Printing of A5 copies (3) on HP LaserJet P1102w is very slow

I hope someone can help us.
At the office we purchased our HP Laserjet only to print invoices. Several months have passed and we are still unable
to make it work properly. Technicians have no clue and the provider of the invoicing program has no clue either.
Our invoices are size A5 and we need 3 copies. We think the printer is assuming we have A4 size. It picks up and prints 1 sheet, then it "rolls" for about 10 seconds without actually picking the next paper. Then it does pick the paper for the second copy. Same story again... 10 seconds later the third copy is picked and printed.
The invoicing program is set to A4 by the program provider and he states that all customers use A4 as setup and that other customers do A5 invoices that way.
In Windows, we have set A5 in "Advanced Options", but on the "General" tab, the paper setup is A4.
Can you please help us by clarifying what we need to do so the printer picks up the paper quickly instead of taking so long?
The program provider states that - if we find where to disable the automatic paper recognition of this printer - we should be able to print properly. Does someone know where this command is to be found?

LaserJet 600 M602 very slow between each documents

Our Laserjet 600 M602 printer is very slow to print between each documents. (around 30 seconds). Same problem with osx 10.6, 10.7, 10.8 and 10.9.

Manual Duplexing use on a HP Laserjet P1102w printer-How is it done?
This is a first using a manual duplex option on a printer and I have been unable to print on both sides of an HP Laserjet P1102w printer, despite doing the following:
Went to Print Setup
Under Finish: chose Print on Both Sides Manually
Left edge binding
and although it prints....I can't seem to get the 'booklet' to print correctly on the other side; Not even sure how to correctly get the paper in so it doesn't double print on the same page.
: I've tried to print first reverse pages,
then even pages in reverse,
but still unable to get the pages in order to fold and create a booklet or print multiple pages on both sides...has anyone had experience with this on what is the best way to try and print documents in booklet form or just both pages to save paper?
Is there a driver or support that will help with this?
No visual screen pops up on the monitor to help with placing the papers so it will print correctly and I have already tried with just a 6 page booklet and failed there.
I've tried googling the results, checked the HP website for any information and either have missed the support information to do this or assume there is none.

HP Deskjet 3520 e-All in one printer trouble with scanning network, connection and very slow print
Dear all
I bought two days ago HP Deskjet 3520 e-All-in one printer serie, but i have some really bad issues with the scanner! I have searched on the internet and i couldn’t find anything to solve the problem.
I have installed the printer according to the book of the printer, so everything did go well(i think), except that i can’t connect the scan to my computer, a Mac OS X (i am connected with the printer). I get directed to the website where i can connect the scanner, but every time i try to connect it with wi-fi, i get two notification, one from my computer (from HP Itility (Dutch) program) that the connection is off and second from the website that i have to make sure that i’m connected with internet (which i am) and to check the IP address if it is the same with my computer (which is the same).
Obesely something did go wrong, but i can’t find the problem.
Beside when its copy or prints a document (no matter how many pages) it’s very slow. It takes 10 -15 minutes till the printer starts. Has it something to do with the problem i’ve got with the scanner or is the printer always so slow? Because the very first time, when i installed the printer, it printed very fast.
By the way i also print the test-results to check if there is a problem, but according to test-results there are no problems at all.
I hope that someone recognize this problem and can help me to solve it.

Wireless printing is very slow
My wireless printing to my canon mp830 through my airport extreme is VERY slow. about 3 minutes a page, and that's a text page. i've read that this happened in a recent update. but i can't find any info on how to fix it. could someone please help me. thanks.
OK, first are you positive that the HP software you loaded on your Mac is compatible with 10.6? That is a common mistake that has special, non-obvious ways to correct.
You could try to set a static IP address if the software is not an issue.
Please advise on the software and we will go from there.

HP LaserJet P1102W - no print output in Linux Mint 17.1 Cinnamon Desktop
I've just done a default install of Linux Mint 17.1 - as feared, no print output.
I'm guessing I need to install a driver - but I couldn't find anything easily on HP site, only Windows/Mac OS stuff. Are HP printers generally linux friendly? Where can I download drivers if they are? More over, I'm a total linux newbie, so any drivers need to be easily installed! I'm not currently familiar with Terminal windows and line commands!
My printer does have wireless enabled, but I have it connected via direct USB also.
Linux Mint did offer to run a diagnostic tool/debugging tool which gave a great deal of what means nothing to me. Debug output is below if it is helpful, but hoping a simple driver install will cure all ...

Photosmart C4580 "stuck" printing about 20 copies of each when I only asked for 1!

I am baffled and I need to fix this problem soon! I need my printer. All of a sudden, my printer started printing about 20 copies of each item when I only asked for one! This not only uses a lot of ink, but wastes a ton of time, for the little of time I have put up with it. Lately, I have just shut it off. Please - any suggestions?? I thought of uninstalling and reinstalling, but I can't find my disk! Thank you, SolyDid you ever find a solution for this problem? I have no problem printing the business cards out on a Canon printer, or a different HP printer I used to have, but the D110 is nothing but a pain in the you know what ! I'm using publisher and the avery 8371 card stock, I searched solutions for days and did everything possible but still they're not printing correctly!! I'm dissapointed in this printer, every time I have a problem with something it always seems to be an HP product!!! Very frustrating because I never had to mess with any settings in the other printers I had, I would just put the file in, change the quality and click the print button with no problems. I'm ready to throw this printer out the window Anyway thanks in advance and I hope somebody can help me with this issue !!!

How to Print Labels? - HP LaserJet P1102W
I'm close to pulling my hair out here. I recently purchased a LaserJet P1102W as a replacement for my LaserJet 1022n that finally gave out. I am trying to print Avery file labels (template 5066). I am using the old file document, I simply need to reprint. So, I open the file and select 'Print' and then hit 'OK'. On my old model, the Attention light would blink red until I hit what I guess is the ok/accept button (I think it was the button with the triangle and the ! inside, but I can't be sure now) - it would then send the print job for the labels though, allowing me to put the label sheet in first and then it would feed that through from the main tray.
With this new model, I follow exactly the same steps but I can't get the document to print. Hitting the Power button on this unit only turns it off. Hitting the Cancel button deletes the document from the queue and it won't print.
I just spent nearly an hour and a half with HP Live Tech Support and they can't seem to give me a straight answer. They're telling me they need remote access to fix the issue or they need me to delete and reinstall my drivers. One thing the techs are sure of is that it is not a hardware issue, simply user error. Even though I repeated the steps that I took and they say that everything is correct. I was also told to "please the paper", whatever that means.
I was hoping that I could find a fellow user of the P1102w here, or at least someone knowledgable who isn't reading from a book. It just feels like there's a step missing somewhere once I bring up the Print menu. Do I need to manually change a setting or direct it to pull from a certain tray? I'm just trying to do everything possible before I actually uninstall/reinstall the drivers. Also, all the software is current, no updates needed.
Someone please help! I'm losing it...or I've already lost it maybe. lol

I was having this problem too. The problem ended up being that I had turned off the status messages in the printer setup. When I turned the status messages back on, a window pops up when I try to print a label. I click "Continue" and it pulls the label from the manual feed.

Please help! I have an HP LaserJet P1102w desktop printer connected via USB. It has worked fine until about a week ago when I had to have my computer wiped and the operating system reinstalled. I have Windows 7 64 bit OS. I reinstalled the printer, driver, and updated the firmware. It prints test pages and configuration pages just fine, as well as anything directly from my PC. This is an office computer connected directly to a private network using a cloud based server. I cannot print anything from within the cloud to my printer! I have looked through all of the forums and help sites and our IT people cannot assist me as this particular printer is on a list of hardware that they do not work with. As I mentioned, before the reinstallation it printed fine from the network, but now it doesn't seem to make the connection and I don't know what else to try, please help!
Hi , Thanks for posting in the HP Forums, and welcome! +I not sure I understand exactly how you are trying to print, but as this printer is wireless, I think having it connected wirelessly to your network rather than USB to a single computer, might make all the difference. I'd recommend trying the steps in this document to configure your printer wirelessly:HP LaserJet Pro P1102w - Wireless Printer Setup You'll also want to make sure your web services is enabled on the printer. 1. Print a Network Configuration Page.2. Type the IP address that shows up on your configuration page into the address bar of your browser on your computer.3. HP Laserjet P1102w Linux driver cannot find wireless device in printer
When using the (ubuntu 12.04) HP Device Manager to configure the HP Laserjet P1102w Wifi, The device is recognized, but when I go to step three by clicking next, I get this message: “Unable to locate wireless hardware on device”. As a result, when clicking on OK, the only option, I get the following message: “Unable to turn on wireless adapter”. I follow the directions but this is always the result. I only have linux computers here and it is a bummer that I have to borrow someones Window’s computer to set it up. I really do not want to have to keep doing that..... Can anyone help? and thanks in advance.
Thank you Advance23 for the reply, I installed using that link already, the problem is that, the software is Unable to locate the wireless hardware on the printer. I have used 3 computers and same result. If, however, i use a windows computer to get the wireless device working on the printer, i have success.. I had to barrow that computer, and since then have changed service providers and have to activate the wireless device in the printer again. i do not have a windows computer to complete the task at hand.
that aside, all of the other items in the device manager work fine, and as long as i use a usb cable, i can print. I do not buy this printer for that reason, however, I wanted a wireless printer in my home. So there we are... kind of stuck right now. wishing the software would do what it claims to do. -

Moving or Relocating an HP Laserjet P1102w printer, resetting the wireless to defaults
things you need...
a. Smart Start software from HP (may not need)
b. usb cord for connectivity to printer
c. some time
steps....
1. Reset the Printers wireless by unplugging the printer and hold down the Wireless and Cancel keys together and plug the printer back in.
2. Hold down for about 5 seconds after power then release, this setup the wireless part for DHCP.
3. uninstall the printer software from your PC or Laptop, if you have other HP products be careful with this part.
4. Reboot your PC or Laptop.
5. plug printer via usb which will start the installation wizard.
6. follow prompts.
7. make sure you choose "install software for wireless network" or something to that affect. This will start the Network install using the USB.
8. The wizard will let you know when to disconnect the USB.
9. The wizard will walk you through the wireless setup while using the usb when finished it will ask you to disconnect the USB.
10. follow the on screen prompts and printing the test page and you should be good to go.
for this issue i was moving the printer from one wireless network to another. I was trying to find some documentation, but could not find anything that was straight forward. Hope this helps.Thanks for sharing that valuable information Rogerr777 .

According to the information you provided, it is really difficult to diagnostic the issue. But there are several things may good for you to check:
1. Did the printer work before? If yes, you may seeking what' the difference may lead to this offline issue.
2. How do you connect P1102w to your PC? I suggest that you use USB connection to test
3. If you connect it via wireless, could you double check whether the router working fine?
4. Please make sure the printer is power on and connected to the PC successfully, otherwise "offline" is the accurate status for it.

HP LaserJet P1102w will only print wirelessly if I turn the printer off and on again
I have 2 Laserjet P1102w that work fine printing through USB. However, I was hoping this printer could become the standard wireless printer for individual users in the office. I have setup 2 different printers wirelessly with their own static, reserved IP addresses and they are connected to our wireless access point (WPA). We have all laptops that are connected to the network via the same access point as well as through hard wired ethernet. In all cases, they are on the same subnet.
Once I connect any laptop to one of these printers wirelessly through either the "smart install" client or the latest regular installation exe off of HP's site, it will print fine initially. However, whenever I undock the laptop or even just wait a few hours, the connection will be lost and I cannot print. The queue just says "Error - Printing" when I print sometihng. No errors in the logs. The connection will come back if I turn off the printer and turn it back on. This is very annoying and will probably not be acceptable to the users.
So I wanted to do more testing and connected both printers to my laptop wirelessly and made sure they could print successfully. I opened 2 command windows and ran a ping -t on each IP address to see at what point the connection dies. The ping will reply until I undock and go from hard wired / wireless to just wireless.. then it will say "Destination unreachable" and I can't even access the web interface. Even if I redock to hard wired / wireless, I still can't print unless I restart the printer.
This happens on 2 different laptops with 2 different p1102w printers. Any clue as to what's going on here and how I can fix it?

If I have both wireless and nic enabled, once I undock the laptop, the ping -t changes from replying to the ip of the printer, to replying to the address of the wireless adapter with "Destination host unreachable".
For example:
IP of printer: 192.168.2.95
IP of wireless adapter on laptop: 192.168.2.25
ping 192.168.5.95
Reply from 192.168.2.95
Reply from 192.168.2.95
*undock"
Reply from 192.168.2.25 Destination Host Unreachable
Reply from 192.168.2.25 Destination Host Unreachable
This does not happen if I disabled the nic and run only off the wireless card. So the workarounds are to either turn the printer off and back on if I undock every time, or disabled the nic.
At this point, I just want to understand why it is like this?Mowaffaq, you may want to determine whether you are making those changes in the master printing preferences (versus the adjusting the session printing preferences from within your application).
Click "Start", click "Printers and Faxes" (or "Devices and Printers"), right-click your printer, and select "Printing Preferences". On the "Paper/Quality" tab, you should be able to specify A4 as your default paper for all future print jobs.

Trouble with getting the wireless to work with HP Laserjet P1102w printer
Hi really struggling
I just bought the HP Laserjet P1102w as it was advised that it would run my apple products (Mac OS 10.6 Snow Leopard laptop and ipad).
I have mangaed to set up printer to work using the USB cable to the laptop. Success.
BUT i am finding it impossible to get it to work with wireless on any devices.
I get as far as network selection in set up and nothing is in the list (unlike USB which has the printer named) - so i click the 'create' button and input my network/SSID code , which is a BTHub. I assume this is correct? Or is it an address to be found elsewhere ? I have downloaded driver and software (update HP Firmware utility)
which I believe to be correct from the HP.com website for the operating sytem of the mac.
I have also followed a number of videos but often the process does not follow the video sequences.
I have tried to speak to PC Word 'know how team' who sold me the printer but they had no knowledge at all to help this situation. Any help would be much appreciated - this seems l ongoing problem for some other users.Hi @bgriffiths60 ,
I understand that you are having issues setting up the printer over the wireless network. I would really like to be able to help you resolve this issue.
To check your network Encryption type, go to the Apple, System Preferences, Network, click the Advanced button/double click the network name. (shows WEP or WPA)
To check the network password follow these steps:
On the Apple menu bar, click Go, select Applications, Utilities, Keychain Access, double click the network name,
check the box to show the password, type in your Mac password to view it. (some networks have a shortcut password setup)
Make sure Safari is set as the default browser. Sometimes the Embedded Web Server won't open in other browsers.
Open Safari, across the top select the Safari menu, select Preferences, General, set as default.
Restore the printer defaults: Turn the printer off, hold down the wireless button and cancel (x button) while turning the printer back on and don't release the two buttons until the printer stops making noise.
Print out a configuration report and make sure the SSID and IPv4 address are cleared.
HP LaserJet Pro P1102 and P1106/P1108 Printer Series - Printing a Configuration Page.
Go to the Apple, System Preferences, Print and Fax.
Double click on the P1102w.
Open the Utility.
Click Printer Setup.
Click HTML config.
This should open the Embedded Web Server for the printer.
Click the Networking tab.
Click Wireless from the list on the left.
Under Communication Mode , click Infrastructure.
Select your network SSID from the Available Network Names (SSID) list and then click the << button so the network name moves over to other box.
From the Security Mode pop-up menu under Authentication , click WEP, WPA/WPA2 or open . Your selection depends on which Wireless Security Protocol your network uses.
Make sure you select either hexadecimal or alpha depending on your password. (very important)
Apply the settings.
In the confirmation box (changes have been saved), click OK.
You should get a solid blue light on the printer shortly.
Then all we have to do is delete the USB driver and add the network driver.
Click on the Apple.
Click System Preferences.
Click the Print and Fax icon.
Highlight the printer and click on the - sign to delete the printer. (USB driver)
Disconnect the USB cable.
Then click the + sign and select the printer from the list and click add. (P1102w Bonjour)
Test the printer.
If you have any issues with the HTML config opening then do the following steps:
Close any applications.
On the Apple menu bar, click Go, Computer, MAC harddrive, Library, Printers, HP, LaserJet, click on folder for your printer, click on EWS browser or HTML config, click the Networking tab, click wireless on the left and fill out your information. (make sure infrastructure is selected) Apply settings.
Then delete the USB driver and add the network printer.
