Printing photos designed in photoshop

Why are my photos printing out backwards?

Good day!
What do you mean by »backwards« exactly?
Please read this:

  • Want to print photo package

    Just got a mac with aperture and want to print photos like a photoshop package with 4 different pics on an 8.5x11 photo paper or 2 5x7 etc. How can this be done in aperture if it can or do I need to get photoshop for mac. Hope I did not waste my money on aperture. Thanks

    Ian, I have not listened to the podcast yet, but will this enable one to generate packages...such as 8-mini wallets, and a 5x7 from one image w/o doing anything other than would be required in Photoshop?
    Obviously you are going to have to set up a Book Album with a page for each 'package' you want, which can take some time, but so does editing Photoshop's package layouts.
    As I stated in my first reply, it is possible to jury rig a package by working -manually- in an album page (or custom page) but there is -no- workflow that will do this -on the fly- in Aperture.
    Drag chosen Version into Album.
    Drag Version into boxes on page.
    Print/save to PDF/save to TIFF/save to JPEG as needed.
    Remove Version from Album ready for the next use.
    It takes more clicks and mouse drags than File>Automate>Picture package... in Photoshop, but the time it takes is the same or faster on my MBP.
    Not to forget that you can add metadata to the package which will automatically be populated as you drag the Version into the image boxes, something that Photoshop doesn't do at all by itself.

  • Cant print photos in Photoshop 12 Photo Editor but can from Organizer

    I cannot print single photos in my Photoshop 12 Elements Photo Editor but I can through the Organizer. I have no problems printing photos from all other software  on my computer.
    This is a recent development.
    I'm using a PC [Windows 7].
    Would reinstalling Photoshop Elements 12 [or 13] resolve the problem or is there a simpler way to get the Photo Editor to print?

    Hi,
    Please rename opm.db file @:

    In general theory, one now has the Edit button for their posts, until someone/anyone Replies to it. I've had Edit available for weeks, as opposed to the old forum's ~ 30 mins.
    That, however, is in theory. I've posted, and immediately seen something that needed editing, only to find NO Replies, yet the Edit button is no longer available, only seconds later. Still, in that same thread, I'd have the Edit button from older posts, to which there had also been no Replies even after several days/weeks. Found one that had to be over a month old, and Edit was still there.
    Do not know the why/how of this behavior. At first, I thought that maybe there WAS a Reply, that "ate" my Edit button, but had not Refreshed on my screen. Refresh still showed no Replies, just no Edit either. In those cases, I just Reply and mention the [Edit].
    Also, it seems that the buttons get very scrambled at times, and Refresh does not always clear that up. I end up clicking where I "think" the right button should be and hope for the best. Seems that when the buttons do bunch up they can appear at random around the page, often three atop one another, and maybe one way the heck out in left-field.
    While I'm on a role, it would be nice to be able to switch between Flattened and Threaded Views on the fly. Each has a use, and having to go to Options and then come back down to the thread is a very slow process. Jive is probably incapable of this, but I can dream.

  • I made a design in photoshop cs 5 and i wanted to print on vinyl, how it would possible using CorelDRAW?

    I made a design in photoshop cs 5 and i wanted to print on vinyl/ Guy who is with printing department said that we need CorelDRAW file and
    I think it support vector, so how it can be possible to Print my file on Vinyl Using CorelDRAW? and also CorelDRAW fully supported to CMYK Color Mode...
    Guys, is there any Solution ?

    First make sure what you create in photoshop is already vector. The plotter knife can not use images (raster).
    This gives you a few options some of which requires illustrator or corel draw.
    Illustrator and corel draw can auto trace raster images
    Illustrator can save files as corel draw
    Corel draw can read illustrator files
    In both cases The newest version wins since the older version would not know about the newer version (illustrator vs corel draw)
    Photoshop can export illustrator paths (The illustrator file needs to be edited in illustrator or corel draw as the paths do not have a stroke or fill)
    photoshop can export a vector pdf (assuming everything in the file is vector)
    Both illustrator and corel draw can read and write pdf files.
    If your design is raster you might be able to use the pen tool and manually trace the image in photoshop, illustrator or corel draw. (depending on the complexity of the image.)

  • How to print Photo layouts and Collages with Photoshop CS4?

    Hello all,
    I just downloaded PhotoShop CS4 trial version and comparing it to Photoshop Elements 6. I noticed that there are no ways to print photo packages nor photo collages in CS4 ! The only thing CS4 can do is to print one photo at the time. Adobe Bridge only allows to output PDF photo layouts without any control on the output.
    Can somebody let me know if i need to purchase an Adobe Photoshop CS4 add-on package to be able to print photo packages/layouts and also create collages, or i have to stick with Elements 6 ?
    Many thanks for your support !

    Dear Bob,
    Many thanks for the reply !
    I have searched all over the Photoshop forums and never found anything about creating collage in CS4 !
    I have contacted Adobe in the last two evenings and the only thing they done were to transfer me back and forth between the Sales and service department and nobody were able to help me out.
    This is not a very good image they are projecting !
    I am a photograph and a very big PhotoShop Elements user, i downloaded the trail version of CS4, apart from a few added features, i have to say that PE does most of the work i need.
    But i still need to convince myself if i want to jump in the CS4 world !
    The only stopper for me at the moment, is printing and collage and CS4 seems to be lacking these features.
    Instead of directing me to the forum, would you know the direct answers to the following questions:
    1- Can i produce JPG format photo collages with CS4?
    2- Can i print photo packages / layouts with CS4 ?
    Or
    3- Do i need to purchase an add-on software package ?
    The Adobe Bridge ''output'' menu that comes with CS4 is well done, but you only can make PDF or XML files and you don't have any control on the composition: totally useless for me !
    Thanks Bob for your feedback !
    If i need to purchase an additional package, i'm removing CS4 from my computer and keeping PhotoShop Elements !
    With kind regards,
    Sam

  • Printing photos with Color Laserjet CM1312. Need proper printing software.

    I'm trying to print photos from my Color Laserjet CM1312 multi-function printer.
    I used to have a Photosmart inkjet, and tried to use the photo-printing softthat came with that printer, as I really like it. But that must have been designed just for ink-jet printers because the printouts end up way too heavy on ink density, to the point that some of the ink is actually scraped off during the printing.
    What software should I be using for the color laserjet?
    I don't need editing tools as I have Photoshop ... just printing tools.

    OK here am I again.
    as mentioned before I created an bogus printer with:
    lpadmin -p test -v file:/dev/null
    verified the presence of the printer;
    lpstat -p
    $ lpstat -p
    printer Color_LaserJet_cp1515n disabled since Fri 01 Feb 2013 02:55:59 PM BRST -
            reason unknown
    printer hp930c is idle.  enabled since Thu 31 Jan 2013 11:30:21 PM BRST
    printer test is idle.  enabled since Fri 01 Feb 2013 02:54:57 PM BRST
    At first "test" printer was disabled for an uknown reason.
    tried to use lpadmin -p test to enable the printer as described on the previusly mentioned web site, but couldn't get to enable printer "test". After reading alittle more on the internet I found the command cupsenable <printer> and indeed it changed the printer status.
    tried to print;
    echo test | lp -d test
    result:
    $ echo test | lp -d test
    lp: Destination "test" is not accepting jobs.
    I tried to change the condition of the Color laser printer but did not made any difference with the cups command.
    Conclusion: how can I modify this status to make the printer accept jobs?

  • Designed in Photoshop Want to transfer to illustrator

    I have designed a photoshop logo in photoshop
    Designed on a Mac
    If i want to use this design for my van..say a full color print for the printers. Do i have to measure the side of the vans side panels to the size i wish to make the print or can i design smaller, but then the design logo go blocky as it's being expanded to fit the van.
    If the side of the van measures 5ft x3ft do i make it this size in illustrator?
    Once i have designed the logo in photo shop how do i transfer the design and also what do i save the photoshop as, for use in illustrator
    The person who has the printer can't really help me,as he's too busy.
    He did send me a van template. The template loads in illustrator but i'm unable to load any design on top of the van template
    I would appretiate any adive regarding my issues

    function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}
    A full stop goes outside a bracket.
    Parentheses, not brackets.
    function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}
    This is because a full stop finishes a sentence, a bracket cannot finish a sentence.
    The period goes outside the parenthesis if the enclosed phrase is part of the sentence. If the entire sentence (or even multiple sentences) is parenthetical, the period(s) are, of course, enclosed.
    function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}
    Also 'coloured' is not spelt colored, we are not Americans, we are British.
    The word most certainly is spelled "colored." I'm American. I type American English. But I certainly have no problem with the British spelling.
    function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}
    Please enlighten me as to why you would put 'much' in italics on the 4th paragraph.
    Because italic is a common treatment for emphasis.
    function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}

  • How do I take 300 dpi photos with my iPhone 4s? And how do I export them to my MacBook Pro at 300 dpi to use as I want to print photos.

    How do I take 300 dpi photos with my iPhone 4s?
    And how do I export them to my MacBook Pro at 300 dpi to use as I want to print photos.
    I have been using the standard camera on the iPhone and require 300 dpi to create photo books as the photos are resized according the layout.
    Your time and assistance in appreciated.
    Thanks

    Thanks Tonefox!
    After looking at a few of the links I found a mathematical equation that assisted me.
    Inches = Pixels/DPI
    eg: 3 inches = 300 pixels/100 DPI
    Using this equation and the fact that iPhone 4s takes photos that are 3264 x 2448 I was able to work out the largest print I could make with 300 DPI.
    Width 3264 pix/ 300 DPI = 10.88 inches
    Height 2448 pix/ 300 DPI = 8.16 inches
    Therefore, the largest print (with 300DPI) I can make of these photos is 10.88 inches x 8.16 inches.
    Which is great!
    So is it critical for me to change the dpi in say photoshop or does it not matter as long as I don't go above the 10.88 inches x 8.16 inches?
    From what I can gather the smaller I resize the photo the higher the DPI and the bigger I stretch the photo the lower the DPI?
    Further clarification will be much appreciated. Thanks

    I need your help with a decision to use iPhoto.  I have been a PC user since the mid 1980’s and more recently have used ACDSee to manage my photo images and Photoshop to edit them.  I have used ProShow Gold to create slideshows.  I am comfortable with my own folder and file naming conventions. I currently have over 23,000 images of which around 60% are scans going back 75 years.  Since I keep a copy of the originals, the storage requirements for over 46,000 images is huge.  180GB plus.
    I now have a Macbook Pro and will add an iMac when the new models arrive.  For my photos, I want to stay with Photoshop which also gives me the Bridge.  The only obvious reason to use iPhoto is to take advantage of Faces and the link to iMovie to make slideshows.  What am I missing and is using iPhoto worth the effort?
    If I choose to use iPhoto, I am not certain whether I need to load the originals and the edited versions. I suspect that just the latter is sufficient.  If I set PhotoShop as my external editor, I presume that iPhoto will keep track of all changes moving forward.  However, over 23,000 images in iPhoto makes me twitchy and they are appear hidden within iPhoto.  In the past, I have experienced syncing problems with, and database errors in, large databases.  If I break up the images into a number of projects, I loose the value of Faces reaching back over time.
    Some guidance and insight would be appreciated.  I have a number of Faces questions which I will save for later.

    Bridge and Photoshop is a common file-based management system. (Not sure why you'd have used ACDSEE as well as Bridge.) In any event, it's on the way out. You won't be using it in 5 years time.
    Up to this the lack of processing power on your computer left no choice but to organise this way. But file based organisation is as sensible as organising a Shoe Warehouse based on the colour of the boxes. It's also ultimately data-destructive.
    Modern systems are Database driven. Files are managed, Images imported, virtual versions, lossless processing and unlimited editing are the way forward.
    For a Photographer Photoshop is overkill. It's an enormously powerful app, a staple of the Graphic Designers' trade. A Photographer uses maybe 15% to 20% of its capability.
    Apps like iPhoto, Lightroom, Aperture are the way forward - for photographers. There's the 20% of Photoshop that shooters actually use, coupled with management and lossless processing. Pop over to the Aperture or Lightroom forums (on the Adobe site) and one comment shows up over and over again... "Since I started using Aperture/ Lightroom I hardly ever use Photoshop any more..." and if there is a job that these apps can do, then the (much) cheaper Elements will do it.
    The change is not easy though, especially if you have a long-standing and well thought out filing system of your own. The first thing I would strongly advise is that you experiment before making any decisions. So I would create a Library, import 300 or 400 shots and play. You might as well do this in iPhoto to begin with - though if you’re a serious hobbyist or a Pro then you'll find yourself looking further afield pretty soon. iPhoto is good for the family snapper, taking shots at birthdays and sharing them with friends and family.
    Next: If you're going to successfully use these apps you need to make a leap: Your files are not your Photos.
    The illustration I use is as follows: In my iTunes Library I have a file called 'Let_it_Be_The_Beatles.mp3'. So what is that, exactly? It's not the song. The Beatles never wrote an mp3. They wrote a tune and lyrics. They recorded it and a copy of that recording is stored in the mp3 file. So the file is just a container for the recording. That container is designed in a specific way attuned to the characteristics and requirements of the data. Hence, mp3.
    Similarly, that Jpeg is not your photo, it's a container designed to hold that kind of data. iPhoto is all about the data and not about the container. So, regardless of where you choose to store the file, iPhoto will manage the photo, edit the photo, add metadata to the Photo but never touch the file. If you choose to export - unless you specifically choose to export the original - iPhoto will export the Photo into a new container - a new file containing the photo.
    When you process an image in iPhoto the file is never touched, instead your decisions are recorded in the database. When you view the image then the Master is presented with these decisions applied to it. That's why it's lossless. You can also have multiple versions and waste no disk space because they are all just listings in the database.
    These apps replace the Finder (File Browser) for managing your Photos. They become the Go-To app for anything to do with your photos. They replace Bridge too as they become a front-end for Photoshop.
    So, want to use a photo for something - Export it. Choose the format, size and quality you want and there it is. If you're emailing, uploading to websites then these apps have a "good enough for most things" version called the Preview - this will be missing some metadata.
    So it's a big change from a file-based to Photo-based management, from editing files to processing Photos and it's worth thinking it through before you decide.

  • Can I print photos at different resolutions in one PS5 file?

    I am printing photos on fabric. I'd like compare one printed at 300dpi and the same photo at 150 dpi. I was going to set them  side by side on a piece of fabric and realized I had to specify the resolution of the file I'm placing them in. Can I have two files at different resolution in one file? If the new file is of 300dpi resolution how does this affect the image at 150dpi? Thanks!
    Mary

    Hello again,
    thanks so much for helping a newbie sort things out. I'm still confused. I  know that a higher resolution like 300dpi, has more dots per inch and has the potential to give me more detail in print than a lower dpi.
    If I crop a raw file as an 18" square-  I will make it either 150 or 300 dpi.  I'm trying to place two images ( the same images) side by side in a photoshop file to compare the results when they print- (I'm printing with an online vendor). Can I do that? that is, place a 150 dpi image next to a 300 dpi image in one PS file, identified ast  300dpi ? What are the print results? Will both images look the same, or will the 150 dpi be converted to 300 and I won't see any difference anyway?
    Or, do I need to set up two separate files-one at 150 and one at 300, and print them separately, to compare them?
    Can you help me understand this? Thanks!

  • Is it necessary to have a light black installed if not printing photos on a 7525 phitosmart

    Is it necessary to have a light black cartridge  installed if you are not printing photos?  Keep getting low ink message and it is the only one showing low.

    Hello calcowgirl,
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
    I see that you would like to do some printing without replacing the Light Black ink Cartridge.
    This printer will need to have all the ink installed to function.  The way the printer is designed is that it will take ink from the fuller cartridges to compensate and to complete print jobs.
    Here is a document that explains Ink Usage in Inkjet Printers.
    Thanks for your time.

  • I can't order prints, Photobooks, etc. from Photoshop Elements 13 through my existing Shutterfly account.

    How do I set up Photoshop Elements 13 so I can print photos through Shutterfly. I have an existing Shutterfly account but can't find any place in Organizer or Editor to provide by Shutterfly with my UserName and password. If I select the "Create" button on the upper right of the "Organizer" screen, then select "Photo Prints", and then select "order prints from Shutterfly" I receive a "Welcome to Shutterfly" dialog box prompting me for information to create a new Shutterfly account (new User name, new password). Since I have an existing Shutterfly account already I don't want to create a new one. I receive the same "Welcome to Shutterfly" dialog box when I select a photo in Organizer then select "Order Prints" from the "File" pull down menu. I also see the same dialog box when I open a Photobook in the Editor and click on the "Order" button. So how do I provide Elements with my current Shutterfly information? There must be some way to provide it but I have not been able to find it

    You don't get any windo0ws like the one I have attached here?
    In the above picture I have BOXED the place where you need to sign-in to your Shutterfly account.  Also, please note that you have to be in USA to get this feature as far as I know.
    You do this from the PSE Organizer by going to:
    File >> Order Prints >> Order Shutterfly Prints
    Good luck.

  • Color issues while printing photos

    I recently was able to successfully set up my iBook G4 wirelessly to my Windows-based Dell PC printer network (HP all-in-one printer). I've been printing documents and color banners etc. and everything looks great
    I have also added my HP Photosmart 7660 to my G4 wireless printer list. However, when I go to print photos on glossy 4X6 paper, the colors are bright, but there is a red-ish filter over everything.
    I had changed the cartridge just previously to printing with my iBook so I went back to the store and swapped cartridges thinking I may have gotten a bad one.
    When I got home with the new one, I randomly tried printing a photo directly from my Dell and the colors were perfect. I tried again from my iBook and the colors were still wrong.
    This led me to believe it was my computer and not the cartridge that was having issues printing the right colors. I looked in the Mac Help under colors + printing and saw some vague info on ColorSync and making sure your printer is set up correctly for it.
    Does anyone have any light they can shed on the situation? Does it require downloading specefic software?
    Thanks!

    Howdy, Jesse,
    Just a heads up - you might wanna check to see what driver you are using. Reason I say that is most host based printers are finnicky when it comes to networking (especially wireless) and typically they want to add to your printer list using Bonjour/Rendezvous or Appletalk. If you have added the printer as an IP printer, you may have it setup using a driver that is not designed for your printer (this may happen via Bonjour under some circumstances too). To check to see what driver your printer is using, go to the hard drive, then Applications>Utilities>Printer Setup Utility. Highlight your printer name then click Show Info and this info window should tell you the driver it is using. Also, you might want to check the printer manufacturer's website for a driver update - 10.4 is relatively new and the driver software you are using may be out of date. Or, you may want to setup the printer USB to yer Mac to rule out the network setup altogether. If everything looks on the up and up as far as the driver is concerned, you might wanna try a little bit of trial and error with varying the print settings. In the Print dialog box in iPhoto, go to Advanced Options, then click Copies & Pages and try to find the Quality and/or Color settings for your printer. Try varying color settings and also make sure that the proper media type you are using has been selected. Eventhough the printer is the same, remember that you are using different applications on completely different operating systems and this can definitely have an affect on the way color is interpreted.
    Hope this sheds some light on the situation. Let me know how you make out.
