How do I actually print out the background fill in a table's rows?

Hi guys and gals,
I have been trying to figure out this one for a while now and need some help in diagnosing it. I have a table with alternating colour fill on so that the first row is shaded grey, the next not, the next grey ad infinitum. Now if I print the document to Preview as a PDF then the alternating colours appear. If I then print that PDF document to paper the rows print with the correct alternating fill. If however I try printing the Pages '09 document straight to paper the rows all print out with no fill colour
I cannot seem to find an option anywhere to say "display but don't print the fill in this cell / row". Is there a setting in Pages? I have been through the Inspector thing with a fine-toothed comb but I'm obviously going blind. Or is this a quirk of my printer? If I print an image then it prints the colours ok with no scrimping to save ink. Again I cannot find a setting on the printer to disable the cell / row fill when actually committing a document to paper
So in summary:
Alternating fill produces stripey table on the screen
Printing to PDF shows a stripey table and can be printed to paper with stripes
Printing from Pages '09 to paper removes the stripes
I'm on the very latest version of Lion and Pages '09. My printer is an HP PSC 2179 with up to date drivers etc
Would love some help on this one and a virtual jeroboam of vodka to anyone who can resolve the issue

Hi Andreas,
I think you have nothing into SAP to find the structure of a cluster table.
The way I use, is to find a standard program that use this cluster, and I look in the ABAP code the structure used by SAP.
You just have to use the ST05, and use the option to see the code where the cluster has been readed.

I am unable to print articles from magazines from Google Books - the background prints, but not the article

When I try to print from "File", then "Print" only the background "stuff" prints, not the article I am trying to print from Popular Mechanics in Google books. Sometime in the past I had a program (I think it was Mozilla Firefox) which allowed me to take a "screen shot" of the entire screen, edit out the unwanted graphics, zoom in or out and then print only the edited version on a full page format. I've changed computers, and am still setting the new one up to my preferences. Can you help me print articles from Popular Mechanics on Google books?

Chances are you have one of two problems; either a non-standard "Media Type" is selected or your page margins are messed up. If the Media Type is correct, try doing the '''reset''' mentioned on that support page.

Is there a setting to make a PDF print with no background and black text?

I made a nice booklet that has colorful blocks in the background and sometimes white text and sometimes black text. We are not going to print it, it is just going to be a PDF on our website. Can I set it up so that it always prints without the backgrounds and makes all the text black?
I just don't want people to have to print huge fields of colr if they end up printing this out on a little ink jet with expensive and finicky cartridges...

Yosemite causes everything I print to have background shading

Downloaded Yosemite when it came out a month or so ago. Now whenever I print anything the background of the page looks "dirty." Haven't been able to figure out the issue. I know it is not the printer, because it is shared and any other computer printing on it does not have this issue. The issue is unique to my computer only, and I am the only one who has downloaded Yosemite. The printer I am on is a HP Laserjet M4345 MFP.

Known issue with Win10. There are multiple Bugs filed which the Mozilla developers are working on.

Pdf creation - can it be set up so the background doesn't print, and text defaults to black?

Hi, I am creating a portfolio with a black background and white text. I am anticipating that most of the time it will just be viewed on screen, but in-case it gets printed, I want to know if there is a way that you can change the print view so that the background is not printable, and any text defaults to black. I have noticed when printing web pages this often happens, but not sure if it's possible through InDesign.
Any replies gratefully appreciated.

Here is a way that this can be done: Convert the background into a button, this will allow you to set the background to be visible in PDF, but doesn't print. Note: with the button selected, you can access the visibility options from the flyout menu of the button panel. Copy the frame containing the reverse text and convert it to a button and apply the same visibility (visible in PDF, but doesn't print). Paste text in same position, make it black and send it to back (or create a layer behind everything and place text here). The black text does not have to be a button. When you export, make sure to have interactive elements selected. In PDF, background and reverse type will be viewable, but allowing the black text to print.

When I convert InDesign file to pdf, the background of my image is no longer transparent

I am working with InDesign CS3, and when I place a .gif file onto the document, the background of the image is transparent, which is what I want. However, when I convert the InDesign file to a pdf, that same image shows up in a white box. Why is this happening? Is there a setting that I am missing when I convert it? Thanks in advance

The white box does not appear in InDesign print preview.

In iTunes, my printing is white and the background is black, How do I change it back to white printing on a black background.

In my iTunes store, the printing is white and the background is black and I have forgotten how to change it back to black printing on a white background? I know that it is a simple answer, but right now I cannot think of it.
Also, what is the "other" when you are syncing an ipad in itunes and in my case the other is more than half of my 64Gb. How do I find out what it is and then get rid of it if I want to?

Sorry to hear that didn't resolve the issue.
I checked online for issues printing from the Internet, found a couple of things you can try. Most likely it is a setting that needs to be changed in the browser settings, since the printer prints fine from the computer.
From Internet Explorer, go to File, Page setup, Remove check from "Printer background color and images" if checked, or vise versa, to see if that helps.

The background colour bar below Mozilla Firefox Start Page is black and I can see the print. Only Web is showing in white and images, news, etc. is not visible. What to do

There is an items bar which allows one to go directly to the news. The bar items are: Web, Images, Videos, Maps, News, Shopping, more.. The background color was either white or gray with blue print. Now the background color is black and I can barely see the items to click on. I downloaded Firefox twice and the problem is the same.

Icloud calendar. When I try to print from any of my devices, all I get is a black screen..the background of the icloud main site. Need to print. How do I get it to print?

I use calendar in icloud all the time but when I try to print it all I get is a dark background....like the dard barkground on the main screen when accessing icloud. This happens on all devices...iphone, ipad and PC. Cant figure out how to get it to print for me. Any suggestions?

How do I change the background color on pages I try to print or view?

when I installed/downloaded Mozilla/Firefox originally, I "set" an option that changed the "background" color for certain pages that I download. When I try to print some pages, the entire background (or some blank spaces) is printed in a purple color. (It uses too much ink to print a page.)
Can't find where I can change the original settings I used and make the background white, or no color at all.

Specifically to add a background color, no. The only workaround I am aware of is to add a text box to the document format and expand it to cover the entire page. Available colors will be limited, and you may need to experiment with the opacity.

If anyone is reading this still looking for what caused the issue and how to fix it here is what I discovered.
The antivirus program our company uses, Bitdefender Antivirus Plus, was causing some of the PDF files not to open. After troubleshooting the different modules and settings the culprit was..
Scan SSL in Privacy Control Settings. Turning it OFF solved the problem and all the PDF files that previously would not open now open just fine. This issue has been sent to Bitdefender for them to review. If you use a different antivirus program and are having this issue try locating the Scan SSL setting and see if turning it off solves the problem.

First, one person just changed laptops and the new one has a fresh Windows 7 Enterprise X64 image and new installation of Adobe Acrobat X Pro. When he used the pdf printer for the first time(after opening the program and accepting the license agreement) he was in MS Excel '07 and chose file>print>Adobe PDF and then the progress bar came up and then showed not responding. After he did this a couple of times with me standing there I noticed that the save dialog box was opening in the background because I could see the icon blinking on the taskbar. He said that his old computer never did this and that it would always open up and ask where to save the file and never show 'not responding' on the progress bar. The other person having the same issue is running the same version but she has had the program installed on her machine for a few months and an older version on before that.
Is there a way to make the dialog box show as soon as you print to the Adobe PDF printer? What is causing this? Is there another way to create a pdf from MS Office like the add-on?

How to change the background of a JPanel when printing?

I have a JPanel that has a background color of gray when displayed on the screen. I would like to change the background to white when printing but leave it gray on the screen. I am calling setBackground(), clearRect() and fillRect() but it still prints out with the gray background. Any thoughts on what method I could call to change this?

From reading the doc, it appears that you have to change the background color of the Component:
setBackground
public abstract void setBackground(Color color)
Sets the background color for the Graphics2D context. The background color is used for clearing a region. When a Graphics2D is constructed for a Component, the background color is inherited from the Component. Setting the background color in the Graphics2D context only affects the subsequent clearRect calls and not the background color of the Component. To change the background of the Component, use appropriate methods of the Component.

When I try to print, I get one page with a header and the background image, another page with the content, and a third page with a footer and background image. How can I make it print properly?

Also, if I print to a .pdf, the background does not show up even if I have the checkbox checked to print background image.

I did not have the HP printer software for Mac OSX installed properly. Once installed the problem went away.
