Printing is out of order

I have a new 15 in. Macbook Pro. and an ancient hp deskjet 845c printer. On my windows computer I had no problems and on the new mac my printing is a little screwy. For example I just printed off about 5 different documents in .pdf form through preview. In each the order was backwards for me. If my document had 3 pages, I would expect the order to be 1st page - or title, 2nd, and 3rd, as was lined up in the document. Instead it prints 3, 2, 1, with the title page on the bottom. I'm sure this is an easy fix, maybe I setting to be tweaked somewhere but apparently I don't know enough about it, any ideas?

That's a function of the printer driver.
1 Select the Print dialog by typing command-P or by selecting 'Print' from the File menu.
2 The Print dialog appears. If it is in 'collapsed' mode, select 'full' mode by clicking on the triangle to the right of the printer's name.
3 If the Print dialog is in 'full' mode, look for a pull-down menu with the name of the application you're running; if you're in the Finder, look for 'Finder', if you're in Safari, look for 'Safari', etc.
4 Pull down the menu and look for 'Paper Handling'. Select that. The Print dialog should change.
5 Depending on which printer you use, there should be two or three new pull-down menus at the bottom of the Print dialog. Look for one which says 'Page Order' or similar; the exact wording will vary depending on which printer you are using. There should be two or three options. Select 'Reverse Order' or wording similar.
6 Print. The pages should appear in the order you wish. If they don't, try one of the other options.
Note that typically the printer driver will try to print pages so that when you pick up the printed document, page 1 is uppermost. Some printers print with the output coming out face up; they would usually print the last page first and the first page last, in the order 5-4-3-2-1. Some printers print with the output coming out face down; they normally print with the first page first and the last page last, in the order 1-2-3-4-5.
Depending on the printer there may be other options, including printing out of order, printing just some pages, printing in booklet order, and printing upside down.
Note that your printer is an older one, and printer drivers supplied from HP may be minimal; you may get better drivers from the HPIJS Project <http://www.linuxfoundation.org/collaborate/workgroups/openprinting/macosx/hpij s%23Printers> or GutenPrint <http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/MacOSX.php>. Both 3rd-party sources support the DJ845.

  • Prints received out of order

Is it normal to have Apple ship your printed photos (4x6's) in a different order than what you sent them from iPhoto as? I spent some time carefully arranging the photos in my album so that when I received the printed photos they would already be in order, ready for inserting into my photo album - alas, when I received the photos they were in completely random order, and not even date/time information anywhere to help me, not even on the index print! I had to spend just as much time arranging the photos in chronological order using my iPhoto display as a guide - it was time-consuming and frustrating! Is this to be expected when ordering prints from Apple, or should I make a complaint/comment?

I'm guessing that the uploaded files were arranged by the default alphanumerical order that the Finder uses. For future orders you need to arrange them in the order you want, batch rename them sequentially and then export to the desktop using the Use Title Option. Then, you need to manually add a zero to the first nine photos, -1 to -01, etc., so they will be listed in the correct order. Those are the files you'll need to upload for printing. Yes, it's a lot of extra work.

  • Photoshop Batch Bulk Print Action Printing Out of Order

I have 900 files I need to print out. I created an action that simply prints the current document, then closes it. The problem is, photoshop is printing the files out in random order. The files are numerically ordered, it should print in order.
I go to File -> Automate -> Batch and select the printing action that I recorded and set the folder that contains the image files. The image files are all labeled numerically from the data set merge I did within photoshop.
The problem is, even though this list is in numerical order, photoshop will print these out in random order. For example, the file folder containing the image files is listed below in correct order.
    Instead photoshop printed them in this order: CustomMailer_Data Set 1, CustomMailer_Data Set 10, CustomMailer_Data Set 11, CustomMailer_Data Set 12, CustomMailer_Data Set 13, CustomMailer_Data Set 14, CustomMailer_Data Set 16
Please help, I really need this bulk action to print them out in order, I have no idea what the program is doing.

    @Paul Riggott,
Thanks for taking the time to write the script, I really appreciate it. However, I seem to be using it incorrectly since its not renaming my files.
    here is what I did.
    1. Launched Adobe ExtendScript & Pasted your code in
    2. Saved out script file to desktop
    3. Launch Photoshop, file ->script->browse to locate where script was saved to
    5. Select source file containing PSDs to rename
    Below shows the results.
Tried running it directly within extend script as well with no luck.

  • Ordering prints - They come out of order!

    Hey everyone,
Whenever I order prints through iPhoto, they look great but always come out of order! If it is an event from start to finish, you want them to come in the order they were ordered in!
Has anyone seen this problem, or better yet, found a solution?
    Thanks!

Yes, everyone who orders prints sees this and it's explained here:
    http://www.apple.com/support/photoservices/ordering_options/
*Will my prints arrive in the same sequence as they were submitted?*
When you submit an order, your image files are uploaded to Apple's servers. When the lab is ready to print your order, it downloads the images from Apple's servers. During this process, smaller image files typically download more quickly than larger image files. The lab generally prints the pictures in the sequence in which the images finish downloading, which might not be the order in which you submit them. This is common practice among printers of digital photographs.
There is no solution for this.

    TD

  • HP8600: pages printing out of order; Win XP; MS Word

HP OfficeJet 8600; Windows XP; working in MS Word
    Hi.
I just purchased this printer.  Trying to get the duplex printing feature to work properly.  I does print duplex, but the pages are out of order.  Instead of pages being in numerical order as you go from front of page to back of page, then to front of next page and back of it.....  it is printing page #1 on front, #3 on back, then #2 on front of next page, #4 on back.
I'm sure this is a question of settings.  With any settings changes I'ved made, it prints exactly the same way every time.  So I've apparently not found the right thing to change yet!
    Thanks

    Disregard....
right after posting my question, I went back to play with the settings again.  I know I tried 'front of sheet', but apparently didn't try 'back of sheet'.
sorry for wasting your time looking !
    have a great day!

  • Printing out of order in iphoto 11

I recently upgraded from Iphoto 8 to Iphoto 11.For my work I need to create contact sheets of up to 100 photos that would be in a specific order. I put the photos that I want to use into a folder and change the view to Maunual. This allows me to add the photos in the order that I want to see them on the contact sheet. In Iphoto 8 these photos would print in the order that I had placed them, but in I photo 11 it moves them into some default order when printing?
What is going on and how can I print them in the order that I need them?
    Thanks
    Eric

Its might be iPhoto... But, I dont think so.
I think it is something with iTunes...
All my devices show multiple and scrambled events in iTunes under the photo tab. Both my original Apple TV's, 1st Gen iPad, and iPhone 4...
iTunes bug it seems.... I can't get it fixed.

  • How can I print directly out of Pages on my iPad?

How can I print directly out of Pages on my iPad if my Brother printer is not airprint compatible? I currently have a Brother MFC-J615W and have downloaded the Brother iPrint app; but that only works with pictures and PDFs it seems.  I know I can use the cloud to transfer and just print from my macbook, but I am starting school and would love to cut out that middle step if possible.  I know... how lazy is that? But I feel like I should be able to make it work with a little ingenuity.  Thanks for any info you can provide.

Try to arrange them manually afterwards: afaik, it is impossible to force an order when syncing:

  • Problems with Print Program of Production Order (CO03) !!

    Hi all,
I have a question about Print program of Production Order. I created a new Order in CO01. Then, in CO03, I call Print Program ( menu <b>Functions >> Print</b>). At the first time, it printed a so-called original version. Later, when i printed it again, it informed me that just was a copy. Now, that's ok.
I made some modification of Print Program by copying and changing the code (let's call it Z_PSFCOBJL) and SAPScript form. However, When I call Print function in CO03 for that Order, it didn't show any changes which I made. What's wrong? I checked in the code by debug mode, the variable that I transfered to the form was correct with its value.
<b>I think that because SAP just make a print copy so that it will not reflect any changes that I made to the program, right? Is there any way to overcome this because I don't want to create new Orders just for testing every modification</b>?
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi MURUGESAN THANGATHURAI  ,
Yes, I did assign the new program and new form for this before printing. But I wanna know if there is any way that allows me to view those changes I made?
When I change the code in Print Program, print-out includes this update (although it still informs me that is a copy version). But when I make changes in the SAPScript form (for example, adding a variable for display), <b>it will not update this</b>?
    What's problem?
    Thank you guys.

  • Can you print from the ADF with Officejet Pro 8600 (not plus) & how to print checks in correct order

Client has Officejet Pro 8600 I(not plus) They want to print payroll checks out of QuickBooks but when they put the checks in tray 1, it pulls the check that is on the top, which happens to be the last check # in the stack.  Is there a way to print where the printer pulls from the bottom of the check stack as opposed to the top. I've looked and can't seem to find the answer. QuickBooks says we should check with HP and change something in the print drivers?
So I thought it would fix it if they printed the checks from the ADF where I thought I could control if it pulls from the front or back of the stack. When we tried to print from the ADF, it pulled from Tray 1 and we weren't given the option to print from the ADF.   (only Tray 1 & 2...which they don't have the 2nd tray anyway) So does this model, not being the PLUS model, not allow you to print from the ADF. (only scan, copy and fax from the adf?)
If we can't use the ADF for check printing, then how can we get the checks to print in the correct order.  Meaning, the 1st check # to print should be on the check that is on the bottom of that check stack in Tray 1.  Otherwise they have to count out the exact number of checks & place them in the tray.  Or reverse all of them which is not an efficient either! I hope this makes sense.

    Hi @kceacct ,
I see that you would like to know how to print out the checks in order. I will do my best to help you.
The ADF can be used for copying, scanning and faxing.
From the print driver you can only select the tray that you want to print from.
Changing Print Settings in Windows 8.
You would have to load the checks in order from top to bottom in the paper tray, since the printer just pulls the paper in from the top of the stack of paper.
    Have a nice day!

  • How to export my booklet as a file so I can take to a printer to print it out as a booklet?

This is my VERY first time doing work in the program InDesign and I have managed to create a booklet. However the final step of printing I am having trouble with.I am trying to export my InDesign file (indd.) to a PDF or some kind of file type that I can take to a place where they can print it out like a booklet?
    PLEASE HELP!!
    Lisa

    Hi Lisa
It's easy, you ask your printer what type of PDF s/he wants. Probably one of the InDesign presets. You don't have to worry about imposition, your printer will do that. If you think that there might be some confusion in the page order, or something, you can print out the pages on your desk-top printer and give the printer a rough mock-up.
What is important is that you check your pre-flight settings before you export to PDF. The little green high-light at the bottom-left on your screen should be green. If it's red click on it to see what the issues are.

  • Printing pdf's in order they were created inside Access mdb

Apologies if this is not the correct forum.
I create a number of pdf's from Access reports.  It's not uncommon to create 100+ pdfs at a time.  When the pdfs are printed, they sometimes print out of order and they need to be printed in the order they are sent.  How do I make this
    happen?
I tried setting a timer after each pdf generation.  The code pauses for 15 seconds after sending the pdf to the printer.  This works some days but not all.
Is there another method to achieving this?  Thanks

That would have to be controlled at the printer queue. The only thing I can think of would be to increase your pause time to make sure the first job finishes before the next file is sent.
One way that might work for you is to put as many reports as you can on one main report. The main report would be blank and do nothing more than serve as a "shell" to hold the sub reports. You'd have to put page breaks after each sub to make sure
they end up on separate sheets.

    Hi,
I am using Oracle CEP 11.1.1.4.
I am trying to understand pattern matchin feature therefore my examples are meaningless. I am producing data like that ( between 1-3 and printing to console ):

    00:00:05 Producer produced 2
    00:00:10 Producer produced 1
    00:00:15 Producer produced 3
    00:00:20 Producer produced 3
    00:00:25 Producer produced 1
Then I am looking for the data ( or you can think that as 1-2-3 ) that has been produced once and has not been produced within last 10 seconds.
    I am using system-timestamp channels.
