Printing pictures in a PDF

I created a document in Word that contains a picture inside of a header. The document prints fine from Word. When I convert the document into a PDF using Adobe Standard, the picture will not print. The picture does show up in the print preview. Does anyone know why the picture won't print?

Hi @bastun,
I see that you are having issues printing PDF documents. I would be happy to help you.
Check the driver name that is installed for the printer. Make sure it shows just the printer's name.
Click the Apple menu and then click System Preferences. Click Printers & Scanners, highlight the printer name on the left side and on the right side of the screen it should show the printer's name. (Laserjet P1102w)
If the full printer name isn't listed correctly, delete it and add the printer name back in from the list. Click the - sign to delete the driver and then click the + sign to add the driver, might have to click the drop down to select the printer's name to add it in.
Try printing the PDF again.
If you are still having issues, try printing the PDF as "Print as Image". Print PDF as an image.
Try printing a couple of pages from the printer's manual, to see if to see if you have the same results.
LASERJET PROFESSIONAL P1100 Printer series.
Run the updates for Adobe. Product updates.
Are you having this issue with both printers, one using the USB connection and the other one using Wireless?

  • How do I: put multiple PDF pictures into one PDF page?

I have just installed Adobe Acrobat Pro Ver 9 - so this apllication and its associated SDK are the only applications available to me for use.
Adobe Acrobat was chosen because of its AutoCAD capabilities (when AutoCAD is not present). i.e.  Using Acrobat & AutoCAD's plot configuration files & Pen / colour selection table ensures the output has correct line thicknesses (sometimes colours in CAD are used to represent a line's thickness) - this is preserved when using Acrobat.
The generated output is fantastic. However, when I try to print the output via Excel / Word (used for layout) - my perfect output is reduced to imperfect results.
So: is it possible to layout multiple PDF pictures inside one PDF entity for printing purposes such that the original output is not distorted?
I have in the past put pages in front or behind other pages but cannot find any references or code that works with Pro 9 nor indeed the manual way to insert PDF pages at any location on a single PDF Page?
I'll try and explain.  My template coud consist of 6 boxes on a single A4 page thus:
My base PDF Page (can be thought of as a template - ideally it wont be printed - but even if it is - it wont be printed on any media material) has 6 areas (any number of areas up to 100) on it.  In each area, there is a box.  It is within these boxes that I wish to place a PDF Picture.  Not all pictures will be the same.  How can I do that?  Ideally I'd like some example C# code - though doing it as a user will suffice, for now.
Is there a way of programmatically selecting each of the above boxes on the base PDF Document?
I do know of one manual method (though it seems long winded) and it is not accurate enough in that (even though the layers are deselected) - the hidden layers are subsequently outputed too - not good!
Uses a button icon over each box.
All the current Adobe help for the SDK refers to Pro 8 and previously - which all seems to have now been replaced in Pro 9
This question will be placed in the Developer & User Forums - as it pertains to both.
Thankyou in advance for anyone that either knows any workarounds or any ways to affect a solution.

Picture of what I want to see:
What I get, and don't want to see is:
The PDF was generated using Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 from an AutoCAD LT (DWG) file without AutoCAD being present but making use of a plot configuration (PC3) file & pen table (CTB) file.  The resultant file [WhatIWantToSee.pdf] is perfect - all the lines are the right thickness & colour and are perfect vectors (with no construction / proofing layers visible).  When you view that file in Acrobat and show the "Layers" property box, you see that the correct number of layers whilst are still present are indeed turned off.
However, when I add a forms-button to one of the rectangles (please refer to initial post - where there are 6 rectangles), and display same file as icon display.  The resultant view is the one shown above named [ What I get and don't want to see].  It seems the saved layer settings are all ignored?
I generated the PDF file through Adobe Acrobat Pro 9  Menu | File | Create PDF | From File (Files of type Autodesk) | Options | Selected Layers | Layout | Last Active Layout.
Rectangles are regular content elements - not fields (in the general meaning of form-fields).

  • How can I copy a picture from a PDF file?

I am looking for a app that can copy a picture on a PDF to keynote or pages. I have tried iannotate and adobe reader but failed. I read the introductions of a lot of other PDF apps, such as goodreader and PDF expert, but I don't think they are equipped with this function. Is there any apps having this kind of function? Thanks.

EDIT: Oops! I just noticed that you are asking about iPad! Sorry, I don't know any solutions for you. You can still take a screenshot (hold the on/off button and push the home button).
It depends on what you need. If you are trying to extract a high-resolution image to be printed, you will need Adobe Acrobat (not Reader, but real, paid-for Acrobat) or Adobe Illustrator. Other apps, I'm sure, can do this as well, but those are two.
If you are only going to display the image on-screen, then lower-resolution is okay. Just open the PDF, zoom in on the image, and push command+shift+4 to take a screenshot. Draw a rectangle around the image and a new copy should show up on your desktop.

  • Problems printing a high qaulity PDF from a document

    Hello,
Recently I have had some problems printing a high qaulity pdf (acrobat 9 pro) from a document made in 2010 word.
Every time I have tried to print these documents there is information missing in the pdf incuding text, pictures, shapes etc.. This was never a problem untill I installed 2010 word.
I sent it to a friend, and he was able to print the document into a pdf just fine.
What can I do to fix this? It is very important that I tackle this problem asap!
If you need to know any additional information, please ask.
    Thanks

Have you  checked to see if Acrobat 9 or any version of Acrobat works with Office 2010?

This issue has been discussed many times. Until Adobe releases the next version of Acrobat, there is very little you can do.

  • Word 2013 not printing pictures

Hi all, you most likely would have seen a Word wont print pictures thread, but i assure your this is not the simple turn on draw backgrounds fix that most are! Unfortunately :(
    The issue is;
A girl in an office in a building on a computer, the girl pastes a picture from the web and inserts it into her Word 2013 document that has just been created. The girl presses print, she acknowledges the print preview is what she wants the document to look
like and then hits the Print button.
Printer spools, spits out a page with text, but no picture.
I've tried multiple ways to get the print working, like allowing all web content, turning off the read mode, checking the draw pictures from word, checked printing background and colours, with no effect. I've also tried the microsoft registry fix.
She can print through Excel, PP, Project, Visio, all 2013 editions, no issue at all. ONLY seems to be Word, if she saves as > PDF,  opens PDF > print = Works, not a solution but a workaround.
Any help would be much appreciated guys, i've never come across this.

    Hi,
Have you tried the methods of the
    other thread which you posted?
I hope you have fixed the issue now, if you have any further situation, please let us know.
    Have a good time.

  • Photosmart Premium C309a won't print pictures in a document

I've had this printer for some time and it has been working O.K. but recently it has stopped printing pictures that are in a document I have created.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled twice and that has been no help.  It won't even print pictures from My Pictures files.   This issue is about a family history book I have written and need to print several copies.  I am really frustrated.  Can anyone help?

No I was not able to print from Paint.  I decided this morning to do yet another uninstall/reinstall but this time I did it from a download off the internet instead of the CD I have.  It now prints pictures from "My Pictures" file - at least it did when they had me do a sample.  But it still will not print pictures from my MS Word document.  I am under a real time crunch to get these books to the binderery so I experimented on printing from a PDF version I have of it.  And to my delight it prints correctly from the PDF! Obviously I need to fix the "Word" problem but for now at least I have found a solution to my immediate problem.I will continue to see if it is only this particular document it won't print the pictures from or just what is going on. Thanks for your help.

  • Print pictures borderless ?

how can i print pictures borderless in iphoto (marginlesss)?

Check your print window for paper sizes available:
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier versions) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. There are versions that are compatible with iPhoto 5, 6, 7 and 8 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
NOTE: The new rebuild option in iPhoto 09 (v. 8.0.2), Rebuild the iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup" makes this tip obsolete.

  • TURBOTAX 2014 CD DOES NOT PERMIT OFFLINE PRINT OR SAVE TO PDF.  YOU CAN ONLY SAVE TO PDF OR PRINT IF ONLINE.  BIG SECURITY ISSUE.  INTUIT IN WSJ ARTICLE BLAMES APPLE, SAYING APP STORE SOFTWARE RESULTED IN THIS.  TRUE?

Starting this year, Turbotax CD/download versions will not permit people to print tax forms when offline. If you try to print while not connected to the Internet, you receive the warning “There was a problem connecting to Intuit’s Secure Print Service.  Please check your Internet connection or try again later.”  Indeed, Paragraph 9 of the Intuit Software End User License Agreement states:  "You may save your return as a PDF file and understand it may be processed on Intuit servers, not as part of the Software."
Even if you wish to protect your data by not exposing it to the Internet, Turbotax will not let you without sharing your entire return first with them.  They prohibit you from only printing locally on home, cable-connected printers.
The result of this is that people who tried to be safe by never going online with tax data, are this year being forced by Intuit software to expose all their sensitive tax information files to the Internet and Intuit print server, even though they do not wish to. Turbotax is putting you at risk.
On Feb 19 the Wall Street Journal quoted an Intuit spokesperson blaming Apple:  According to Julie Miller, an Intuit spokeswoman, TurboTax made the change “because the Mac product requires a special, third-party code library to support offline printing.” And she says, “based on Apple App Store guidelines, we could no longer distribute the third-party library with our software.”   She said the change in the TurboTax Mac software was first made for 2013 tax returns, but last year customers had the option of printing returns without being connected to the Internet.
So is Apple to blame that I now have to expose my sensitive tax data to Intuit just to be allowed to save to PDF on my hard disk?  And it's all Apple's fault?
    Can anyone clarify this?

Thank you for this an the other posts.  Particularly for Barney,
I have just discovered that Turbotax actually permits you to print (and save to PDF) documents from the Help
Center built into the program, even when you are OFFLINE.  Works just like normal printing is supposed to.  It just won't let you print actual tax forms. So I guess they were willing to violate Apple’s rules when you print information from their help center offline, but you just can't do the same with your own tax forms.  Clearly this shows that what Intuit told Forbes was a fabrication.
They do in fact have the proper code in the program for printing and saving to PDF.  They just deny you usage of that code for printing your tax returns, which they want to copy.  I don’t think there can be any doubt about what they are doing.  Surely they are not deceiving apple by allowing the limited print function?
We can only hope that a brave journalist will challenge them on this, since Intuit will not respond to customers.
Thank you for any views on this points.

  • How to change the default print template for broadcast PDF Export

    Hi,
I have currently designed a print template for printing purposes and use this as the template for the print button(Export to PDF),if i were to click on this button the output pdf is the desired PDF. But if i were to broadcast the template with output format as PDF it picks the layout of the current template, how do i set broadcast to pick up the print template also???
Further how to insert a page break in a PDF print template.

    Hi Nagesh,
    These setting are for
    1.Adhoc Template for Queries
    2. Adhoc Template for reports designed through report designer
    3. Template for query precalculation
    4. Template for displaying broadcasting wizard.
When we use broadcasting from query designer  to email PDF's the system uses 0QUERY_TEMPLATE_BROADCAST_PDF.
From WAD the system uses the current template layout as PDF Layout.
P.S: OSS note 1054460 -<b>Depending on the BI object type and possibly other criteria, different Web templates are used in BI broadcasting to generate PDF (and PS or PCL) formats:</b>
<i>For Web templates: the Web template itself is used</i>

  • Printing reports issue (Word/PDF/Excel...)

    Hello Apex masters,
    Here's the deal:
I have a page in which I have
    1. report - "sql query" type: "select * from dual", Print Attributes: Enable Report Printing=Yes, Output format=PDF (default options)
    2. button item: "Apply filter", Button Request=Filter
    3. Branch: target type=page in this app, page=same page, when button pressed=APPLY_FILTER
    Behavior:
    1. If I login, open this page, use the "Print" url from the report, a PDF file is successfully generated.
    2. If I login, open the page, click on the "Apply filter" button and then use the "Print" url from the report, an empty PDF file is generated. (same thing happens for Word, excel etc...)
I also have some other items on the page, but I guess that it shouldn't make a difference.
    My workspace is on apex.oraclecorp.com.
    Thanks a lot,
    Andrei

    Andrei,
Given that you' re running this on an Oracle internal site, could you email me login information for your workspace or re-create this sample on a workspace I can access?
    Thanks,
    Marc

  • How can I print pictures direct from my camera?

How can I print direct from my camera?  This printer does not have any ports for accepting the card from the camera as my old photosmart printer did.

    Hey rmg111!
What kind of printer are you using? Most of our newer printers still have memory card readers which would allow you to print pictures directly from the printer. If the printer truly does not have the memory card readers (some of them don't), then you would need to use a computer to transfer the pictures from the memory card before printing them.
Let me know if this helps!
If I have solved your issue, please feel free to provide kudos and make sure you mark this thread as solution provided!

  • Acrobat won't print to installed printer, only to adobe pdf file

This is a sudden problem, started about a week ago.  When I open or download a pdf file - any file - and try to print, the print box reads "adobe pdf."  No matter which installed printer I try to print to, the entry flashes back to adobe pdf.  This happens in Acrobat 7.  I downloaded the newest version of Reader, and it does the same thing.  No, the print to file box is not checked.  These files can be opened and printed from any other computer in the office, so it's not the files.  Using Windows 7 and the printer is HPx476dn.  Help?

    Hi Maureen,
Can you please elaborate your issue?
Do you want to set a different printer as default printer?
If yes, then please follow the steps in this KB doc. Change the system default printer

  • Reinstalled Acrobat Pro 8.1.6 won't let me print web pages to PDFs

I'm really ticked at Adobe's "help" in updating the program only to cause a lot of misery.  I'd read Acrobat had a security update, and got a constant reminder from Adobe update to install the available update.  I've been using Acrobat Pro 8.1.6 with absolutely no problems printing web pages to PDFs.  I installed the 8.1.7 update which immediately disabled Acrobat completely.  So I wasted a lot of time uninstalling Acrobat and reinstalling sequential versions to get back to 8.1.6.  Now I can't print web pages to a PDF.
I had NOT done anything else to installed programs in the meantime, except that probably Norton has automatically updated antivirus files in the background.  I don't have any problems using Acrobat to open and print an existing PDF, or to create new PDFs from my scanner.  I can do a hardcopy print of a webpage by selecting my Brother printer.  From Word 2002 and Excel 2002, I can create a PDF by "printing" to Acrobat as usual.   The only problem is creating a PDF by "printing" a webpage by selecting Acrobat as the device from the list of available printers.  This problem happens both with Firefox and with Internet Explorer 7.
I have Windows XP Pro SP3.  I did the most recent Windows Tuesday security update several days before messing around with Acrobat and did not have any problems printing PDF files from Firefox or IE7.  So, it seems like it's clearly an Adobe Acrobat problem.  I get the small box saying "Preparing to Print" which goes nowhere and then I have to use the Task Manager to get out of the loop.  That closes Firefox, and when I reopen Firefox, the same webpage comes up.

  • How Can I Create a Print Button on a PDF Using Acrobat Pro That Will Also Work on iOS?

I created a Print Button on a PDF document using Adobe Acrobat Pro on my Mac.  The Print button works perfectly on different browsers on my Mac and on Windows (running under Parallels Desktop) as well.
When I open the document on my iPad the Print button doesn't even appear.  I am guessing that this is a Flash issue but it may be more related to the fact the the action for the button is to access the Print menu item, which doesn't exist under iOS.
Is there any way to create a Print button using Acrobat Pro that will work on a Mac and Windows but also on iOS?

In order to initiate printing by clicking a button, the button has to have either an "execute menu item" type action or use the "print" JavaScript method. As you guessed, the former won't work since there are no menu items to execute, and the latter can only work if the particular PDF viewer you're using supports it. I'm not aware of any that do on iOS.
The button doesn't appear because you're probably opening it in the default PDF viewer, which doesn't support forms at all. If you were to open the form in Adobe Reader, you'd see the button but it wouldn't work.
