Printing Partial E-mail Messages

With Tiger Mail, I loved being able to print just part of an e-mail message while in Mail. I seem to recall that this involved simply highlighting the section of the message I wanted and then entering the print dialog with apple+P. (This is similar to what Mail still seems to do with replying to messages: highlight just what you want in your e-mail reply, then hit apple+R.)
This doesn't seem to be working with Leopard Mail, as far as I can tell. Right now, for instance, I want to print out just two paragraphs of a four-page e-mail but simply selecting the paragraphs and hitting apple+P doesn't work: the dialog box pops up with 4 pages ready to print. (And, yes, I know how to choose only some of the pages to print; what I'm after here is the ability to print just a paragraph or just a sentence if I want to.)
Did I completely imagine that this printing capability existed before but is now gone? Is there another shortcut or preference I need to choose? Thanks for any input.

Hmm, I'm positive I haven't completely dreamed this, though. Could it possibly be a Thunderbird or Entourage feature that I'm remembering? (I've used both at work but have decided to be loyal to Mail.) Does anyone else know what I'm talking about? If Mail doesn't have this feature, it definitely should!

  • How do I print hundreds of mail messages at once?

I would like to print a huge archive of mail messages. Is there a way to do this without going through it one at a time?

I have tried this a few times as I wanted to archive some mail to a PDF file.  I select a group on mail message and then select print.  It only shows one of the messages being ready to print.  Because it only showed one file, I presumed that it would only prin the one file.
Based on your response, I went ahead and tried the print to PDF. It created a separate PDF file for each mail item.  I then selected all of the PDF files, opened them with preview and did a second print which comned them all into one file.
Thanks for your comment.  As you say, it does print groups of mail items. It is just not obvious that it is going to do it.

  • Why can I no longer print an e-mail message in Safari-it deletes the left hand portion of the window

Since updating Safari I can no longer print an entire e-mail message. It does not print the left portion of the content of the window.

Open System Preferences > Print & Scan > Print > Open Print Queue
Delete all files to be printed.
Restart your Mac and try printing the email.
If that didn't help, empty the Safari cache. Command + Option + E
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that didn't help, might be corrupted printing preferences.
Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following:
    ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.print.PrintingPrefs.plist
Click Go then move the com.apple.print.PrintingPrefs.plist file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari and try again.

  • Attachments present in an E mail message do not appear when printing

I was trying to print an E mail message containing an attachment which was needed to be shown, but only space is seen instead of the attachment. It is also not shown in the print preview. It is like Firefox doesn't read the attachment. Everything else is printed just fine.

I too have this issue, I don't have this issue in IE. I am using firefox 5.0

  • Printing all Mail Messages

Back-up drive is failing, would like to print all 1400 mail messages, Nothing related in search. How does one print the whole inbox at once.
    Thanks,

Select all of the message and choose File > Print. Mail will appear like it will only print one of the message, when in fact it will print all of them.

  • E-mail messages print font too small display font too big

I recently upgraded to OSX 10.4.9 and tried to print an e-mail message.
The message printed in microscopic sized font and I followed the suggestions on the HELP section about increasing font size.
With display font set at 24 the printed message is just barely readable. However, this is unacceptable for display purposes and actually still too small for printed copies of the message.
I connect to an Epson CX4600 printer as a network device on my Apple AirPort Extreme card.
What can I do to print acceptable copies and not have to tinker with the display font every time I want to print?
iMac   Mac OS X (10.4.9)   Printer Epson 4600

I tried all the options in Help File in Mail Printing Email Messages
Options were "keep the same apparentfont size" didn't change a thing.
Scale message to fit = result was smaller size font,
Rewrap message to fit, didn't change a thing.
I still can't print out a readable copy of the email.
This particular Email wouldn't even copy correctly into Word so that I could adjust it there, it kept getting cut off and I changing the margin tabs didn't help either.

  • How Do I Automatically Print Incoming Mail Message

I would like to automatically print selected incoming mail messages. How do I set that up?
    Mail 2.0.7
    OS X 10.4.6
    Thanks

Well, I was going to suggest using a mail rule.  If you have already tried that I would think that the rule you have created didn't match the messages.  I think if you still need help, you will probably need to post some more information about the type of messages you are receiving and the rules you have tried, then someone may be able to assist.
There are many guides to using rules in Apple Mail, I'm assuming you are familiar with them, but if not, Googling "apple mail rules" will bring up some examples.
    Hope that helps.

  • Why can't I print just a selection of an Apple Mail message?

I have a MacBook running OS 10.5.8 (with the latest updates). My preferred browser is Firefox 15.0.1. I have always been able to print just a selection of a document, and I can do so in Microsoft Word, Google Mail, everything, it seems except Apple Mail. I have a little HP inkjet printer and a new Brother laser printer (HL-5470DW). I've searched their Help menus and manuals, as well as the Help menu for Mac and have found nothing about printing selections of Apple Mail messages. Is there a way to do that? Or do I have to copy the selection into a different document, like one in Microsoft Word for Mac? Or Google Mail? I prefer not to do that last option. The formatting choices are not the greatest.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks BDAqua. It seems so silly that it's so easy in other contexts, but it's good not to keep on trying something futile
    Best,
    Jenny

  • Can I print a Mail message without multiple recipient names?

Is there a way to print a Mail message without having also to print the dozens of recipients, where that's the case? I can't see an obvious way, but I'm sure I used to be able to do this. I'd be grateful if anyone knows how.

    HI,
Go here and download this utility. Print Selection 1.1
"You can select text and graphics in any cocoa application (safari, mail.app, etc.), go to the services menu and go to "Print Selection" and the selected stuff will be printed."

  • Text wrapping in Mail and print of grahics in messages

I have seen a number of questions from users asking about how to make text wrap in MAIL - but so far I have not observed any answers!
Is there a way to make text in incomming messages wrap - so the window not becomes 50 cm wide?
I do not know why this seems to happen with some mails from certain people.
Also, I have experienced that some embedded graphics (e.g. Airline tickets) does not print from MAIL messages. Does anyone have a solution on that? I can seen them in the message, but they will not print properly. (I then make a screen dump - but that's a kind of strange solution)
    Thanks to everyone for support

Hope that the SNOW leopard solves this, and gets the option to connect to Exchange servers.

  • Mountain Lion Mail cant print or save multiple messages???

The question is not a question because I already know.....
Mountain Lion Mail obviously cant print or save multiple messages !
There are multiple threads about that, but I couldnt find any solution :
I want to export a full folder of mails (emlx) to single PDFs
and I want to have the Images displayed ! (Lion Mail could do that!)
saving as RTF just shows a link and not the image if it is just a linked image
and saving multiple mails doesnt work anyway. same for printing (and save as pdf)
did anybody run into this... maybe find another solution?
automator doesnt really help on this, too, and i dind find any tool.
word opens emlx files, but the image is displayed just as a 1x1cm thumb
    that is really annoying !

I restarted the iMac and now it seems to allow this operation - so I consider this problem resolved for now.

  • Printing Mail message page numbers

Wehn I print a multiple page message that I have received, the pages are not numbered.
How do I tell the printer to put page numbers on the message?

Since Mail (nor any other mail program I've ever used
or heard of) has this feature, you can't get page
    numbers on your email.
I beg to differ. Eudora prints page numbers and summarizes who the mail is from on each page. This is a desireable feature.
If you don't want to print mail that is your privilege, those of us who do want to print would like to have the option to see page numbers.
Eudora also gives you the option of displaying the local time when a message was sent, not only the time you download it.

If you haven't done so already, try resetting the printing system.

  • I'm having trouble printing Mail messages

I have just started having trouble printing my Mail messages. When I print through the Mail program, only the header (to/ from emails, date received, subject, etc) print out. This seems to be happening only with Gmail messages, but I can't be sure. I think it's new, and I haven't noticed any Mail software updates - then again, I usually just let all of the updates come through so it's possible something changed without me really noticing it.
Any suggestions other than copy and paste into a different application to print? It's kind of frustrating...

This appears to be a Mac OS X 10.4.11 issue caused by pressing <Enter> or <Return> after doing File > Print, but before the Print dialog sheet has been fully displayed. Waiting a couple of seconds to let the Print dialog be fully displayed seems to “fix” the problem.
