Looks like you'll have difficulty getting a networkable driver - use this technique:

(sorry, it's written for XP not Win 7)

  • I am using Aperture 3 to edit RAW and JPEG photo images on my Macbook.  I am having color printing issues with my Canon MP640 Pixma color printer.  The image I see on my macbook is not reciprocated in printing from my printer?

My issue is that I am not getting print quality compared to the image I see on my screen.  Just recently it has been very wishie washie.  My printer is supposed to be excellent for producing color prints
I have contacted Canon support but they told me that the signals that are sent to the printer originate from an Apple product, therefore, it is an Apple mac problem not there's.  I am wondering if my on screen proofing and/or printing profiles are correctly set.  I notice that in 'print profiles' there are nine different options for printing from my particular printer.  How confusing is that?
I have also found that when I choose a high standard print option my photo print comes out very red.
Can some kind person please help me?  I don't seem to be getting any help from anyone else!  Thanks in anticipation.

You didn't mention any color calibration being done on your monitor.  This is an essential part of any color-correct workflow.  What are you using to calibrate your monitor (and your printer)?
Print profiles (for soft-proofing as well as printing) are for specific combinations of paper & printer.  The nine you have are each, most likely, for a common paper (perhaps mfr'd by Canon) to be used with your printer.
I don't know what you mean when you say "I choose a high standard print option".
Have you read the User Manual chapter on printing?

There is also a good appendix on calibration:

  • TS3147 Cannot print on network with canon LBP 7660 . Mavericks 10.9.2

Hello since Mavericks Upgrade, no IP print capabilities with Canon LBP 7660 cdn.
    Every thing work fine before.
Re installing and upgrading with last drivers on Canon Site change nothing. Re-initialize print system several times...
    Nothing works.
It seems the Printer is seeing busy by the mac.
PC on Vista do the job
Apple remains me the the earliest Windows....
What can I do to made the printer work properly ??

It sounds like you created the printer using the wrong protocol. When adding an IP printer on the Mac, IPP is the default protocol set, however this protocol is not compatible with the Canon UFR2 driver. So remove the printer from Printers & Scanners and add again, this time ensure you select either Line Printer Daemon-LPD or HP Jetdirect-Socket for the protocol.

  • Cannot print to Canon LBP 3360 since upgrading to Mavericks

I cannot print to my Canon LBP 3360 since upgrading to Mavericks.  Would anyone know of a work around for this.  Canon is not making any promises about upgrading the driver.

Canon Australia seems to have resolved this issue for all UFR II/UFRII LT printers .  Ooof !

  • I cant print text to Canon LBP 5100

I have Canon LBP 5100 colour laser printer connected via a network.  It used to be fine but now will not print text in a document sent from my iMac or a Macbook Pro.
If the document contains text and graphics it will print the graphics only.  It is not only black but all colours.  The appropriated dialogue comes up in the "Print box" with the correct Quick Preview.  It just wont print.  If the file is text only, nothing happens at the printer - not even blank paper.
I can print correctly to another printer on the network.
However the Canon will print correctly from a Windows computer attached to the network.
I have reinstalled the printer driver on my iMac.
    Any ideas or help??

I have just solved this using the "More like this" discussions.  There is a new CAPT driver available from the Canon website  http://support-au.canon.com.au/contents/AU/EN/0900772205.html
I downloaded and installed it.  Then deleted and re-installed the printer and it works!
Thanks to all the helpful comments on the other threads.
    Hope this helps somebody else.

  • Problem of canon Lbp 2900 printer with my airport express

I can install canon Lbp 2900 printer connected with my airport express,  but when I print, it shows the communication error. but when I directly install the printer to my macbook through USB, everything works fine ,it can print well. Anyone can help?
and I followed the instructions below:
This is what worked for me...
The printer works with Mavericks using the new CAPT v3.65 driver available here:  http://support-au.canon.com.au/contents/AU/EN/0100420705.html  and the old Mountain Lion patch which is available here:
    https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B7kZEfXZH5ZXOEt0R2NnNVpwdDQ/edit?usp=drive_web&p li=1
Go to System Settings / Printers and Scanners and delete your printer, then restart your computer. Install the new CAPT driver and restart your computer. Install the patch and restart your computer.
Go to System Settings / Printers and Scanners and reinstall your printer selecting Cannon LBP2900 (CAPTuk) driver from the drivers list
You should now have a working printer.
    Good Luck

In crowded WiFi situations, everything will slow down. Based on your description.....it is what it is.
I've already controlled the usage of wifi-channels around and I'm using the one with fewest users.
You want to be the only user on a channel. Even then, users on other adjacent channels in close proximity will drag down the bandwidth/speed on the entire network.

  • Time Capsule printing Canon LBP 5100 - Snow Leopard

    Hello!
I am happily able to print via USB to my printer - a canon LBP 5100 but unable to do the same via the TC.
    1. The time capsule is set up for printing.
    2. The printer options 'sees' the printer as an option in the 'add printer' dialog box. So I try to add the wireless printer - and go through to the printer driver section (this works fine when attached via USB). Then the printer name simply does not appear under the Canon USB (CUPS CAPT) option - which was how I set up the driver for USB printing.
    3. I have tried closing and re-mapping the USB printer. It works just fine - and the CUPS CAPT option opens up everytime. The same does not happen via the TC - despite the fact the TC is set up ok and it can see the canon printer. It just cannot locate the driver in the same way that it does when linked up via USB.
So after several hours of attempts I am pretty vexed!
    Any advice appreciated.

The proprietary Canon CAPT and UFR2 drivers cannot be used when the printer is connected to the USB port of an Airport device or print server. This is a limitation of these drivers and there is nothing you can do to resolve this (at least nothing I have ever found).
For the Canon models with Ethernet, you can connect the printer to the Ethernet port of the Airport device and print successfully this way. But with devices that do not offer Ethernet, such as your LPB5100, then you have no option but to connect the Mac via USB when you need to print.
    Sorry for the bad news.

  • Remote Desktop Connection and printing issues

    Hi,
I am using Windows 7 on my desktop and also connected to Windows Server 2008 R2 to run applications in Windows Server. However, I noted there is problem with the printer issues. Sometimes, when I tried to print some documents using applications
in Windows Server with my local printer in my room connected to desktop, it won't work.
Moreover, I need to go to Windows Server, Component Service to restart printer spooler so it will work again. This is a pain.
I also noticed there is about 30 seconds wait to process any document to print.
Unlike if I print documents directly from my local desktop computer running Windows 7 and connected to local printer, it only takes seconds to print.
My desktop is connected to Windows Server 2008 via local area network. I should not expect such a significant delay in printing.
I also wonder why printer spooler needs to be restarted when printer is not working.
Can anyone advise me about this? Can Microsoft looks into this problem and release updates to fix the bug to improve the system?
    Thanks
    Regards,
    Clement

    Hi,
Please check if you turn on this settings:
You need to set this up just before you connect. The setting will be saved so that you won't need to change it the next time you connect.
    1. Open Remote Desktop Connection by clicking the Start button, clicking
All Programs, clicking Accessories, and then clicking
    Remote Desktop Connection.
2.Click Options, and then click the Local Resources
    tab.
3.Under Local devices and resources, select the Printers check box.
4.Click Connect to start the session.
Make sure that you select your printer in the Print dialog box each time you print.

  • Canon LBP 6200d No longer printing on 10.9.5

I have a Canon LBP 6200d compact laser printer and it was working fine with the UK CAPT driver. I must have installed an update form Apple or something and now it no longer works. I removed the driver, added it again, deleted this and that in the /library/ folder and re-installed the CAPT software 3.67 and still nothing. It shows up in the USB discovery. I can add it and choose the LBP6200 UK CAPT selection and then it shown a green light idle online but when I send anything to it the light goes yellow and the job spools indefinitely.
So did Apple "seal" up this loophole of being able to print to a printer that is officially not supported by Mac in the US (It seems to be supported everywhere else).
    Thanks!

  • Driver for Canon LBP-3000 printer

    to all,
i could imagine tha there would be no driver of the LBP-3000 available for mac...
i found a site, saying that there is a CAPT driver from a japanese canon's site. the problem is... the dirver fits only up to Mac OS X 10.4.4... the OS in my macbook is tiger...
    what should i do???
    thanks!

10.4.4 is Tiger. Current build is 10.4.6. Next one coming up is 10.4.7, so this driver is supported in Tiger.
    From MacOSHints:
After months of frustration of having to use Virtual PC running Windows XP in order to print to the Canon LBP 3000, I've finally discovered that Canon has indeed (albeit silently to the whole world) released a CAPT printer driver that works without the ridiculous requirement of having to have the Japanese version of OS X installed. This is not the Linux CUPS version, it is the full LBP CAPT driver made by Canon themselves. Software support: 10.2.8 thru to 10.4.4 (in English)
    http://cweb.canon.jp/drv-upd/lasershot/captusbmacx.html
    It apparently works with:
    LBP-2410 / 1210 / 1120 / 1110 / 1110, Premium / 1110SE, LBP5200 / 5000 / 3600 / 3500 / 3300 / 3210 / 3200 / 3000.
I've tested it with LBP3000 on 10.4.5 (directly and via Printer Sharing). The installer is in Japanese, and it quits all applications and requires a restart, and requires you to manually setup the printer using the System Preferences. After this mild digression, you have full printer functionality and setup options (including toner usage), all in English, and it's nice and fast.
My insanity has now gone, and I can now terminate that unnecessary relationship with Virtual PC for good!
PS: Japanese language skills are not required, just press the default button(s) when installing. If you're looking for an excellently cheap printer, I can now seriously recommend the LBP-3000.

  • Printer driver for canon LBP-1120

    Hi guys,
I'm searching for a printer driver for the Canon Lasershot LBP-1120. I've been looking around a bit on google but haven't found anything very helpful.
    Thanks.

I don't know how, and if you have to ask, you probably don't, either. Sorry.
If you still have the PC that you can use as print server, try this:

Thank you for supplying the information.
Your image shows that the driver being used is v2.05, which was not 10.8 compatible. The latest version of UFR2 driver is v2.43, so check the Canon web site in your region for this latest version of driver for this model.
After downloading the driver, delete the current printer/s in Print & Scan that are using the v2.05 driver. Then open Finder and navigate to HD > Library > Printers > Canon and trash the UFR2 folder. Then restart the Mac and install the v2.43 driver. When the driver has finished installing, then add the printer in Print & Scan.
