Printing on cardstock wih Officejet 5745

I need to print heavy cardstock invitations 5 X 7. I worry the paper will either jam or refuse to make the turn. Solutions?

Hi @Ole-Prof,
Welcome to the HP Forums!
I noticed that you are trying to print on heavy cardstock invitations 5 x 7 with your HP Officejet 5745. I am happy to look into this for you!
According to your printer's specification's, this is an unsupported paper size for this printer. The supported card sizes are:
Paper type

A6 card
105 x 148 mm (4.1 x 5.8 inches)

*The printer is compatible with plain and inkjet Hagaki from Japan Post only. It is not compatible with photo Hagaki from Japan Post.
However, If you are using Windows 7 and above, you might be able to assign an alternate driver, by going to this post, How to Assign Alternate Print Drivers in Different Versions of Windows, by @Shane_R, and then trying a custom paper size. Otherwise, I would suggest to use one of the supported paper sizes mentioned in the chart above.
Hope this information clears things up for you, and thank you for posting!

  • How do I use the double sided printing with my HP Officejet 6500A plus

I need help with learning to use the double sided printing with my HP Officejet 6500A Plus

Click on the Show Details button just above:
You can configure various options from the dropdown menu just below Orientation.
Printing two-sided requires a two-sided adaptor for the printer. Otherwise, you have to print out odd numbered pages first, turn them over and reinsert into the paper feeder, then print even numbered pages. If you do it right you get a nice two-sided document. If you do it wrong all the even numbered pages will be upside down.

How can I print to my HP OfficeJet 6500 Wireless Printer from my iPhone 4S which used to work (on prior iPhones) before AirPrint printers were even available? (running Mac Lion OS, all software and HP sw updates are all performed)
I don't get it, I read one post about why would we have to buy an AirPrint Printer when we have used the "print to a wifi printer" just fine in the past?  Yes I feel that's exactly what's happening to me now too. I want to print from my iPhone and iPad to my WiFi Printer which is also now connected to my Airport Express WiFi network just fine. No problems.

Very glad you added that bit of information because I see different problems similar to this.  I want to share with them what you did and hopefully you not only fixed your specific problem but you can lend some more advice to others with problems like this. Thanks!
Don't forgot to say thanks by giving "Kudos" if I helped solve your problem.

  • Printing problems with HP OfficeJet G55

I have a MacBook running OS X 10.5.4 and I'm having problems printing with my HP OfficeJet G55. I have updated to HP Printer Driver 1.1.1, but after updating, I realized my printer type was not in the list. So that did not fix the problem. I connect my printer to my computer by USB and as soon as I hook it up, the computer recognizes the kind of printer.
When I go to System Preferences-->Print & Fax--> Open Print Queue, it says "Printer Ready". Then when I want to print out a page and after I hit Print, it says something like Printing 11%,...,100%, then automatically the status of whatever I wanted to print says "complete", but the page has not even printed yet. My printer did nothing. I have tried rebooting, and had the same problem. I have also tried deleting the printer from system preferences/print & fax and then adding the printer again, and it doesn't work.
There is nothing wrong with my printer because I printed out a test page, and it worked fine. Also when it's connected to a desktop computer we have..Windows XP, the printer also works. And even when I connect the printer to my old ibook (I think it's on OS 9.1), it also works.
Please if anyone knows about this, I need instructions on correcting the problem!
    Thank you!!

A Gutenprint driver for that model is included in OS X:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1370#hpdrivers
I'd guess you have a corrupted file somewhere. Try these generic fixes:
Reset Printing System - In Print & Fax prefs:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.5/en/14001.html
Get the downloadable Combination Updater from Apple, use it to re-Update OS X.
Use Disk Utility to repair the HD (see Try Disk Utility):
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1417
(Final step - reinstall OS X using the Archive & Install option in the installer.)

I downloaded the 4.2 upgrade for iphone thinking I would be able to print from my HP Officejet Pro 8500 Premier All-In-One A909n.  I have upgraded the HP firmware.  I have turned my printer on and off.  I get an error message that says "No printer found."  I am not able to contact HP due to my warranty being expired--even though I bought the extended warranty from the store.  Please help.  Thanks!

    This printer is listed here:

has offering eprint.  However, some community messages say that it does not work.
I have not been able to get an email address set up for the printer, or to figure out whether or not it is web services enabled.
It does not have the icon on the touch screen that is shown in the hp instructions.

  • Printing Issues with HP Officejet J4580

    Howdy
I can not print to my HP Officejet J4580. The printer itself does work as I have run a test on it.
Any data I send appears on the print queue, but that is all. Nothing happens on the printer end. Also, when attempting to scan, using Preview or PDF Pen, no joy either.

    Thanks Klaus
I tried that but no joy. Data actually arrives at the print queue and then disappears, as if the job has been completed. However, nothing happens.

  • 80070490 error on Win 8.1 for "HP - Other hardware, Printer - Null Fax - HP Officejet Pro 8620"

The indicated update (HP - Other hardware, Printer - Null Fax - HP Officejet Pro 8620) is supplied by Microsoft was an optional update for the HP 8620. Installation fails, with 80070490 error. What can be done to get arround this error. Presumably the update is needed. I am a new HP 8620 user, and I am installing over my home wireless network. All other printing issues seem fine, without problem.
    Please advise.
    Thanks.

    Hi @tonguetwister
Although this appears to be a Microsoft error, not an HP issue, I'd like to try to help. I found something for you to try; Windows Update error 0x80070490.
Please let me know if this resolves the issue, but if the issue persists, it might be best for you to reach out to the Microsoft Community.

  • Printing on cardstock

I have the Photosmart C6280 All-In-One and it doesn't like printing on cardstock - jams.  Any tricks I should know, or am I just out of luck.  HELP

I have the same problem with my HP psc 1300 all-in-one.  In fact, I can't get it to print reliably on anything but plain inkjet bond paper.  All the other paper options listed in the print window are useless -- photo, cardstock, whatever.  I've been trying all day to print on Avery 8387 postcard stock.  It prints the first two lines, then claims there is a jam, and ejects the paper.  I see by the date on your query, and the date on some of the other queries, that many of these questions go unanswered for days, months, and even years.  It would be nice if HP would occasionally read through these posts and contact their customers with some suggestions!  I'm about ready to throw this printer in the trash and buy and Epson -- or something that really will do what it says it will do!
