Printing MySpace photos with Elements 4.0

I can go to MySpace and print a photo directly(4X6) and it is fine. I save the photo from MySpace as a JPEG (not allowed to set any parameters) and bring it into Photoshop Elements 4.0. When I try to print 4X6 it is pixelated and very fuzzy. I can print it very small (like 1X1) and it's fine. Any ideas how I can get a good 4X6 printing out of Photoshop?

Kimberly,
I rather liked what you were trying to achieve but didn't like the
bend and warp bit so I tried this.
1. I started with a new blank, transparent 2" x 3" set at 300
pixels/inch you can of course choose anything to suit your needs
2. I used the text tool to type in the number 2 in black. Use any
suitable chunky font for this.
3. I then selected the 2 and stretched it to fit whilst holding down the
shift key to maintain it's original proportions.
4. Open up the two pictures you want to use for this exercise and make
sure they are both sized to 300 pixels per inch or the same resolution
you chose in 1.
5. Copy both pictures as new layers above your number 2 layer. I place
the image(s) on the edit workspace and then just drag this picture over
my Number 2 picture in the photo bin for this but you can go through the
clipboard in the normal way.
6. I then lowered the opacity of the pictures so I could see the number
2 and then just repositioned the pictures to fit the number. You can tug
them about using any of the transforms if you wish.
7. Set the opacity back to 100% for the picture layers
8. Group the top two picture layers with the Number two layer. Only the
pixels not above the transparency will then show through just showing
the number 2.
You group by holding down the left Alt key and then clicking on the
junction between the layers you will see the pointer change to indicate
all is ready.

  • How to print boderless photos with 6525 printer from Windows 7

Regardless of whatever setting I use with the 'Advanced' print menu in Windows or within Adobe Photoshop Elements 10, I STILL get a border around every print. I've even set 'Custom print size'  in Photoshop to the full 7 x 5"- and the on-screen preview image shows the paper size correctly filled without a border - but the printer still gives a border, like it or not!
    HELP!!!

    Hello Suffolkman,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I understand that you are trying to print a 5x7 borderless photo with the Photosmart 6525, but it will not despite the setting you have entered.
The 5x7 paper does support borderless, I was able to print one fine. You mentioned applying this under the Advanced setting, was this the area?
If not, you can access this by right clicking on the printer from Devices and Printers, then Printer Preferences.
Have you tried to print the photo from Windows Photo Viewer?
Also, the HP Print and Scan Doctor is a great to you can utilize to ensure the drivers and software are functioning as they should.

  • Print multiple photos with captions

I cannot find a way to print 4-6 photos with captions. Instructions say to click on More Options on bottom of dialog box. when i click on that, only color management is an option. This is after selecting Picture package. please help.

PS Elements 6 with Windows XP sp2. I tried the organizer but would go with either one that works. What I want to do is print between 3-6 photos on a plain white piece of paper, enlarged to fit the page with captions under each photo. I have used Word to do this but thought an all in one would be better. Thanks for any help you can provide.

  • Can I add a bit of colour to a b&w photo with elements 8?

Hi,I'm looking at purchasing elements 8.The main thing I want to do is a black and white photo with a colour object. Will elements 8 do this? Thanks any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here are some ways to convert color to B&W but retain selected areas of color
The first method is probably the easiest, and is also described in more detail in the recent forum topic http://forums.adobe.com/thread/512424?tstart=30
    Method 1
    1. Add Hue/Saturation layer, move Saturation slider all the way left to remove color.
    2. Set Foreground & Background colors to B&W defaults.
    3. Paint with black to reveal color, paint with white to remove color.
    Method 2
    1. Duplicate Background layer.
    2. Remove color:
Enhance > Adjust Color > Remove Color
           or
Enhance > Adjust Color > Hue/Saturation, move Saturation all the way left.
    3. Use Eraser tool on duplicate layer to reveal color from Background layer.
    Method 3
    1. Select the area you want to keep the color, make it a new layer.
    2. In background layer,
Enhance > Adjust Color > Remove Color
           or
Enhance > Adjust Color > Hue/Saturation, move Saturation all the way left.
    Method 4
    1. Create a blank layer above the Background layer and set its Blend Mode to Color.
    2. Paint with default black or white to remove color.
    3. Use  Eraser to restore color.
    Method 5
    1. Create blank layer above Background layer and set its Blend Mode to Color.
    2. Select the area you want to keep the color, and invert the selection.
    3. Fill the selection with default black or white to remove the color, and deselect.
    4. To remove excess color paint with default black or white. To remove excess B&W use the Eraser.
In all of these methods, use a soft brush or eraser if you want a feathered transition between the color and b&w portions.

  • Repair of demaged photos with elements

    Hallo,
caused by a flood in my location (Bavaria/Germany), I have many demaged photos, which where stored in cellar, which was flooded. The photos are dirty and wet, but they can be cleaned and dehumidified. Many photos have now areas with ruined colours (see uploaded sample image below) and "fire blizzards" on it. My question: can I prepare demaged photos with photoshop elements (8, 9 or 11) in that way, that I get back a good picture? Or is there no chance to do this?
    regards
    hfreiwald

I don't know Corel PSP X5 but from your description it sounds like PSE has much of the same tools. The Clone tool could certianly be used to fix a lot of the speckles and scratches. My old PSE version 2 does not have this, but there is the Healing Brush (similar to Corel area correction brush?) which might do a a better job, epecially on the scratches.
Here I used the Clone tool to fix some scratches/speckles on the man in the foreground and used the Dodge tool to lighten the left portion of the picture.
Again, PSE11 might have other tools to do a better overall job than my PSE2.

  • How to print regular photos with photo creation

I installed Photo Creation, and I want to print photos, I don't want design, how can i print normal prints.
    Thank you

    Hi Maricris.
To print plain photos in HP Photo Creations, select the Prints project rather than the Collage Prints project. (Collage prints let you place up to 60 items on a page, including photos, graphics, and text.)
Here's a step-by-step guide to making single plain prints in sizes from 4x6 up:
    http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Home-Web-Printing/How-do-I-print-4X6-with-tab-photos-1-per-page-with-NO...
HP Photo Creations doesn't have a preset for wallet-size prints, so in that case, you can use the Collage Prints project to group multiple copies of the same photo on a page. Here's how:
Start with the Plain White theme. It's in the Contemporary category.
    Add your photo.
Click the Photos tools and then the Used Photos tab. You'll see a small version of your photo there.
Click the photo in the Used Photos area several more times to add multiple copies to the layout. In the example below, we added ten copies total.
Click the Design tools. Then click the Photo Layouts tab.
Select the Basic category and then click the fourth preset. It looks like a big square. Your photos should line up as shown below.

  • Emailing photo with Elements 11 not working.

I have long known of the merits of the Homegroup sharing of computers, especially as it is related to printers and non Adobe files on external hard drives.
So, when you brought up the point
But on an ethernet home network, it works just fine. I can easily have my program on one computer and my media files and even my project on another and edit a video between them.
That was a great tip which I had not run into before and consequently have not taken advantage of. So, I gave it a try between my Premiere Elements 11 on Windows 7 64 bit and Windows 8 64 (with everything possible being shared between the two as allowed by Homegroup Sharing).
Bottom line is that it did finally work fine, but it took some doing to get there. The final obstacle was clicking Yes to the Open Project message of:
The Scratch Discs are write protected or unavailable. To open this project, the scratch disks will be set to your My Documents folder. Would you like to continue?
    Have you run into that?
    Thanks.

  • How do i print a photo with the file name

This seem stupid simple but I cannot find an answer anywhere. I want to print out hardcopies of phots with the file name printed with the photo. In Windows there is a program called Picture Manager (which has been eliminated in Office 2013) where you can open a folder of images, rename them individually or in batches, resize, edit, etc, all in one lovely program. You can print out individual or contact sheets with specific information for each image. Easy, one program, easy results.
Is there a comparable program for the Mac? I have searched the web and can only find suggestions that use multiple progams, downloads, plugins, and convoluted work arounds to do this. I have tried printing contact sheets in iPhoto but it crashed each time. Our IT guy suggested moving the images into an album and printing from there but it still crashes. And even if it worked I want large image per page but iPhoto leaves a large amount of white space.
The quickest way I have figured out is this:
Select the images in Finder, make a separate folder and copy the images there. (3steps)
Locate the folder in Finder and drag it to the Bridge icon (4steps)
Select the images in Bridge, adjust the output settings and Save as a pdf (6steps)
Locate the pdf in Finder, open in Acrobat, select the images (again!) and print (9steps)

  • How to remove duplicate photos with Elements and Revel?

While on vacation this year, I uploaded pictures from my camera to my iPad to Revel.  When I got home, I copied all of the pictures from my camera to my harddrive on my laptop and imported them into Elements 12.  On my laptop I store photos in subdirectories like this:  \Lisa\albums\Pictures201509.  I found duplicates of most of my photos in \Users\Owner\My Pictures\Adobe\Revel\My Catalog Old.  I would like to clean these up so I only have once copy of each photo on my harddrive.
    I have 3 questions:
    Why did this happen?
How can I clean this up and not complete mess up my Elements and Revel catalogs?
How can I prevent this in the future?
    thanks,
    Lisa

The folks at www.overmacs.com/photosweeper told me that they are upgrading their product so it will work with Apple Photos.  It works now with iPhoto and Aperture.  It has many adjustments to detect same name files, and even same or similar content images.  Monitor their website for a future release.  There is a small fee for the pro version, which is well worth the price.

  • Cannot print 7x5 photos with C4680

    Hi,
I recently purchased a Photosmart C4680. Im happy with its standard document printing and i managed to print some 6x4 photos using the hp advanced photo paper that came with the printer.
However, i have been trying to print some 7x5 photos using some 240gsm photo paper that i got from my local stationery store. The paper is also 7x5. The problem i have is that the prints come out misaligned (in that they are slightly rotated by a degree or so) and they also seem to print offset by about an inch (ie, the last part of the photo to come out of the printer when the paper goes through in portrait orientation is unprinted).
Ive tried various printer settings in both photoshop cs4 and the HP Photo creations software but to no avail.  Im running Windows 7, driver version 8.0.0.0 (25/04/2008)
I dont know what i need to do to get this working. Has anyone else had this problem or could suggest where im going wrong.
    Cheers
    Mark

Hello.  The paper weight that you are using 240 gsm is too thick for the printer.  The maximum recommended paper weight is 89 gsm (20-24 lbs).  A lighter weight paper should solve your problem.  Best regards, Tim...

  • Can't print 4X6 photos with upgrade 3.2

I get an error msg when I try to pring 4 by 6 inch phots, can print the other sizes

I cannot print photos. I have 4x6 Kodak Ultra Premium paper. I have a new HP Photosmart C5280 printer with a photo tray. The tray seems only accessible from a camera memory card and my photos are on my computer. In Adobe or the HP Photo programs the same menu comes up and I have gone through all the choices. None will print. Error message keeps repeating "wrong paper size."

  • Printer setup operation with elements 12

I hav spent hours with online support on this issue. They can correct the symptoms, but they cannot correct the problem, and we end up in circular discussions. My new photoshop 12 looses communication with my Epson printer driver when trying to set up a print job. When I enter "ADVANCED SETTIN GS" the message is shown that the printer does not exist. I can print to the printer with whatever the default settings are in the driver, but cannot change the settings. Support has had me delete some %appdata% files that restores the function for a while, but then the problem will reappear when I am involved in intensive printer setup. I have Elements 10 and can print without any problems even though 12 seems to have crashed. How can we solve this problem?

Moving this discussion to the Photoshop Elements forum.
