4th report and go back to report one for the next project for the same customer.
How do I achicve this. If I use srw.run_report I get report 1 for all projects and 2 for all projects etc

Your form needs to loop through the customer's projects and call the reports for each project, passing in the project as the parameter, not just the customer.

  • Mass Printing Sequence with Broadcasting with SN 2004s

    Hi,
We are currently running on BW 3.5 and our customer has specific requirements in terms of printing. the printed layout off course must be good, which will be improved with the latest version of broadcasting. But on top of this, they have requirements in terms of mass printing and sequence.
The central controlling department will need, each month, to print specific reports for all individual cost centers (more than one hundred), plus the nodes to which they are assigned within the hierarchy. And possibly, the print out must follow the sequence of the position of the cost centers within the hierarchy.
So, I would like to know whether the 2004S broadcasting would enable to schedule & print "in one go" these 100 reports in the specific sequence of the hierarchy.
I have read carefully the blog of Katie Beavers on this respect and raised the question but she does not seem to be able to answer.
Thx very much for your input.
    Stéphane

    Hi Stephane,
you can realize your requirement by using a control query.
In the definition of the control query you can use a hierachry as a presentation hierachy, and hence this hierarchy will be used to distribute the resulting queries in the Information Broadcasting of your original query.

    Hi Friends
I am trying to print the signatures in cheque using printer escape sequence, But in output no output was printed.
Customer provided the hexadecimal value for escape sequence, I checked the value in SPAD transaction also, both are same.
But I am not able to identify the problem.where exactly-please give your valuable inputs on this.

  • GLM - Spool management - Slow printing standard  - High Volume Printing??

I've seen a couple OSS notes referencing performance on Spool management for GLM, but I need to ask about HVP.. I was told this was the only way to allow the printing of sequence or serial number processing to print quicker..
Here is my issue.  We have used serial numbers symbols on our labels with the following configuration to allow the label to print in sequential order based on the number of labels needed.
Meaning if we have 10 labels to print, we use this serial number symbol to print 1 of 10, 2 of 10, 3 of 10, etc...
Here is the symbol code we have on our template.
    @TD_LBLSRN(ID=02EHS_SERNO1)  of @TD_SRNEND(ID=02EHS_SERNO1)
Now by doing this, it slows the printing of the label considerably. Without this, labels print 1 every 2 seconds or so, but with the serial number sequence, it prints 1 label every 20-30 second and we print thousand of labels at a time.  So it takes a really long time.. The issue is the labels and the serial number sequence is being spooled up and basically printing a label after WWI process the 1 of 10, then processes 2 of 10, then etc...
How can we speed this up?  I heard HVP, but this solution is extremely expensive.. Is there any other solution?

    Hello Keith,
GLM replicates the static part of the label and adds after wards the sequence number to each generated page. This is needed; because GLM uses the MS Windows standard print technology which does not foresee optimized sequence numbering. The advantage is that it will work for all printer types with a MS Windows printer driver but the disadvantage is the increasing data volume and the longer processing times.
The HVP functionality is available for thermo transfer printers of Zebra, Pago, Tec or printers which can understand the ZPL printer language. The HVP is part of the GLM pre-defined service from SAP since January.
The HVP functionality will pass the sequence number parameters to a special printer driver which uses special functionality of the printer hardware to do the sequence numbering. The printer driver load the static part of the label to the printer first and send then only the sequence number as a dynamic part for each copy. So finally this will reduce the data volume nearly to one copy of your label.
I donu2019t think that there is really a good technical alternative to HVP at the moment but some MS Windows printer drivers have the possibility to send hardware commands in advance of a print job. This might be an option to initiate a sequence number counter on the printer hardware an doing the numbering in that way. I never tried it in this way but this is the only option without HVP I see at the moment.

  • IN Character mode Report can be print in bold

I have a report in character mode but i want to print some character in bold
    for example
    This is my first program
in above line i want to print program in bold
    Jai

    Hello
Search the Oracle Reports Online help for "Printer Code Before" :
    Printer Code Before property
Printer Codes are references to printer escape sequences that define special printing instructions (for example, special font sizes or highlighting) for the object. The Printer Code Before property specifies the printer escape sequence to be executed before each line of the object. The printer escape sequences are inserted after the object is triggered to print but before it has actually printed.

  • How to print an html report?

In a Test UUT's execution, the process model generates and saves a html report. How can add steps to the process model to print the report each time? I'm thinking maybe somehow using an ActiveX call to open IE and then print (1 step or 2?), but I'm a newbie to ActiveX and don't know what server/class/method to use.
    ==============================================
    David Kaufman

    ==============================================

Using Microsoft Word could be a good solution if you actually have it installed in the computer. In some cases, you may not want to have that application installed in the production floor for any reason (licenses, memory space...).
I am attaching an example that shows how to print the report automatically after testing a UUT using ActiveX to communicate with Internet Explorer. It is more likely that any machine would have this application installed since it occupies a lot less memory space and it ships with any Windows OS. Furthermore, there are just 3 steps that do the trick!
The attached zip file contains a modified sequential model. The entry points ("Single Step" and “Test UUTs”) have one new step that calls the "Print Report" sequence (also added to the sequential model). This new sequence has ActiveX steps that call two methods of the “Internet Explorer (IwebBrowser2)”object class exported by the “Microsoft Internet Controls” automation server. These two methods are:
    1) Navigate. Allows you to select the html file to load.
    2) ExecWB with the first parameter (cmdid) set to "OLECMDID_PRINT" (prints the loaded file) and the second parameter (cmdexecopt) set to OLECMDEXECOPT_DONTPROMPTUSER" (don’t show the print dialog).
(For more information about these methods, please refer to the MSDN Library)
The example will print the report after each UUT is tested. The "Print Report" step is set to run just if the Report Generation is not disabled (see its preconditions).
This is what you need to do to run the example:
    1) Copy the contents of the zip file to: \Components\User\Models\TestStandModels
    2) Make sure that the “User Components Directoty” is checked in the Search Directories.
    3) Run any sequence using Single Pass or Test UUTs.
WARNING: There is a known issue when using the printing capabilities of the Internet Explorer. This is what is explained in the MSDN library:
"... Internet Explorer prints in the background. This means that the print processing is actually completed asynchronously in a separate thread.Upon return from ExecWB, the print processing may continue for several seconds or even up to a minute or two based on various factors such as the size of the content and how busy your system is currently. The problem is that if you start a print job and then destroy the WebBrowser or close your application before the background thread finishes processing, the thread will abandon its work and the page may not be completely printed..."
There are 2 approaches to work around this problem:
    1) Use a delay before destroying the WebBrowser reference (which is done in the cleanup step group of the "Print Report" sequence in the example). This is the approached used in the example. The third step in the “Print Report” sequence is a Wait step. The step is currently set to wait for 3 seconds which has worked for me for almost any report sizes.
2)In Internet Explorer 5 you can work around this problem by sinking the OnAfterPrint event. If you have started a print job, then you should wait to release the WebBrowser until after this event has been received. If you choose this approach you could use the ActiveX events capabilities of Labview or Visual Basic to create a small program detecting this event. There's a simple sample code provided in the MSDN library for VB.
    Enjoy!

  • Printing in character mode (urgent)

    Hi,
We would like to print the contents of the report in bold, italic and compressed format wich i have made in character mode (mode=character).
    i work with:
    Reports Builder 6i,
    Win 2000,
    a generic/text only printer(matrix printer: EPSON LQ-580).
i have tied to call the bold.prt in DESFORMAT, and i have entred bold on and bold off in the section of "code after" and "code before", but no changes occurs when i print the report
    Thanking You in advance.

    Hi,
First create your .prt file. In this file, you must define the printer escape sequence for making an object print in bold format, for example. Most of the supplied .prt files incorporate this code. An example of a HP printer setting is:
    code "1"          esc"(s7B"
    code "2"          esc"(s0B"
Check your printer settings and/or consult your printer manual for more information on other effects, such as italic.
Next build your character mode report.
The report must now be set to the .prt file. Set the DESFORMAT system parameter for your report to test.prt (no need for .prt extension). This can also be set as a runtime parameter.
Next, go to the object in the report that you want to print in bold; such as, boilerplate text. Click on the properties for the boilerplate text, and go to the 'Printer Codes' tab. References to the escape codes shown above must be entered here in the Before and After fields. You are interested in the BOLD On and Off printer escape sequences so we would put &1 in the before and &2 in the after field.
Save and run the report directing the output to a valid printer. The printed version of the character mode report should incorporate your changes.
NOTE: You do not have to use &1, and so forth, Long postings are being truncated to ~1 kB at this time.

  • Draft mode report printing

    Pl. help us, urgent....
We are developing report in Dev 2000 Reports Builder 3.0.4.6.3 on Windows 98 node.
Our client's requirement is to print the reports on High Speed Dot Matrix Printer at every
workstation place in Draft 10 Cpi font.
I have tried setting Font of all layout components with (Draft 10 Cpi, Regular, 10). The result I have got on Wipro LQ 1050+ Dot Matrix printer is -- it is printing in draft mode but the printer head was tremendously twisting especially while printing the digits.
Later I have tried with setting MODE=character DESTYPE=PREVIEW. The output of preview geting trailed for each line and words. The same result is coming wile printing at this setting.
What should be right way of designing the layout of the reports and setting the required
    preferences/properties, to achieve that.
This is very urgent, pl. reply as soon as possible. We are expecting yours
    valuable suggestion.

Just a first point, Reports 3.0 has been desupported, so you may want to look to upgrade.
That said, it sounds to me like you just need character mode output. The first thing that I would do would be to run to file with mode=character set, then send this file directly to the printer to see if you get the same results.
If you do then you should take a look at the documentation on prt files, and your printer manual to make sure that the prt file you're using includes the correct printer escape sequences to set the printer up in the way you require (the right font, etc.) Note that this won't work for bitmapped reports.
    Hope this helps,
    Danny
