Printing issue in Photoshop CS5

I have an issue when printing in CS5 with my Epson Photo R3000 networked printer. I am running Windows 7 64bit and CS5 64bit. I have 2 Epson printers connected to my network by ethernet cables, 1 Epson PX720WD (Set as default printer in Windows) and an Epson Photo R3000. Te problem is as follows:
1 Go to print a photo and select the R3000 printer, select Print Settings (make changes as required) select ok and then print. This works fine the issue is that if you select print again and then select Print Settings I get an eror box with the message "because the requested printer does not exist". This can be overcome in 2 ways neither of which is convenient. Select the PX720WD printer for the Printer drop down box then go back and reselct The R3000. or make the R3000 printer the Windows default. When the R3000 is the default printer then ihe PX720WD will not print more than once without getting the "because the requested printer does not exist".
I have spent over and hour and a half chatting online to epson today without success and they decided that you should always have the printer you want to use set as the default. This is not acceptable as in other applications this issue does not exist, so maybe its a CS5 issue.
Any help with this matter would be most useful

If you don't have a second 'real' printer try installing a generic one. then at least you can switch to that one for a work-a-round. I have the exact same issue with my HPZ6100 60"on Win7 Pro 64, CS5 Extended. I thought it was HP's Win7 drivers since my old setup (XP and CS3) worked flawlessly with the HP. Actually the HP 64 bit drivers suck a lot with my current setup; unable to save or recall postscript page sizes and that 'printer doesn't exist every time I try printing a new file. Since I have a number of other printers installed I just do the 'switcheroo' and that takes care of it. Pain in the -ss but because HP has their heads up their backsides it's unlikely anyone there realizes that they used to make really nice printers and at one time had an excellent support system for imaging professionals. Grrr

  • Cannot Open Print Setup in Photoshop CS5

I am using an iMac and an Epson 3800 printer.  After opeining the Print page in Photoshop CS5, I am unable to open the "Print Setup" page when I click the "Print Setup" button.  The Print button is already blue when I open the page and when I click "Print Setup", the "Print Setup" button temporarily turns blue and the Print button grays out, but "Print Setup" page never opens.  When I unclick the mouse, the Print button turns blue again and always runs the printer if I click it.   I am able to make prints in this manner, but I cannot make any adjustments at all.  Prior to attempting to print, I did an update of Apple's Epson Print software, and got an error message saying that the software could not access something about my "library".  I did not write down the error message  as the updater told me that updating was complete. I have no problem with my laprop accessing the "Print Setup" page.  Even after updateing the same Apple Epron Print software on it.  I did not have this problem on my iMac when I was printing back in January.  I deleted adn reinstalled teh Epson print driver, did some additional updates from teh Epson site, and still no luck.  I deactivated, uninstalled, and reinstalled my Photoshop CS% software aand again no luck. Has anayone else run into this problem and have any advice how to fix this problem.

No need for anyone to respond.  I kept testing out my problem and discovered there wsa no glicth.  I happened to have teh "printer manages colors" selected instead of Photoshop manages colors"  ONce I switched to Photoshop manages colors, I could then access "Page Setup" window.

  • Issues installing Photoshop CS5 in my Mac Book Pro

I have heard that there are issues installing Photoshop CS5 in case sensitive Snow Leopard drives. How do I know if I have a case sensitive drive. I was able to download the 30 trial version of Photoshop CS5. My file system is listed as - Journaled HFS+. Is anyone familiar with this issue and will I have this issue installing Photoshop CS5 on my Mac? Thanks.

As you had already downloaded the installer, give it a try. Well if your file system is Journaled HFS+ installer will not report any error related to file system.
To check the file system -
Finder > File > New Finder Window
Select only the volume under Devices for which you wish to get the file system information.
    File > Get Info
    Under General tab check Format:
I believe it would be just "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)" in your case. For case-sensitive it would be like -
"Mac OS Extended (Case-sensitive, Journaled)" or "Mac OS Extended (Case-sensitive)"

  • Printing from Adobe Photoshop CS5 on a HP Color Laserjet CP5225 printer

    Hi
When I want to print something out from Photoshop CS5 on my printer I get this error.
    PCL XL Error
    Subsystem: KERNEL
    Error: IllegalOperatorSequence
    File name: derived_scr/1x55.ndbg.kernel.c
    Line number: 1820
My windows system is Windows xp proffesional with servicepack 3.
If I print out from other program I don´t get any errors.
This is a new printer and before I got this I had a HP Color Laserjet CP5225 and there were no
problems printing out from Adobe Photoshop CS5.
I really hope someone can help my quickly because I have some tickets I have to print out for tomorrow.
    Kind regards

You posted in the wrong forum, and an admin moved it for you.
Unfortunately the error is from the printer driver, not Photoshop.
Assuming you're using the latest version of Photoshop (12.0.4 or 12.1), you need to contact HP for an updated driver to fix their bugs.
(if you don't have the latest version - go update now)

  • Print issue with Photoshop CS4 and Officejet 6500

I have a Windows 7 Business 64 bits desktop computer. After  installing the Officejet Pro 6500 multifunctional drivers all was  working OK. Images were being printed nice and with the correct size  using Windows print option. After installing Adobe CS4 suite, all images  printed from windows or Photoshop have incorrect size (photoshop prints  it smaller, about 33%, and on upper left corner of the sheet).
Photoshop sucks but Illustrator print fine. The only way I can print  at the good size in Photoshop, it's when I select Microsoft XPS  document writer as printer and print from there... Not very user friendly !!!
And  yes, it was always the HP Officejet 6500 E709n fax selected by default  by Photoshop instead of  HP Officejet 6500 E709n !
Is anybody can say if it's an HP issue or an Adobe issue ??? Why Illustrator print fine and Photoshop don't ???
    Thank's  in advance.

Deleting the fax printer  associated with this device to allows correct printing is not an  acceptable alternative for me.
If it is a printer issue, why I can print correctly from Illustrator ???

Or: you can go into windows and select a default printer or then the one you use to print with in PS. Then when you are ready to print in PS select the printer. See if that works.
That's my normal configuration then I can't change nothing when all is ok.
Thank you very much for your answer ! Maybe anybody have an other solution or explanation.
    Thank's for your patience.

  • Print settings on Photoshop CS5

Has the ability to select print settings (size and type/profiles of paper to be printed) with Photoshop CS5 been elimnated?   Is there some different  way I can select the settings?
I am now unable to find a way to select size and paper type, even though I was able to until very recently. There is no longer a File>Print Settings pull down menu selection.  FYI: I'm using a Mac 10.9.2 and a Epson Sylus Photo 1800 printer. It seems when I go to print with Photo Shop the paper size is stuck on 4 x 6, even though when I hit Print, the window shows that the image is a larger size. There is a Print Settings button, but nothing happens if I click it. (I can print on larger size, like letter, if using any other application. I can get a decent print on 4x6 glossy paper, when that's the set image size.

Gooie dag! Fiery... I have worked with one in the past... My first gut feeling would be to try to reinstall the printer driver on that machine after Photoshop's install, but you indicate having done that already.
As an alternative, did you try to repair Photoshop's installation by running the installer again?
So, you cannot print, or cannot see the settings after the Photoshop print dialogue?

  • Printing PDFs from Photoshop CS5 creates unworkable miniature files

I work on Photoshop CS5 files and print them to pdf all day long with no trouble, most of the time. Occasionally however I complete a file in Photoshop and print to pdf and the file outputs as some kind of completely unworkable miniature. Very small file that fits in a tiny corner of the canvas size it should occupy. Once this occurs I must reboot my computer 3-4 times before the print to pdf features returns to normal function.  Today this happened on two separate computers almost simultaneously after I switched over from one to the other to get this job out and it occurred to me it might have been the actual file I was working with. Corrupt or something. The I tested some files that had worked in the past and they too went "miniature".  When this happens I save as pdf just to get the job out. While this works, the saved pdf is always a much larger file than the printed pdf version, with completely similar resolution quality. I love my print pdf feature, but it seems to have developed a little occasional psychosis in version CS5 and I was wondering if anyone has a fix up their sleeve, or can tell me what setting I am accidentally activating to make the output so tiny. It's pretty frustrating.

  • Can't print "disk error" Photoshop CS5 MacBook Pro 10.6.4

Well I used to be able to print from photoshop, and now I can't, any time I send anything to print it just says Could not print "img123" because of a disk error. No more information is available, completely flustered with Adobe's support available, seems like a maze that keeps sending me back to the beginning, no way to talk to a person on the weekend, and no way to just send an email asking for support... can't find anything in the online help or forums...
    Please Help!!
    -Katie

I had the same problem with all of you but cannot solve it with above solutions.  I am using OSX 10.6 and CS5. I finally solved it by following below few sample steps from here:
    http://forums.macnn.com/t/445004/photoshop-cs5-no-longer-prints-after-upgrading-to-lion
    The solution is:
Re-create the Photoshop CS5 preferences file:
    Quit Photoshop CS5.
    Rename the Users\\[username]\\Library\\Preferences\\Adobe Photoshop CS5 Settings\\Adobe Photoshop CS5 Prefs.psp folder to Adobe Photoshop CS5 Prefs.old.
Start Photoshop CS5. Photoshop creates a new Adobe Photoshop CS5 Prefs.psp file.
Its work and now I can print all of my file.  Hope this method can help you too.

  • End of File issue with Photoshop CS5

Running Mac OS 10.6.5 and Photoshop CS5
    Steps to reproduce the Problem:
    1. Open .psd file from the server
    2. Make changes
    3. Save
    4. Receive error message: "Could not save as "<filename>" because an unexpected end-of-file was encountered"
    5. Click OK
    6. File disappears from the server
    7. Save again
    8.  Save As prompt appears
    9. Same location is selected with same file name. The file saves correctly.
    Work around:
    1. Click Photoshop->Preferences->File Handling
    2. Under File Saving Options->Image Previews
    3. Change to "Never Save"
This option does not seem to have any affect on viewing the list of files in Windows Explorer, but does affect how the files can be viewed in the Mac Finder.
It appears that disabling the option to save “ImagePreview/Icon” results the file no longer being able to Previewed from within Finder.  It also results in the File having a generic ICON.
Hope that this helps others who may be experiencing the same issue.
Will take suggestions for other work arounds or fixes.
Adobe basically says "We don't support working with files directly from a server".
I don't have this problem using Photoshop CS4.

Just to make sure: You are aware that this is not a Photoshop-issue per se even if it may be the only application that produces the problem for you?

  • Issues opening Photoshop CS5 Design Premium

When we try opening Photoshop CS5 we get this popup above and it does not allow us to open Photoshop.  Photoshop was working fine for several months before this and we did not do any major updates to our system.  I have tried uninstalling and reinstallng CS5, and we still get this message.  We are running Windows XP Professional on all of our machines.  Any help would be great.

Crashes are often associated with driver problems.
Is it possible Windows Update or something caused a new display driver to be installed?
It's usually best to visit the web site of the maker of your display adapter (video card), and download/install their latest for your particular model.
Other things that can send Photoshop "off the deep end" are bad 3rd party plug-ins, or even corrupted or badly crafted fonts.  Have you installed any of these since it worked?

  • Printer dialogue problem - Photoshop CS5

The dialogue options for paper size and kind of paper all of a sudden does not show in the print dialog box.  I deleted and added by Epson 2200 printer, removed the com.adobe.CSX52Preferences.plist and installed the latest printer driver. If I change to Photoshop manages color, the options reappear, but when I return to Printer manages color, the color is not right.  I am using Epson lustre paper.  I am using Mac IOS X.6.8
Please help me resolve this issue.
    Thanks.

The short answer is yes, I still see the same problem after following your instructions.  First, after clicking ok the first time I chose [Print Settings], when I again chose [Print Settings] I got the inane "Because the printer does not exist" error message.  I plunged ahead nonetheless, choosing a different printer, allowing the software to digest that, then choosing the R2000 again, whereupon I was able to choose [Print Settings].  In the meantime, of course, the software had lost all the modifications I had made the first time through.  I made the same changes again, printed the file, saved it, and exited Photoshop.  I then reopened the same file in Photoshop, but it had lost all the changes I had made (twice) the previous time I had it open.
I've found that if I open a file and choose print, I can select [Print Settings] without an error.  If I print it, then try to print it again, I get the error message on selecting [Print Settings].  If I instead open a different file and choose print, I can select [Print Settings] without getting the error message.  As long as it's the first time in the session (not sure if it's triggered by a lapse of time or closing and reopening the file), I can select [Print Settings] file after file without seeing the error message.  This is small consolation if the print job I'm doing is a bunch of reprints of the same file.

  • Epson 5500 Printing Issues with Photoshop

I hope someone can help me.  I design wedding invitations and I use Crane paper.  When I design in Photoshop and print on the Epson 5500 the color black or any other color comes out lighter than what the screen color is.  Any suggestions?  Thanks.

I find using cotton paper makes the image clearer.  I have only used the printe for the cotton paper.  They look beautiful.  Just recently I started to print text on the paper and that is when I am running into problems.
    1) I am using an older version of Photoshop 6.0.  I know I have to upgrade.
    2) I have done a lot of research and it looks like I may have outdated printer drivers.  Could that be the case?  I did download the driver from Epson. Is there another driver I may install?
    3) I do not understand how my picture can come out in beautiful colors but my wording looks like crap.  When I print text the output looks like I am low on ink (that is how bad it looks)......I have a wedding invitation order to print and I cannot give my client this quality of work.
Please help......Maybe I do not understand the color management etc.....Do I need to do something with color management?  I really think it is much deper than that......

  • Problem with printing 6x4 from Photoshop CS5 to Epson 2880

    Hi,
bit of an odd one. I can print A3 and A4 no problem, but when I try to print a 6 x 4 it looks like the printer is not reconising the size of the paper. It prints the image the right size, but as though it were printing it on a larger sheet of paper, in the left hand side with a a 5cm space to the right (which is actually the top of the image).
I have set the printer to 6 x 4 for both image and paper.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

I have an Epson 2200, but am assuming the drivers and print dialog accesing that driver and ICC profiles are very similar to Epson's 2880, which is the same size as the 2200.
In order to print 6 x 4, whish isn't a standard page size in the print dialogs, are you setting up a custom page size? (Print > Print Settings > Page Size > Manage Custom Sizes) - This works fine here, but if the paper is the wrong size, it won't print. The print driver requires that the paper size actually be 6 x 4.
Of course, an alternative approach might be to print on a standard paper size, maybe adding trim marks, and then cutting the page down to 6 x 4 after printing.
If none of this helps, I suggest you contact Epson's tech support.

  • Facing Issue with Photoshop CS5.1

    Hi,
I am facing problem while using Save / Save As / Save for web options in my Photoshop. On clicking Save / Save As commands, my photoshop gets closed abruptly and I am losing all data. If I choose Save for Web option, the file Save dialog box appears and when I click on the 'Save' button, the application gets closed abruptly.
    It was working fine yesterday.
My version is bundled in the Technical Communicator suite 3.5 and I faced some problems with Adobe Acrobat, for which my IT team took support from Adobe and got it resolved just two days ago. (Case ID - 184809966)
Any help on this would be highly appreciable.
