Printing Issue (Skipping of print pages)

Hello Experts,
We have a situation , where a program is run via Tx COWBPACK and HU's are generated and simultaneously "labels" are printed .
Approx 11,000 Labels are printed in 3 plants so approx 4000/plant.
Now this printing takes place at regular interval .. and can be like 25 labels , then 100 labels , then 50 labels and so on.
The problem is , when the printing starts say for printing of 50 labels , then 30 labels are printed properly and then the printing activity halts for about 1 min or so automatically , and when it resumes it starts printing from 32nd and goes on to complete till 50.
When we checked the spool error we saw the following error message displayed
Output device : PPD_frontend printer
Status : Incorrect
Logs show:
Connection closed after (protocol) error (RC=1)
Please note that , the PPD_frontend printer has been properly configued with "sequential printing".
The server has 3 SPO wp's.
This error never used to occur earlier , and it has been observed recently for over 2/3 weeks now.
Will you please provide me some insight to pinpoint out what the error is ??

This behavior is common throughout.. It happens for 20 labels.. for 400 labels for any number of labels...
Unfortunately we are not able to pin point the issue.
The printer setting also seems to be fine.
Could you please provide me some more insight on the SPOOL error that i have mentioned ??

This should be possible if you have applied headers and footers to a non-enterprise view, such as the Gantt Chart view, resource sheet view etc. In this manner we can retain the Header and Footer information in the project after
saving and closing it. (The header and footer information will be available only from the view in which you have applied it)
Hence, if we have customized the Header and Footer in the Gantt Chart view, you will be able to view the same in Resource Usage view.

Print page range set thro Javascript issue in Acrobat 8.0

Hi,
I coded to a bookmark as below in a PDF Using Adobe Acrobat.
this.print({bUI:false, nStart:0, nEnd:1, bSilent: true});
when i click the bookmark the print panel opens with all pages selected. The same working fine with Acrobat 9.0 and other readers. The problem persist only in Acrobat 8.0.
Is it a bug in Acrobat 8.0?

Yes, it's enabled. When i click the bookmark, the Print dialog box opening, which means the Javascript is running. But Print page range is set to All, It suppose to be 1-2.

Printer skipping every second page!

On my Deskjet F380, when printing the pages of a manual from a CD, onto double-sided paper, I opted to print the odd pages first. It then printed pages 1, 5, 9, etc. Same missing pages when printing even numbers. Any suggestions please.

I'm having a similar problem with a Deskjet 2050 All-in-One J510 series. For two sided printing, I want to print first the odd number of pages so that page #1 is the last page printed, I have to select "front to back". (OK, that's backwards from my previous HP printer but it's what works). Then I want to print the even pages on the back sides of the odd pages. So I insert the printed pages and select "print even pages". The printer then prints pages 2, 6, 10, etc. So to work around this glitch, I have to print the even pages one page at a time. BUMMER!! I have tried everything I can think of including reinstalling the software. I conclude that the problem must be corruption of the software on the CD. Apparently this doesn't seem to be a common problem but it has effected the software on three different printers. It seems strange that there have been only three posts on the problem in the last three years but no offered solutions.

I have not done any coding part for print page. I have just did the steps mentioned in DEV Guide
Step 1: Add a page-level button as described in the Buttons (Action/Navigation) document.
Step 2: Assuming your button label is the standard "Printable Page," apply the OA Framework attribute set
/oracle/apps/fnd/attributesets/Buttons/PrintablePage.
Step 3: Set the button's Destination URI property to point to the current page and set the UIX facet parameter (OARF) to printable as shown in the following example (See Controlling UIX Rendering Output for additional information about facets). Remember to retain your application module.

Note: Earlier versions of OA Framework recommended giving the printable page submit button the ID IcxPrintablePageButton. OA Framework detects this ID and behaves appropriately when the user presses the button. Although this still works, new code leverages the facets approach instead.

window.

WOW! I was amazed to see that within minutes of posting my initial thread, I tried something that works.
Apparently, the only way is will actually convert is if you select the regular Print option in the File tab. Then, change the Printer to Adobe PDF & the Paper Size to 11x17. It also worked for 36"x48" becuase I created a custom size named "Poster", so I changed the paper size to Poster & it worked!
I hope this helps someone. I searched for an existing forum on this issue off & on for MONTHS before creating this thread. If anyone has any suggestions why the Adobe PDF tab /PDF Maker wouldn't work, I'd like to know.

Officejet pro 8100 does not print pages in "back to front" sequence

officejet pro 8100: I cant make it print pages in the sequence last page to first page even tho I have set the default printer preferences to "print back to front" AND I have specified "back to front" for the particular print job.
I am using this 8100 as a WIRELESS printer.
Yesterday it worked OK.:
I did NOT turn the printer off over night.
Today it will only print in first-to-last-page sequence.
I have tried the following:
turned printer off; and then on.
rebooted windows 8.1.
rebooted the router.
confirmed that it WILL print in first-to-last-page sequence for each test.
My test document has 4 pages.

When you print an 8 page document FRONT TO BACK page 1 comes out on top.
When you print an 8 page document BACK TO FRONT page 8 comes out on top.
Is that correct?

Printing pages in reverse order as a default for Mac os 10.6.3

Not sure what happened ...
I'm trying to print document from all applications and as a default the driver is printing pages (E.G 20page doc)
with page 1 first and the 2 on top, then 3 etc (pages face up as is ink jet fashion...) finally with page 20 on top ...
No good, not what I want!
I do know that I can open the Word print dialog box which does contain a setting Copies & Pages/Page Handling/Page Order with the options "automatic, normal, reverse" but every time I go into a new doc I have to do this every time.
How do I set this as the default?
Maybe this is not an Apple issue? I'm using an Epson TX810FW ...may have to take it up with them ...?
Any help would be most gratefully appreciated!!

Set it up how you want it and then save it as a preset. You will probably find that once you've used it the print driver will default to it on subsequent printings.

How do I change back the print pages box?

I refreshed Firefox and my print pages box changed. It went from having a long box allowing me to type in say the 1-3, 6,10 pages to two small "from" & "to" boxes. I really need this back to the way it was for my business. I checked IE and that print setup is still the same with the long print page box. How can I fix this issue on Firefox?

Acrobat 9 bug? - Print Pages function does not print all bookmarked pages

We use the Bookmark Print Pages function to allow for easy printing of sections of large PDFs. All of the pages that should be printed are bookmarked. The bookmarked pages print correctly in Adobe 8, but not in Adobe 9.
I have put together a javascript workaround, but would prefer a solution that does not require distributing a file to all users.
I would appreciate any suggestions on other possible workarounds.
Here is the bug report I submitted to Adobe:
Concise problem statement: The "Print Pages" function for bookmarks does not print all bookmarked pages in Adobe Reader 9.0 and 9.1. The same bookmarks print properly in Adobe Reader, Standard, and Pro 8.
Steps to reproduce bug:
1. Open the Adobe Acrobat SDK JavaScript for Acrobat API Reference PDF (Version 8.1, April 2007) in Adobe Reader 9.0 or 9.1.
2. View the bookmarks. Right-click on New Features and Changes and choose "Print Pages."
3. Open the same PDF in Adobe Reader, Standard, or Pro 8. (I used Adobe Professional 8.1.3.)
4. View the bookmarks. Right-click on New Features and Changes and choose "Print Pages."
Results and Expected results: Printing from v8 results in 12 pages. Printing from v9 results in 9 pages. Pages 741, 754, and 769 did not print from v9.

I'm having the same issues. Using the latest version 9.3.3. Is this a bug? I tired calling adobe but their CR sounds like 3rd country only. Anyone can shed a light on this issue?

Acrobat 9 only prints page 1

I have recently upgraded to Acrobat 9 and now my documents are only printing page one of a multiple page document. Does anyone have any ideas of how to fix this problem? Acrobat is running from the Windows XP platform.

I am also having the same issue. It only seems to occur with a specific printer. I am currently having an issue with a Dell 5300 printer using a Post Script Driver. I can print to any other printer in the network just fine.

Margin settings not holding on printed page and are jagged

A few days ago, on occasion only, printer began issuing paper jam message when printed page was all but a probably 1/8" already out. Just touching paper really brought the page out the rest of the way.
I did pull out the two-sided paper accessory to look for any paper, but there is no paper jam that I can see.
Also, in the midst of printing sometimes it made a loud grinding (I guess) sound, but kept on printing and sent the page out completely.
Then I began to notice the left margin might slope inward as I look down the page or it may be different from one Word page to another and a little blurring occurs in a word here and there.
Finally, upon printing Excel pages I see a different left margin about what I consider to be every 2 lines. This, of course, affects the right margin in the same manor, and the vertical cell lines also vary according to the variance of the left margin.
The HP software tells me there are no updates for me to download. However, I don't know that it has ever mentioned any. I haven't seen this precise issue listed.

Yay! Smooth margins! At first I mistakenly thought (without looking) the cord would not reach an outlet; so I downloaded the HP Scan and Print Doctor. It told me there was a newer driver. I admit I eventually found myself at a point where it wanted me to "install" as if the printer was being newly associated with my computer. I paused and thought because I hadn't expected a new driver to want me to do a complete re-install. I decided I should just try printing again, and magically it gave me perfect alignment. So I stopped right there. I had used the recommended assisted download. Perhaps I should have switched to the plain download. While I'm not sure exactly what happened, it appears to be nicely fixed.

Printed page could not be ended

Hi all
A client just had this issue
She just created a AR invoice and it gave me a message u2026u2026. Printed page could not be ended.
She went back to see if it was added and now there are 2 invoice nou2019s are 502780 and 502781?
and its exactly the same..the customer, items, total,s etc.
It seems very strange.
I didn't see anything on the forums thats exactly like that

I am helping Jerusha at this client, maybe I can give some extra info which may help.
The add-on in question does not affect the sales invoice in any way, so I doubt it is that.
It is set to automatic printing for A/R Invoices in the Print Preferences, could it be something to do with that?
