Printing photos on HP 4 X 6.5 inch photo paper

I recently purchased an HP Pavilion desktop computer that came with HP MediaSmart Photo. This new HP photo software does not give the option to print photos on anything smaller than 8 X 10 photo paper, that I can see. Does HP MediaSmart have an option to print on 4 X 6.5 inch photo paper?  If not, is there HP photo software (like the HP Image Zone I used to have)  that I can download using Windows Vista that will allow me to print on 4 X 6.5 photo paper?

Hi chrisjs100,
This could possible be a hardware issue. I suggest calling HP's Technical Support to see about further options for you. If you are calling within North America, the number is 1-800-474-6836 and for all other regions, click here: click here.

  • How do I take 300 dpi photos with my iPhone 4s? And how do I export them to my MacBook Pro at 300 dpi to use as I want to print photos.

How do I take 300 dpi photos with my iPhone 4s?
And how do I export them to my MacBook Pro at 300 dpi to use as I want to print photos.
I have been using the standard camera on the iPhone and require 300 dpi to create photo books as the photos are resized according the layout.
Your time and assistance in appreciated.
    Thanks

    Thanks Tonefox!
After looking at a few of the links I found a mathematical equation that assisted me.
    Inches = Pixels/DPI
    eg: 3 inches = 300 pixels/100 DPI
Using this equation and the fact that iPhone 4s takes photos that are 3264 x 2448 I was able to work out the largest print I could make with 300 DPI.
    Width 3264 pix/ 300 DPI = 10.88 inches
    Height 2448 pix/ 300 DPI = 8.16 inches
Therefore, the largest print (with 300DPI) I can make of these photos is 10.88 inches x 8.16 inches.
    Which is great!
So is it critical for me to change the dpi in say photoshop or does it not matter as long as I don't go above the 10.88 inches x 8.16 inches?
From what I can gather the smaller I resize the photo the higher the DPI and the bigger I stretch the photo the lower the DPI?
Further clarification will be much appreciated. Thanks

  • Hp deskjet 1510 does not print photo without border.

I am using Hp deskjet 1510 printer and my operating system is windows 7 ultimate. when i tried to print photo with full pages of A4 size paper without border but it doesn't print without border. so i need assist to solve this issue.
    thanks.

Hello there! Welcome to the forums @horda ,
I read about how you are trying to borderless print on A4 size media and it's not working out so well. After checking the printer specifications (below), you can see that this model of printer does not support borderless printing.
I hope that helps clear up your concern!
    Have a fantastic day

  • Using eprint to print photos with email text on one page

I have been using Presto eprint services for several years for my Dad, and I really like how it works and allows me to print the email (from, to, text in the body of the email), plus any attachments, all on one page using full letter size paper  However, my parents would like to get rid of their land-line phone, so I'm looking for options to replace the Presto printer.  I was thinking that HP eprint might be a good option, but based on some initial tests with a friends printer, it seems to just print photos as full page images, without the email content.  Is there anyway to confirgure the HP eprint function to print the email text and photos or PDF file attachment on one page?  Thanks.

    Hello @Joseph_TX ,
    Welcome to the HP forums.
I understand that you want to know if a way to configure the HP ePrint.
    I would like to help.
Unfortunately there is no way to reconfigure the ePrint.
When you send an email to the printers ePrint address, it will print the body of the email and any attachments.
It will not print the subject line or who the email is from.
Also the ePrint feature will not resize pictures sent.
What you send is what you get.
You can get more control over ePrint with the ePrint app, but I don't believe that will suit your needs.

  • Problem printing photos in a lab with an exported iPhoto CD

    Hi all,
I wanted to print photos from my iPhoto library. I filled a complete CD with photos (altogether 317 picutures) and brought it to a printing shop (Pharamprix in Canada) to let them do the printing. Please note I have done that with my Windows PC before and it worked fine.
What has happened is the following. When I picked up the photos I could not believe what I saw, because I received around 700 printed pictures. Half of the stack was a blury, very grain pictures and the other half of it was clear.
So my guess is that the export (as I read in another article) of photos puts also other images (is guess also the thumbnails) on the CD.
Those images were intepereted by the photo shop and where printed accordingly. When I inserted the CD in my iPhoto it shows 317 photos, if I insert the CD into a Windows PC it shows roughly 700.
Did anyonee experience the same problem? How can I export it so that I do not have the problem again.
    Is Apple aware of this???
Any thoughts on that will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Gerd

Did you burn the CD by using the Share->Burn Disc menu option? If so then you burned an iPhoto formatted disk that included all of the thumbnails, original files of those you've edited and the edited files, all jpg files. The photofinisher's software look for jpgs and printed every thing it found.
To burn a CD of the photos you want to print, after selecting those images use the Share->Export->File Export menu option. In that window select full sized images. (It's best if you crop the images to the size you want printed beforehand so you don't leave the cropping to the automatic machine at the photofinisher.) Then export to a mounted blank CD and burn in the Finder.

  • I want to print photo's from my I3. They appear to be saved in photo cache but they wont open. Only way seems to be to e-mail to myself, any help?

I can't print photos taken from my phone. After syncing they appear in a photo cache but wont open and the software from my printer can't do it either. Also tried searching and having Iphone plugged in whilst printing and the printer also can not find the phone to download.

Photos taken with iphone are NOT part of the sync process at all.  You should be importing them to your computer regularly as you would with any digital camera.

  • Why do I not have access to all the features of my Canon MG5320 printer in all applications which use a printer? The printer has two paper paths. The rear path is used for photo paper and other specialty papers. this is only one "unavailable".

I have an iMac late 2012 with OSX 10.8.
The MG5320 has two paper feed paths; one at the rear for photo paper, brochure paper, and other specialty papers and a tray for regular 8½x11 paper. It also can print on CDs and DVDs and has an automatic duplexer. Canon provides a utility for printing on the CDs and DVDs and also for printing photos and other specialty items. This is available in Mac format also. I installed the most recent drivers and utilities.
I also have a HP IBM Compatible computer on which the above printer as well as an Epson are installed. Every option of each printer is available in every software application that has need for a printer.
The Mac printer dialog varies from one application to another. The only applications that list the option for selecting paper quality which includes photo paper are Office for Mac, Pages, and Numbers. Not likely that I would be using any of these for photo printing. Auto duplexing, however, is not available here or in any other applications.
The print dialog in Aperture, Photoshop Elements for Mac, ACDSee for Mac, or iPhoto provide the choice of numerous sizes of paper but no option for paper quality. Therefore, I attempted to use the print utility supplied by Canon and updated by Apple for printing some photos. The photos are selected in this utility. When the print command was given I was shown a message that the printer was being reset. It then began printing a spreadsheet, which was not even open, from the front tray on regular paper in fast draft quality.
It is essential that the rear feed be available for printing photos. The printer will not accept photo paper from the front tray. The greater proportion of my printing is photos or other specialty items all of which use paper that must be fed from the rear feed.
An acquaintence who considers himself to be somewhat of a Mac expert insists that the printer options that I require are available and all I need to do is look for them. The print dialog should be clear enough that "looking for options" is not a necessity. Even so, I have dilligently searched every variation of the Mac print dialog on my iMac and only the office type applications named above included anything other than the basic printer functions.
I have also searched numerous locations online without finding a solution. I did, however, find that printing and printing problems seem to be common with several versions of the Mac OS and Mac computers in general.
I would appreciate it if someone could provide me with a solution. I have no desire to upgrade my Windows OS to Windows 8 which is perhaps suitable for "smart" phones but not desktop computers. However, because of the printing issue I have temporarily put my iMac aside and reverted to using my PC with Windows Vista.

  • Can I print photos at different resolutions in one PS5 file?

I am printing photos on fabric. I'd like compare one printed at 300dpi and the same photo at 150 dpi. I was going to set them  side by side on a piece of fabric and realized I had to specify the resolution of the file I'm placing them in. Can I have two files at different resolution in one file? If the new file is of 300dpi resolution how does this affect the image at 150dpi? Thanks!
    Mary

    Hello again,
thanks so much for helping a newbie sort things out. I'm still confused. I  know that a higher resolution like 300dpi, has more dots per inch and has the potential to give me more detail in print than a lower dpi.
If I crop a raw file as an 18" square-  I will make it either 150 or 300 dpi.  I'm trying to place two images ( the same images) side by side in a photoshop file to compare the results when they print- (I'm printing with an online vendor). Can I do that? that is, place a 150 dpi image next to a 300 dpi image in one PS file, identified ast  300dpi ? What are the print results? Will both images look the same, or will the 150 dpi be converted to 300 and I won't see any difference anyway?
Or, do I need to set up two separate files-one at 150 and one at 300, and print them separately, to compare them?
Can you help me understand this? Thanks!

  • Printing photos from iPhoto 9.5.1 on my printer yeilds garish two color prints. Exporting the photo from iPhoto to desktop then printing from Preview works fine. How can I get good prints from iPhoto?

When printing photos in iPhoto 9.5.1 with my HP inkjet printer the multitude of colors in the photos are reduced to two, Magenta and Yellow. If the photos are exported to my desktop (MacPro) and printed from Preview, the colors in the prints are fine. How do I get iPhoto to print the colors correctly?

    Brad
What settings did you use in the Export Dialogue?
When you go File -> Export you get a tabbed box with various options. In the File Export tab you can choose to scale the pics, or keep them the same size, change or retain the format.

  • How do I print photos with mats or borders in 9.5.1

I have been printing photos in iPhoto for years. I have just downloaded 9.5.1 and I cannot find the option for printed mats or colored borders. Also I cannot see where you would print two photos on one page. Seems so simple. What have I missed?

You'll need a 3rd party app  as that feature has been removed from iPhoto 9.5.
If you have Pages 09 or earlier  the photo can be added to a Pages page, resized to the print size and a frame added.
The newer Pages version, 5.1, has a very limited frame selection but does have some borders.
Additional frames can be added to Pages 09 with this free add-on: Frames and strokes installer for : iWork ’08, iWork ’09, iWeb ’08 et iWeb ’09

I am  using LR CC, latest version on a Windows7 PC.
I am trying to print Photo Info in the Custom Print package. I have no trouble selecting Photo Info in the Single Image/Contact Sheet Layout Style, but when I switch to the Custom Print Package, the Photo Info check box in the Page panel, disappears. I can't find any reference to this in the manual as to why this would occur, or not be available.

  • HT4356 I have just updated my Epson printer to one which supports air print but consider it to be a waste of money as my printer has two paper trays and there is option to choose which try...just "print"  How can I print photos via AirPrint from photo  tr

    Hi,
First-timer on this...Just updated my printer which was less than one year old, to one which had Air Print capabilities. This one is the Epson XP605 which has two trays, one being for photos. Each time I tried to Air Print a photo, it printed from the A4 plain paper tray instead of the Photo Tray.Twice...then I came into my study and changed the printer settings to Tray 1 (photo tray) Photo paper, size 5x7 and  Photo Best, but still it printed on plain A 4 paper. Would be most grateful for any help, although I did read on one Apple site that AirPrint may not be able to choose trays!!!! "may not"??  Thanks

I just figured out the print quality issue for my wife with her new iMac and new printer.
She replaced both at once and she couldn't understand why her Artisan 730 was lower quality then her Epson R280 when they had the same specs.
Turns out the newer printer had the option to connect via wifi which we used during setup.
The driver options are completely different depending on how you connect.
Once I connected via USB the correct options were available and the print quality was better.
Looking at the R2400 it dies not have wifi, but while researching the problem for my wife someone esle was having an issue updating to the latest printer driver.
If you go into the print utility from the Printer and Scanner system preference and under the general tab you should have driver 5.5.
One user had to delete the old printer driver before Software Update loaded the newer printer driver.

On my MacBook Pro (w Snow Leopard) I always had to reconnect my wifi at home when it woke up. I upgraded my router from an old Netgear to a newer N D-Link and stopped having to do that.
I would be surprised you would have that problem with an Airport Extreme, you might check to see if there is a firmware update for it.

  • Printer properties continue to show HP photo paper, despite Preferences being set for Automatic.

Yesterday, while attempting to print a Word Perfect 5 document (my word processing app), the printer( HP Office Jet 6500 E709) operated, passed the paper through and made the printing sounds, but no ink was applied to the paper.  I thought perhaps the cartridge had run dry, although I usually get a warning and then can visually see from the finished print job when the ink cartridge is empty.  My PC is running Win XP Professional, and the printer has never been a problem.  I installed a new Black cartridge and successfully printed off a test page.  Still could not print the WP document, or any other document from "my documents" file.  Tried the "copy" function and the printer worked fine.  Still no document printing.  Printed a Yahoo e-mail using the "print" option at the top of the message, and the printer worked fine.  When printing from that icon, I got a pop-up display with a menu option labeled "preferences."  This is the standard routine when printing an e-mail. I clicked on preferences saw that they were set at automatic, portrait, and color.  I changed color to Gray Scale, black ink only, and the page printed properly.  This has always been the routine, whether printing an e-mail of printing a document.  Then I went to my WP document and hit the printer icon on my task bar and got a different pop- up display.  In this display there was no "preferences" option, only a "properties" option.  When I pressed that button I saw a setting that said HP Photo paper, portrait, grayscale high quality.  I changed the paper type[ to "automatic" but cold not change the color option to black ink only.  I closed the menu and attempted to print.  No ink.  I repeated the steps and discovered that the properties had reverted back to HP Photo Paper.  I attempted to print from the File menu and by using Cntrl P.  Neither option worked and the "Pproperties" continued to show HP photo paper, even though I changed it after each failed attempt and the hopper was full of white ink jet paper.  I deinstalled the HP printer and reinstalled it using the original discs.  Since the reinstall, the preferences are set as desired, and remain that way every time I chack them.  I can print a test page, copy and print email.  However, when printing from the print option in File, the task bar printer icon or Cntrl P, the pages continue to be processed but no ink is applied.  The pop-up menu that appears when using any of these commands always contains the term "properties" and those properties always show HP photo paper as the stock being used.  Regaerdless of how many times I correct the paper type, the entry reverts to HP photo paper after each attempt at printing.

I have the B8550 too, and I just assumed that since it's a fairly high-end printer, it would support the highest-end HP photo paper (i.e., Premium Plus).  However, the manual states:
HP Premium and HP Premium Plus photo papers are not supported with this product.
Now, I don't know if that means you shouldn't use it, or that the advanced features won't work, or ??? Or if you should use it, what settings to use (since that type of paper is not listed in the options on the drop-down menu.)  I have used the Premium Plus Soft Gloss without any problems.  But HP seems to think that the highest quality paper you can use with this printer is "Advanced," which is their third-grade paper.  Not exactly what I'd expect from this type of printer.
