Printing pdf portfolio file list

How do I print the file list (not individual pdfs) in a pdf portfolio?

Open it as you did in 1. Portfolios look like normal pdfs but they are not. Pdf Portfolios were a wonderful idea, but the implementation caused a few issues one of which you are experiencing.

  • Problem printing PDF picture files imported from JPG using HP Colour InkJet cp1700 printer

    When I print PDF picture files imported from JPG using an HP Colour InkJet cp1700 printer, the picture spills over.  A wide range of other PDF files print OK.  Have tried things such as configuring the printer to scale to letter size, etc,, but without success.  Have a Windows 7 64 bit computer and Adobe Acrobat Pro Extended 9.5.5.  Any ideas?

    Hello there! Welcome to the forums @rt70
    I understand you're having some issues with printing PDF files from a website on Windows 7.
    I would personally suggest trying to print from that website using a different web browser. If you're using Internet Explorer, try FireFox or Chrome, for example.
    You can also try running the Print and Scan Doctor tool, that will search and try and fix printing issues.
    If you have any issues that continue, please let me know what they are and which programs, websites, and web browsers you have tried, along with the results from running the diagnostic tool above.
    Good luck and have a great day

  • Cannot view PDF portfolio files

    Hi,
    I am running Adobe Acrobat 10.1.3 on Windows 7 Professional 32-bit.
    There is a regularly updated PDF portfolio file that I view from a suppliers webpage, it is usually around the 200 - 300 page mark.  When I open this in Acrobat I get a quick glimpse of all the bookmarks in the document as well as the first page, but then this disappears and all I see are 5 documents that have nothing to do with what I am meant to be viewing.  I have never used these other documents in question so don't know where they have come from.
    It does this when I view the document in the webpage, as well as downloading it.
    I have another Windows 7 Professional 32-bit computer with Adobe Reader 10.1.3 which does the same.
    I do not know how the portfolio was created.
    I currently use Foxit reader to view this file as Foxit just opens the PDF as one large document and shows every page which is what I want.  Also Foxit does not show the 5 documents I mentioned in the above.
    Can portfolio mode be turned off in Acrobat as this may solve the problem?
    cheers
    j

    Thanks for the reply Dave.
    I have found that the document was created in Apache FOP then edited using iText (according to the document properties).
    I've discovered how to view the main document in Acrobat, I have to select View / Portfolio / Cover Sheet.  Looks like the main document gets saved as the cover sheet.  I have also found in Foxit where to view the 5 attachments (in attachment view).
    Anyway I'll keep using Foxit as this does what I want.
    cheers

    Distributing Acrobat PDF Portfolio file on DVD. Flash Player is required for first use. Some of our customers do not have internet access. Is there a way I can include the correct Flash Player with the DVD? Using Acrobat XI, version 11.0.3. Windows.

  • Can one stop Firefox from printing PDF Protected files

    Locking as a duplicate. Please continue with [/questions/992183]
    Fire Fox prints PDF Protected files. How do I stop this from happening and letting users steal my work?

    Basically if an image is published it is likely to be copied one way or another. Maybe consider watermarking and or only providing low resolution copies of images in such pdf s.
    I will close this question. Anyone wishing to give detailed advice may do so in your original thread

    I could certainly copy an image from a pdf displayed or downloaded by browsers other than Firefox.

  • Printing PDF Portfolio

    Hello,
    I am trying to print PDF with portfolio and getting the following behavior;
    1. When I open the pdf using Adobe , I am able to print the portfolio.
    2. When I explore to that file location and then right click to print the document, I get a printed page saying; "For the best experience, open this PDF portfolio in Acrobat 9 or Adobe Reader 9, or later."
    How can I solve the problem in item 2.
    Thanks, Huy.

  • Sharing a PDF portfolio file

    I just uploaded to Acrobat.com (cloud storage) a pdf portfolio and tried to share it, but all that was received was one page that says open with Acrobat x1 or reader x1, or some such thing.  This, after I paid $20+.  What now?

    Hi,
    Does the page you are seeing look something like this?:
    This is the "cover page" of the portfolio. Previewing of portfolio files is not supported within cloud.acrobat.com and so they will display this instead. However you should be able to view the file as expected after it is downloaded.

  • Print PDF to File -- OutOfMemory-Exception

    Hi all,
    not sure if this is the right place, but I'll just give it a try...
    currently I'm trying to get this sample to run. It should print a pdf to file without user-interaction. I'm using Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional and C#/.NET
    This is the VB-Sample I have found:
    Module Module1
    Sub Main(ByVal CmdArgs() As String)
    Dim oApp As Acrobat.CAcroApp
    Dim oAvDoc As Acrobat.AcroAVDoc
    Dim oDoc As Acrobat.CAcroPDDoc
    Dim oJS As Object
    Dim oPrinterParams As Object
    Dim PRINTER As String
    Dim INPUT As String
    Dim OUTPUT As String
    PRINTER = CmdArgs(0)
    INPUT = CmdArgs(1)
    OUTPUT = "\" + CmdArgs(2).ToString.Trim
    oApp = CreateObject("AcroExch.App")
    oAvDoc = CreateObject("AcroExch.AVDoc")
    oDoc = CreateObject("AcroExch.PDDoc")
    If oAvDoc.Open(INPUT, "") Then
    oDoc = oAvDoc.GetPDDoc()
    oJS = oDoc.GetJSObject()
    oPrinterParams = oJS.getPrintParams()
    oPrinterParams.printerName = PRINTER
    oPrinterParams.interactive = oPrinterParams.constants.interactionLevel.silent
    oPrinterParams.fileName = OUTPUT
    oJS.print(oPrinterParams)
    End If
    oDoc.Close()
    oApp.Exit()
    End Sub
    End Module
    However I always get the error #1001: "OutOfMemoryError: Nicht genug Speicher."
    System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException wurde nicht behandelt.

  • Unable to print PDF internet file unless I save it first

    I am a real estate agent, and all of my software is "cloud" software including the local MLS database.  Most properties have uploaded pdf
    files such as sellers disclosures, surveys, etc.  A few months ago I noticed two issue with the internet pdf files when I open them up - I can now occasionally only print the pdf document if I save it on my own PC first, and another difference is the way that the print option is now displayed as a small pop up box with "print / save" icons in it, BUT this box does not always appear, sometime I just get the menu bar where I have to select print.
    My client database software (also cloud) uses pdf files for letters, envelopes and reports, and it also had a similar issue start about the same time in that the small icon box did not appear and there was no menu bar option, so I could not print at all. I was able to get past that by having the software tech support walkl me through changing the pdf settings to get the small box to appear with the print icon.
    The issue is why are these issues occuring when I'm not changing any defaults?  When I select menu/file/print, or the print icon on the popup box (if it appears), I get the next pop up of my printer and its defaults just like normal. I can make changes or select another printer, or change papertype - whatever I might want to do - or change nothing and take all of the printing defaults, but then NOTHING HAPPENS when I select print. It's like my PC thinks that it's printing, but the file never gets to the printer itself. The print file just seems to disapper into oblivion.
    I tried control panel/programs/uninstall/recover for Adobe Reader, but this did not change anything. I have Adobe 9.3.3 using Windows 7.

    It may be the settings in the HPLJ. On the older HPLJs that I have, the paper size in the printer has to be the same as in the document printing to the printer, or the printer will not print. Check the paper dimensions and compare to the paper settings in the HPLJ -- that may provide the solution, or at least is worth the check.

  • Print pdf/wdf files from DMS background

    Hi,
    need some guidelines for this topic. i have a requirement to print the pdf or dwf files from DMS server.
    i have write a program to download the files from DMS to local PC, and call method to print the files. However, this is only applicable to foreground.
    is there any way i can do for background?
    please advise.
    thanks in advance.

    Thanks for your reply.
    The file menu doesn't show the print option either. We used to work this way, after installing the 9.0 and Reader X version, this option has disappeared from both the File menu and the right mouse button. For other filetypes, for example Excel the Print option is still available and works properly. Logged in as administrator on the serverconsole, there is no problem. So it seams to be something specific to pdf-formats in a server 2003 environment. The userrights are all set on full control (same as administrator).
    Thanks again

  • PDF Portfolio File Size

    Hello,
    we are using portfolios for a few years to archive technical documents. The portfolios contain forms, datasheets, manuals.
    Recently we had to convert to Acrobat X Pro. As already dicussed in this thread the new layouts provided there are not very useful for everydays work.
    What really hurts is, that the file size has increased a lot. But it seems nothing to have to do with the layout itself.
    The "Grid with filepreview" is in the meantime available for Acrobat X here. But also this very basic layout needs the same space.
    In Acrobat 9 a portfolio might even have less size then the sum of its components.
    Are there any possibilities to shrink them down in Acrobat X?
    Thanks in advance
    Roman Grundner

    Hi "lampmaker". I'd suggest logging a bug for this and being as detailed as possible about the contents of our portfolio. The form for bug reports can be found here https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform&promoid=EWQQL

  • Converting PDF Portfolio in a single PDF in Acrobat Pro 10

    I need help in converting a PDF Portfolio file into a single PDF
    This was simple to do in Acrobat Pro 9, but now i have upgrade to Pro 10 and this feature seems to have disappeared.
    Getting rid of this feature would be huge mistake on Adobe's part, so i doubt it would be gone.
    There has to be a way to do this....please fill me in on this.

    Hi,
    To combine files in a portfolio into a single PDF file in Acrobat X:
    1) Launch Acrobat
    2) In the Getting Started dialog, click on Combine Files into PDF or go to Create > Combine Files into a Single PDF...
    3) Click on Add Files in upper left of the Combine Files dialog and select Add Files...
    4) Navigate to and select the Portfolio you want to convert to a single PDF
    5) Click Add Files
    6) You will see an alert "File [File's name] is a PDF Portfolio that contains multiple files. The files within the PDF Portfolio have been added to the file list." Click OK to dismiss this dialog. The files within the Portfolio (both PDF and non-PDF) will be displayed in the file list. Non-PDF files will be converted.
    7) Reorder files as desired (note: currently custom order from within the Portfolio is not maintained)
    8) Click Combine Files. You will see progress as the files are merged into a single PDF file.
    9) Save the resulting file
    If the Portfolio file is open when you access the Combine dialog, you can choose "Add Open Files" under the Add Files menu.

  • PDF Portfolio Cover - how to change this in Acrobat Pro 9?

    Hi all,
    in Windows folders PDF Portfolio files are displayed as follows:
    1. Using common PDF icons (bad, because we cannot distinguish PDF from PDF Portfolio), or
    2. If the folder allows larger pictures, then we see the standards Porfolio cover showing a "book",
    the note about the needed version and a download button.
    Question: is there a way to replace the standard PDF Portfolio cover (and symbol) by an user defined one?
    Such information like needed version and the download button aren't useful for people which
    already use correct versions. Notes like these should only appear on computer which cannot
    corretly display the respective files.
    For a meningfull overview I would like to display own contents. Is this possible?
    Best Regards, Michael

    Ignore the previous posts.
    The thing you're looking at is called the Cover Sheet - it's the page that users will see if their software cannot support Portfolios (or on Windows Explorer thumbnails), and is NOT part of the Portfolio navigator. In fact, the Cover Sheet is the "parent" to the entire document, and is nothing more than a one-page PDF file.
    To view the Cover Sheet in Acrobat, choose View -> Portfolio -> Cover Sheet
    You cannot delete it (as it's the only page in your document!) but you can edit it. For example, you could create your own design, and use the page thumbnails right-click "replace page" tool to swap in your new page. Be careful about the web link though, it needs to stay there to help your non-Adobe recipients.
    If you want to change every Cover Sheet on every Portfolio you make, replace the default "coversheet.pdf" file within the Acrobat install (there will be a series of them in subfolders, one for each installed language):
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 10.0\Acrobat\DocSettings\CombineFiles
    We do it all the time to add company branding to Portfolios created in enterprise installs.

  • Does Office Web Apps 2013 supports PDF Portfolio Documents

    Hi Team,
    Could you please let me know whether office web apps supports Adobe Acrobat X PDF Portfolios (Preview PDF portfolio files through OWA 2013 in SharePoint 2013).
    Thanks!
    Bharat
    Thanks! Palani K

    Hi Bharat,
    Quote from the link you provided:
    The original files retain their individual identities but are assembled into one PDF Portfolio file. You can open, read, edit, and format each component file independently of the other component files in the PDF Portfolio. Depending on the circumstances,
    PDF Portfolios offer several advantages over merging multiple files into a single PDF.
    Since the issue is related to third party product, I'd recommend you also contact their support engineer for more sufficient resource and assistance.
    There is not many articles as I could find that talk about pdf portfolio in Office Web App, here is a similar thread:
