Printing multiple retrieved documents

Is is possible to configure IFS to retrieve multiple documents via a search, and then print all documents at once?

  • Printing Multiple Word Documents?

    HI,
I'm using Panther 10.3.9. How do I print a batch of MS Word .doc files ? I've created a desktop printer and when I drag a bunch of .doc files to it only one file prints! argh... I dragged a folder to the desktop printer and I got a directory listing ... double argh....
Is it possible to do this? And is it possible to do this without seeing the print dialog each time ???
    Thanks,
    Pete

    Hi, Peter.
I would also like to be able to print multiple documents straight from the Desktop by dragging and dropping or using a keyboard shortcut. It's been so long since I used OS 8 or OS 9 that I can't remember if I was dreaming or not, but I'm pretty sure that in the old OSes you could just drag and drop or click Cmnd+P and print away.
I've tried using Automator to make an application (have'nt got the hang of it yet), using a desktop printer and searching for an Applescript on the net; all to no avail. It seems that Word behaves differently depending on whether it's open already and whether there is already a blank document open in it or not. That is, if it has to launch before printing, it opens a new, blank document and prints that (or sometimes does nothing even though the printer launches). However, if Word is already open (but has no other document open) it will print all the documents. As you say, though, you have to then select "print" from the resulting dialogue box for each document. So, it's hardly elegant. As someone said elsewhere, it's more of a "bug" than a "feature".
So, what we need (as far as I can see) is an Automator appplication or workflow (or AppleScript) where 1. you drop a bunch of Word (or other) documents into a folder; 2. Word launches; 3. the new, blank document that automatically opens is closed (by some kind of "close all open windows command"); 4. the documents are sent to the current default printer;5. they all print.
Surely all the publishers who use Macs must use this kind of thing all the time.
I wrote to the guys at CocoaTech (who make Path Finder, an excellent Finder substitute) about this problem and they said they'd consider adding the feature, but at the same time seemed a bit confused about exactly what this feature was or why anyone would want to use it.
Does anyone know of a solution to this?
    Cheers

  • Printing Multiple PDF documents on the fly

    Hello all,
I am looking for a solution for printing the documents to a PDF file. My requirement is that from the application, I can select a set of documents (say 50 numbers) and give for print. The program is in MS access. The MS access opens the report required for generating the documents, pulls the data from the database and generated the document. this will in turn go to a default printer set on the application server. The program repeats for all the 50 dcouments and prints each of them in paper.
All I need know is instaed of printing, all the documents should get mergerd to a single PDF file. Once all the documents are merged I can give it an appropritae name and save it.
Do let us know this is possible by installing a PDF printer driver from adobe on the application server. Will it automatically convert all the prints given at one go to a PDF file or any change in code is required to do it.
    Regards
    Cherian

FYI, when you use the Adobe PDF Print driver that comes with Acrobat, the PDF Producer won't say "Adobe PDF Converter".
When using the Adobe PDF Print driver, you should see:
    Application: Pscript5.dll 5.x.x
    PDF Producer: Acrobat Distiller X.x.x
If your document says "Adobe PDF Converter" then it was created by 3rd party software, most likely this package:
    http://www.clicktoconvert.com/pages/adobe_pdf_converter/index.htm
That is NOT Adobe software.  Please clarify what version of Reader/Acrobat you are using so that we can properly help you.  If you need help with your 3rd party PDF print driver, you should contact the company that developed it.

  • Printing multiple Payment documents on a single page

    Hi All,
I am using a standard Program RFFOD__V to print the payment documents. When I execute the program with the provided variant, the output of this program creates spool request for Payment Advice . When I see the output of the spool request it prints 50 payment documents on 50 pages(One document per page).
The requirement is that  the client wants to print 3 documents on a single page hence it will reduce the amount of pages in the printout.
Please suggest how can we do it. The Script attached to this standards program is a customized script.Do I need to copy the standard program and make changes to it or Can I achieve it only by changing the script ?
Can we achieve it thorough customization,if not , then please suggets how can I achieve the desired functionality.
    Earliest reply would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Manish

That's one of those things that is just easier in some other programs. In ID you have to do your own n-up page.
You can reduce the overhead, though, but making your label 1-up to start and saving that. For the n-up page place the original ID file, then use step and repeat to make a grid of linked-file labels. Now there's only one file you have to worry about updating -- the single instance. The n-up file will ask you to update the link the next time you need to print.
You still need two files for each label, but you only need to work in the second one once.

  • Why do my email attachments open as only one page in Preview, I can't print multiple page documents

Why do my emailattachments open as only one page in Preview? Multiple page attachments only will print as 1 page with very small  print?

It's a Finder feature, related to Quick Look. You can hit the space bar in the file list to get a preview.
If that doesn't work, you may have an issue witha  preference file or similar. I find rebuilding the launch databse works quite well resilving tis kind of thing, as does trashing Finder preferences

  • Officejet 4630 won't print multiple page document

Installation was a piece of cake - but I've found that when I try to print more than 2 pages, I receive a printing error. There's no explanation as to what the error might be. I've run the HP doctor and it said that errors were fixed. When I tried to print again, I received the same error. This is very frustrating. Please help. This is a brand new printer.

Hi   Although I am not sure what the error is, or what is causing it, I have a few things we can do to try to resolve the issue.  First I suggest using the following steps to delete the printer from device and printers, and the driver from the server properties. 1. In the ‘Devices and Printers’ folder2. Choose ‘Print server properties’.Win XP – With no printer selected, click ‘File’ then ‘Server Properties’.Windows Vista – With no printer selected, press ‘Alt’ then click ‘File’ then ‘Server Properties’.Windows 7/8 and 8.1 – Select any printer in the ‘Devices and Printers’ folder and click ‘Print Server properties’ above.3. Click on the ‘Drivers’ tab at the top of ‘Print server properties’ window4. Choose the printer you want to uninstall and click ‘Remove’5. Choose 'Remove driver only'6. The next screen will give a warning, letting you know that deleting the driver package will remove it from the system. Click ‘Yes’ to say that you are sure you want to do this. If documents are stuck in the print spooler, you may see an error, cancel any documents pending in the print queue, or try restarting the print spooler, then try to remove the driver from ‘Print server properties’ again. If it still won’t remove the package, restarting the computer and the printer should resolve this ‘in use’ error and allow the driver to be removed. If the you continue to get an 'in use' message follow the steps in the document here; The Specified Printer Driver is Currently in Use
After the driver is removed, open Start > All Programs > HP folder > Printer folder > HP Setup and Software (or the printer icon).
The Setup and software screen will open and you can click on Connect a new printer.
If this issue persists let me know and I will see what else we can do. Thanks.

I am using Mac OS 10.5.8 with a hp deskjet 960c. Over the past few weeks the printer no longer prints documents with multiple pages from Preview or Excel. It will print the first page from these two programs but stops there. It still prints multiple page documents from Word and Acrobat Reader. I have no issues when using a different printer. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the printer multiple times. Any ideas?

Same problem with HP6940. USB connection.
    Also reinstalled drivers.
HP4050N has no problems on network.

  • How can I use Adobe Acrobat X Standard to print multiple documents on Lexis Nexis File & Serve?

I am unable to print multiple documents on the Lexis Nexis File & Serve legal website that used their Batch Document Processor software. The technicians there told me that Adobe Acrobat X Standard has an incompatibility with their Batch Document Processor software. I never had a problem with Adobe Acrobat 6.0 or Adobe Acrobat 9.0 and the Batch Document Processor program at the Lexis Nexis File & Serve website. I am now running Windows 7 Professional SP1. Before, we were running Windows XP Professional SP3 with the IE 8.0 browser. We now are running the IE 9.0 browser.

The answer is in the question...
Only the Pro version of Acrobat is capable of batch processing files (which
I assume the Lexis Nexis tool uses). Until now you had Acrobat Pro, and now
you have Acrobat Standard, and therefore you can't use it anymore. You need
    to upgrade to Acrobat Pro.

  • Unable to print multiple copies of documents on Win7 machine with Office 2010

Since upgrading to Windows 7, I have been unable to print multiple copies of documents in any MS Office 2007, 2010, Word Pad or Adobe Reader 9.  I also experience the same problem if I print from Word Pad.  The issue appears to be associated with the Collate Option in the Print Dialog box.  If the Collate box is checked, I only get one copy of the document.  If I uncheck the Collate box I get as many copies as I choose.   The problem is that with the Collate box unchecked, I have to collate multiple copies by hand, and with 10 – 20 copies of multi-page documents that can be quite a chore.
The ironic thing is that MS Visio 2003, on the same machine, prints and collates as many copies as I choose, with the Collate box checked.
I can print multiple copies of Word 2003 documents from my wife’s Win XP machine to the same printer, but not from my Win 7 machine with Office 2010.
My printer is an HP LaserJet 1320nw and I have downloaded and installed the latest printer drivers from the HP Web site.
Has anyone experienced this problem, and if so, are you aware of a solution other than unchecking the Collate box?

I have the same issues with my LJ1320. I have Office 2010 and Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.   However, my printing problem is more widespread since I have been unsuccessful at printing multiple copies of all types of documents, not just from  Office 2010.  For example, I have the same problem trying to print multiple copies from  Internet Explorer.
I also have other problems printing  from Office 2010 that you may not have discovered yet.  I cannot print Excel spreadsheet grid lines from Office 2010 if those documents were originally created in an earlier version of Office.  I tried saving them as Office 2010 documents and also using compatibility mode but nothing worked.  These same documents print fine on the same printer from my laptop which uses Windows Vista and Office 2007.  Also Excel spreadsheets originated in Office 2010 print nicely.
Looks like HP has a few bugs in their printer drivers.
I note that HP released a new Universal Print Driver for Windows PCL5x64 on Feb 18, 2011 (Version 5.2.6).  Have you tried it yet?

  • Printing multiple sets of Portfolio documents collated

I use Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro's pdf Portfolio to print multiple documents with similar printing properties (two-sided, stapled, hole-punched) but they are separately two-sided and separately stapled. I try doing multiple copies but the print job comes out with 20 copies of document 1 of the porfolio followed by 20 copies of document 2 of the porfolio, and so on. How is it possible for me to make multiple sets of the portfolio which are by set rather than by document?

I am also looking for an answer to this question.

SAP has provided with t-code 'J1IP' for printing excise invoice documents. But for printing multiple documents we need to click print button each time for every new document. is there any other way by which you can print bulk excise documents without clicking print button each time?

for example, IF you Select the Document Type - Incoming Excise Invoice.

  • Printing a multipage document containing multiple Components

    Hi everybody,
I am trying to print a multipage document which consists of multiple JPanels used for grouping, each of which hold JLabels and JScrollPanes and JTextAreas.
I know how to do multipage printing with text but I am lost with the multi component situation.
Thanks in advance for any help.
    vh

If you know how many pages are in use, get the size of the page (the pageformats imageable height * page number) and with that number translate the page up that number of pixels. ( the translate method of graphics ). Then you can draw all the components on the page. Make sure you translate before you draw, this mistake took me a day to figure out. Hope this helps.
