Printing photos on HP photosmart C309a from Lr in Windows 8 OS

I am unable to make the Lr 5 to print on my HP photosmart C309a. Previously I had Lr 5 running on my PC with Windows 7 and I was able to use the same HP printer to print both from the main tray and photo tray. Now I cannot get any photos from Lr printed, while the printer does print a test page ok from Device Manager.

In the drivers section I did select HP and C309a and in the device manager it states the unit working properly.
I believe I had also visited HP's download site and downloaded their driver for W8 for this printer, but will go through that step one more time.

I created a Christmas Collage Print on HP Photocreations. However, when I try to print on my HP Photosmart 6515 it will not allow me to print on 5x7 photo paper. Can I do this, or am I limited to printing on paper only?

Sorry, I have to say I have never used Photocreations, but are you saying it doesn't give you the option to use the system print dialog (which would give you the option to select a paper size from a long list including 5x7), and it let you create 5x7 collage but not print 5x7?
Do you have the hp driver installed? Which OS are you working on?

I can't print on my HP Photosmart C309a from my new Mac book air

I bought a new mac book air and with the new version system iOS X 10.9.1 I can´t print. I try to add it as a printer and it posts, ¨Can't install the software because it is not currently available from the Software Update server.¨. Is there anything I can do???

I understand you are unable to install the printer on Maverick.
I will be happy to help you.

Make sure when you add the printer it shows the printer's name and not Airprint.
(you might have to click the dropdown to select the printer's name)

Error while installing printer software for HP Photosmart Plus 209a-m on Windows 8.1 64 bit OS

Follow the steps below and check if that resolve the issue:
1. Open Mcafee software, from the Virus and Spyware Protection section click on Schedule and run scans. Click on Real time scanning and then on Turn Off. select till I restart the PC and confirm by clicking the Turn Off button.
Now try reinstalling the HP Software and check if the installation goes as expected.
If the issue persists continue following the next steps below:
2. Open the run dialog by clicking both the Windows key and the R key on your keyboard. Type %windir% and click on OK.
3. Type hpoins*.dat into the top search bar, if there are any results rename the extention into old instead of dat. (e.g. hpoins1.old)
4. Type hpwins*.dat into the top search bar, if there are any results rename the extention into old instead of dat. (e.g. hpwins1.old)
5. Launch the Run dialog by clicking both the Windows key and the R key on your keyboard. Type MSIEXEC /UNREGISTER into the Run dialog and click on OK.
6. Launch the Run dialog by clicking both the Windows key and the R key on your keyboard. Type MSIEXEC /REGSERVER into the Run dialog and click on OK.
7. Run the installation file and check for any difference.

How to print photos in portrait and landscape from mobile phone

Hi there,
Have just set up my new HP Envy 5532 printer and am having a few issues with printing photo's from my mobile phone.
Could someone please let me know how to choose between portrait and landscape. Also, when I print photo's from my laptop, the settings let me choose which paper size to choose - does anyone know what a 6' x 4' print setting is?

Welcome to the HP Support Forums. I gather that you would like to learn how to print pictures on your mobile device to your Envy 5532 printer.
You didn’t mention whether you are using an Android mobile phone or an iPhone so I’ve included the document for each operating system. If you would like more print options than what you currently have available, I would suggest downloading and installing the HP ePrint app. It gives you the type of options that you are looking for.

Unable to print to Photosmart C309a from Virtual XP

Virtual XP set up on Windows 7 host. Printer is on network. Can print from Windows 7 but not from Virtual XP. Bridging has been suggested. Need PC expert.

Cancel this problem. I have resolved it by deleting the HP C309a installed software and reinstalled it. Now printing successfully from virtual xp.

Printing Photos with the Photosmart B210a so they are not blurry and full of ink

I purchased the B210a to replace an older photosmart that just stopped printing. When the old printer did photos they were great. Had no trouble setting printet up to run on a wireless network and am using a computer with WINXP.
Photos that come out are grainy and full of ink, so much so that I get ink all over my hands. I have done all the things you usually do, clean printheads, checked the vents, align the printhead. No change in how the photo prints. Went out and bought HP advanced photo paper as all I had was photo paper for an epson picturemate. Nothing.
Everything else on the printer works fine, it prints great and the scanner works very well. The photos are a big disappointment. At this point I am debating contacting HP Support directly or just taking the thing back and getting a different printer. Printer is only about a week out of the box at this point.
Any help woud be greatly appreciated. I did find a thread about this but it was way too detailed and technical for me to follow all the steps the posted.

We are having the exact same problem. I happened to have one sheet of HP paper (from an even older HP photo printer and it seemed to print just fine. So I think the Kodak stuff (I have a lot of it too) is just not compatible with the HP 6510. I'm going to get some other paper tomorrow and see what works.

Cannot print using a HP Photosmart c410a from PSE 9

Just loaded PSE 9 onto a newly built Win 7 machine. The Photosmart c410 is an AIO including fax. Everytime I try printing, I get a dialog for the fax part of the AIO. When I choose the c410 from the print menu item, the dialog allows me to specify the tray, paper type and size, etc. However, the selections are not reflected in the preview (in the same dialog). When I first installed PSE, the c410 fax was specified as the default printer. I changed it to the actural c410 printer after installing PSE. Any ideas?

I am having the exact same problem. The strange thing is that when you print a picture from the Organizer it loads the correct driver/software for the HP Photosmart c410a and prints just fine. The problem is with the editor as it wants to load the fax drivers/software for the c410a and there appears no way to fix this???
I found a solution on an earlier post where someone was having the same problem with windows 7 and PSE8. I went into devices and printers and went to the printer properties for the HP Photosmart c410a Fax and just put my initials in front of the HP and the editor worked just fine printing to the proper software and driver.

Printing Photos on HP Photosmart 6280

Is anybody able to print 4x6 photos on an HP Photosmart 6280? I cannot get the printer to use the photo tray rather than the main tray, no matter what.
I have the newest HP drivers downloaded and installed. I am choosing "Photo tray" on the print dialog and 4x6 size paper.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Can't print color to HP Photosmart 7520 from MacbookPro

I have been unable to print color to my HP printer from my Macbook Pro. All prints come out in black and white regardless of what program they are printed from. It it not a printer problem as I am able to print from my iPad in color. Running OS X 10.6.8. Any ideas?

Have you checked out all of the settings on the printer to make sure that you don't, somewhere, have Print as Grayscale ticked? I know that's an option for my Canon and I have several printer settings setup to print in grayscale on a variety of media and sizes.

I cannot print internetpages with photosmart c309a

I am trying to print an internetpage. It does not work. I can print a worddocument

But I don't understand why the internet connection that my printer has comes into play when I'm sending a print job from my PC to my printer over my local network. I am not using the web services at all for that particular function.
At least I shouldn't be - I don't know what the HP print software installed on my PC is doing under the hood. The software shouldn't have to access the internet to send a print job locally. Nor should my printer have to access the internet in order to receive the print job from my PC.
What exactly is the printer or the print software accessing the internet for when I send a print job from my PC to my printer over my local network?

Trying to add my HP Photosmart c309a

Trying to add my HP Photosmart c309a printer. Under system preferences, Print and Scan, click + to add printer, highlight the HP Photosmart c309a printer, and even though it says the selected printer software is available from Apple, after I click "add" it searches and comes back with: Can't install the software for the HP Photosmart C309a series because it is not currently available from the Software Update server.

I have an HP 2710 All-in-one (wireless) hooked up to my network. I never have problems printing, but when I scan, I have to go to the printer, press the scan button, then select the "computer" I want to connect too, which is my macbook. If I do not go to the printer and select the macbook then I get the same error you are talking about. Have you tried this solution yet?

Printing photo get half the image on some paper

I have printed photos on my Photosmart C4580 without a problem in the past. Now it prints text from my Mac OS 10.6.8 without a problem but on 4x6 photos, the top half of the photo paper is blank, half the image appears, and there are ink streaks on the back.
Strangely, this happens ONLY with premium paper (KodakPremium, gloss) and NOT if I use Kodak everyday paper, also gloss. (I left all the settings the same when I switched paper.) This seems really weird!
Removing the printer and adding it back did not help.

I'de personally suggest trying different paper type settings, and even trying a different paper type altogether. Perhaps try changing the quality as well.

Scanning on a Photosmart C309a

I have a MacBook using OSX 10.9.5, connected via ethernet. When I try to open the scanner it doesn't get past the "Waiting for Scanner" message. I have checked all connections, restarted the computer and shut down and restarted the printer.

I see that you are getting the error message "Waiting for Scanner". The Mac is connected to the router by Ethernet. I would like to help.
Are you having this issue scanning from the Apple Software or are you trying to scan from the printer to the Mac?
How is the printer connected? (USB/Ethernet/Wireless)
The drivers for 10.9 are installed by the Apple Updates.
If you have older HP Software still installed on the computer, uninstall it.
Check the driver name that is installed for the printer. Make sure it shows just the printer's name.
Click the Apple menu and then click System Preferences. Click Printers & Scanners, highlight the printer name on the left side and on the right side of the screen it should show the printer's name. (Photosmart C309a)
If the full printer name isn't listed correctly, delete it and add the printer name back in from the list. Click the - sign to delete the driver and then click the + sign to add the driver, might have to click the drop down to select the printer's name to add it in.

Photosmart 309 cannot print on 5.5 x 8.5 paper - using windows 8

I am trying to print thank you notes on 5.5 x 8.5 card stock. Even if I put a custom size on page set up in Microsoft Publisher, printer says paper is wrong size.

After checking out the printer specifications for your Photosmart c309a model, the size of card stock you are trying to print on is not supported.
