  • Can't print from my mac to my HP Colour Laserjet 1600

I have a HP Colour Laserjet 1600. Whenever I print anything from my mac, a icon appears in the dock but, disappears after about 5 seconds and nothing gets printed. Can someone please tell me what I can do?

The third party HPIJS drivers do not support the LaserJet 1600 on a Mac.  You can view the list of printers that are supported by the HPIJS drivers at http://www.linuxfoundation.org/collaborate/workgroups/openprinting/macosx/hpijs# Printers.
There are third party drivers that do support the LaserJet 1600, but there are no Mac installer packages available for them.  You would have to compile them from source code.  These foo2hp drivers can be found at http://foo2hp.rkkda.com/.

  • Spool area full on Mac 10.6.6 with LaserJet CM1415

I am longer able to print to my LaserJet CM1415.  I presume that is because of the error message saying "Spool Area Full".  I tried deleting the printer, and adding it back again, but this did not have any effect (I still get the "Spool Area Full" message).  Any ideas how to resolve this issue?

Have y'all reset the printing system?:
    - Sys Prefs, Print & Fax
    - Right (control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - this will delete ALL of your printers!
    - Select the plus sign to re-add it. Look for the printer, select it and wait until the "Add" button becomes available. Click it.

    Hi
I have a problem with color prints from photoshop elements 12. The pictures are too light and with strange colors. I have a Canon pixma mg615I0 printer and use mac os X yosemite. The pictures are taken with a coanon eos 550d in the color space sRGB. I have followed adobes recommendations and have tried both letting the printer respektive photoshop manage the colors. But nothing works. I see that there are different opinions about which is best to do so I tried both. I have the latest printer driver installed. Can anyone help me with this?

    Do the following:
Print a test page from the printer. Perhaps the print head needs cleaning via its maintenance facility.
Let the printer manage colors, not PSE
    Calibrate the monitor

  • I can't connect OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 version with Canon LBP2900 Printer, Please help how to connect...

    Hi.... Apple Support Communities...
I used Apple MacBook Air 2014 (13 inch) series with OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 version...
And I have a printer of Canon LBP2900...
My problem is that, I can't connect my Canon LBP2900 printer with my new OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 version.
My previous OS X Mavericks is working well with my Canon LBP2900 printer...
But when I upgrade it to OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 version, my printer is not working...
Anybody please help me how can i connect OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 version with my Canon LBP2900 printer....
Thanking you.... Your suggestion in this regards is highly appriciate...

Your first step would be to upgrade to Snow Leopard (10.6). To do that, you would need to purchase the Snow Leopard DVD. Following that you could determine how much further you could upgrade.

  • I am trying to connect a Windows 7 / 64 bit to an Epson printer on my Mac.  The printer is hooked into the Mac via USB; the Mac is networked to a Linksys wireless router with an ethernet cable, as is the Windows box. Any tips on how to do this?

I am trying to connect a Windows 7 / 64 bit to an Epson printer on my Mac.  The printer is hooked into the Mac via USB; the Mac is networked to a Linksys wireless router with an ethernet cable, as is the Windows box. I installed the current Bonjour printer services software on the Windows machine, and separately installed the driver software for the Epson printer on the WIndows machine.  Running the bonjour wizard, I get an alert saying 'I don't have sufficient access to my computer to connect to the selected printer'.
The printer has 'sharing' turned on from the Mac end; this works with a Powerbook via the wireless connection.  Sharing is also turned on in the Windows printer control panel for this printer (under properties).  The Mac is a G5 running 10.5.8.  When I try to print a page from the Windows machine it gets hung in the print queue.
Any advice how to proceed would be appreciated!

  • Is the Dell 3115CN compatible with a Macbook Pro running Mountain Lion? If so, how can I install the drivers and install the printer on my mac?

I hace a Macbook Pro running Mountain Lion OS.... I need to print from time to time but don't have a new printer to go with my new macbook. Would a 3115CN work with it or no? If so, how can I set it up? Setting up a printer on a mac is a bit different from doing so on a windows machine and I am new to the macworld.
All help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes. I'm running this printer from 10.6 through 10.9 and it's worked fine with all versions. Dell released updated drivers a while ago that make it much easier to administer this printer.

  • I have an HP Laserjet 5m monochrome printer that I have used for years with our three Mac computers

    HP Laserjet 5m monochrome printer C3917A (1997)
    Operating system: OSX 10.7.4
    Error message: Printer busy
No known changes made to system or configuration
I have an HP Laserjet 5m monochrome printer that I have used for years with our three Mac computers (two on OS X Lion and one on  Leopard). I'm using ethernet to connect to a router and then my computer (although I have also tried to connect directly to no avail.) We went away for 2 weeks, returned and got “Printer busy” for all 3 computers. I reset the printer to factory settings. Same problem. By the way, the printer says READY. I then went to System prefs and clicked ‘–‘ in the Print & Scan section to remove the printer. When I tried to add back the printer, nothing shows up. I now remember that this may be because the means of communicating with the printer has now changed and that I had found the printer by somehow adding its address settings (or something). Can anyone help me to reconnect with the printer?

  • How do i reformat my hard drive on mac mini late 2011 with yosemite before selling my mac

how do i reformat my hard drive on mac mini late 2011 with yosemite before selling my mac

You can't legally sell or give away that computer with Yosemite installed.
Before you sell or give away your computer, in addition to the steps listed in this support article, take these steps:
    1. Run Apple Diagnostics or the Apple Hardware Test. The buyer will do this (or he should), and you don't want to be surprised by the results.
    2. Reset the PRAM and the SMC, which might contain personal information.
    3. If you set a firmware password, remove it by running Firmware Password Utility in Recovery mode.
    4. If you activated FileVault in OS X 10.7 or later, turn it off.
    5. If you use Boot Camp, the partition must be deleted.
    6. If you created any other data partitions on the internal drive, remove them in Disk Utility.
    7. If the machine has an internal hard drive, erase the one remaining data partition with the option to zero out data. An SSD doesn't need to be zeroed.
You can't legally or practically transfer any software downloaded from the Mac App Store to the new owner of the machine, even if it was free. That includes OS X, so if you upgraded to OS X 10.7 or later, you must reinstall an older OS, either from the installation media, if applicable, or by starting up in Internet Recovery mode (option-command-R at the startup chime.) If you installed from physical media, deliver those to the new owner.
If you're selling the machine, or donating it in working order, and it originally shipped with OS X 10.4 or 10.5, then you have the option of installing either from the discs that came with it or from a retail Snow Leopard disc (which you must then transfer to the buyer.) The buyer should understand that if he doesn't get the original discs from you, he won't get the bundled iLife applications or the Apple Hardware Test. Replacements for the original discs can be ordered from Apple.
The new owner will have to redownload any software that came from the App Store, including OS X upgrades, under his or her Apple ID. If you ever updated the bundled iLife applications (Garage Band, iMovie, and iPhoto) through the App Store, you can't transfer those either. The buyer will have to purchase them.
Remove the machine from your list of registered products. If it's still covered by an AppleCare Protection Plan, transfer the coverage to the new owner by following the instructions in the AppleCare Terms and Conditions (under the heading "Transfer of Plan.")

  • Mac os x lion with HP c309a. Printing to cd not supported.  Advice?

I'm runing Mac OS X Lion, v 10.7.2 and I have an HP c309a all-in-one printer.  I'd like to print onto a cd.  The printer was made to do so and has a special insert for the cd.  In previous versions of OS X, it has worked fine.  When I use MS Word or Pages to try to print onto a CD, the option is greyed out and is not selectable.  I reinstalled the HP drivers for Lion from the Apple support site and nothing changed.  Anyone have any thoughts on how to fix this?

I don't have a HP printer so cannot confirm this, but with my Canon printer I need to make a couple of settings for CD/DVD printing. Maybe the HP is also expecting another setting to be set so that the CD printing can be selected.
Another thought is that you may need to use a particular HP software to print to CD's on Lion. Were you able to print from Word or Pages onto CD with the previous version of OS X.

  • Pairing a Mac (OS 10.9) with an HP OFficejet 100 mobile printer

    Hello,
I am running a MacBook Pro with OS 10.9.  I have been successfully using an HP Officejet 100 mobile printer via bluetooth connection until just a few hours ago.  Now, the Mac will not pair with the printer.  When I click the apple logo, go to system preferences, select printer, it will not find the printer.  Nothing has been uninstalled that I am aware.  Can someone please advise me on what to do?  I have powered off both devices and then powered on without success.

    Hi 4stix,
thanks for your suggestions! I managed to pair the printer with my MacBook Pro again by using the security code "000000". Before I never had used the security code. But I still couldn't add the printer to the system preference panel "Printers & Scanners". It simply wouldn't appear in the "Add" window.
Just to make sure it wasn't a Bluetooth issue, I successfully reset the Bluetooth security following your steps. I could pair the printer again, but still I cannot add it as a printer in the Mac OS X system preferences.
When I open the "HP Utility.app" the printer appears there and I can get every kind of status report. I can even print the test page using the button "Print Test Page".
Seems like a Mac OS X Mavericks issue to me. What do you think?
    Edit: To answer your questions:
Did you happen to run any APPLE updates recently? Or between the time that you were/were not able to print? -- Yes, after the last successful printing I installed: iBooks Update, RAW Compatibility Update for Digital Cameras, iTunes, Mail Update for Mavericks. It would be really strange if one of them broke the printer service.
Did you encounter any security or other messaging popup? -- No

  • Print Studio Pro plugin is not compatible with Photoshop Elements 12 Editor for Mac

It appears that the latest version of Print Studio Pro PlugIn is not compatible with the Editor version of Photoshop Elements 12 for Mac as available on the App store.  The install gives an error saying that it did not find a supported version of Photoshop Elements. This error has been reported before for Elements version 12 but was reportedly fixed in the latest version of Print Studio Pro. Now it appears that this version may support Elements 12 for Mac but not the Editor only version from the app store. Any suggestions for work-around on this?

"Any suggestions for work-around on this?"
    No!
Not untill Mac and Adobe and Canon get their collective acts together.  Mac (Apple) has the bad habit of upgrading their stuff and not being forthcoming with the particulars given to 3rd party companies like Canon and Adobe.
Besides the cost difference of Mac's the compatibility issues are it's worst features.

  • When printing two-sided from my Mac on landscape A4 with 2 columns, how can I get my HP Photosmart 6520 to print the same way up?

When printing two-sided from my Mac on landscape A4 with 2 columns, how can I get my HP Photosmart 6520 to print the same way up?

Or, it is set the other way around (which makes more sense). Even though you are in Landscape mode, it is binding on the Long Side of the paper. Since you are in Landscape, you would want it to bind on the short side.
Think of the Binding like a Book. How would you flip the finished pages to read the “book.” Where it would be bound in the imaginary book is how you want it to print.

It depends where the pdf is located. If in the Finder or in an attachment to
an email in Entourage, the message is ³You can¹t open the application
³Acrobat Reader 5.0² because PowerPC applications are no longer supported².
