Printing iphoto book

Trouble printing iphoto books. I've been creating a iphoto books and then printing them out on my canon mp530 printer so that I can put the pages in protective sleeves and then send update pages to family albums. My problem is when I print the pages from the iphoto book, some of the pictures have heads cut off etc. The picture on the photo book page is fine but when "I"print I'm not getting what I see. Is this apples way to control the iphoto book and force us to buy the album? or is there something I can do to make it work?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Do a Print to PDF first, check the pdf version. If the image looks OK in the PDF it should print OK from the PDF.
On one of the photos that were chopped off, Control-click on the photo in the book and select "Fit Photo to Frame" option in the contextual menu. Then try again.
Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Printing iPhoto book in Mexico?

Ordering an iPhoto book (or anything) for print is not available in Mexico yet. Yeah, bummer.
I've read somewhere that this can be accomplished in some way by exporting the photo book to PDF, and take this to any local printer. Has anyone tried this at all? Are the results good enough? Any advise to get the best results on this task?
    Thanks.

  • How do I print iPhoto books in another country?

My iPhoto '09 automatically points to the US site for printing books. I would like to get it to use the UK site and have delivery in the UK. How do I change the settings to achieve this?
    Regards
    Jim

It should. You don't need to create a new account. Just change your online account information that's used with the 1-Click buying in your current account and that should get you to a UK print site so you can ship to a UK address.
However, I may have been wrong in my first response. In the iPhoto 08 Order and Printing Options the following is stated about European orders:
+Customers with a billing address in Europe can have their orders shipped to any European country where iPhoto Internet services are available. To see a list of countries where Internet services are available, see Related Topics below.+
I should imagine that hasn't changed with newer version of iPhoto. The original document is Which regions and countries print products can be shipped to.
Don't know if you have time to contact Apple at http://www.apple.com/support/photoservices/contact_us/ to see about your German credit card.

  • Specs exist somewhere for printing iPhoto books?

Are there specs available somewhere that detail how the books are printed (paper weight etc.) and how they prefer files? i've read that files should be in RGB form but the printing is in cmyk, are they converting it? if my originals are in cmyk why not leave it that way? (this is for a portfolio, not a photo book of my digital photos).
    thanks

  • Is it possible to put together and order an iPhoto book using my iPad?

Is it possible to put together and order a printed iPhoto book using my iPad

No. The iPhoto for iOS can edit photos and share them to social media sites like Facebook. But the app does not have the capability of creating photo books.

  • Most predictable iPhoto book results

    Hi -
I'm getting ready to order my first iPhoto book, but after reading in this forum about the problems that people have had with sRGB vs. Adobe RGB, and 1.8 vs. 2.2 gamma settings, etc, I want to make sure that my order is as predictable as possible. I don't have a thorough understanding of what I'm talking about when I use these terms, but I want to make at least a minimal best effort to do this right the first time.
    1. After reading in these discussions, it seems that in most cases, the color profile called "Camera RGB" is close enough to "sRGB" for the purposes of printing iPhoto books. Any photos in my book that are NOT either "Camera RGB" or "sRGB" should be converted to "sRGB". Is this correct?
    2. Gamma 1.8 vs. 2.2 - I have a relatively new iMac and the default Display Profile is set to "iMac". When I change it to "sRGB IEC61966-2.1", I hate the affect that it has on the color in general. Everything becomes significantly more bluish and somewhat darker. I used the 'calibrate' function in System Preferences, and that helped a bit, but I don't want to go through the trouble or expense of purchasing a stick-on-the-screen hardware color tester. Do I need to be changing my monitor settings at all, or can I just change my Display Profile back to "iMac" and ignore this issue all together ?
Thanks for any help you may have to offer.

    doogles:
1 - yes. the Camera RGB is very close to sRGB and will give good results. That's what I use. If I do any editing with Photoshop then I'll apply the sRGB profile so as to be consistant.
2 - as far as the monitor profile, I suggest you stick with the iMac. It's an iffy thing and unless you can't print and get reasonably close colors yourself don't change. This site has some good color test chart files you can download and print to see how close your monitor matches the printer. If it's good I would expect the book to be as well.
The key is to not have some Abobe RGB profiles scattered among the others in a book. They print up very differently.
Before ordering be sure to Control click next to a page in the book mode (not on the page) and select Safe as PDF in the contextual menu. Open the pdf file with Preview and check the text and color so make sure all looks well. If it does go ahead and order. Good luck.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. in the iPhoto preferences  change the print products country to the UK and give it a try - there may be some restirctions on billing but it has worked for some people

  • Why can't I print a book with iphoto 09?

I have a book under "keepsakes" that it says (0) next to the name of the album. But when I open it up you can see the pictures in there. I can't print the book though when I'm ready to input the number of copies that part is in gray and it won't let me choose one. I tried with another album and it doesn't work either.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks

    Paulina,
Sorry I don't know the answer to your question, however you may have better luck posting in the iPhoto forum, click the link and it will take your there. Then repost, that forum is where the iPhoto guru's hang out if you can't get help on this forum.

  • Is it possible to reorder an iPhoto book 2 years later? My hard drive crashed and the photo book is no longer in my iPhoto but Apple printed it for me before the crash.  Would Apple still be able to print another copy?

Is it possible to reorder an iPhoto book 2 years later? My hard drive crashed and the photo book is no longer in my iPhoto but Apple printed it for me before the crash.  Would Apple still be able to print another copy?

For future books you might consider doing what I do:  create a separate library for each book andcopy the photos for the book from your working library to the book library with iPhoto Library Manager.
When the book is completed and ordered burn the library package to a CD, DVD or external HD to archive it so it's available for editing and reordering at a later date if needed.

  • Unable to upload iPhoto book to print from iPad

I have been unable to upload my iPhoto book to print it from my iPad...
It will go through the process of requesting apple ID password --> verifying my credit card --> then will say "placing order. uploading project"  and look like it is uploading (ie blue bar showing progress) and sometimes this is progressing for hours, but then the app will crash and close down.
Things I've tried/confirmed so far:  I have the up to date versions of iOS and iPhoto, I have it connected to wi-fi and plugged in, I have closed down all other apps on the iPad
Has anyone else had this issue? Any solutions?
Is there a way to upload it from my computer instead? -- I have a PC but have been unable to find the 'book' or photos in iTunes or elsewhere on the computer to even try this...
    Thanks for any help!

You have covered most issues, but you do not mention how much free memory you are having on your iPad. Submitting a book for printing need plenty of free memory on your iPad, about the same amount as the combined size of your photos. Could it be, that you are running out of memory?
Another reason might be an unprintable, corrupted photo in your book.

To order a photo book from Apple you need an Apple computer or an iOS device.
To transfer the photos to your PC see:

  • IPhoto Book Print - Rejected

    Sirs
Could you please help me with an issue that I currently have with iPhoto.
As a Christmas Present for my 6 year old daughter, I have created an iPhoto book of our recent trip to EuroDisney. I completed the book and purchased it via the Apple Store in iPhoto.
However, I have today received an email stating as follows:
    To Our Valued Apple Customer:
It appears that when your order was submitted to Apple, an error caused the
image file to be unreadable or unprintable. As a result, Apple is unable to
process your order and you will not be charged. We recommend the following
      before submitting your order:
      1. Update your software.
      2. Restart your computer.
      3. Make sure all applications are closed.
      4. Open iPhoto or Aperture.
      5. While all other applications are closed, preview your print product as a
      PDF.
      6. Resubmit your order.
While previewing and resubmitting your order, make sure all other applications
are closed. For instructions on how to update your software, refer to:
Mac OS X - Updating your software
      <http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1338>
I have checked the version of my MacBook - it is OS X 10.7 and I have checked the version of my iPhoto - it is 9.1.5. When selecting purchase in iPhoto, it is stating that I need to upgrade to 9.2.3. However, when I attempt to check for new updates in iPhoto itself, it is stating that my version is the latest version. Furthermore, checking for software updates via the Apple logo does not bring up any update for iPhoto nor does any updates in my Application Store.
It seems as if I require an update but there are no ways in which I can update this.
Could someone please advise / assist as I desperately want to get this book printed.
    Many Thanks
    Paul

If you update your system to 10.7.5 with the OS X Lion Update 10.7.5 (Client Combo) and OS X Lion 10.7.5 Supplemental Update updaters you can update your iPhoto version all the way to 9.4.2 thru the updaters availailable here: Apple - Support - Downloads-iPhoto 9.
But that's no guarantee that will fix the problem. If the problem image appears OK in a PDF preview of the book it should, as Larry pointed out, print out OK.  If it doesn't look OK in the PDF preview file export it out of iPhoto, open in Preview and export as a new, JPEG file.  Import it back into iPhoto, add to the book and replace the problem file with the newly created one.  Then create a new PDF file of the book and check that photo.

  • Iphoto book printing outside US

I want to order an iPhoto book in The Netherlands. When I press Buy Book I only get the option to buy in the US. I created a new Apple ID with an address in The Netherlands. Still I can only enter a shipping address in the US when I press Buy Book.

Go to iPhoto's Advanced preference pane and select Netherlands under the  Print Products Store menu.

  • How apple will print an iphoto book ? Does anyone will see it while printing there? or does the printing processes will be automatically?

    Hello,
I am muslim girl and I usually cover my hair and my body as well. ( in my religion no men allow to see my body uncovered ). I have created an iphoto book with my pictures without the covers. I would like to purchase the book through apple store. But I am worried if someone will see my pictures while printing the book in the lap or not (especially men) ? I have contact customer service in New Zealand to have the answer but they couldn't help me.
    So my Question is:
Do you know what exactly the processes of printing the book? is it going to be automatic or someone will review my order and see it ?
I haven't purchase the book yet.
I am waiting for your answers
    Ba2ol

As this is important to you I would think it very likely that at some point in the process - Quality Control, for instance - the book will be reviewed by a person. As to the sex of that person, we have no way of knowing.
