Printing on Double A4 or Panoramic paper

The spec for my Photosmart Prrmium 309 g says it will print on "Double A4" paper - which is 8.3 inch by 23.4 inch. But I can't figure out any way to do this. The printer driver does not offer this size paper as an option. If I set it up as a custom paper, the printer sends back a paper size error.
Has anybody succeeded with this?

Hi - Not sure which printer you have, but if the paper type is set to "Automatic", try choosing "Plain Paper".  Depending on the printer, this should shut off the paper sensor.

    I can't print a double sided project, I don't know what I am doing wrong.

    If your printer doesn't do two sided printing (most don't) print the odd pages first, then flip the paper over and print the even pages.  You will have to experiment to see how to flip the paper.
    I do it by printing page 1, then flipping page one over and putting it back into the paper tray.
    Then I print pages 2 and 3.
    Remove the the completed page 1 and 2.
    Flip page 3 over and print pages 4 and 5.
    Repeat the process until you are done.

    I can't help with your color proplem -- don't know the printer -- but you can use a script to impose your booklet in a new file, then export that to PDF.
    The two I use are by Dave Saunders. The first, http://pdsassoc.com/downloads/Buildbooklet.zip merely shuffles the pages in a new file. You then export that as spreads. It's very fast and easy, but cannot handle objects that cross the spine.
    The second is at Dave's CS3 Booklet Script and works by placing pages into a new spread-size document. This one does do cross-spine objects, but neither one handles creep. It's been awhile since I used either, but I think bleeds may be an issue for the second script, too.

    I need to print on the back of some photos I have. I am using an HP Officejet Pro 8500A using Windows 7. I have tried to print on these photos but the ink will not dry.
    The paper I am using is 4x6 glossy everyday photo paper. 
    What should I change in the settings to get the ink to dry????

    Hi,
    most of the Photo Paper will only allow you to print on a single side.
    Unless the used Photo Paper is intended for double side printing you will not be able to print on the back of the paper.
    There are no different settings for any of the sided, it only depand on the used media.

  • HP LaserJet 1200  in the network does not print in double-side mode

    I have HP LaserJet 1200, connected via USB cable to the PC (Windows XP SP3). I have connected this printer via LAN to my PowerBook G4 - and from my PowerBook G4 i cannot use doube-side mode of printing! All sheets that leave the printers are printed on one side only - the "Duplex" setting by these clients is just ignored.
    I check out the option "Doube-sided printing" ("Двусторонняя печать"), but this printer prints only on one side of paper, instead of two. I tried HP drivers 1.1 and 1.1.1 and even "CUPS+Gutenprint v5.2.0 beta 4" drivers. The same problem...

    Manual, not hardware!, double-side printing works as follows: press Option-P, checkbox on "Double side printing" ("Двусторонняя печать" in russian), OK. Printer prints odd pages on one side and then lights the LED. Further printer waits. Then we must reload (without any flipping!!!) these pages in main tray AND THEN WE MUST PRESS THIS GREEN LIGHTING LED on the printer! Furthermore, our great HP LaserJet 1200 will prints the other even-numbered pages!
    It works very well in our LAN - from all XP/Vista PC's, when we print on this XP-connected HP LaserJet 1200 - everything is fine. But not from Mac.
    But when we print from Mac on this XP-connected printer - double-side option is totally ignored. Printer just prints immediately all pages on one side without any pause, lighting LEDs, etc...

    In the Print dialog box, click Print Settings and verify the Paper Size you chose. This is important because the 3880 has three paper feeds (auto sheet feeder, rear manual feed, front manual feed). And for each major paper size you have to choose not only the size but also the correct feed. For example, if you want US Letter, choose US Letter, notice that this menu expands to five more US Letter paper size options, and choose the specific US Letter paper feed you want.
    If there is a mismatch between the paper size + feed combination you picked and the feed where the paper actually is, you can get the error that you're seeing. Because the Epson printer driver will look for the paper in a feed where there isn't any paper.
    So if you've added US Letter paper to the automatic paper tray, in Paper Size double-check that you chose the US Letter submenu command that says just US Letter, not one of the other options like US Letter (Manual - Front).

    What tells you?
    What drop down menu?
    What printer are you using?
    Does your printer support duplexing? If it doesn't you will have to print one side and feed the paper back into the printer to print the 2nd side.
    Why are you printing to US letter if you are in the UK?

    I can help you disable the duplex printing feature. I suggest resetting the printing system to delete all printer presets. I suspect something was saved at some point that is causing the printer to print 2 sided.

  • Printing multiple double-sided Word documents results wrong side being used

    When printing from MS Word (Office 2004 11.2.5) several Word documents in rapid succession (so the first has not finished by the time the second has been received by the printer) in double-sided layout (as per the Print Dialog option) and the first document is an odd number of pages then instead of the final page of the first document being printed with stuff just on the first side it actually contains [incorrectly] the first page of the second document on the second side.
    That is -
    Document 1
    1-2 3-4 5-6 7
    Document 2
    1-2 3-4 5-6 7
    end up like
    1-2 3-4 5-6 7-1 2-3 4-5 6-7
    instead of
    1-2 3-4 5-6 7-blank 1-2 3-4 5-6 7-blank
    This happens when printing to both a HP Color LaserJet 4600DN (with built-in duplex unit) and a Konica-Minolta Magicolor 7300 (also with built-in duplex unit).
    The HP Color LaserJet has 160MB of RAM and a hard disk, the Konica-Minolta Magicolor has 256MB of RAM and no hard disk.
    Has anyone else seen this happen and does it happen in other programs (Microsoft being notorious for the number of bugs in Office for Mac they have).

    This sounds odd as each print job would exist as a separate spool file with its own job number. If it wasn't for both machines doing the same I would have said it was the printer. But as you have said Word is a rogue when it comes to printing (and man other things). In order to get the next document printing so quickly after the previous, do you have both documents open? Also, are you using the Print icon in Word, or goinf File > Print? If you are using the icon, then I would suggest trying File > Print (or Command P ) as I have seen some strange results when the icon is used.
    I have also seen the "Collated" option cause unwanted results. Try disabling this in the Copies & Pages menu of the Print Dialog (and maybe saving a Preset with it disabled so it can be defaulted to this).

    Reset the device:
    Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings

    <b>You switch to duplex or tumble duplex mode with a form page for which one of these modes is specified. To continue printing in the current mode, for follow-on pages you must define another page in which the Print mode field is empty. Otherwise, the following pages after the mode switch will continue to be printed only on the front sides of new sheets of paper.
    The reason: When SAPscript sends a page with Print mode D or T to the printer, it not only sets the print mode accordingly. To ensure that the first page in the new mode is correctly output, SAPscript also instructs the printer to output the page on the front side of a sheet. If SAPscript sends a sequence of D or T pages to the printer, the output is printed only on the front side of each sheet.
    You define a first page named FIRST for a form to be printed in duplex mode. You therefore set the Print mode in FIRST to D.
    To make the duplex printing work correctly, you must define a second page FOLLOWER in which Print mode is left empty. In the form definition, you specify FOLLOWER as the follow-on page for FIRST and for itself as well.
    Your text is then printed in duplex mode. FIRST switches the printer to duplex mode and forces printing of the first page on the front side of a new sheet. FOLLOWER accepts the duplex mode and sends no further mode print controls to the printer. The printer therefore alternately prints FOLLOWER pages on the fronts and backs of sheets.</b>
    The print controls that must be defined for a device type depend upon the SAPscript printer driver that is to be used with the device type.

    For some strange reason my LaserJet CP1525nw color does not print on HP glossy laser brochure paper. It smears the color powder and makes lines on the paper. Does anybody know the reason for this?

  • Can't print documents double sided

    I am trying to print documents double sided but I cannot figure out how to do it.
    I have been searching online and have found I need to set the document properties to duplex.
    I have tried doing this; I right click on my document, select "document properties", go to the 'Advanced' tab. I can see "Duplex Mode" set to simplex but it is greyed out and I cannot change this.
    I find it unbelievable that I can't just print a document double sided - it's taken me half an hour to try and figure out how to do what should be a 20 second job.
    I am running Adobe Reader 11.0.09 on Windows 8.1 pro.

    There is no duplex option in the print dialog. From what I've read online the document prints as simplex or duplex depending on what the document properties are and they can't be set in the print dialog.
    If this is wrong and there is a way to select duplex from print dialog then I'd be happy to know about it - but all the information out there says even on versions where it is possible to set duplex in the print dialog the document properties override the printer settings.
    Like I said I haven't tried it because there is no option there. The only duplex setting I can find is in the document properties which I can't change.
