Printing Light Table

My first attempt to print a four image Light Table was very frustrating. In spite of my repeated efforts to tweak the images, and in spite of the set looking fine in the preview, the print out was clipped.
Thanks
Mike

Per,
First off, before describing my Light Table woes, let me say that my wife and I lived in Arhus in 1968-1969. While I love photography, my "day job" here in Los Angeles is as a dentist; and I did research in the Tandlægeskole.
Anyway, all I can say is that I selected four images--horizontal--all the same dimensions and arranged them on the Light Table having confirmed the set up in Preview.
I was using 8.5"X11" paper and the images are about 4.75" X 3.25"
Each time the right edges of the right-most images were clipped off by about 2.5cm. I finally gave up on Aperature after about 6 tries, and printed them out using Photoshop.
Thanks
Mike

  • Can't save light table as pdf

Having an issue where I have about 45 images (all jpgs) on a light table, and when I click on print light table, and either 'save as pdf' or open as 'PDF in preview', aperture constantly gets stuck on processing, without ever creating the PDF.
If i highlight just one image, it will create a pdf containing one image, but if I highlight all (or none) then Aperture just sticks in the processing stage, to the point where I have to Force Quit out of aperture.
I know the PDF's it creates are typically huge, but I even let it run for an hour + last nite, and it still did not create one.
Anyone else having a similar issue?
    current configuration:
    iMac 2.8ghz 4GB RAM NVidia GeForce 8800GS
500GB Hard drive, files in question are stored in the aperture library.

I have a faster system (3.06 GHz) and slightly better graphics card (GeForce 9400) and it was choking on the almost 1gig pdf file that was created from a 48 image Light Table. It did create the file though even though it looked like it wouldn't. When I got it open in preview, I reduced the file size to 2 mb using the quartz filter in the Save dialogue box.

  • Create and Save a Photo Colllage from Light Table

    Hi Everyone,
I want to create a montage of several photos that I can save as one .JPG or similar, then take and have printed as a large photo collage.
I have had limited success using Apertures Light Table feature, however cannot find a way to save the entire light table as a single image for printing.
Can anyone offer any advise on this, or perhaps suggest a different application that will do the job?
    Best Regards
    Darryn

If a PDF format works for you, then you can simply choose the light table, select FILE->PRINT LIGHT TABLE and in the window that pops up you can select SAVE AS PDF.
Then you can print that file...

  • Light table question

I would like to take a layout that I make on the Light Table and export that layout to use on a webpage. I see I can export the images to the web but I would like to keep the layout intack and not just sent the individual images. I would also like to make a background color.
dual core Mac OS X (10.4.9)

You can do it, but not very directly.
    1. Lay out your light-table.
    2. Go to print it, but save to PDF rather than printing.
    3. Import the PDF into Photoshop, choosing a suitable rsolution.
    4. You now have a layered file with all the images on one layer, and can now add a different colour background as needed.
    5. Export in some web-friendly format.

  • How to use a picture more than once in the light table?

when i drag a picture from my browser to the light table i get the number 1 in the thumbnail. the book suggests that we can drag more than once the same picture in the light table but i have not yet figured out how to do it? any ideas?

Indeed it do, I have that book, and you and I have both proven, beyond any doubt, the authors are incorrect.
I tried all weekend to build a light table display that would print on half of a piece of paper. I figured I'd just select all, duplicate or copy and paste and set up another display just like it. That way, I'd print one sheet, trim it in half and have two nice assemblies of the same images. Took me many hours of dicking around to arrive at my lame non-solution.
Hope someone else gives us both better advice.

  • *Light Table & Disappearing Images*

I created a light table, moved images in, cropped them, arranged them and printed. Everything worked as advertised except one of the images was rather stubborn about the correct crop size, had to reset a few times.
Came back the next day and all the images have the yellow triangle. A search for the images results in them not being found. They have disappeared from my drive.
I have been using Aperture since V1.1 and am continually managing referenced files.

You use the 'Aperture menu > Aperture Feedback' item to load the page.
You then select the type of feedback (in this case a 'Bug Report') from one of the drop-downs and type in your issue (I usually link to a thread when possible).
There are a number of technical drop-down lists for machine, OS, version, etc. and then submit.
Although I don't work for Apple, I know that typically; the reports are viewed by the software team and prioritized by quantity of received reports for the same and they usually try to reproduce the issue.
If they can reproduce the issue easily and consistently, it should go on the list for fixes in the next update (if possible).
Note - I agree that this may be isolated to just us, but I do not run anything modified (pretty much vanilla settings with all software) so I reported it to at least get it looked at.

  • Light Table: missing images on certain page sizes

I have a light table with about 20 images from a D200 on it.
I go to print it, and all the images show up if I select Letter size paper. If I change the paper size to 13x19, one of the images doesn't show up in the preview of the light table. I thought, "ah, it's just a display/preview anomaly" so I went ahead and printed it. Guess what? That one photo really did drop out.
Even odder, if I save to PDF, 6 images drop out!
Anyone else see this? I'm on Aperture 1.0.1.

    Good news. *crosses fingers*
So far I have not been able to reproduce this in Aperture 1.1.

  • Light Table: Can you maintain stacking order?

In a light table, is there any way to maintain the stacking order (i.e., which image remains on top of several images)?
It seems that when you move to another item (an album, a web page, etc.) and then go back to the light table, the stacking order is not the same as I last left it: some images appear underneath other images, even though I did not leave them that way before navigating out of the light table.
(And by "stacking order", I'm not talking about Aperture's Stacks; I'm just talking about the 3-D order of the images on the light table itself.)
    Power Mac G5, Dual 2GHz, 3.5GB ram, X800 XT   Mac OS X (10.4.5)   iBook G3 800 MHz, 640 MB, ComboDrive

    Good news and bad news.
With Aperture 1.1, the good news is that it now does remember which order they were stacked in, after navigating away from the light table and navigating back to it.
The bad news is now it absolutely won't print them in the order that I stack them in. It must somehow memorize their stacking order and will always try to print them in the same stacking order, regardless of how I re-select them to change the stacking order.

  • Light Table: Image Sizes?

Is there any way to specify the exact sizes of the images placed on a Light Table?
I have a multi-frame I want to print pics for, and a Light Table is a perfect way to print multiple images per page… but I can't seem to figure out how to make, say, one image 3x3 and another one 6x4.
    Make sense?
    Any ideas?

The only print option in aperture that allows to exactly control the size and position of images is the Book. In the layout options for the pages you can set the dimensions of the photo boxes and align them accurately. I sometimes use the photo book design to arrange photos for printing, i.e. if if I want to have captions as well. I start with a page design, that has only one photo box and addas many  additional boxes as I need. The only drawback is, that you have to pick the correct when printing - you will not want to print the covers of the book as well.

  • ADOBE: How to print a table only on uneven pages and a text on the back?

Hi, I am looking for a clear document on how to use pagination and the Odd and Even pages.
We need to print a table over several pages, but the table should only appear on Odd pages. The even pages should be skipped. On the even (back) pages we need to print "Terms and Conditions". Is that possible? Can it be done without scripting?
We are using ADOBE version 8.1
In the file properties, double sided is switched on, and version set to 8.1 and higher.
I created two Master pages, a FrontPage with ContentArea1and a BackPage with ContentArea2.
FrontPage is used for uneven pages, BackPage is used for the even pages. The masterpages are printed correctly (alternating properly).
One page was created for the table, totals etc.:
ITEMS: contains item data (table with header and footer). Place is "On Odd Page". After "Goto page BackPage", so there is always one page with the text. And if the table needs to be paginated it goes to BackPage with overflow leader "Conditions".
What should happen is that on the front pages the item table is printed. If there are too many lines then it should continue on page number 3 then 5 etc. All the even pages should display text only.
What actually happens is that the item table also gets printed in the content area for the Condition text...
The best I could achieve is to decrease the contenta area of the back page. To force pagination. But still it prints one table record in the (very small) content area of the back page before paginating to the next page (front page again). If it only would not do that, it would be fine.
    Cheers,
    Edwin.

Fixed it... After a lot of creating, deleting, playing around with pagination and the inevitable cursing...
    I have created 5 pages:
    1. FirstPage
         - Odd/Even: Odd (Front) Pages
         - Placement: First page (In page set)
    2. FrontPage (For Odd pages)
         - Odd/Even: Odd/Front Pages
         - Placement: Rest of Pages
    3. BackPage (For Even pages)
         - Odd/Even: Even (Back) Pages
         - Placement: Rest of Pages
    4. LastPage
         - Odd/Even: No Odd/Even Restrictions
         - Placement: Last page (In page set)
    5. DummyPage
         - Odd/Even: Blank pages
The 'Terms and conditions' are located on the BackPage and LastPage (as a text).
The table that is printed is (of course) located on a normal page (flowed subform).
Pagination tab: Placement = Following previous, and After = "Continue filling parent". No overflow... Basically, it's all default.
The table lines will now start on the first page and if there are more lines than can be printed on this page, it will continue in the next content area. That will be on the FrontPage.
The trick is that each master page must have a content area (mandatory). Except for Blank pages, but these cannot be used... Blank pages would only be used once, after the first page.
What I discovered is that you can drag a content area away from the Master page and attach it to a different master page.
Logically, if there is no content area on a page, then data cannot be printed there. So, I created a Dummypage. On this page I dumped the content areas from the LastPage and the BackPage. As a result, content cannot be printed anymore on the back of pages. Only the standard text (a text field) is printed there. When the data from the table is overflowing, it will automatically overflow from the FirstPage to the next content area. Which is located on the FrontPages only.
The DummyPage is NOT used anywhere.
The result is that the records can only be printed on the content areas that exist on the First and Front pages. The back pages are now skipped.
Duplex printing is now working correctly, and the text is printed on the back of all the pages.
    Cheers,
    Edwin.

  • How to print the table values in fastest way?

    Dear Friends,
I'm having table in my application and i need to print the table values. For that I used print() method to print the table values.
boolean complete = tableObj.print(mode, header, footer, showPrintDialog, null, interactive,
null); But, the time taken for displaying print dialouge box so late and printing operation is done very slowly.
Could anyone please tell me is there any better way and fastest way to print the table values?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
In the Module pool you will have fields. For those fields you have created the name also. Assign those name to work area and from there to internal table.
And for your requirement viceversa you need to done.

  • How to print a table in OA Framework using Jdeveloper?

I am using JDeveloper for OA Framework, in my page i want to print a table thorugh Print button.
Please give me some suggestion/methods to do this...

    Bhupendra,
In ur requirement, you would have to go with a dynamic table creation in process request.Attach submit action event to message check box, in the action event code redirect to same page.
In process request, you would have to recreate this table, with additional rows, as per your requirement.

    Hi Kelly,
As someone who has to print from my Mac to a networked printer at home all the time, I can certainly understand how frustrating it must be to have that fail to perform as expected. Let's see if we can get you up and running.
I would suggest that you troubleshoot using the steps in this article -

  • Problem with Light Table in Bridge CS6

Hi! After a re-install (which didn't fix the problem with PS), I now find that, when using the light table in Bridge CS6 and after hitting the space bar, if I then click on the image, it goes to 800% size! Prior to the uninstall & re-install, it worked perfectly in taking images to 100% size.
    Hope someone can help.......
    Thanks, Wardie

Why did you reinstall photoshop cs6?
What operating system are you using?
Did you reinstall all the updates for photoshop cs6 by going to Help>Updates from within photoshop cs6?
After you enter the light table, use your mouse scroll wheel to zoom back to 100% and exit the light table.
The next time you go to the light table and click on the picture it should only go to 100%.
