Printing on HP OfficeJet 8500 Wireless

I want to print on my HP OfficeJet 8500 Wireless printer from an ipad2.  I just took the latest upgrade for my printer from HP.  My ipad2 will not find my printer on our wireless sytem.  Ihave Blue Tooth activated onmy ipad.  When I try to print from my ipad, I press "Select Printer" and it ends up not finding any available printers wirelessly.  I have wireless conectivity with my laptop so I know wireless is working.
I spent a long time on the phone with ipad support.  They told me that my printer seems to be compatible and that my printer should show up so it can be paired with the computer.
So my questions are, does the HP OfficeJet 8500 have Blue Tooth?  Is my printer really compatible with an ipad2?
Any suggestions?
Thank you.
David

Hi,
Firstly please check to see if your printer in the list:
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4356
If YES, you can use this to fix/setup:
iPad: http://www.apple.com/support/ipad/assistant/airprint/
iPhone: http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/assistant/airprint/
If NO you have to print using other apps (if applicable) such as
   http://itunes.apple.com/au/app/hp-eprint/id299531647?mt=8

  • HT4356 Can I air print from hp officejet 8500 wireless to ipad2?

Do I need to download an app for air printing from wireless hp 8500 printer to ipad 2?

The 8500 models that support AirPrint are :
    HP Officejet Pro 8500A e-All-In-One A910a
    HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus e-All-In-One A910g
    HP Officejet Pro 8500A Premium e-All-In-One A910g
If it's not one those then yes, you will need an app. HP have their ePrint app which might support it, otherwise there are third-party printer apps such as Print Central For iPad and Print n Share which might work with it.

  • Duplex printing failing on Officejet 8500 Wireless

When I print a doucment in MS Word 2010  and ask it to print on both sides it prints page 1 on 1st page.  BUT prints page 2 on the second sheet first sides.  So the sequence goes 1st sheet (page 1 & blank).  2nd Sheet (page 2 & 3) etc...  My full software and driver is 14.0.301.0 and running on Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.  It has only just started to do this and didn't used to have this problem.  As far as I can see when I print from Adobe for instance it doesnt make this mistake!

Sounds to me like it is set up in a way to print off a paper, where the first page is a cover page and wouldn't have anything on the back.
I tried looking around the settings myself, but didn't find a whole lot. There is one thing that you might want to try though.
Go to File > Options > Advanced.
If you scroll down a little bit, you will see "print".
I would recommend playing with the two options "print on front of the sheet for duplex printing" and "print on back of the sheet for duplex printing."
I hope that helps some. Let me know if it works. If not, I'll see if I can find anything else that might be causing this issue.
    Best of luck,
    Kyle

  • HP Officejet 8500 wireless A909g all-in-one printer

Just some information for those who have HP Officejet 8500 wireless A909g all-in-one printer.  I purchased one in June, 2010.   The yellow cartridge was empty as of Dec. 20, so I replaced it with a brand new genuine HP yellow cartridge.  The result was a sort of dull, dirty-looking yellow mustard color.  I called HP tech support, and was advised to remove and clean all the ink cartridges and printheads, replace them in the printer, and print a document.  The problem was not corrected.
I was then asked to remove the printheads and replace them with the new HP printheads that I had purchased after buying the printer, for backup.  This corrected the problem 100%.  Since this happened before the expiration dates for the printheads, HP is shipping me, at no charge, brand new printheads.   I commented that I've used HP color printers for 12 yrs., & never had to replace printheads within a 6-month period.  I was advised that this seems to be a problem with all of the 8500 models.  The tech support was excellent, and very courteously supplied by a very experienced technician.

I, too have used HP printers only for 12 years and had nothing but the best in tech sppt. Thinking along those lines, I purchased an HP laptop. Worst experience of my life!!! There is nothing in the way of cust. svc even tho the warranty is 4 yrs. Don't know if I will continue to purchase HP printers, but most certainly will NOT ever purchase another laptop. May leave HP altogether after my last experience. I had an issue with the MB. Notified them and they wanted me to send it back. I could but only if I were allowed to remove the harddrive and RAM because I have approximately 47 clients' ledgers on my system. Was told that would void my warranty and also was told I could NOT take it to a local HP facility. Was never told why. I'm an IT graduate with certs in many areas. Was told I could not repair it myself. Still cannot understand that. Purchased an Acer and have had no issues so far. I'm still very bitter and probably will not get over it. I had a local business that I consult with ask me what products (printers, laptops and servers) I would recommend. They were looking at quite a few HP devices. I had to advise against those because of my experience and explained that to my client. That may have cost HP between 15 and $20,000. They should be very careful how they treat their customers. It could come back to bite them as it did with the client I spoke with. Just because a customer is just 1 person with a very small footprint, doesn't mean you can treat them this way.

    Hi,
From the Desktop, hold down the Windows key and press R.  Into the Run window, type services.msc and hit enter.  Browse down to the print spooler service, right click it and select Properties then click on the Stop button.  Now browse to C:\Windows\System32\Spool\PRINTERS and delete the job inside this folder - You may need to click a prompt to gain the appropriate authority to open the PRINTERS folder.
Restart the computer and you should find the document(s) have been removed.

  • Officejet 8500 wireless (no print)

I just went wireless and I'm unable to print to my 8500A.  I believe I have everything configured correctly.

I am sorry to hear your having a prblem with your HP 8500 Printer.   so you are switching for the printer to be Wireless. What was it before (i.e. Ethernet, usb)?  What kind of operating system do you have (windows 7, etc)
Please download and run the following programs
HPPDU - This will see if the software thinks the printer is connected or if any of the software is having any issues
HPNDU - This will show you if the printer is seen on your by the computer on the network
IF you run the HPNDU and the pritner isnt seen (however, confirmed that you are connected to the same network by looking at the SSID. Please do the following on your router
    1) G Mode only
    2) Mix Mode disabled
    3) MAC filtering OFF
    4) WPA2 Personal

  • OfficeJet 8500 Wireless scans but will not print

    Hi,
Please forgive the urgency, but we are homeschoolers who depend on this printer working...
I was unable to find an answer to our issue...
We lost printing, the printer test works fine, and sees the network.
The network works fine, but does not see the printer... so I hard wired printer to router.
Now I am able to scan in photoshop with no problem, but can not print anything.
Please I am at a tremendous loss, if you could help would be a blessing!
    Thanks in advance,
    Fred

  • Printing with HP Officejet 6500 /wireless

I have put new ink cartridges in but my printer won't print still - do I have to do something with a toner? I have never done that before.

Did you set up your printer to work with your distinctive ring pattern?
    From the User Manual:
Many phone companies offer a distinctive ring feature that allows you to have several phone numbers on one phone line. When you subscribe to this service, each number is assigned a different ring pattern. You can set up the device to answer incoming calls that have a specific ring pattern.
If you connect the device to a line with distinctive ring, have your telephone company assign one ring pattern to voice calls and another ring pattern to fax calls. HP recommends that you request double or triple rings for a fax number. When the device detects the specified ring pattern, it answers the call and receives the fax.
If you do not have a distinctive ring service, use the default ring pattern, which is All Rings.
NOTE: The HP fax cannot receive faxes when the main phone number is off the hook.
To change the answer ring pattern for distinctive ring via the device control panel
    1. Verify that the device is set to answer fax calls automatically.
    2. Press Setup.
    3. Press Advanced Fax Setup, and then press Distinctive Ring.
    4. Press the right arrow button to select an option, and then press OK. When the phone rings with the ring pattern assigned to your fax line, the device answers the call and receives the fax.
To change the answer ring pattern for distinctive ring via the embedded Web server
    1. Click the Settings tab, click Advanced Fax Setup in the left pane.
    2. Select a ring pattern in the Distinctive Ring drop-down menu, and then click the Apply button

  • Printing problem - HP Officejet Pro 8500 Wireless All-in-One Printer, Red color fads on 4th copy

I have an HP HP Officejet Pro 8500 Wireless All-in-One Printer, and am trying to print 75 copies of a program for our event. After the first 5-6 pages the RED in my program starts to turn magenta. I have brand new HP ink, and am printing on HP Color Injet Paper. I have renectly replaced the Black/Yellow printhead (at least 6 months ago). At first when I cleaned the printheads, I could print 2 or 3 pages showing my RED color. Then turns back to magenta. When I received the test patterns after cleaning the print heads they are all perfect with no lines.
What is going on and how can I fix it?
    This question was solved.

    Hi TM1997,
I understand you have an Officejet 8500 Wireless that is not printing red properly, it keeps turning to magenta. I'm sorry to hear this, but I will definitely do my best to help you!
As I'm sure you saw, when replacing the black and yellow printhead, that there are two printheads in the Officejet 8500 and the second one controls the magenta and cyan. I would suggest that you first have a look through this Troubleshooting Print Quality Issues document. You can also manually clean your printhead with the steps in this 'The Following Printhead Appears to be Missing or Damaged' or 'The Following Printhead has a Problem... document.
Hope this helps, have a great day!!

  • Officejet Pro 8500 Wireless All-in-One Printer - A909g printhead

The printer has not been 100% for a few weeks. It would align the printhead fine. When printing, it didn't always print everything - one time blues would be missing, another black would be missing. Received a message saying the ink was out of date. Picked up new ink yesterday, installed it and the printer went thru it's normal routine - cleaning and aligning. It would print the page which was not good and then realign again.
I read up on how to change the printheads. Problem is the printheads are stuck over to the right. I have pressed the * button and done anything else I could find. What do I do now?
    Carol Belles

    Hey @carolinva,
I understand that you're having print quality printhead related issues on your HP Officejet 8500 Wireless All-in-One Printer. I would like to work with you today in resolving the issue of not being able to remove your Printheads. Now I understand that you have already tried new cartridges and run the cleaning and aligning on the product to no avail. At this point you have determined that the printheads are defective.
Just so you are aware there are two printheads in your product. There is a Black and Yellow Printhead and a Cyan and Magenta Printhead. Because your quality issue is affecting blues and blacks than both printheads may be defective. The printheads run for about $64.99 a piece plus tax in the United States. Also, there is a chance that you could replace both printheads and the issue not be resolved because it's a hardware failure of your ink system. Therefore, the next step would be to replace the printer. New printers do not use the same ink systems as your Officejet 8500 printer so the Printheads would do you no good if you have to replace your product.
Part Number for HP 940 Black and Yellow Printhead: C4900a
Part Number for HP 940 Magenta and Cyan Printhead: C4901a
I'm going to provide you steps on how to properly remove the printheads in your product. Because your printheads failed to initially move to the left I'm going to have you start by running a power reset.
    Step 1: Power Reset:
With your printer powered on, disconnect your power cable.
After 30 seconds, plug your power cable back in to the printer.
Your printer should turn on automatically.
Once the printer returns to the ready state, follow the steps below.
Replacing the Printhead for HP Officejet Pro 8500 All-in-One Printer Series (A909)
Please let me know if the steps provided resolve your issue. Should you have further issues be sure to let me know. Good luck!

  • HP Officejet Pro 8500 Wireless that has stopped being recognized as powered on

I have an HP Officejet Pro 8500 Wireless that has stopped printing.  Troubleshooter identifies that the printer is not powered on, when indeed it actually is powered on.  I have tried unplugging the printer and resetting the network information as well as rebooting my computer all to no avail.  The printer is being recognized by the network without any issues, just for some reason it doesn't think it is powered up.  I very much appreciate and thank you in advance for any information and advice.

Hello there! Welcome to the forums @margarethpayne
I read about the scanning troubles you are running into with your Officejet 8500 Wireless, on 10.6.8. I have some ideas that could help.
    In order, try this:
Mac OS X: How to reset the printing system
    Repair disk permissions
    Restart the Mac
Re-add the printer, this is the direct link for you: HP Officejet Pro Full feature Software and Drivers - Mac OS X v10.6
    Try scanning again now.

    Hi,
Your printer is not in the list therefore no AirPrint available. Your printer does not support ePrint therefore you can use Home & Biz apps. Have you downloaded apps to your iPad yet ? If yes, please try:
Pressing the iPad home button two times (a list of currently running apps should appear at the bottom of the screen).
Press and hold the HP ePrint Home & Biz app until it starts to move around.
Press the red 'X' on the app to end its process.
    Press the iPad home button.
