Printing Manuals produced in HTML

Many software and hardware products provide a user manual that is really a set of online web pages, intended for viewing online, with links, etc etc.
I wonder if there is any software that will traverse all the pages and links and produce a PDF file or some other format that would allow printing such a manual. I realize that the order of pages etc might be difficult to arrive at, but is there any shareware or software out there that does this?

Hello jchristn77,
The reason that the images embedded in web pages is that they are to low of a resolution to make it through the gateway server.  The minimum DPI that will print is 100, while most web images are 72 DPI.

    Hi,
I did not come across this situation before. Did you apply any fix packs. Try to check whether its a issue which can be fixed by applying fix pack( try to check release notes of fix pack and see if they mentioned any thing about this).
    Thanks,
    SK.

  • How do I print all the open tabs in Photoshop, without clicking on each and printing manually?

How do I print all the open tabs in Photoshop, without clicking on each and printing manually?

If the song are part of an album, the album should have a cloud icon for downloading it in full. If they are separate tracks (not in the same album) you will have to download individually.

  • Final Cut Studio Upgrade: Printed Manuals?

Does anyone know if there are printed manuals included for each of the applications in the upgrade version of Final Cut Studio 2? They couldn't tell me at my local Apple Store and didn't have a boxed upgrade version to examine.
Thanks for whatever info you can provide!

    Hi Gina,
If you buy FCPstudio2 (Full Package):
You get 4 printed manuals about FCP 6 and 1 about COLOR.
Manuals about Motion, Live Type, Compressor and so on are available from every software installed or upgraded when you go to HELP>USER MANUAL

  • Maybe a bit OT - all those old, think printed manuals

I just cleaned out a closet down in the edit suite and lo-and-behold I found old boxes of Final Cut discs and manuals dating all the way back to Final Cut Pro version 2.... and that includes DVD Studio Pro and Motion and Soundtrack when it was called Soundtrack, and printed pdf manuals for Livetype and Cinematools.. and stand along Cinematools box! And even the software Cinematools came from: Film Logic.. or maybe Slingshot. They are both in there, I can't reember which Apple turned into Cinematools. I think I'll fill up a garbage can.
What does everyone else do with those big boxes of thick printed manuals? Come to think of it maybe I should recycle them.

Being the pack rat I am, we have a whole storage room filled with obsolete software, manuals, boards, digitizer pads, plotters and so on. Occassionally I'll drag the most hapless equipment out and let the art students disassemble them for useful elements in their constructions. Recycling can be fun and artful.

    Hi Velcro,
Seeing as this is a forum community, we try to get to posts as soon as we can and I will try to help you out.
You've mentioned a few issues with the printer, so let's see if we can figure out what's wrong with it. Right now it could be either hardware or software, so let's troubleshoot the actual printer first
Please print a test page, and let me know if any black or color blocks come out?
Load unused, plain white, U.S. letter or A4 sized paper in the tray.
Press the Power button ( ) to turn on the product.
Press the Setup button ( ).
Press the right arrow button ( ) to select Print Report , and then press OK .
Press the right arrow button ( ) to select Self-Test Report , and then press OK . The self-test report prints.

  • Two sided printing manually on 2540

    (mod added link: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-All-in-One-Install-Setup/two-sided-printing-manually-on-2540/td...)
Hello! I'm writing from Italy (there isn't an official forum in my language) I'm having the same problem but I can't solve because the links you osted before now works only for windows 7 or 8 but I still have XP... what can I do?
    Thank you in advance!

    Hi @Enrica76,
    Thank you for your response.
When you insert the printed sheets into the printer, the steps in the How-To document have you restarting the print job from the computer. Just to make sure I’m understanding your post correctly, are you indicating that you restart the job from the computer and then nothing happens?
    Thank you.

  • Is there a printed manual for Photoshop Touch?

I'd like a printed manual for Photoshop Touch for Tablet.

I think there was a PDF quick start but that was for version 1.3; we're now on 1.5.1, which is a little different.
My advice for people who just picked up PS Touch is to have a rudimentary understanding of Photoshop's main paradigm: Layers. From there, it's a matter of understanding the similarities and differences between the two.
e.g., Photoshop & Photoshop Elements have adjustment and layer masks but PS Touch lets you "paint" an effect onto a layer, even though it's destructive. (You can, however, mimic something like an adjustment mask by simply inserting a blank layer, filling it with neutral gray, setting the blend mode to Overlay, and then paint with the brush tool using various levels of black or white.)
Effects and adjustments like Curves and Levels work very similarly.

  • Printed Manual?

What kind of printed documentation is included in the Logic Express 8 retail package? Is there a printed manual or just the pdfs?

Hey Charles, you can download the full PDF manual right here:
    http://www.apple.com/support/manuals/logicexpress/
It's like I said before, you get a light quick guide, it has been confirmed by the Apple Store (I just called.) They are trying to be eco-friendly like many other companies.

  • How to get printed manuals with upgrade to FCP from Motion?

I upgraded my standalone version of Motion to FCP 5.1 Universal through the mail and wondering how I can get the printed manuals. I realize it's not practical for Apple to mail 40 pounds of books and that the same text is probably on one of the DVDs but reading a physical book makes learning easier than reading on screen.
Has anyone been able to upgrade from Motion to FCP and get the printed books?
    Thanks,
    DAN
    PowerBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

    David,
Apple provides manuals with most of it's software. I KNOW THIS OCCURS FOR A FACT! Thanks for posting your doubts and other notes but I don't think they are really being crafted towards helping at this point.
I was actually hoping others might have found solutions rather than looking for salt to rub into the wound. But to help you and the others you have spoken with to understand possible solutions I'm hoping might remedy the problem here are a few that suggestions:
    - Call Apple Customer Support and get them to exchange the misrepresented product through the mail for what was represented.
    - Walking into the Apple store and confronting the sales people with the issue and getting them to exchange the product.
    - Working through Consumer Affairs and getting them to eiother refund or exchange the product.
    - Calling a local TV station to report the fact that Apple shows one product on their web site and in their stores while selling something different with a the same name that is incomplete.
    - Working through the Better Business Bureau to file a complaint against Apple for the misrepresentation and getting them to replace the product for the abused customers.
    - Emailing the support folks at Apple and getting a emailed voucher in return which will allow users to exchange the product int stores.
I can think of dozens of ways Apple or other organizations could help resolve the situation.
Printing a color manual at Kinko's seems like a ridiculous expense to me. I cannot afford it and I appreciate you not consistently saying it's a viable solution. I'm actually a bit surprised that you keep responding with no help, confusing unrelated comments, and insist on further irritating the situation.
I hope my multiple attempts to help you understand what my issue is and possible solutions that people might offer has helped clarified things for you. If you have any further comments though please reserve them so others who may have had actual experiences similar to mine with possible solutions might be able to read this thread without having to see me explaining things over and over.
    Thanks,
    DAN

  • Best way for producing static html?

I would like to write a program that produces some static web pages that will display some summary stats from stats that are collected in a database but cleared out every few days.
I'm not sure where to begin or what I should be looking at for producing static html pages. Can anyone offer suggestions?
    Thanks

    Use the KISS principal.
XML with XSLT is a huge learnng curve, IMHO. It most
likely way overkill for your needs.
Well, let's see - if I go the application route as you suggested I need to do the following things:
    Connect to the Database
Get a ResultSet of Data I am interested in presenting
Iterate over this ResultSet constructing an HTML page likely via a ton of "output "<TR><TD>" + someData + "</TD>" " type statements.
If I go the XSLT route then I do something like this:
    Connect to the Database
Get a ResultSet of Data I am interested in presenting
Iterate over this ResultSet constructing some normal Java classes
Use something like Castor to convert these things to XML, or just use the XMLEncoder class in the standard lib.
Use XSLT to convert that to HTML
The second way involves learning more technologies than the first, but then it also moves the layout of your page out of the code and into an XSLT file where it (IMO) belongs. And it's not that much more complex, really.
Besides, to me "learning more technologies" is still a plus instead of a minus. KISS is a good thing to keep in mind, but this profession makes it difficult to avoid learning new things.
    Good Luck
    Lee

  • Printed manuals with CS4 upgrade from Adobe?

If I order Production Premium CS4 UPGRADE from Adobe (I now have CS3 ProPre); are there printed hard-copy manuals? And if so, how many?
    Thanks.

There are no printed manuals included with any version of the software.
I believe there are pdf files on the DVDs which are basically a subset
of what is available in the help files. There are installed helpfiles
and internet based help files. The internet based helpfiles are the most
comprehensive and up-to-date. In the past printed manuals were made
    available for a fee.

  • LE 7 printed manual?

Does LE 7 have a printed manual? If so, Is it any good? Will I still need to get the Apple Training Series Book?

Yes, this used to be a problem with Logic - the note sounding at the beginning of a song - but it has been corrected in 7.1. I don't know what version the demo is, but i doubt it has been updated... It's about clearing the RAM I think... As for the cycle: this can happen when you didn't mean to. If you click by mistake in the bit above the bar ruler, it will automatically engage cycle. I sometimes used to do this too, and the solution is to make the bar ruler bigger by dragging on the corner of the transport section to make it bigger. That way it is easier to hit the ruler.
It is harder to mute or solo more than one track at a time in Express that it is in Pro. In Pro, you can apply groups, but I don't think you can in express. Please somebody correct me if I am wrong about this - I too would like to know a better way of group soloing.
Changing the volume of the metronome is done by click holding on the metronome button in the transport section, and a popup menu will offer you recording or metronome. Click metronome, and there are all of its settings. Hope this helps, Fred

  • Bought FCPStudio... how can I get hard print manuals for DVDStudioPro etc?

Just bought FCP Studio... can't believe the box doesn't come with hard cover manuals for Motion, Compressor3, Live Type, Soundtrack Pro2, and most importantly of all, DVD Studio Pro4!
I wouldn't even mind putting out more money for hard print manuals, but I can't find anyplace at the apple store online to even get them. I'm supposed to sit here and babysit multi thousands of pages of Apple notoriously inconcise manuals coming out of the printer like I pirated the software? I can't believe that I'm the only one who still reads paper manuals until they're dog-eared, I HATE reading manuals on the screen.
Anyone know how and where I can buy paper manuals?
    Thanks!

A bit OTT maybe but you may like to consider my option.
I like you wanted to be able to consult manuals and tutorials while sitting at my main machine.
I bought a cheap laptop a Pismo in this case more than capable I do also use it for autocue when doing voice overs which further justified its purchase.
    Like I said maybe OTT . . . maybe worth considering . . . .
