Hello All,
Question regarding printing ones library.
Currently when I print my library it prints by song listing and thats okay, however what Id like to do is print a listing of my library by song broken down by genres.
I have the option of making a playlist from the genre and then printing a listing from the playlist, but it seems there should be a simpler way. After all a person could have many genres and making a playlist of each one could become time consuming.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Perhaps Im missing something perhaps not.

Sounds like you found the easiest way to me. Make the playlist and print the contents of that.
Or make a playlist of all your songs, sort it by genre, and then print that. I don't know how the sort order works there.
If you can't find a way you like in iTunes, then make a playlist of all the songs and export the playlist to a TXT file. Then rename the text file to be whatever.CSV. The CSV file you can load up in any spreadsheet program (Excel, OpenOffice, etc), and from there you should be able to sort, reformat, print, whatever, using all the spreadsheet programs functionality.

Can't print to Epson TM-U590 Slip Printer from Report Generation Toolkit with LabVIEW 8.6.1

Hi all,
I have an application that uses the Report Generation Toolkit to print tickets to a docket printer. Usually this works fine - I have 8 existing installations where there are no problems
I'm currently installing the software at a new site that uses an Epson TM-U590 slip printer and I can't for the life of me get printing to work
Using a Standard Report, the Print Report.vi returns error -41002 which indicates it can't find the printer. I've opened up the VI using remote debugging and it does find the printer name correctly with the Query Available Printers.vi. It gets an error code -2147352567 from the Printout node, which then gets replaced with the -41002 error which is reported.
For historical reasons I'm still using LabVIEW 8.6.1 for this project. I'm considering moving to 2011 or 2012 but I've had reliability issues with other parts of the application after attempting to update to a newer LabVIEW version so I'd like to avoid that at this stage.
The application is running on a standard desktop PC with Windows 7. The slip printer works fine if I print to it from Notepad, and my application is happy to print to any other printer, just not the slip printer.
The slip printer is using the LPT port. Previously the docket printers I've used have been USB but I would expect the printer driver to hide this detail from the application...
Any ideas would be much appreciated

I'm now having the same issue with a Star docket printer (a TUP592), this time with another program developed in LabVIEW 2011.
As mentioned in the article, the problem is actually to do with the margin settings rather than the printer name, despite what the error message says
After some experimentation, I've gotten the Star printer to work by setting a large (>14cm) right margin. No idea why this is required as it seems to print right up to the right edge of the paper quite happily, but there you go.
So I haven't defintely fixed the original problem yet as I haven't gotten back to the site, but hopefully this will be of some help to someone else.

Print in report generation

Dear all,
I am using Report Generation Toolkit to create a report of my project.
I am using "Word" type Report and want the VI to print it after creating the report.
However i dont want it to open the MS Word and just want it to print it right away.
I am using alot of VIs specific to MS Word.
Is there any way i can print the report without opeing MS Word??

Hi Ritesh,
I don't think you can use the 'Word' type report VI's without opening Word itself, but what you certainly can do is to open Word and have it either minimised or hidden so the operator doesn't see the window. Then you can get your VI to automatically print the report and close Word down once the operation is completed.

Printing Library

Presently, I can get Itunes for Windows to print the album library only two ways:
1 - By album title and artist.
2 - By album title, artist and track list.
Question - Is there a way to print the library by artist then album title?
I.E. It would be so much easier to look up an artist's name and see what albums by that artist are owned ( I have 486).

In the Print command, choose Album Listing and then set the dropdown to "List of Albums." This prints the albums sorted by artist, which sounds like what you want.

Disk printing library

IN disk printing, photo library is missing in my C5580. I recently installed drivers for windows 7. HOw do I get the ibrary folder back.

Printing library or playlists

Each time I try to print my library or certain playlists, I-Tunes completely quits and I'm reverted back to the Win Desktop. Any ideas? I have 500Mb of ram. There are ~ 3700 songs in my library.

Open iTunes, go to File>Print and choose either Song Listing or Album listing, whichever suits your requirements best. You can also use the Theme drop down menu to include different options.

Manipulation of Print form after generation

I am using Adobe Forms as print forms within the SAP ERP 5.0 without WebDynpro.
I have requirement that I need to manipulate the generated PDF file by adding additional attachment files to the PDF generated by the function module. Technically this seems to be possible by combining the different APIs as follows:
1. Setting the output parameter GETPDF to 'X' while calling FP_JOB_OPEN and
2. Getting the binary file from the /1BCDWB/FORMOUTPUT object
3. Then setting the binary to the IF_FP_PDF_OBJECT object via the SET_DOCUMENT method
4. Adding the additional attachments via SET_ATTACHMENTS method.
Is there smarter way to do this so that the attachment could be already added via the function modules?
Is there any linkage between the function modules FP_* used for print forms and the classes IF_FP_PDF_OBJECT that provide the ADS services?

It seems that SAP has not even implemented the method IF_FP_PDF_OBJECT~SET_ATTACHMENTS in WebAS 6.40. It simply throws exception without doing anything.
So it seems that the whole scenario is not even possible in NetWeaver 2004/Basis 6.40.
On the question on why:
In our scenario we need to attach additional PDF files (generated in external systems or scanned paper documents) to the print form produced by SAP. It seemed that the PDF attachments would provide solution for combining these external files with the form.
The other alternative solution, that I have considered, is to "embed" the external documents to the form using the Image Field element in the layout. This is not really an option, because Image Field supports only BMP, JPEG, GIF, PNG and TIFF - NOT PDF. Secondly, it's really designed for embedding fixed-size images to the form. In our case the scanned document can be 10 pages long.

Print Library - resolution dropped

Once upon a time the resolution of album art when using Print > Album listing was quite good. I don't print a paper copy, that would be wasteful, but sending it to a PDF distiller would result in a very nice looking file with clean, sharp album art.
With some latest version of iTunes (couldn't say exactly when this changed), printing an Album listing looks wretched. The text and iTunes-supplied graphics are fine, but the album art looks horrible. I have even tried printing one page direct from iTunes to an Epson R1800, looks as bad as the PDF output. Tweaked all my PDF settings (Press Quality with Optimize For Fast Web View turned off), no change.
So at some point iTunes started sending rotten resolution to the printer.
All my album art (with a couple of exceptions) looks fantastic in iTunes. I can scale Cover Flow quite large and they still look pretty good (and yes, I understand the difference between screen and print resolution). Most of the album art I found myself via image search or other websites - I try to stay around 600x600 dpi. So a 1.5" square tile on an Album listing printout should look fantastic.
What happened? I have old PDFs of old libraries that look great. Are those days over? Paperless society or not, I'd still like to be able to get a nice-looking PDF.

What format are these reports? If you are suing JDK 6, check out the java.awt.Desktop class. It uses your OS's supported functions to do options such as print, browse, mail, open, edit, etc.

GLM supports Automatic Label Print requests & Automatic Label Printing(immediately after generation of automatic print requests). But this is limited to Delivery order, Process Order & Handling Unit as standard. For other scenarios, you will have to customize.

System Slow-Down After Printing

I recently installed Mountain Lion. Over the last couple of weeks I have noticed a significant operating system (10.8.2) slow down after printing with my Epson R3000 printer. This happens after every printing session. When I say slow-down I mean significant delays and dreading "beachballs" when opening applications, selecting menu items or anything else I should choose to do. I'm left with re-starting the computer to get going normally again.After re-atarting I have gone to "verify permissions" and I get approx "5" pages of permission errors, all associated with the printer library in some fashion or another. I then repair all those permissions and re-start my MacPro. The operating system then works as normal and I can use the computer with no problems (until I start printing again). I mainly use the computer for photo editing with Adobe Photoshop CS6, Adobe Lightroom 4 and Aperture 3.2.
I did not have this problem before upgrading to Mountain Lion (and then to 10.8.2). I did not get "significant" permission errors before upgrading. Since all printer drivers for this printer are handled now by Apple via the "new" Software Update process I can't even re-download the Epson printer driver and start over. I'm completely at a loss as to what, associated with the printer function, is causing these "significant" permission errors and subsequent operating system slow down. My printer is almost brand new and was working flawlessly before Mountain Lion. Let me be clear though, I can print fine. My problem is the system slow down after using the print function which I am only guessing has something to do with the "5" pages of permission errors after printting photos (with CS6/Lightroom/Aperture).
Incidently, I am not in any way a computer expert. Verifying and repairing permissions is about all I know how to do that's why I need help. I also just thought I would try the forums first before going to technical support to see what people thought about this.
Again, I repair the permission errors, re-start my system and all is fine. Any further suggestions would be deeply appreciated.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:

Where can I finf this ? I have 3 Cds with labview:Labview 7 express, national instruments device drivers and DIAdem.

Printing Date in Spanish language

I'm using Crystal Reports XI Professional. I'm printing the report generation date on top of the report. I want that date to be in Spanish. Does anyone know how to translate a date from English to another language? Is there any service pack/font download for this?

Problem with printing generated pdf.

I need to print pdf file, that was generated by my application. I am using Apache FOP to generate pdf (xml+xslt). For printing I am using Maxatec MT-150 receipt printer. Seems, that pdf is generated successfully, because I can open it and I also can print it using Windows interface. However, when I am sending it to printer in my JAVA application, printed file is just set of unreadable characters and black lines. I was trying to use different DocFlavors, like DocFlavor.INPUT_STREAM.AUTOSENSE, DocFlavor.URL.AUTOSENSE, but neither had a luck. My code looks like this:

I am sorry, but what error message are you talking about? The only error I get is "sun.print.PrintJobFlavorException: invalid flavor" and as far as I understand it depends on printer, what is supported and what is not supported. Or am I wrong? I am using standard java.awt.print library.
@AndrewThompson64, thanks for the tip!)) It does print correctly, but in this case I am not sure I have enough possibilities to control printing. For instance, my pdf was printed as landscape, but I need portrait.

Acrobat Pro 8.0 CS3 - PDF file print in Mac OS 10.5.8 fixed!

Since upgrade from version 7.0, Acrobat Pro PDF 8.0 printer kept pausing and wouldn't print document.
I previously had same trouble with the Acrobat PDF 7.0 printer, but eventually got that to work with a command entered via terminal mode:
Adobe PDF print (OS 10.5.6) work-around using UNIX command entered via the Terminal;
In Terminal type the following if you are using Acrobat 7.x:
sudo chmod 4755 /usr/libexec/cups/backend/pdf700
Plan A for today: Tried same thing for v. 8.0;
In Terminal type the following if you are using Acrobat 8.x:
sudo chmod 4755 /usr/libexec/cups/backend/pdf800
This didn't work, so went to Plan B;
The other suggested approach is to remove various PDF printer library files and then follow with the Adobe "repair" function.
Remove following files and then "Repair" from Adobe menu;
/Library/Printers/PPD Plugins/AdobePDFPDE800.plugin
/Library/Printers/PPDs/Contents/Resources/en.lproj/ADPDF8.ppd
~/Library/Printers/Adobe PDF 8.0.app
/private/etc/cups/ppd/AdobePDF8.ppd
/usr/libexec/cups/backend/pdf800
This didn't work before, so went to Plan C;
I looked through all discussion threads again, a few mentioned installing latest update to Acrobat Pro 8 ... I had already done that, or so I thought ... I went again to update menu command within Acrobat, and it plainly reported that "Adobe doesn't have any updates at this time" just as it had before.
I then compared my installed rev. version vs. the latest updates available for manual download, and found I was several behind.
I then manually installed each one in sequence and towards the end of the process, Acrobat opened a pop-up window telling me there were updates available, and asked if I wanted to install them. Go figure, one of the manual updates fixed the menu updater not working correctly. Not sure which one, but I eventually landed at version 8.3.1. I repeated "Plan B", and now the PDF printer is working again.
I guess with trial & error, even a blind squirrel will find a nut ...

ABAP List Output Printing Error

Hi All,
I am facing a problem while printing the ABAP List Output. First Page is printing fine and from the second page its not printing. Where as in Standard reports everything is printing OK.

For list printing: Add to affected reports with NEW-PAGE PRINT ON LAYOUT/ SUBMIT... TO SAP-SPOOL LAYOUT (print at list generation). For printing from list display, adjust REPORT width specification to force selection of the format and move format to SAP namespace (name "X....").
