Printing photos in Elements on a Mac

Hello,
I am new ti the Mac system OS 10X etc. When I try to print a photo, I cannot get to the printer properties. I cannot even select the proper paper.

You can choose the printer settings from the properties of the printer itself and then try printing it from editor.

Are borderless prints possible in Elements 4 for Mac?

I have worked in Elements 2 for years in Mac OS9 with lovely consistent results. Have now upgraded to Elements 4 for Mac (iBookG4, OS10.4.8,1.5G RAM) and am having problems. I am getting a handle on the processing menus, but cannot figure out how to print borderless prints. I have been doing it for years - 4x6, 5x7, 10x12 - in Elements 2 on my Epson Stylus Photo R300. I have tried setting parameters in the Print Preview dialogues, in my printer menus - cannot make it happen. I assume it is something I am doing incorrectly or not doing. Please help! Thanks.

I tried after downloading the most recent drivers - still no luck with borderless. I have emailed Epson Tech Support for suggestions. I am confused about the driver situation. I go to Print Preview (am still unsure of what selections to make here to get the proper orientation - it seems to do portrait when I want landscape and vice/versa) - I usually try 4x6 or custom and type in the actual dimensions to fill a 4x6 borderless (based on what I would do in Elements 2). Then I go to Page Setup - select the R300, then in Print I select the R300, 4x6 borderless and Premium Glossy Photo Paper. The Print Preview at that point still shows a border, atho it is grey, not white, and when I print, I get a white border. The orientation thing seems to be a bug - when I choose Landscape in the Printer driver, I get portrait in the Elements 'preview'. Sorry to go on so long, but I thought maybe there might be something in this that might give a clue - I really can't afford to buy a new printer right now, and have no idea how to look for a driver. Thanks for your patience.

How to export photos from Elements Organizer on Mac?

I saw someone asked the same question and it seemed not to be possible with the Mac version. Surely this can't be possible as this must be one of the single most important functions in an Archving system.

Sorry, I can't test that on a Mac, but I thought that 'Windows only' features would be stated on the Adobe pdf help file, and moving file is not mentionned as Windows only, whereas 'export' is clearly stated as Windows only.

Photo shop elements 9 on mac

I have just installed photoshop elements 9 on mac and want to take an item from one photo and place it in another photo. How do I do it and which section of organiser of edit tool do I go to? Please help as this is my main reason for getting the programme. thanks

Launch Full Photo Edit
Then click File >>Open
Then Cmd+Click on each image and click the open button to open them both.
In the project bin double click on the image you wish to take your object from
Use a selection tool (rectangle, lasso, quick selection etc) and outline your object
Press Cmd+C to copy your selection
Then double click on your second image in the project bin
Click Edit >>Paste or press Cmd+V
Select the move tool to position where you want
You can also use the corner handles of the bounding box around the object to re-size.
When you are happy click Layer >>Flatten Image
Then save.

Suggest that you rename the printer. It is my understanding that Elements becomes "confused" with somewhat similar names

In Devices & Printers in control panel, right click the printer and go to Printer Properties.

Printing from Photoshop Elements 9 with MAC

There is no drop down menu showing paper sizes 4 x 6 or 5 x 7 when printing photos. It is a pain to move everything to iPhoto to print these sizes. How do you do it?

Importing photos to Elements on a Mac laptop

If I try to import photos from my Canon camera to Elements, open or not, the Mac opens its app 'Photos'. The only way I can get the photos from the camera to Elements is by importing them to 'Photos', re-exporting them to the desktop, then importing them from the desktop to Elements.
There must be a better way.

You really need to determine what the priorities are. For example, scanning slides is not something you're going to be able to do with a multifunction printer.
It might be to your benefit to cost out dedicated printers and scanner. Then you don't need to compromise one thing for an other.

Elongated faces when printing photos in Elements 7.0

How can you avoid the elongation of faces when printing some photos in the Editor of Elements 7.0? I read the posts, but did not get a solution.

Shift-click the photos or Ctrl-click them to select them, then right-click one of them and choose Delete from Catalog. They will all go together.

Printing from photoshop elements 6 for mac

I have an i-mac and use photoshop elements 6. I have created hundreds of images but when i have contacted printers to print cards i created from these images using indesign i have been told by many printers that there is an issue regarding RGB vs CMYK . Where and how can i get my RGB images printed for a reasonable price. billrene

The main question I have is whether or not there is an efficient way to get a rgb images printed. I have an Imac whose screen is a rgb pattern so even if i convert the images to cmyk (which i can do in a couple different ways -- through indesign or putting the images in photoshop). however since my sreen is a rgb format i can not acurately see the changes I have made through converting to cmyk. also i have several hundred images i have created and would rather not have to convert them all before printing. I have had problems finding a printer that will even attempt to print rgb images. I have checked at kinkos as well as several print shops in montana where i live. each time i am told they can not print rgb. the images I sent to those printers were unusable because of the color distortions. When I talked with some one in the Apple store they suggested I get a different computer. It has also been suggested i get a printer that could be calibrated to the rgb format and i could print the images myself. another suggestion i received was that there may be a calibration program/software that i could use to make the converesion. Photo Shop Elements 9 for Mac

I have PSE 8 (and 4 & 6) on my iMac. I have downloaded the trial version of PSE 9 for Mac to see if there is enough improvement to warrant the purchase. I am using an external HD exclusively dedicated to photos. There are over 6000 photos that were tagged and dated using various Windows versions of PSE, and I am adding more daily. I use both Mac and Windows versions of PSE 8, since my Dell laptop uses Vista. I have attempted to use the existing catalog from the external HD in the trial version of PSE 9 for Mac, but without success. I used the "custom" button in Organizer Catalog Manager, browsed to the photo files, (the location shows on the left), but the "open" button remains grayed out. What should I do to have PSE 9 for Mac recognize the existing catalog?
I will also upgrade the Windows version to PSE 9. Will I have a similar problem getting it to recognize the existing catalog?

I want to share it between the Mac and my Dell laptop, which I take with me
when traveling. That way I can load photos from the camera and tag them
while my memory is fresh, and then edit and print them from the Mac, which
has a very nice large screen. I use an external USB HD for file storage so
it plugs easily into both machines. In the past I kept an older Windows
version of PSE on the Mac using VM Ware since there was no Organizer in the
Mac versions of PSE. I would use the Windows version of Organizer to
identify the files I wanted and then open them in PSE 8 for Mac to edit.
Hopefully, with Organizer included in PSE 9 for Mac I can save those extra
steps, as well as free up space on my internal HD.
Are you the author of my great "Missing Manuals"? I have both the Mac and

Print Problems with Elements 9 for Mac

I cannot print borderless (randlos) on format 10 x 15 (or any other) on my Printer Canon PIXMA MP970. With Elements 8 for Windows there is no problem. I have tried any possible combinations of adjustements and have the lates printer driver installed.

10 x 15 cm is a standard European paper size but the choice ist not available in the paper size selection. The choices avaiIable seem to be only American. I have to define it as user defined (Benutzerdefiniert). I have contacted Canon but they have no solution for this problem. It seems that PSE 9 for Mac and Canon printer drivers don't like each other. A least the German versions. With PSE 8 for Windows everything works fine. There the standard European paper sizes and borderless printing can be selected with no problem. As mentioned in other topics rotating is although a problem. Lucky enough I have also a Windows system with PSE 8.

I took pictures with the date/time stamp on my camera set to the wrong time. When I try to correct the time on the photo under "file info", the time does not stay corrected. Please help! Thank you!

Elements 10 for MAC cannot print 8x10 photos on a Canon MP970 printer . I get a box that says can only print at 220 resolution. What should I do?

That's not quite what it's saying. It's tell you that at the physical size you chose (presumably 8 x10) your photo has fewer than 220 pixels per inch. So you can print 8 x 10 but the quality may not be first rate, since the original image just doesn't have enough pixels in it to print at that size with more pixel density.
