Printing photos with dates

Is there any way to have the date and time when a photo was taken displayed on the prints?

swinguy:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Not with iPhoto. I believe there's a 3rd party application that will do that based on either the Capture Date or Created date. Don't know about the time though. There was also mention of an online photo finisher that would print the date on the back of the print. The app might be Portraits & Prints. I don't remember exactly. Do a search in this and the Printing and Book Ordering forum for "print date" or similar. I believe it was lori_diloreto who had the information. You can limit the search to posts by her.

Does anyone know if the HP6600 printer is capable of printing photos with the date stamp on them?

    Hello @Joseph_TX ,
    Welcome to the HP forums.
I understand that you want to know if a way to configure the HP ePrint.
    I would like to help.
Unfortunately there is no way to reconfigure the ePrint.
When you send an email to the printers ePrint address, it will print the body of the email and any attachments.
It will not print the subject line or who the email is from.
Also the ePrint feature will not resize pictures sent.
What you send is what you get.
You can get more control over ePrint with the ePrint app, but I don't believe that will suit your needs.

  • Tips for printing photos with HP ePrint

    Hello,
I will be giving you guys a couple of tips on how to print photos with HP ePrint. These are general tips to make it a little more easier to use HP ePrint.
#1: Have 4" x 6" photo paper preloaded in your printer
The first step in getting quality photo prints with HP ePrint is having 4" x 6" HP Photo Paper preloaded in your printer’s dedicated photo paper tray. If your HP ePrint-enabled printer doesn’t have a separate photo paper tray, just make sure that photo paper is the only paper loaded in the tray when printing photos.
All photos e-mailed with HP ePrint will print at a default size of 4" x 6".
If available, your photos will automatically print on paper from your printer’s dedicated photo paper tray.
If you don’t have photo paper loaded into your photo paper tray, this message will appear on the printer’s display: “Load paper into photo tray”.
If you have 5" x 7" paper loaded into the tray, it will still print a 4" x 6" photo on the paper, leaving a white border along the top and the side.
HP ePrint will ensure your image is printed with the correct orientation so your photo won’t be cut off.
#2: Make sure your photos have a high enough dpi
Check your image’s dpi: Right-click on your image on your PC’s desktop, then selectProperties, and the Details tab.
The second thing to remember when printing photos with HP ePrint is to make sure your digital images have a high enough resolution, or dpi (dots per inch).
Image files (like jpeg, bmp, tiff, etc.) need to be at least 100 dpi in order to print via HP ePrint.
If you send a photo that is less than 100 dpi, it will not be printed. Instead, you will see a message in your job history on the ePrintCenter that says “Failed”.
To print a photo or image that is less than 100 dpi, insert the image file into a Word document before e-mailing. Your image will be printed on paper from the main printer paper tray.
Image attachments must be less than 5MB (megabytes). Also, HP ePrint supports a maximum of 10 attachments to a single e-mail. E-mails that exceed these limits will not print.
Find out how megapixels affect the resolution and quality of your digital photos.
If you guys have anymore questions let me know.

  • Printing Photo with Info

I have a couple of hundred photos in iPhoto 5 that I want to print. With each picture, I also want to print the title and creation date/time that is stored with the photo so I have a record of when the photo was taken. Can I do this with iPhoto? How? If not, how can I do this relatively painlessly? TIA

You won't be able to do that with iPhoto. There are some 3rd party applications what will let you add text to the photo and then print, Photoshop Elements is one, but if you save it that way you'll ruin the original file so always work on a duplicate copy or print and don't save. You can search VersionTracker.com for "printing" to see what applications are there and what they can do.

  • Using eprint to print photos with email text on one page

I have been using Presto eprint services for several years for my Dad, and I really like how it works and allows me to print the email (from, to, text in the body of the email), plus any attachments, all on one page using full letter size paper  However, my parents would like to get rid of their land-line phone, so I'm looking for options to replace the Presto printer.  I was thinking that HP eprint might be a good option, but based on some initial tests with a friends printer, it seems to just print photos as full page images, without the email content.  Is there anyway to confirgure the HP eprint function to print the email text and photos or PDF file attachment on one page?  Thanks.

  • How do I print photos with mats or borders in 9.5.1

I have been printing photos in iPhoto for years. I have just downloaded 9.5.1 and I cannot find the option for printed mats or colored borders. Also I cannot see where you would print two photos on one page. Seems so simple. What have I missed?

You'll need a 3rd party app  as that feature has been removed from iPhoto 9.5.
If you have Pages 09 or earlier  the photo can be added to a Pages page, resized to the print size and a frame added.
The newer Pages version, 5.1, has a very limited frame selection but does have some borders.
Additional frames can be added to Pages 09 with this free add-on: Frames and strokes installer for : iWork ’08, iWork ’09, iWeb ’08 et iWeb ’09

  • Printing Photos with AirPrint to Epson Px730Wd produces white edge

    All,
I have just bought a new Epson PX730WD and have a small problem when printing photos via AirPrint.  I always get a 3mm white edge on the right hand side of my photos.  Printing the same photo from Epson iPrint app works fine and it works from my PC as well, but using AirPrint via the native photo app always produces this white edge. Very annoying as I prefer to use the native functions when available, but cannot be doing with this edge.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks
    Chris

I have contacted Epson Support and they told me to try the iPrint app which I did and it worked fine.  So the problem seems to lie somewhere between airprint and the printer recognising what is being sent via airprint.  I can't find an Epson forum where these type of issues are discussed.  I was hoping someone else may have an tried airprint with a PX730wd to see what results they get.

  • Printing photos with captions

In a photo album I've put a caption into the Description box of each picture. I haven't been able to figure out how to print the photos with the caption beneath each picture. I can make a web page with the text in the Description box beneath each picture so surely there is a way to do it with printing. My goal is to print the sheets of a simple photo album -- two 4x6 pictures per sheet with the Description text below each picture. Can you help?

If you want the captions beneath the photo then use the Contact Sheet theme in the Customize section of the print window. In the Settings page you can check the Comments box to have the comments printed under each photo.

You'll have the option as to how many columns to have per page which determine how many photos will be per page.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier versions) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. There are versions that are compatible with iPhoto 5, 6, 7 and 8 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
NOTE: The new rebuild option in iPhoto 09 (v. 8.0.2), Rebuild the iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup" makes this tip obsolete.

  • Printing photos with Color Laserjet CM1312. Need proper printing software.

I'm trying to print photos from my Color Laserjet CM1312 multi-function printer.
I used to have a Photosmart inkjet, and tried to use the photo-printing softthat came with that printer, as I really like it. But that must have been designed just for ink-jet printers because the printouts end up way too heavy on ink density, to the point that some of the ink is actually scraped off during the printing.
What software should I be using for the color laserjet?
I don't need editing tools as I have Photoshop ... just printing tools.

    OK here am I again.
as mentioned before I created an bogus printer with:
    lpadmin -p test -v file:/dev/null
    verified the presence of the printer;
    lpstat -p
    $ lpstat -p
    printer Color_LaserJet_cp1515n disabled since Fri 01 Feb 2013 02:55:59 PM BRST -
            reason unknown
printer hp930c is idle.  enabled since Thu 31 Jan 2013 11:30:21 PM BRST
printer test is idle.  enabled since Fri 01 Feb 2013 02:54:57 PM BRST
At first "test" printer was disabled for an uknown reason.
tried to use lpadmin -p test to enable the printer as described on the previusly mentioned web site, but couldn't get to enable printer "test". After reading alittle more on the internet I found the command cupsenable <printer> and indeed it changed the printer status.
    tried to print;
echo test | lp -d test
    result:
    $ echo test | lp -d test
lp: Destination "test" is not accepting jobs.
I tried to change the condition of the Color laser printer but did not made any difference with the cups command.
Conclusion: how can I modify this status to make the printer accept jobs?

  • Printing photos with titles/burning photos with titles to CD

I have taken photos that show hand positions for particular physical treatments and wish to print them with their titles so that I can remember what is what when I look at the photos in my notebook. Likewise, I would like to burn the photos WITH THEIR TITLES to CD so that I can share them with my classmates and have the photos make sense. Is there anyway to do this with iPhoto?

    Janel
Burning with Titles is easy: File -> Export. In the resulting dialogue choose Use Title under the Name panel. Export the files to a folder on the desktop, then burn that folder. This is certainly the case with v6, it may also work with 5.
Captions are more difficult. You cannot add text to a Pic using iPhoto, but you could create a document in Pages and very easily add captions to the Photographs there. Setting other apps as external editor would allow using PS or PE to add text to the pics.

  • HP psc 1210 all in one printer - Printing photos with Green Hue

    Hey folks,
it used to work fine, now for no apparent reason, it is printing out photos with a strong green hue. They all come out looking very green and yellow.
I have done several things - i have downloaded and updated all printer software and drivers, i have ran all printer calibrations and cleaning programs, i have accessed Macbook utilities folder and ran all colorsync utility's such as repair and adjust hue. What is going on here? I am completely stumped with this one.

I just received the G510n Wireless for Christmas.  I tried printing a Photo on Premium Photo Paper and it does not come out.  I can't find Photo Ink for this printer.  Doesn't this printer have the capability to print Photos on Photo Paper?

    HI Dawn3905,
Yes your printer does have the capability to print photos on photo paper.
I'm not sure what operating system you are using but here is a link that shows how to print using photo paper in Mac OS 10.5 or later.
Also here is a link to your printers manual with instructions on how to print photos in windows as well.

  • What is the best way to geotag photos with data from GPS Tracker Log (GPX format)?

I just returned from a 4 month trip to Southeast Asia. Before I left, I set the time on my camera, a Canon 7D, to match the GPS time on my GPS tracker, a QStarz BT-Q1000X. Both times were set to UTC, also known as GMT.
I have imported the data from the GPS log into Aperture as a GPX file. Now I would like to sync the location metadata on my photos with the data from the GPS log. How can I do this using Aperture 3?
I seem to be having two problems:
Aperture wants to shift the times based on which part of the track I drag the images onto. Since the camera and gps tracker times were sync'd, I do not want any shift.
The time shifts that are displayed are 12 hours and a few minutes, rather than 0 hours and a few minutes.
    A few additional notes:
When I imported the GPS track, Aperture automatically changed the time zone of the track to Asia/Ho Chi Minh City, which is correct (GMT+7).
I have batch changed the images from Camera Time: UTC to Actual Time: GMT+7
The time on my computer is US/Eastern Daylight Time (GMT-4), or Eastern Standard Time (GMT-5) when the photos where taken.
Since I was gone for so long, and my GPS tracker memory is limited, I set the tracker to record a trackpoint once every 60 seconds.
Is there a solution to my problems using Aperture 3, or should I start looking for third party applications to geotag the photos before importing them into Aperture?
    Thank you.

I think the 12 hour discrepancy is more likely a result of the 12 hour difference between GMT+5 and GMT-7. The dates and times of the photos and the GPS track are displayed properly in Aperture. See the images below.

  • Printing photos with Bridge

To my knowledge this feature does not exist. That being said, here's what I want.
I want the ability to print photos using Bridge, whereas currently, I have to open either Photoshop, Illustrator, or whatever to print. It shouldn't be that hard to integrate, just add a "print" button under the File dropdown menu and then let us set paper size, ect, ect, just like in Photoshop/Illustrator.
Granted, this is a small very thing, but it would be helpful and could speed up the printing process.
