Printing No Longer Available Option Mac OS X Leopard Photoshop CS3

I run Photoshop CS3 on my Mac OS X Leopard.  In the past few weeks, Photoshop will no longer let me print .psd files that I have created.  The "Print..." option remains greyed out and the shortcut also will not work.  Photoshop will still print modified .jpg files, and printing is not an issue on any other program I run.
I tried restarting my computer, running the Software update and running the Adobe update, but none of these attempts fixed my problem.  I am still able to print older .psd files that I previously created using the same program.
When previewing these .psd files with printing issues on my desktop using the spacebar, the images appear small, grainy and darker than the correct image, rather than the full-size preview. Again, this is not an issue for any other files on my computer, including older .psd files.
It appears to be a Photoshop issue rather than a printer issue, any suggestions would be much appreciated.  Thank you!

What is the bit depth of the files that don't print.
Not knowing what printer you have I can only guess the PSDs that don't print are 16 or 32 bit.

  • Lion no longer available on Mac App store....

So what do we do if we need to download Lion again?
If we have Mac's which do not support Mountain Lion, but are currently running Snow Leopard, then how do we get Lion?
If we need to reinstall Lion, or create a bootable USB Key for Lion, then how can we do so, since it is no longer available on the store?
What if we need to reinstall Lion? What do we do then?
This is ridiculous. Is it going to be like this for other apps like Xcode as well?

I just called the number PDilla gave; they took my credit card info, and will send a download code and instructions later.  I was a little surprised it wasn't immediate, but I'll report back when I get the mail (or when I don't :-) ).
Apple hardware runs a long time (this is an early 2008 Macbook); you'd think they'd keep software such as Lion available for those of us that have hardware that cannot upgrade to Mountain Lion.
Update: In the time since I began typing the info, above I have received an acknowledgement of the order.  The email implies that it will be a physical shipment, but the Apple store representative said it would be a code for download.  It has not yet shown up in the Purchases section of the Appstore.

  • PDF printer no longer an option? Need a better choice than "save as pdf"

We ungraded our work computer to snow leopard. Since then the pdf printer no longer works. In leopard to make a high quality pdf of our ad we would hit command print and select acrobat 7.0 as our printer. That no longer works in snow leopard so now we have to use "save as pdf" the problem with this is it doesn't compress the file and saves it as lower quality than the newspaper companies like. What's the best way to go about this now that snow leopard screwed things up?

Adobe has a Knowledge Base article, "Can't Print PDFs - Mac OS X 10.6" which explains that changes in Snow Leopard caused the old and well-loved PDF printer to disappear, or at least stop working.
Specifically for InDesign, I've read that the best alternative in Snow Leopard is to go the old-school route and print to a .ps file, then run that through Acrobat Distiller. Others have had success with exporting to PDF (as opposed to going through the Print dialog and using the Save As Adobe PDF).

  • Wireless printer "no longer available"

MyHP Officejet 6500 E710n-z printer no longer prints wirelessly from my iPad2 & iPhone 4S after working fine for many months. Any ideas on how to reconnect? By the way, my wireless network works fine with my MacBook Pro running OS X version 10.6.8.

Have you tried to see of the firmware on your printer needs to be updated? If apple happened to change the protocols for air print (I don't know if they did but anything is possible) then your printer's firmware will also need to be updated.
You can also see if a simple reboot helps. Turn your printer off then on, power cycle your router - unplug it, count to ten, plug it back in, and reboot your iPad (hold down the sleep and home keys until you see the silver apple, then let go and let it reboot)
sometimes just letting the electronics get a fresh start can help a ton.

  • CS3 and PowerPC Mac - can't get Photoshop CS3 to install

I'm using a PowerPC based Mac - OSX v 10.4.11. I tried to install the CS3 suite - some apps installed fine, some did not. Photoshop CS3 did not install. Now when I try to use PS CS2 quite a few features are missing, particularly in the filters menu. Has anyone seen this? Please help!
    Thanks

You almost certainly will have to remove CS3 from your System before you can re-install CS2. After you have installed CS2, you can then re-install CS3 in addition.
Use the Adobe Uninstaller and run the CleanScript as well for good measure.
    http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cs3clean.html
Then repair permissions both before and again after installing the software.

  • Option for Automatic two sided printing no longer available

Win 7 and HP c7280,  Word 2010.  Everything worked fine yeasterday but today when I tried to change from one sided to automatic two sided printing I got only two choices, one page or manual two sided.  It is set for automatic  in the printer properties but in the panel where it asks what you want to print I put in entire documant and then below that it asks for one sided or drop down menu used to say manula or automatic two sided, now it only says manual.  What happened and how to I fix it.  Printer Setup says the extra atachment is "installed"

Welcome back to the HP Community , I read your post about the print settings that seem to be missing from Word 2010. I have a few ideas in mind that may help you below. 1. Run the Print and Scan Doctor. This diagnostic tool will check for any conflicts that could be causing the issue. The tool will show you a report at the end. If there was a problem that the tool could not fix, you will notice it in the results. 2. Uninstalling the Printer Software, restart the PC and reinstall the printer. 3. Print from other programs, and if you find the issue only in Microsoft Word 2010, post this issue in the Microsoft Forums to see if an expert there can help! • Ethernet printer no longer available after upgrading Airport

I had an older Airport wired into a router. An older ethernet printer was also wired into the router. I was able to print from various computers on the wireless network with no problem.
Today I upgraded my dying Airport with a new Airport Express. I am connected to the router and the internet with it from the various computers, but I can no longer print. Nothing else changed. My Mac tells me "printer not responding".
I checked to make sure Appletalk was on. The printer has a fixed IP address, 192.168.0.5, its an older printer and that's the only way I can network it. That never stopped me from printing before. I haven't changed any other settings and don't understand why the Airport would keep me from accessing a printer on the network.
Is it some kind of security setting?
    Help!

Ensure that the Airport Express is configured to not distribute IP addresses.

  • Adobe PDF Printer No Longer Available After Acrobat X Install

I've been using Acrobat 8 Pro for several years. To generate PDFs, I use the Adobe PDF printer (through FrameMaker). I recently installed Acrobat X Pro. Now there's no Adobe PDF printer. Save as PDF doesn't work (no PDF generated). I need to get the Adobe PDF printer back but cannot find any information about how to install it. All the Acrobat Distiller help has to say is that you should use the Adobe PDF printer. Not helpful at all.

    Good day,
I'd like to see if I can help you.

So I spend Time installing the "TRIAL" (1hr) and eat up to 2 gig's of my hard drive.
Then I cant do the one thing that it should do from the get go, create a PDF!
Did the Adobe PDF Printer install with your trial?
What application did you author the file in that you'd like to convert to PDF?
Did you print your file from that application to the Adobe PDF Printer?
And to correct and continue to evaluate the "TRIAL" version I must delete the working version of software so that the "TRIAL" Version will be able to create a PDF!!!!(30 Min)
And if I don't like the "TRIAL" version I have to Reinstall the Original.
    (30 Min)
Do you mean that you had a previous version of Acrobat (such as Adobe Acrobat 8 or 9) installed?
If so, this is not surprising as we do not support multiple versions of Acrobat installed on the same computer.

  • Help! - Printing via Photoshop CS3 to a Canon ip1800 printer

    Hi
Please be gently with me as i'm new to a Mac............
Prior to my purchase I would print images via Adobe Photoshop CS using Windows OS to a Canon ip 1800 printer and would be sufficiently happy with the results for home printing.
Since purchasing a Mac things have all gone horribly wrong! I am now either producing washed out prints or one's with weird and wonderful colours.
The only reasonable results I have been able to obtain are by either printing in iphoto or by letting the printer manage colour.
    This is my current workflow
    Photoshop Cs3 edit image
    File print
Colour management Document: Select profile Adobe RGB/ SRG (tried both)
    Colour handling: Photoshop handles colour
Printer profile: Canon ip1800 series SP2 (For photo paper plus Glossy 11 pp-201)
Rendering intent: Perceptual (tried all to be fair)
    Black point compensation: /
    Print
    Printer: Canon ip1800 series
    Preset:Standard
Colour matching (no control all greyed out but led to believe this is correct)
Colour Sync (circle with a dot) Canon colour matching (circle)
    Print
    Awful result !
I may be doing something completely obviously wrong but this is the same workflow I have previously followed but without the options in the printer driver. I'm guessing but think there might be some double profiling going on. I have had a quick try in lightroom 2 with very similar results.
Any help would be appreciated as its driving me mad!!
Many thanks in anticipation of your help
    Steve

    Hi
    Thanks for the reply
I'm currently using OSX 10.6.5 Snow leopard with what assumed was the latest Canon driver 10.30.3.0..........should I be using 10.26?
    Kind regards

  • Since upgrading to Mavericks, my Canon MP980 printer no longer works. I've tried deleting the printer and adding it again. the process ends with my mac saying the software is not currently available from the software update server.

Since upgrading to Mavericks, my Canon MP980 printer no longer works. I've tried deleting the printer and adding it again. I've downloaded the driver software from Canon. My Mac dropbox tells me "the selected printer software is available from Apple", but when I click to download it, the process ends with my mac saying the software is not currently available from the software update server.

Open Finder and click on Go > Go to Folder. Then type
    /Library/Printers/Canon
and press Enter. This will show the BJPrinter and iJScanner folders. You could try moving or trashing this folder and then installing the driver that you downloaded from Canon again.

  • Mac OS no longer available after trying to remove Windows on Bootcamp. How can I restore Mac OS without the Mac HDD in options?

Mac OS no longer available after trying to remove Windows on Bootcamp. How can I restore Mac OS without the Mac HDD in options?
So what I did was, I had bought my iMac from a shop and asked them to do bootcamp for me. However, they installed 32 bit instead of 64. My fault, I did not make my self clear about it. So after it has been delivered to my house, I realized that I wanted the 64 bit. I tried to remove windows on bootcamp but honestly, I have not experienced this before. So I failed. I believe, I did something wrong.
So I opened the iMac and it keeps asking me to go to windows. Windows OS also corrupted.
I tried the Option Key but the only option is Windows 7 only. So using a different keyboard, I press option and it only shows Windows HDD and the Mac HDD has gone.
What am I going to do? How can I restore Mac OS without the HDD anymore?

    Try using Lion Recovery

  • With newest Mac OS, Lion, a print preview is no longer available when printing a page directly from the website.

When I used the operating system, Snow Leopard, there was no Firefox. Lion is the latest operating system and Snow Leopard was the latest system before Lion was introduced. Also, there is no problem when I use the native browser, Safari.

Doc: I've had a similar experience, and here are the details, investigation, and a workaround. My printer is a Brother MFC-645CN, and I'm using Snow Leopard (10.6.8) on a 2010 iMac quad i5 connected to the printer over my ethernet LAN. Are you using a Brother printer?
Firefox has shown this kind of nasty issue for the past six months or so. It seems to be related to the imaging algorithms in Preview when dealing with Firefox (now at v.12) and the Brother printer -- the screwy second page (and beyond) show up skewed and up-sized when doing a print preview also. No such problem seen in Safari or anything else. I am not currently using any other Mozilla apps on this Mac besides Firefox.
A few months ago I tested printing from my administrator account and  a different user account. Firefox printing was completely normal and as expected. When I went back to my main user account, back came the funky second page.I went through extensive troubleshooting to try to chase it down, systematically removing and replacing apps and preferences and many other Library files related to printing, Brother drivers, Firefox, and Preview. Nothing helped. Solution was to migrate my user files to an account where the printing problem wasn't happening. I deleted the problem user account.
Everything was fine for about three weeks, and then with no warning, printing was back to the bad second page, just as before. I am stumped, and I'll let smarter people try to figure it out. I use Firefox a lot, and it's possible that some add-on setting is interfering, or a web page I visited turned the printing funky again. I just don't know.
Also checked on a Mac G4 running Leopard (10.5.8) and Firefox 3.6.28. No printing/preview problems there.
Now, for the work-around I am currently using -- print each page separately, one at a time. Page 1, then page 2, etc. Preview and printing looks completely normal. Hope this works for you until the bug is located and squashed for good.
