Printing output incorrect with non Russian fonts

I have tried all the ways with approximate all the device types.
We are getting the correct print preview of spool requests in SAP with Russian Fonts, It means that SAP is doing it work, but the printing output is wrong.
The device types (eg. HPUTF8, HPLJ5, ZPC2424S)  are printing correctly with other Printers like RU03, RU02, RU05 but not with RU07.
We have tried many windows drivers as well which were suggested by SAP.
I have tried the below device types as well which are cyrillic compatible. For these device types print preview is coming fine but not printout.
Cyrillic  |   I5SPOST     | Dfnlatin (note 83502)
SAPWIN5     | Cyrillic, e.g. RU  |    Yes
Below fonts are suitable for a given languages including Russian:.
* ISO 8859-5 (Cyrillic) ************ *******
BG, RU, SR, UK          COURCYR, HELVCYR, TIMECYR
While printing on
RU07  the font should be only above ones not the FC OCRA.   FCTIMECYR 080 00060XSF201SF201410 200040R
FCOCRA 120 00144 SF301SF301400100144 R
Kindly suggest if any particular setting like device type, symbol set, printer driver suitable for this printer to print output correctly.
Regards
Munish

This is normal printer HP laserjet p2055 dn printer.
RU03, RU06, RU07  are sap printer names in ECC system.
SAPSPrint server has names like mospr03, mospr06, mospr07.
SAP is using access method S and pointing to host printer drivers like mospr07 in sapsprint windows server.
It seems that either the printer driver on windows is incorrect in terms of printing from sap or there may be font problem in physical printer.

  • Printer output incorrect/too small after upgrading to VS 2010 Crystal

I have a Windows Form application that was originally written using .net 3.5 and the version of Crystal Reports that came with Visual Studio 2008. When the VS 2010 release of Crystal Reports came out, I upgraded the application to .net 4/VS 2010 and the new Crystal release.
This application prints checks on blank check stock, so alignment of the output has to be very exact to print the checks correctly. It prints the reports using the PrintToPrinter() method of the ReportDocument class.
In the original version of the program, I had everything aligned correctly in the check report. After updating the application to the latest Crystal release, but making no changes to the report itself, I noticed that the alignment of the checks report was incorrect.
After comparing the output, I was able to determine that the new output is slightly shrunk compared to old output, almost as if it is scaling the report in some way.
I opened the report in the new report designer and verified that all page size and margin settings were correct/the same as before, and they were. The printed output is smaller than it should be based on how the report is designed. I tried adjusted the paper size, and also tried the "Dissociate Formatting Page Size and Printer Paper Size" to see if I could somehow adjust for the scaling, but nothing I tried was successful.
Our check printer is a HP LaserJet 5Si. During my investigation into the problem I discovered that if I printed the report to a pdf printer (PDFCreator) the resulting pdf did not have the same scaling/shrinking problem that I get when the report is sent directly to the LaserJet. I also printed a page from the pdf to the LaserJet using Acrobat Reader, and the output was as I expected it to be.
I only seem to be seeing the scaling/shrinking problem when I send the report directly to the LaserJet. Is there some new setting that I'm overlooking that would be applying some sort of report-wide scaling? Any other ideas as to why this is happening?

Looking for HP LaserJet 5Si at the HP website:
    http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/ProductList.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=18972&prodSeriesId=25478&taskId=135
I notice that there are several different types (hm, mx, nx, ...). Also, there are different drivers, depending on the OS.
Ensure that you are using the correct driver (hm, mx, nx, ...) for your printer and for your OS and that the driver has the latest updates from HP.

  • Printing Output incorrect

Hi Gurus, The end user have problem printing the EPF calculation for the employee.
The EPF report is showing different amount on the screen and on the print out. For Example ; On the screen is showing $11.30 but when we print out it appear as $11.20. The different amount appear only when you printing the hardcopy. So the printing Output is incorrect. What can i do to resolve this problem. Or is this BASIS issue or something to do with the ABAB program. Please suggest. Thank you.

That sounds very weird... the first thing i'll check will be if theres any authorization issues (I seen these before where someone has no access for a specific cost center for example)... if that doesn't resolve your issue, you might have to debug the report

User is trying to print a PDF from Portal system and the print output comes with the logo cut at the top on the right handside and footer cut at the bottom
Please can you let me know what could be the issue and how to investigate the issue
    Regards,

    Hi Nick,
The user has reverted back that the print is working fine when you print word documents or other systems
The user is trying to give print from the Portal system and says that
"it is not possible in e-Recruiting to choose a printer like it can be done in a SAP backend system. E-Recruiting is a web based application and with any correspondence scenarios which allows print outs there is only a button "print". Clicking on that button the e-Recruiting system is triggered to print the requested document on the network printer of the users. This process happens blind in the background and there is absolutely no user interaction (like choosing layout options, choosing printer, changing properties etc.) necessary or possible"
Also for your information print privew is getting dispalyed correctly
Please can you help us as the logo and footer is still cut, also please can you let me know if you require more information
    Thanks and regards,

  • Fix non-embedded fonts for USPTO filing

    Hi,
The United States Patent and Trademark Office does not allow submission of PDF files with non-embedded fonts.
I know how to create documents from Word, etc. that comply with this requirement, but I frequently get PDFs from other sources that do not have  all their fonts embedded, especially the asian fonts.
I know that one possible fix is to print the existing PDF as a PDF image.  However, when I do this my file size becomes MUCH larger than the original.  Re-printing to PDF seems like a very kludgy fix.  Another very iffy fix I've used for large PDFs is to print the PDF document on paper and just scan it with our office scanner, which will keep the file size small but is a waste of time and paper.
Is there no better way to deal with the issue of non-embedded fonts?

Need Acrobat 9 Pro or Pro Extended -
    Advanced > Preflight
In the Preflight dialog, open the "Options" drop-down menu and select "Create New Preflight Profile".
Give the new profile a name & save it.
In the dialog, at the left you'll see your new profile.
Locate and click on "Fixups" (2nd from bottom).
Over to the right, over the listing of fixups that appears, there is a find/search field.
Enter "embed" (the first three letters will do).
    Two fixups are available.
    --| Embed Fonts
--| Embed Fonts (even if text is invisible)
Select one. Under the fixup list there is an arrow pointed to the left. Click it. The center pane will display the selected fixup.
    Click Save then OK.
The profile is available for use.
A Batch Sequence could be made that uses this Preflight profile to permit processing many PDFs at "one go".
[If you do not want to DIY, then use the "out of the box" profile located in the PDF fixups Group.
    Both "Embed" profiles are there.]
    Be well...

  • Randomly printed output is garbled with non-human characters and symbols

When printing from what we believe to be a pdf display, often, but randomly, the printed output is garbled. This may be the second and subsequent pages, only one page, the first one, etc. This happens often, but not exclusively, when printing from a bank generated pdf on their website but also occures on documents opened/created on our machine locally. I will try to attach a sample page using your 'link' symbole above: can't attach a scanned document (pdf) from my system (now why would I have thought this would be the case?.....) Can anyone help me get this document attached to this email?.......Okay! I've jumped through every hoop and there is no way to 'attach' a scanned document from my computer - are you people real or is this a nightmare? Totally unfunctional.
If anyone (human) gets this please contact me at [email protected] or my cell 480-235-1868, and thank you for trying. I am wasting paper and ink by the dozens of dollars every week on this problem, so any help would be appreciated. bill matney

For others who might have the same problem. You can solve it by quoting the device name and/or printer name.
    !p """BÆR""" * """\\print\bærum""/q" * 50 *
This, however, causes the printer name to be '"BÆR"' with the double quotes included in the name. Thus, the job card must contain the unfortunate tripple quotes as well: -z"""BÆR""".

  • Example font subset with non-unicode output

    Hi,
I am searching for an example to use a TTF Font as font subset in PDF but without UTF16 encoding.
    Is this even possible?
    Something similar to
    7 0 obj
    <</Type /Font /Subtype /Type0 /BaseFont /AAAAAD+Arial/Encoding /Identity-H /DescendantFonts [9 0 R] /ToUnicode 8 0 R >>
    9 0 obj
    <</Type /Font /Subtype /CIDFontType2 /BaseFont /AAAAAD+Arial /CIDSystemInfo << /Registry (Adobe) /Ordering (Identity) /Supplement 0 >> /FontDescriptor 11 0 R /W [...
But how does the rest should look like?
    Thank you in advanced

No, this is proceeding from wrong assumptions.
For all single byte fonts, EVERY PDF contruction deals with 256 values, range 0 to 255.
Let's look at what you say. You mention two Unicode values, and you continue to think that Unicode has some importance or meaning in PDF. No, it doesn't. Perhaps your characters are U+0021 and U+FEFC but the PDF does not care, and nor should you (when writing the PDF). I emphasise: if you are thinking "I will put this Unicode value somewhere in the PDF" and you are dealing with page streams/fonts, you are almost certainly not following the spec.
For a single byte font the mapping from the arbitrary codes in the PDF to the internal font structures has one and only one variable: the Encoding value. The Encoding value, if present (and the situations in which it can be omitted are specific and exact), is a shorthand representation for something which will always be an array of 256 names.
Since TrueType fonts don't contain names, the interpretation of this is complicated for embedded TrueType, and you must take care to follow exactly what the spec says. Other things MAY SOMETIMES WORK without being valid, but will probably fail in different software, so stick to the spec exactly.
There is no substitute for endless, deep and repetitive study of the PDF Reference. It will help if you can phrase your future questions in terms of "what does it mean in the specification when it says...". That will help keep you focussed. I have been working with the PDF specification for many, many years and I have found that whenever I assume anything, I am almost always wrong. Read the spec first, second and last.
FInally, don't be discouraged if you find this hard. Font embedding IS one of the very hardest things to master about PDFs, easily adding an order of magnitude of complexity to any project.

  • Problem with Non-English Fields Output to PDF by JASPER in JDev10.1.3

I am using jsprx files(designed in i-report) to generate pdf reports out of an oracle database.
The non-English fields are shown correctly when I output the report into an HTML or when I view it with JasperView.
If I try making PDF files (JasperExportManager.exportReportToPdfFile) the static fields containing e.g.Arabic/Chineese characters won't be displayed and dynamic fields from the database with non-English contents will be shown as ??? or null.
I received some suggestions about using PARAMETERS to feed the report instead of FIELDS, which I think can not be helpful in this case and in general.
I think this should be a common problem. These are the components I am using:

  • Can't print PDF file with "Technical" font

Having a problem here. Any PDF file I get that includes the font "Technical" will not print on my HP laserjet. It displays perfectly, but won't print at all. I do have "Technical.ttf" and "Technical_Italic.ttf" in Library->Fonts folder, and they show up as installed in Font Book under both "All Fonts" and "Computer." No font conflict shows. Anyone have any ideas what the problem could be? Thanks!

First of all, you should check the font with Font Book to see that it is not damaged. Also, try printing a document which is not a pdf using that font. Then try printing the pdf with both Preview and Adobe Reader, with both the normal and print as image options for the latter. (I am trying to cover all possibilities here, but you did not include much information about what you tried and how it did not work.)

I admit it - not all characters are perfect. But this is the first version and author promised to repair it soon. • Fonts won't print or preview with the book

I've ordered some books that had text on the pages, when I got them back from apple, the font didn't print. I kept the default font in the settings and can't figure out why it didn't print. (usually the font is Helvetica Neuv) When I try to preview the book it will only preview page 1 and 2. I feel like an idiot but can't seem to figure this out.
To print/preview the book I highlight the book on the left of the screen, go to print, then hit preview. The book assembles and still only get page 1 & 2. Any help on both questions would be appreciated.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB file backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
