<!-- Path to PDF userconfig.xml file. -->

  • When I print large PDF's of 10+ pages I get multiple duplicate pages.

When I print large PDF's of 10+ pages the print order goes in the following sequence.
Page 1, Page 1-2, Page 1-2-3, Page 1-2-3-4, Page 1-2-3-4-5 .... and continues in that fassion until the printer is out of paper.
When a smaller document prints it comes out fine like page 1-9 in sequesnce as it should.  I am using Windows XP Pro SP3 fully patched and Adobe Reader X 10.1.3.  This is very strange as there is only one machine in the office that is doing it and I have tried instalingin and reinstalling the printers and the Adobe readr in order to fix this and there isn't really anything that I can find that might be causing the issue.

  • Can't print to pdf since I installed Snow Leopard.

I make newspaper ads all the time in Illustrator CS4 on a Mac.
I always print them to pdf files. Never had any trouble doing this.
However, since I installed Snow Leopard I can not print to pdfs.
I go through the usual motions and then... just nothing happens.
Are there known issues with AI CS4 and Snow Leopard?

I was having the same problem. Basically, you now have to "save as" then "to PDF" to get the same results. Although this new method give you more choices in terms of output, i.e. saving layers, image resolution, it has also produced larger PDF files. I will then have to open the document in Acrobat and "reduce file size". I do wish they would bring back the print to PDF option. Go to the link below to read more. If you figure out how to produce the same results and get the small files sizes back please share.

  • Print a PDF report having a field(column table) with a HTML code

    hello every one,
I have a table where a column(varchar2) have HTML code inside it.
Because all my reports are in PDF format, how can I print this column, when I print in PDF I see all HTML tag and it isn't formatted.
Have Anyone same problem, could I convert in PDf before I print it?
    Thanks in advance for help

You need to set "Contains HTML tags" to YES, so that the HTML code is formated in the report.
It is a property of the field.

  • No "convert to pdf " and no " print to pdf " option after install

I installed adobe acrobat reader professional 8 at home ( WIN 7 ) and everything works great there, but after installing it at work ( WIN 7 ) i have no option when i right click a file in the drop down menu that says " convert to adobe pdf ", and also in word i have no option to " Print to  PDF " in the printer menu.
Thoses options are on my home PC but not work PC ? the only thing i can think of is a USER RESTRICTION that is in place that does not give my user account the option to use thoses two options ?
Im I wrong  ? and if so how can i get thoses options at work like i have at home ?
    TY for any help giving

First, you either have Adobe Acrobat Pro 8 Or Adobe Reader 8. Acrobat Reader Professional 8 does not exist.
If you have Acrobat, we'll try and work this out. If you have Reader, you don't get either of those items since it's made for viewing/printing PDF's.
My suggestion is to open the application you installed then go to the Help dropdown and see whether it says Acrobat or Reader. Also, be sure you don't have both products installed since that could cause similar issues as this.

  • Printing to PDF broken after installing a font manager

I'm currently trying to figure out why after installing Extensis suitcase printing to PDF is broken.  I have tried the following fixes that I have seen so far
I have gone into distiller and removed the other font locations in there and just supllied windows\fonts
I have gone into control panel regional and language optionss and checked the install files for complex script
I have gone into pdf printing options and unchecked the rely on system fonts only
I have also gone through and removed and readded the windows font files. However if the adobe fonts are removed it makes the distiller window huge and can't be restore even with removing and reinstalling acrobat.
Using the above I have gotten two pc's to work but the third continues to give me the following error.
%%[ Error: invalidfont; OffendingCommand: findfont ]%%
    Stack:
    /Font
    /Courier
    /courier
%%[ Flushing: rest of job (to end-of-file) will be ignored ]%%
%%[ Warning: PostScript error. No PDF file produced. ] %%
Currently the system is using acrobat 9 pro and extensis suitcase 3.  I'm not sure where to go from here, I have tried to find any related posts but I have seen anything that I haven't already tried.  Let me know if anyone has any ideas or needs more info.
    Thank you

I am not very good at reading the Distiller error message. However, it is saying a font can not be found. Temporarily, go into the job settings file and select warn and continue or ignore for the embedding fonts warning. The default typically is set to fail. After you get a PDF, check to see which font is giving you problems. The fonts have to be included in Distiller or you will get this error and failure of you do not have one of the first two options selected. Don't know if that will help, but it is something to look at.

  • How do I print large PDFs from Adobe on Linux?

Hello. I am writing this request with an issue involving Adobe Reader.
I am having difficulty getting large PDF files to print from some standalone kiosk machines. The machines run off of a Linux OS, and a delay occurs each time a large PDF file is sent to the printer. I believe this issue may involve the actual machine units (which each have a CPU speed of about 1.33 GHz), but would like to determine if there are any alternate issues or solutions that anyone may know of.
Thank you in advance for your assistance.

  • Crystal Reports with Java in Unix Environment

We have Crystal Enterprise Professional Edition and Embedded Edition v10 with us.We want to use them for generating reports in our development project.
We have to generate reports as batch jobs ( scheduled jobs) for which we will have a Java Application running in Z/OS (Unix zSeries). This Java Application will connect to our database(DB2) and retrieve data which should be filled in the report design(template).
1.Can the .rpt file have the design alone(without the data from database).?
2.Can we fill the data from the database using the .rpt file in a Java Application using an API ?
3.Can we export this file(report with data) to a text file with a specific character encoding.?
All the above has to be done using a Java Application that will run in a Z/OS(Unix Environment).
4.Is Java API for the above operations available as a .jar file that can be included in our classpath in UNIX Environment ?
I request you all to help me with these queries as soon as possible.
    Million Thanks in Advance.

    Hi,
It seems that you are having issue with Crystal reports Java SDK's.
Post your question in Java Development - Crystal Reports forum.
That forum is monitored by qualified technicians and you will get a faster response there. Also, all Java Development queries remain in one place and thus can be easily searched in one place.
    Thank you for your understanding

  • AR 8.1.2 does not print larger pdf's to smaller paper correctly

I am using Reader 8.1.2 on Solaris 10 (sparc) and attempting to print via
the print GUI a D (34x22) size print to a B (17x11) size sheet. Reader
8.1.2 does not shrink enough and the resultant print is missing entities
that are close (within approximately .4") to the edge. The preview as
show in the printing GUI appears okay.
Acrobat Reader 7.0.8 works fine for this case.
For an example D size print with some more documentation see:

    For my printing settings see:

    Randy,
Cups does not change the PS file that is created. However acroread creates a different PS when printing to a particular printer as opposed to using "Custom".
The CUPS api are used to get the list of printers available on a particular system (and the cups daemon needs to be running for that to work). The reason Rishi asked you to try selecting a printer instead of choosing "Custom" is because when a printer is specified the PostScript generated in that case is PPD dependent, taking care of the margins of the printer that it is being printer to. That does not happen when printing using the "custom" option, which is why the way content close to the margins would be handled would differ from printer to printer.
Therefore you should be able to get better results if you ask acroread to create a PS that would be sent to a particular printer (by selecting a printer name from the drop down). However, since as you mentioned you dont have Cups installed acroread wouldn't be able to list the printers for you.
You could consider installing cups on your system. If, however that is not an option for you, you would still be able to use the reader, but printing files with content very close to the margins would be an issue.
    Sincerely,
    Neha

    Hi Raja,
I presume you have gone through the debugging process of testing your template locally first to get the expected result.....
If yes, this note might probably be helpful "Changing Output Format to RTF or Excel in XML Publisher Request Does Not Display Output Correctly (Doc ID 404512.1)"

  • How To View Large PDF Reports Output?

    Hi all,
    EBS 11i
We run a request with date from 01-JAN-11 to 31-JAN-11 in transaction register .
    The request status is Completed.
Upon clicking the ‘View Output’ to export the file in PDF format, we encountered error. It seems the file is corrupted? or just to big to open?
Already tried increasing the Cache memory of Firefox to be able to view some requests but cannot view if the file is more than some size.
I also tried saving the report to PDF file (viewing it on Adobe Reader not on Firefox), same result.
Are there other application other than Adobe Acrobat Reader to view PDF file formats?
How can I resolve this issue please.
    Thanks

How do I download the pdf file? Do I need to login to the linux server applmgr id? Or it is available via apps webpage. From the server as applmgr user, under $APPLCSF/$APPLOUT directory -- o<request id>.out format.
Have you reviewed the docs referenced above?
    Thanks,

  • How to Print Large PDF on multiple sheets

I want to print a file 41" x 55" on multiple sheets of paper, how do i accomplish this? I have tried and i only get one page with only one small section of my painting/drawing. Need help!

Can your printer driver tile pages?
I can suggest that you place divide (slice) the file and place each component on a page in a page layout document (InDesign, XPress).

  • Printing Large PDF's, only the 1st page prints

    bdud
I believe there are other options out there for around that price but there's none I can personally recommend. Plus, if you DO find something that looks right, you'll want to check to see if tiling is available.
Keep in mind that Reader is made more for document sharing than it is for things like oversize prints. That's why they've probably never bothered to add tiling.
    Good luck.

  • Split large pdf report output

Hi, I'm writing a report that produces approximately 15000 pages of output. When running the report on the server, it fails with the error "Memory failure - core dumped". I believe that it is due to the size of the output (~20mb).
Is there a way to split the report output based on the number of records? I've investigated distribution (both in the report builder and using the 9i .xml distribution) and can't seem to find an adequate solution.
Any comments/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Ta.
    Nick.

    Hi Nick,
What is the problem you see with distribution? I think it can be a valid solution. The only difference is that distribution cuts the report output based on a logical grouping (eg, different departments), while you want the report to be cut based on file size or number of records.
If you don't have alogical grouping, is it not possible for you to define a "dummy" grouping, eg, employee numbers 10,000 to 20,000 = group 1
    employee numbers 20,000 to 30,000 = group 2
    and so on?
