Printing large JPEG onto many pieces of 8.5x11 paper?

I have a jpeg image that is 8.5 inches wide and 30 inches tall.
How can I get it to print full side using several pieces of paper?
Every time I print it only prints the top 11 inches.

  • How to print large jpeg image on multiple sheets of paper?

     I have aa Photosmart 8250 and I need to print a large jpeg photo of a wiring harness onto multiple sheets of letter size paper for clarity sake. I need the large image printed os say 8 sheets of paper in landscape mode so when you combine the sheets you have a large and accurate image. Can this be done under windows 7 64 bit? I seem to recall under XP with the HP software that you could do this, I need to do this now, under windows 7 64 bit if possible. Thanks in advance.

    You can use an alternate driver with the features you want.  Download the Officejet 8500 driver from HP here.  When the installer prompts you to connect the printer select the checkbox for unable to select the device.  After the driver has been installed click Start, Devices and Printers, right click on your Photosmart 8250 and select Printer Properties, Ports and find which port the 8250 is using.  Note this for later.  Next cancel this and click Add a Printer.  Select the same port as you found previously for the Photosmart 8250, Next, then choose HP and the HP Officejet Pro 8500.  Print a test page when you are done to verify the printer is working properly with the new driver.  You can then print to this instance of printer and select Poster Printing in the main page from 2x2 sheets up to 5x5 sheets.

  • How to print a 4.25x5.5 Booklet using 8.5X11 paper

    I would like to be able to print a booklet, each page size 4.25x5.5 (of a quarter of a 8.5x11 sheet of paper).  There should be 8 pages per page (i.e double sided printing) and the pages should be organized so that the sheets can be folded resulting in a booklet that can be stapled in the middle, on the seam.  I could not get ID to do this; the closest I got was 4 pages per sheets meaning half of the sheet was blank.  Any suggestions.

    How were you setting up the print? I would think that Using Print Booklet and setting it to 4-up perfect bound would do what you want, but you would need to set the signature size to the number of pages in the booklet.
    You can also create a new file 4.25 x 11 or 5.5 x 8.5 depending on the orientation, then use Scott Zanelli's script (InDesignSecrets » Blog Archive » Zanelli Releases MultiPageImporter for Importing both PDF and INDD Files) to place the pages from the original file twice so you have two copies of the booklet stacked together. Then run Print Booklet with 2-up Saddle Stitch and cut them apart.

  • Printing larger rows in blank report

    I have a training log that managers can print out when holding training. There is a pre-populated one that fills out spots for current employees and adds blanks at the end and one that is completely blank. On the pre-populated one, I can alter the size of the text and corresponding lines just fine by altering the style of the text. The same technique does not work for the blank report. The managers want to have more room on the blank log, as the default size isn't large enough for many people to fill out.
    Here's the query I'm using:
    WORKS
    select EMP_ID, EMP_LNAME, EMP_FNAME, NULL as DT, NULL as SIGNATURE
      from EMPLOYEES
    where ORG_ID = :P1727_ORG_ID
       and ACTIVE = 1
    union all
    select NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL
    from dual
    connect by rownum <= :P1727_BLANKSDOESN'T WORK
    select NULL as EMP_ID, NULL as EMP_LNAME, NULL as EMP_FNAME
         , NULL as DT, NULL as SIGNATURE
    from dual
    connect by rownum <= :P1727_BLANKSand the stylesheet:
    <style>
    #EMP_ID      {width: 60px;
            font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size:1em;}
    #EMP_LNAME   {width:120px}
    #EMP_FNAME   {width: 80px}
    #DT          {width:120px}
    #SIGNATURE   {width:320px}
    </style>I have tried selecting a no-breaking space for a column value instead of a null and no change. I even tried renaming all the columns and creating a new set of styles for the second report - no change. I can't find a table attribute that allows me to statically set the height of the row - it seems to be based on content. Any suggestions?

    Use a print media style sheet and specify the dimensions using a physical unit.
    Give the blank form report a static region ID for use in CSS selectors (e.g. <tt>blank-form</tt>), and a style sheet like:
    <style type="text/css" media="print">
      .report-table is class from report template
    #blank-form .report-table tr {
      min-height: 1cm;
      height: 1cm; /* for IE quirks mode */
    #blank-form #EMP_ID {
      width: 2cm;
    #blank-form #EMP_FNAME,
    #blank-form #EMP_LNAME {
      width: 5cm;
    #blank-form #DT {
      width: 3cm;
    #blank-form #SIGNATURE {
      width: 7cm;
    </style>Also use non-breaking spaces as previously suggested.

  • Epson Stylus Photo R2400 won't print large pages?

    I recently upgraded to Mac OS X Leopard. I immediately had problems with printing to my Epson Stylus Photo R2400 as a print driver gutenprint had suddenly replace my Epson driver when going thu dialog to print. Called and Epson and they got me thru process of getting rid of the newly replaced gutenprint to an Epson driver. Problem is I can't print anything larger than an 8.5x11 page. The printer set up says and shows me that what I have set as an 11x17 or 13x19 is going to print. But all that prints on this large expensive paper is an area 8.5x8.5. No matter what I change in set up. Epson says they have done all they can do. (And I just found out last week they have replaced this printer with another printer). I have hundreds of dollars in newly purchased inks and I am wasting expensive paper.
    Also I had to remove the patch for OS leopard to get the printer to work in this diminished capacity.
    And my email signature disappeared. Can't get that back either.
    But printer is my biggest problem. Any suggestions how to get this printer to work with this new OS leopard and print large sizes? I have deadlines and hate to outsource the printing when I could easily do it in house.

    Well, you picked the very hardest way to do it, and as time goes on, you will probably discover many other things wrong with your system as well. You CANNOT go back to Tiger from Leopard via an archive and install; you have to wipe the drive and start over from scratch, and then transfer all your data over from a backup and reinstall most, if not all, of your applications so the right elements are in the right places. Even so you'll never get your system exactly back to where it was, unless you had a perfect bootable Tiger backup (via SuperDuper) and merely restored from that. Obviously whatever Leopard element that killed your printing capability is still on your frankenstein system of BOTH Tiger and Leopard parts.
    There are hundreds of posts on the issue of reverting to Tiger from Leopard, many quite detailed. So many things are changed from upgrading from one to the other that what you attempted (unless you completely wiped the drive and all your data) has always proven disastrous, which is why I highly recommended against it after reading hundreds of horror stories here.
    I suggest doing a search at downgrading from Leopard to Tiger, following those instructions if you can, and making the best of it. You'll find that springing the $200 for an external drive would have been a much better and easier solution, because it can come in very handy if you ever need to do any maintenance on your internal hard drive, or if some update or problems kill your internal drive and you can't even boot the system. Not to mention sooner or later always needing more storage capability, and even a drive for reliable backups.
    I would never dream of attempting a downgrade or needing to do it in the first place (having taken precautions as to never have to), so I can't give you any further advice than that.

  • How to print large image across several pages?

    After using Appleworks for years I finally got Pages 09. In AW I used to be able to use drawing app to print large (36 x 36) images over several pieces of paper, simply by adding pages to the document. I would then tape the pages together to form the large poster. I can't see anyway to do this in Pages. It won't let you print any larger than 11x17, nor let you add pages to a layout to print a large image. Anybody know how to do this, or did I just waste my money?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions
    Yvan Koenig discovered with iWork '08 that you can span images across pages in a Numbers document as a substitute. Select & delete any tables & then treat the Numbers document as a draw document. You shouldn't need to add pages like in AppleWorks as Numbers adds them as needed to display all of the content.

  • How to export large .jpeg in indesign

    I'm trying to export a large jpg file from indesign for a commercial printer (Large format bill board Advertising poster). Getting message indicating that the file is too large and to try using a lower resolution - but this does not deliver required quality. Have tried exporting as PDF then saving in PS as tiff - but again quality not good.

    Hi Mike!!!
    3000mm x 5000mm high ad board. I¹m not dealing with the printer at all which
    is frustrating, this is all through the client. They said no smaller than
    50dpi, saved as jpeg or tiff. I managed to send them 100dpi but to me they
    look rubbish. Since my early morning panic all seems to be well. Client
    happy, which I didn¹t expect, so fingers crossed I have seen the last of
    that job!
    Sorry after so long I contact you for advice and not just a Œhey¹!
    Maybe catch up one day

  • Tips for importing large JPEGs into PE

    The short version of my question is that I am looking for the most efficient way to import a large number of very large JPEG still photos (with various pixel dimensions) into a Premiere Elements project with the best resulting image quality possible.  I have been frustrated so far with the resulting image quality.
    Here’s some more detail.  I am brand new to PE.  I’m using PE 11 on Windows Vista.  I had been putting up with Windows Movie Maker for many years, but finally threw in the towel due to its ungraceful handling of AVCHD video.  I want to combine still photos with my home movie video in my projects and create DVDs for playback on an NTSC widescreen HDTV.
    My JPEG still photos come from several different cameras, and I do a lot of cropping.  So the pixel dimensions vary quite a bit.  The uncropped pixel size from my DSLR is 4000x6000, so they are too big to import into PE.  I read that a good approach was to create a slide show in Organizer and import this into PE.  I used Organizer to create a WMV video slideshow with the highest quality settings.  The WMV video doesn’t look too bad when I play it back on my PC.  But I notice a significant degradation in image quality when I preview the WMV file in PE (compared to playing the file on my PC).  The resulting quality of a published DVD is even worse (played on either TV/DVD or PC).  PE selected HD 1080i, 1920x1080 for my project.
    I know PE is not designed for still photo slideshows.  I’m not expecting the same quality as the original JPEGs, but I think I can do better than what I am seeing so far.  Any suggestions, tips, or links to reference articles would be greatly appreciated.  I’ve also read about resizing the stills in Photoshop (I have Elements 11) and then importing into PE.  I haven’t tried this yet, but this sounds like a lot of work (even with batch processing) due to all the different pixel dimensions I have with my photos.

    A few weeks ago this same subect was being discussed.  Taking Bill Hunt's and other's advice, I spent the larger part of a day trying it out.  As near as I can tell, I followed Bill's advice carefully.  I put together a demo video and posted it on Vimeo where viewers can download the original PrE11 output for examination.   As I recall it was a long thread and by the time I posted the video interest was dying.
    Here it is again:  https://vimeo.com/60952115
    It is only my personal experience, but resizing provided no advantage or disadvantage.
    As another test I made a short video of about a half dozen random RAW photos and posted to Vimeo.  I used no resizing and, to my eye, results are fine.   Watch or download here:  https://vimeo.com/60904593
    Maybe the Adobe engineers have quietly put something into Premier Elements to resize, or somehow process, photos.  I do know that when it was time to upgrade to ACR 7.2, and later 7.3, for Photoshop Elements, the automatic Adobe downloader/installer reported it updated ACR in Premier Elements.  ACR does not process videos.  It is for photos and is in PrE11.

  • Printing from APEX onto pre printed forms - not PDF

    Hi
    What is the best solution within APEX for printing. I am looking to print out data within an interactive report record onto a piece of pre printed stationary. So fields from the database will need to be positioned on certain positions on the print out
    How can this be achieved? I have seen examples generating a PDF but I do not want a PDF to be generated or stored when the page has been printed.

    Or Oracle Reports as a cheaper option, if your infrastructure is suitable.
    Done that for pre-printed forms before - pixel perfect, just not for APEX. But it's easy to call Oracle Reports from APEX.

  • HELP!  How do I export large jpegs in lightroom 5?

    I've always shot jpegs with my camera and edited them in Lightroom.  The last set up photos I took, I decided to shoot in RAW.  I uploaded them to Lightroom 5 and after editing them, exported them to my computer as jpeg files.  100% quality and didn't limit the file size.  They all saved to my computer around 4.5mb.  When I used to edit my large jpegs and export them, they would be around 7mb.  I'm so confused!  Why would these be smaller since the RAW files to begin with are larger?
    Is there something I'm missing?  Lets say I want to export all my RAW photos to my computer as jpegs, but want them to be 10mb in size?  Is this possible?

    nfulton wrote:
    Do you know why the RAW would save as a 4.0mb jpeg, but if I don't shoot raw and only jpeg (and edit the same in LR), it will save it up to 10 or sometimes larger?  Just curious why this would be.
    My advice remains to IGNORE (as in don't pay attention to) the file size of exported JPGs. Any attempt to understand and find meaning in JPG file sizes will drive you to frustration, and is an exercise in chasing your tail. There are too many factors that you cannot control and cannot quantify that go into determining JPG file sizes.
    And if that is the case (you don't get more pixels), then why bother shooting RAW?
    Because each pixel of a RAW photo contains more information (up to 16 bits ... but most cameras use 12 or 14 bits) than the corresponding pixel of a JPG (8 bits only). With more information in the RAW photo, you can produce more pleasing photos when you edit them.

  • Can't print large documents.

    For years, we've been printing large documents to our plotter without issue.  Suddenly last week, nothing large will print.
    I've seen a few different error messages, and have tried different computers, and different versions of Illustrator, but nothing large will print.
    When trying to print, I currently get the following:
    I've also seen an error suggesting not enough memory is available, which is bogus.  And I think another error that was more vague, something to the effect of "can't print"
    I've setup a clean install of illustrator on a clean windows install, same issue.
    I setup an alternate print server with our rip software, same software we've been using for years.  Same error on the alternate server.
    Nothing changed, and it's effecting everything here, and new installs.  I don't know what happened, but this is getting critical, we need the ability to print.

    EFI eXpress v. 4.1
    This all worked fine until a week ago, so I don't think there should be a hardware software compatibility issue.  The software and hardware were all working fine, and then we got blindsided by this stubborn error that came out of nowhere, won't go away, and has no error or log that gives us any useful information.
    It isn't a font issue.  I've created a basic test document that just consists of the word test.  Using this same font, I've had success printing documents that are 37"x79", 39"x75".  But, when I print 39"x79", it fails.  i've not zeroed in on the size that seems to be the cutoff, but I knew that a 37x75 worked, and 40x80 didn't, and 39x79 didn't either.  So, playing around with the numbers I found the above that did work.
    Also, using the general epson driver that you can get on epson's site, any print job can be sent without issue.  It's just that anything beyond 90 inches gets cut off.
    I suppose this suggests the problem lies with EFI.  But, a clean install of EFI didn't resolve the issue.  What it comes down to for me is, the error is generated from Adobe.  So, at the least, I'd like an explanation from Adobe as to what the error is, since their software is generating it, and giving me no reason why it failed.  Plus, there's no way I can justify to management the cost of bringing in a 3rd party support for the EFI software, unless I have a better reason why the EFI software worked last week, but not this week, so I really need better data out of Adobe as to why it fails.
    I currently have a paid case open with Adobe, but they seem to be having difficulty as well, so far it's been a lot of time on hold, and a little bit of "try this, try that, try this", which is getting nowhere.  I need something more methodical to happen, and some actual following of data, or checking of logs, to get some detailed information, hopefully the case will get escalated to someone with a bit more in depth knowledge on these things.
    I will keep posting the details here as they emerge, because there's nothing I hate more than a forum thread with a problem I'm experiencing, that doesn't end with an answer.  I think forums should do a better job of either posting a resolution, or purging the cases that don't resolve, to get rid of the useless junk that clogs the internet and wastes people's time searching for answers.
