Printing on coloured material

I wonder if any one can help me. I want to print an image on a red floor tile, how can I see how it will look in photoshop?  As the colour of the tile will change the colour of the ink! (I'm using photoshop elements 8)

Well I haven't had a great deal of success, so I think  I will have to make a mock-up tile eg  print out a photo of the tile and then print the image onto it to show the results, this will be cheaper and easier than sublimating onto tiles just to find the right colours and settings.
Here is a link to a page on a new site I am just building, I have put an image of a mock coat of arms and a photo of a tile, this will perhaps make  the problem I am having a little easier to understand

Thanks for you help and patience

There is a few steps that I would recommend to read through and try. They will most likely solve the print quality issue.
Let me know when you tried these steps and the result of it.

  • Printing in colour on hp 14

I bought an HP Chromebook 14 for myself in Dec '14. I have a HP printer that has the ePrint function but it won't print in colour.
I have seen a previous post with a similar issue. The fix was to click on 'print using google cloud print dialogue' at the bottom left when the print window opened. This is ridiculous as it's not like I'm using my system dialogue because that already is google cloud print. It makes zero sense why there are two pathways to print via the same dialogue. Despite my ideas about this, I did try it.
I have done this and it has allowed me to print in colour. However, the option via this pathway of printing in landscape no longer exists. I reached a point where I could print portrait in colour but not landscape. I could print landscape using the original print window because the option was there but even though I had selected colour it would be in black and white. The 'print using google cloud print dialogue' is clearly the default setting. So, when I print using the print window and select landscape and in colour, the 'print using google cloud print dialogue' overrides to black and white but does not change the orientation because that option doesn't exist. Hence allowing me to print in landscape.
I believe I have an understanding as to why the above happens (but it shouldn't) but I do not know how to get around it.
However, from about 2 weeks ago, the 'print using google cloud print dialogue' button has dissappeared. Now I can only print in black and white, period.
It would be greatly appreciated if someone could help me sort this out. I would eventually like to be able to print in colour for both portrait and landscape.
    Thank you.

    Hi @elisafalconer
Welcome to the HP Support Forums. I understand that you are unable to print in color from your HP Chromebook to your HP printer.
I have included a link to the Google Forums to a thread titled HP printer won’t print color using HP Chromebox. I don’t know if you have the same printer as mentioned in the thread, but there are some valid trouble shooting steps to try.

    Hi Alia26,
I understand that you cannot print in color or do duplex printing now. I will try my best to help you resolve this issue. Could you please try printing from another program to see if you have the choice to print in color and duplex.

  • My HP printer will no longer print in colour

After upgrading to the latest OS my HP printer will not print in colour for me. I thought at first it was the printer error, but then I realised it still prints in colour for my husband's Dell. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the printer; updating the printer driver; looked and looked at the settings to try to find a colour setting in case I've somehow got it set to b&w - but I still can't get any colour print. Any ideas?

It is quite a while since I've used an HP printer, MillyJ, but immediately under the "orientation" selection in the standard print dialogue is there a drop down box which provides a variety of choices including "Quality and Media"? If so, select it and make sure that "Grey Scale Printing" is not enabled. If not look through any other options offered. Strangely, the option for grey scale or black and white printing doesn't appear under the "Color" settings with quite a few printers.
You might also want to have a look at http://ostatic.com/question/mac-leopard-printing-in-black-and-white and see if using the instructions there provide any clues to resolving the issue (essentially in reverse, as this person was actually trying to print in B&W and having trouble)

  • HP 2575 will NOT print in Colour

    Hello,
I have an HP 2575 All-in-One printer, originally it printed OK,but,it was printing more in colour than black/white,even any text, somehow,I played in the setup and managed to print ONLY in black/white,now,I can't print anything in colour,I've replaced the colour cartridge #95 with a new one, with no luck,I've also replaced # 98 (black/white) cartridge with # 99 as per manual to get more colour, unfortunately after the money I spent on the cartridges, still unable to print in colour.
The printer works well for scanning/copying/printing and etc.but, all in black, does anyone know if there's a software/hardware switch to turn the colours back on?? can someone HELP please,I would hate to throw this printer out and ending up buying a new one.
    Thanks to All
    Regards

The most likely cause for no color at all would be the #95 cartridge.  The printheads are built in to the cartridge, replacing the cartridge would replace the printheads.  One thing to try would be to gently blot the printhead on a damp tissue.  A light smear of color or no color at all would indicate an issue.  A working cartridge would show a strong blot of cyan, magenta and yellow.  Are there any indications of color at all on the page?  It is also possible (but less likely) that there is an electrical issue in the drive electronics.   Even a tiny bit of color would indicate the electronics are likely OK.

  • Laserjet 200 won't print in colour

I have had the printer for just over a year and it has worked perfectly.
I have just replace three of the cartridges as they had run out and it will not only print in back and white (or 50 shade of grey).
All the cartridges are full and I can't work out how to get it to print in colour again.
    Any help very much appreciated.
    David

    Hi @DavidRhodes ,
I see that you are having issues printing in color after replacing 3 toners. I would like to help you.
Try and print a hardware self test on the printer to find out if it is a hardware or software issue.
On the printer, go to Setup, Reports Menu, Supplies Status or Demo Page.
Did the self tests print in color?
If it is a hardware issue, please try the steps in this document. Troubleshooting Print Quality Issues.
Are you using Genuine HP Toner?
If the issue is software related, please try the following steps:
Repair the Disk Permissions on the Mac:
    Close all applications.
On the Apple menu bar, click Go, click Applications and then click Utilities.
    Double-click Disk Utility.
Highlight your hard drive/partition on the left.
Click Verify and then Repair Disk Permissions.
    Restart the computer..
    Reset the Printing System:
Note: This will remove all printers in the print and Fax/Scan, any printer removed can be re-added later by clicking the plus (+) symbol.
Click the Apple icon and then click System Preferences.
    Click Printers & Scanners.
Right-click (or Ctrl +click) in the left white side panel, then click Reset printing system.
Click OK to confirm the reset.
Type the correct Name and Password.
Click OK to reset the printing system.
Then click the + sign to add the driver, highlight the printer. (you might have to click the drop down to select the printer's name) Then click on the Add button.
    Try printing in color again.
If you need further assistance, just let me know.
    Have a nice day!

I know nothing about your printer. However, to use it properly you must Add the printer in Print & Scan preferences.
See OS X Mavericks- Set up a printer. Also, consult the printer's user manual. With the proper setup the printer should print color or b/w automatically. If you have further problems you need to start with the printer HP's tech support.

  • I have an epson printer epson stylus office BX625 FWD that will only print in black and white on my PC it prints full colour

i am unable to print in colour only black and white where as my PC prints all day in colour

What does airprint have to do with printing in bw vs in color? The user hasn't even stated which printing method they use.
I watched your video the other week after seeing you post it in a thread where you also suggested to it to be the solution. The video could not have been more off topic and was the biggest waste of anybody's time. So it is completely suspect when you keep injecting your youtube video in several threads.
There's a few things that changed when it comes to printing and scanning in Yosemite.
The first order of business is that users should get the latest driver for their device/printer/scanner. That will get them up and running before they even finished taking notes while watching videos.

On the printer driver documentation, Page 5, in the Imaging setting, although the options are not specifically shown, there should be an option on that screen of the print driver to click and select "B/W" or 'black and white' or 'grayscale' or 'monochrome' as Print Mode rather than the "Full Color" option shown in the illustration below.
You access these settings once you have selected 'Print' from an app.
If necessary, you might need to click on the 'Down arrow' button next to the printer name (OS X 10.6), or 'Show Details' button at the bottom of the print dialog box (OS X 10.8) to see additional settings.
