Printing picture but not words

Question

Trying to print a recipe from online.  When I click print preview the recipe is there, but when I click' print' it only prints the picture but not the text.  When printer turned on it had that message of "incompatible cartridge" but that finally when away, then it was stuck on printing the alignment page continually.  It then started printing facebook pages in quene(?).I deleted all those from quene, then only had recipe.  At first paper would go through and print a line, finally it printed the picture, but never could get the text.  Any ideas for a not too teckie person?

and besides the audio getting to the camcorder,
the screen does go black (instead of blue), just
no video image.
i've followed the same procedure for the last 5 years using Final Cut Pro:
- selecting the sequence on the Browser
- selecting mini dvd firewire (instead of 'none')
on the drop down for Audio/Video quick setup.
- and i've selected using same destination for 'print to video' as the source of video
the pref's show Final Cut knows i'm using the DVX
instead of another camera.
